My regular commission queue is just stressing me out with how my mental health has been the past idk year? I've been working on things slower and slower while also trying to do personal art so I can still hang on to some enjoyment in my art without it having to feel like nothing but work. Then there's burnout.
And I just need a clean slate.
Only do YCHs from now on or only do commissions through special times. YCHs and specials are just so much easier for me to handle.

I'm getting my health card soon so maybe I can finally for the first time in my life have some sort of treatment for my mental health. I've been going so long on my own and I just. Hhhh.
It's not depression although I do have moments where I just feel like my art isn't enough.
It's more like I very much believe I have ADHD

I just need some relief

I'm really sick with a throat infection so I'm bed bound atm but I plan to put up some YCHs and do some pride themed icons when I can! I wanted to put them up a little earlier but I didn't except to get sick ;;

I wasn't sure if I wanted to put it as semi-closed or fully closed but for sure I won't be accepting a lot of work. My queue is pretty full as is and the way my mental health is going I've been struggling to efficiently work and deliver in acceptable times and that's not quite fair to all of you.
So my regular commissions will be closed for awhile while I work on what I've got and maybe in the future too, and instead I'll do more YCHs and specials.
Thinking about doing ko-fi doodles too? Not sure.

I was without my computer for about 9 days because my hard drive like. Died. It's all gucci now and even ended up with a swanky new hard drive which is the same size but slightly better than my old one yeehaw.
I've been having computer problems for months but kept putting off getting it checked out because I've had way more important things to pay for. So it finally just died. My bad. Probably would have been waaaaay cheaper if I took it in sooner? Who knows.
The place was so nice and knocked the price down significantly and gave me $20 off the hard drive replacement itself.
Everything is as it should be and I don't need to re-install anything, my Clip Studio brushes are all Safe. I paid extra to back up all my stuff because I was paranoid and I was! Right to be! Cause this bitch died lmao.

Anyways I'll resume normal art things and probably throw something up to make up this money lost ;;

My interview went great and as of January 21st 2019 I'm a permanent resident of Canada!!
I'm so relieved I don't have to keep stressing about this anymore! At least until I decide to take the test for citizenship. But I don't have to worry about so many fees to pay or the possibility of anything getting denied and having to leave.
We finally did it 😭
I can get a job and go back to school and now I can take that trip to Texas like I've been wanting to, to visit my family and friends and I don't have to worry about not being allowed back in.
I still have some stuff to do like get a new ID, medical card, all that fun stuff. But it's over we did it and I can stop stressing myself out to the point of sickness ghhhh

So! Immigration got back to me scheduling an interview for the 21st about finalizing my permanent residency
Which is great news!!
BUT
I don't have the $500 fee paid yet and one of the requirements is I need to bring the receipt to that. Since they never gave me a due date on that, and I assumed they'd schedule the interview AFTER I gave proof I've paid for it, I thought I had way more time in making up this money.
I'm going to be calling to reschedule because of other issues I don't want to get into regarding my wifes health. I'm really hoping they'll be ok with rescheduling for next month hhhh and they wont make this a big deal about her not being qualified to sponsor me.

I don't feel too comfortable taking on any more commissions than I already have in my queue, that's not fair to clients to have to wait any longer than they have to while I'm stressed out of my mind trying to juggle that and my personal life.
I will make a few YCHs and continue to take on the small $15 chibis since those are fast to do.

From what I have saved we need about $300 more which isn't As Bad.
I don't really like straight up accepting donations but with the amount of stress I'm in and how big my queue is I'm just not too comfortable adding more into that and I feel very guilty for making people wait such a long time due to my problems. And I think this is a valid reason for emergency ghh

My tablet shit the bed last night so I won't be able to work for awhile!

I took her in this morning for a final check up! Vet says she's completely healthy and to just finish off the rest of her medication.
He examined her and she didn't get malnourished from being sick, since she was barely eating that worried me.
Her weight is fine, feathers are good, no skin issues, no more breathing problems.
She's ok!

Her appointment was this morning! The vet did some tests and didn't find anything serious
nothing in her poops, no mites. He's thinking bacterial infection, parasite, or fungal infection. We're not for sure what's going on but we know she's sick. He saw something on her wing? I didn't get a look but he said it wasn't really anything. I'm thinking it was from her night fright forever ago where she lost a blood feather.

He gave us new medication, this one he watered down since the other medication is strong and she hates it, spits it out. Hoping this will make it easier for her to take. She has 4 more days on her previous medication.
He scheduled for a follow up next week to see if she's improving or if this medication is even working. If not, and she continues her labored breathing he's gonna try fungal treatment.

This appointment was $160 (Actual appointment + tests + medication)
My mother in law was nice enough to go half and half since we only had $80 in the bank (':
I'll be able to transfer all my funds Monday for her next appointment.

