So many things to work on, so little time to be able to work on them. I don't know how to juggle them all at once.

I have a comic page I still need to finish tomorrow, so I want to finish the colors for tonight, then work on some more camel sketching, and then tomorrow I can shade the page and post it. Then on Monday I'll continue to work on the dog commission.

So I never got to reset the router or move my computer today, so I still have no internet, so there will still be no streaming tonight.[s]

EDIT: I moved the Wi-Fi router a bit closer to my computer and ran an Ethernet cable to it, and for now it seems to be working. The Internet gods are a fickle bunch. My art computer is offline again.

Maybe I need to move my computer. I'm barely on it anyway except in the evenings to work, and my laptops are connecting just fine. But I do miss the ease of starting up a stream and pulling up references quickly, and then not having to move pictures to my thumb drive to upload on my laptop.

Or maybe I need to spend more time debugging it. My brother is the network handler in this house, I should ask him.

Too bad I can't put fixing my computer's networking problems onto my resume. Though I could make it a STAR story.

So anyways, no stream tonight. I'll continue working on my commissions. Feel free to fill out my commission form, commissions are still open for the time being!

Apparently all I needed to appease the Internet gods was to unsubscribe from Apple Music.

The free trial was nice while it lasted, but I only used it for streaming, and even then only when people reminded me I had it, and $14 a month isn't nearly enough to justify that at the moment, at least while I still don't have a regular day job.

I'm inking a dog TF commission right now, but alas it's the 100% dog phase. Then again, it's 3 dogs playing in a field, feel free to stop by. If I finish before 6 PM, I try sketching the 60% phase (if you'd like to see that ;)

Trying to get my computer connected so I can stream tonight, but it's not working. This keeps happening with my computer. My internet itself is fine; in fact, when the internet was working last night, I put it on a flash drive and uploaded it from my laptop. It's just this one computer that keeps struggling with the default gateway.

Going to eat dinner now and keep trying to get it working. Otherwise I'll just have to start working without internet or without streaming.

I've got to shade and add color details to an ivory-billed aracari-woman tonight. I went crazy on details, so it's going to take a lot of concentration to make sure I get everything colored right.

I should start drawing earlier. Then I could also post journals earlier.

I'm getting back to the camel TF, which has been on hold for over 2 weeks while I worked on the 7th intermission page for my comic. I'm going to start with the last page, because I've never drawn camels before, and it'll be much easier to draw camels and camel body parts on people once I'm used to drawing them.

I got a bill saying that I've used up all of my internet data until the end of the month, and any extra I use will cost me. So I have to cut back on internet usage. The biggest one is my streaming, which has always been optional and honestly not that many people make much use of anyway. The next 3 days will just have to be an exercise in self-discipline.

Hopefully I'll see you all in 3 days, with new art to show.

Feels like I get more and more distracted as the day goes on. Maybe I should do my drawing in the morning? Still hunting for a job. Did more programming and writing work for Metamor Keep, which was relaxing. One day I'll finish reading it.

Gosh, time goes by so quickly. I do one thing for 2 hours, I do another thing for 2 hours, take 2 hours to recharge... and just like that, it's time for another 4-hour stream. How does anyone find the time to do anything?

I finished the character inks last night, but then I just kept adding more background ink details. I stayed up very late to work on it, and I didn't even get the chance to put in the dialogue. I guess I'll do that tonight, and then get to work on coloring.

I'm back from my long absence, and I'll be inking the next part of my AFewChangesAroundHere comic tonight, at https://picarto.tv/Rimme, starting at 6 PM ET. I'll take a break at 9 PM ET, and come back in about an hour to continue to around midnight. I expect to take another day tomorrow to continue inking it (it is 7 panels long, after all).

My desktop internet is not working great right now, so I'm not sure if there will be a stream. (I'm typing this on my laptop which is getting internet but doesn't have my art programs.) I'll try restarting and see if that works. I'll update the below link if the internet does come back, either way I'll be drawing starting at 6 PM ET.

Work will be on the next AFCAH interlude page. I decided to make a journal post on my account there as well about it. Though I think moving forward, I'll keep most of my stream announcements on this page, and leave my AFCAH journals for general announcements or scheduling ideas.

I'm curious how closely pay attention to my journals. Are you as excited for another long-form sequence as I am? Another one with my fiance like the kangaroo, the seal, or the ermine & rat?

Long sequences are fun to plan out and to draw, but there's a reason I only do them on special occasions. I wouldn't be against it for a commission (link in the header!!), but you'd have to be patient with me as I work every night on it. What I'd love most of all is a commissioner who can give feedback, tons and tons of (non-AI) feedback. I'd love to know what it is that excites people, and what specific things people seem to enjoy.

Maybe at the end of the year I can do one of those "what is your favorite art of mine" memes. Then I'll have made just enough variety to get a good variety of answers back.

I'm not sure how to feel about less popular artists, who are just as passionate as I am, end up being so much more engaged with the community. Is it worth the extra mental energy to be jealous? Or is it enough to know that others enjoy my art, and keep focusing on improving and creating?

When I try to engage with others, I end up losing a lot of time. It can take up to half an hour to say anything just from self-editing, research, re-reading, and checking to ensure I'm not redundant. Most of what I do is just inertia on what came before, but I hope everyone understands if I seem to disappear for hours at a time.

On a similar note, commissions are still open, and the links are still in the journal header, so don't ask me where to find them. Since I don't have anything to work on, I'll be starting off on the annual sequence between me and JackTheLizard tonight, at 6 PM ET. Because I'll be doing a lot of thinking, I won't be listening to the music much, so everyone is free to hop on and discuss music for me to look up.

When you're first learning to draw TF, it's all about the anatomical shifts, the human becoming the animal. Then you dive into all the many types of anatomical differences, the homologous structures, the things that correspond between one body part and another. And that's not getting into the artwork itself, focused on clean linework, believable lighting, plausible perspective, and expressive posing.

It's easy to get lost in that studious busywork, but it's also important to let TF be fun.

I had a lot of fun with the details in the first Iowa Thompson picture, and the current second picture is pretty light in details right now. So even though I will be focusing on shading, I'm also going to do a lot of extra linework. "Filigree", if you will.

I guess you could say the filigree has been in apogee, while the pedigree has been in perigee.

Hmmm. As important as it is to be fun, one also has to make sense.

Sometimes I get into a point in the day where I'm ready to do something, but there's not enough time to do it before streaming.

Thankfully there is a solution, and that's to start streaming early. There's no harm in giving myself a little extra time, and if I do finish early, that's more time to relax tonight after work. (Frankly, I could use the time to draw to relax.)