The new medication is only once a day, but it's a big dose since it's watered down hhh. The vet gave her some while we were there and I think she choked on it a bit. She was sneezing a ton all morning (Now she stopped)
I think a saw her still breathing hard earlier, she does it on and off for brief periods.
I have some suspicion it might be fatty liver disease? Her diet is a mix of seed and pellet and I try to give her fresh food but she's so stubborn.(She usually only ever likes sweet smelling things, like her fruit pellets)
Some of the symptoms seem to line up. But there's also a ton of things with similar symptoms.
Although, wouldn't that show up in tests? I'm not sure how they test for that. I'll definitely bring it up next week and see if we can maybe test for that specifically.

I saw her eat her regular food today. A bit more than usual. She'd normally just take a few monches but this time she actually ate.
I'm glad she's even eating at all.


Thank you everyone for helping out ;; I definitely have enough for her next appointment! There's a big possibility we're going to have yet another follow up after next week. But for right now we're good and I'll get through these commissions I have now. Maybe open back up next week if I need to.

HHhhhhh just when I think it's kind of ok. Can never catch a break.
I took our cockatiel to the vet last week for a general check up and to get her nails clipped. I noticed some changes in behavior and poops so I wanted to see if she was sick. Honestly she wasn't acting sick at the time this was just a precaution.
Vet put her on medication and commented about her nose being a little crusty. He ran no tests.
As SOON as we started this medication she stopped eating normally, sleeps a lot, barely vocalizes. It's a pain in the ass to give her medication and usually she's very good about taking medicine. It's obvious she HATES it. I usually give her millet when I give her medicine, it makes sure she's actually ingesting the medicine and not spitting it out. But she has no interest in millet until much later when she's calmed down. She barely touches her regular food.
I looked up the medication on parrot forums, people say it makes them feel nauseous so that's why they may act this way. Made me feel a little better.
I had planned to take her in for a follow up after her medication was done. To be sure.
But today she started panting heavily and it worried the shit out of me. I immediately called the vet, we're taking her in tomorrow morning. She does is on and off. Mouth open and tail bobbing very fast like she's winded.

I didn't really give her millet to monch on throughout the day. I did this morning but it fell to the bottom of her cage. But I saw in her food dish she ate some so I didn't think much of it. I gave her millet recently and she just pigged out like she was starving and I felt so bad. It's like the millet is the only thing she'll eat right now.

I don't even think we have enough money for this appointment. I can't transfer any funds since it's a Friday. But I do NOT want to wait this out.
The vet we take her to is $65 for the appointment itself plus any other tests and medications they give us. Which usually ends up being around $100 or more.

I'd really appreciate if people would consider commissioning me or to signal boost this ;;
Money wise since I can't even transfer it to my bank it's useless but the way my birds condition is right now we're definitely going to being taking her back to the vet for follow ups or if she's still sick.

Went to the border on March 1st (got there pretty late, long drive)
The immigration officer there was not happy and almost didn't let me back in. He was very rude not only to me but to my wife, and made her breakdown several times.
We had to keep reminding him that she is disabled but he kept making snide comments.
I understand they gotta be strict but jesus.

Anyways without getting to much into it he gave me until March 11th to complete and submit sponsorship applications, then I go back to the border with proof we submitted it and proof of payment.
Which wouldn't be a big deal if like, some of the requirements for this application didn't take so long to get :') like a police report from the US, I cannot get that in less than 10 days.
So really the plan is get done everything we're physically able to get done and pray that's enough. I'm not sure of money is an issue? My father in law might cover it since my wife's credit card only goes up to $1k and all this will be a tad more than that. And we just pay him off later like with my medical bill.

I'm just worried that IO is gonna be a dick again and see we weren't physically able to get this done in 10 days and say "Well you saaaaid you could do it"
I have no power over federal shit! I can't make that process go faster! Sorry!

Immigration is
Hard. And this all has made me physically sick from all the stress.

If anyone has any experience with sponsorship I'd love to hear some advice or something.

So

My application to stay in Canada was denied. I called immigration yesterday and from what he told me it’s going to be ok. I need to leave the country though and REALLY start on sponsorship, and I can come back.
Cause like, I wasn’t even given the option for restoration, which allows me to be like “Hey can we try this again? Can I stay?” and he said immigration just isn’t interested in me trying to stay longer.
Which is fair! I’ve been here a long time, it’s just all our options for immigration have failed and only now is Vee in a position to sponsor me.

I got an appointment tomorrow with someone who’s gonna help us sort out sponsorship. We’re gonna try and see if I can plead to stay because Vee needs me here as a caregiver. But from what immigration told me I don’t really think that’s a possibility.

Basically I gotta leave ASAP for awhile. I either gotta go all the way back to buttfuck Texas or maybe find someone I know closer by.

I probably need to raise a ton of money for this cause immigration is nothing cheap. But right now I got commissions on hold from the level of stress I’m in.
And also I wouldn’t really be able to take my PC with me so not like I’d be able to work on art anyways :’)
I MIGHT be able to talk my mother in law into taking her laptop with me so I can draw? I wouldn't have Clip Studio and have to use SAI again cause I'm sure this laptop wouldn't be able to handle it but, better than nothing.
