blarmajin is finishing up the Charlotte fursuit for charlottecoonkitty, and everything looks so awesome so far.

The CoonKitty and I are going to be doing the trip starting tomorrow afternoon.
We are driving to IL from MA... and taking three days to do so, so we can take our time and don't have to rush at all.

We have split the trip into 6 hour drives, which will span that time, from tomorrow to Thursday (which is the day we'll arrive in Rosemont, IL and stay in the con hotel).

Tomorrow night (which is technically tonight) we're going to drive to Wilkes-Barre, PA. We're gonna spend a night in a hotel there. Hopefully we'll be there by 10 PM...

Then the next morning we're going to go visit this Pennsylvania borough called Centralia with the mine fire burning underneath it. It's a ghost town and we're gonna take some pictures and stuff. There are also geocaches hidden in there, so I'm pretty happy I have a smartphone again so we can maybe log some!

Then that evening, we're headed to Cleveland for a night at another hotel. We'll probably stop by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum before it closes at 9 (the fluffbutt is excited about seeing the Grateful Dead exhibit, as that's basically their favorite band of all time).

THEN we'll do the next 6 or 7 hours and get to Rosemont! We'll be at the hotel that night, and through the convention. We'll figure out what we're doing for the trip back when that comes around, but we might split it up into two nights or something, and get back home mid-week.

I'm super excited, and this will be my first time out of the Northeast USA (I've never in my whole life left New England except for NY and NJ trips).

It all kind of fell into place. I don't want to go into details about what's happened, really, since it's kind of personal... But we're taking measures to make sure the emotional issues that arose at FF don't cause problems again.

We are taking my car (Hedwig, the white 90s Volvo sedan). And we're at the main hotel. That's the main part that really got us excited about going to this--the fact that we won't have to do travel, and it will be SO MUCH EASIER if we get overwhelmed during the con to just retreat and have a rest at the room.

Also a gorilla suit MAY be involved maybe maybe.

So the Wreck-It Ralph movie meet went very well.

The movie was AAAAAHHHHHH-MAZING.
Expect fanart. I don't know when but I will do some. This movie rocked.

The voice casting was brilliant. I loved ALL FOUR of the main voice actors. As if the plot and story and concept and jokes and freaking ART weren't enough to get me to want to see this movie, the voice actors alone would've made me go to this.

But yeah I give it a bazillion thumbs up.

We're thinking about doing a movie meet-up for the release of The Hobbit.
This is something that my s.o. and I want to do in cosplay.
We were thinking about going into Boston for that meet, possibly see it at that theater near Fenway or something.

What I'd like is input from New England furs in the Boston and surrounding areas...
* Are you interested in a Hobbit movie meet-up?
* What is your preferred location for it? Is Boston okay? We're planning on carpooling and such, but there's only so much space in Hedwig (5 people, including the driver). Boston would be good because of the easy access via MBTA.
* Should we go on opening night? Is the midnight release (I'll have to do research and see what's up with movie times, etc. first of course) a good idea for everybody, since it's the weekend?
* Should we make a group cosplay? That sounds like an interesting idea, but I don't know how easy it will be to pull off... I know Char wants to go as maybe an elf or something. I dunno what I'd do. I'm chubby like Bombur but not short enough omg idk.

Here's the fast-and-dirty rundown of what is happening tomorrow:

* We'll meet in front of the movie theater at 7:45 PM to get together in the group, and pick up tickets.
---> Here's a map of The Loop. We'll be meeting right in front of the big section labeled "AMC Loews Methuen 20". Should be pretty visible from the parking lot.
---> If you want to purchase tickets in advance, click HERE. That leads to Fandango.

* HOW TO FIND ME: I'll be wearing a GWAR hooded sweatshirt most likely, and I'll have at least one badge hanging on me somewhere. Basically, I'm a fat lady in the black sweatshirt with yellow and pink on it.
---> I'll have other people with me already (Nikita, Carly/Charlotte, possibly Blarmajin???). Look for the group o' nerds.

* We'll stick around that area for about half-an-hour to make sure everybody catches up and gets tickets.
---> If anybody comes later than 8:15, grab your tickets (if you haven't already) and head on over to the restaurant (see below). We'll be in there.

* At 8:15 we'll head over to T.G.I. Friday's and have dinner.
---> TGIF is a really convenient location (just across the parking lot), and it has a pretty broad variety of food for basically every taste. It's also less expensive than the other dinner options in the plaza, like the steak house or Olive Garden, so I thought it'd be a good choice.

* This should leave us finished with dinner probably by 9:30 or 9:45.
---> This is so we will still have plenty of time for people to grab tickets if they haven't already, and so if we take longer at the restaurant, there's still enough time in between then and 10:20 (when the movie starts).

* After dinner we'll head back over to the theater, meet up with anybody who is just arriving, get our seats, and watch the movie! YAY!
---> The movie has a running time of 1 hour 41 mins, meaning it should be finished by around midnight.

So, just to let everybody know, the Wreck-It Ralph movie meet in Methuen, MA has been moved to the later showing, at 10:20 PM, to make sure everybody who is interested can come (for people who get out of work later and such).

There are a few things that could happen with this change.

This means that there's a definite time span we could have dinner beforehand. There are plenty of places around that we could eat at.

Also, this means that if we do that, we can get the tickets early, then go to dinner, then meet up back at the movie for, let's say, ten past ten, so we're early and can get the seats we want.

So Char and I want to do a movie meet for the new Disney movie coming out, Wreck-It Ralph.
I know quite a few people who are interested in seeing this when it comes out, too. Looks really cute and funny, and it has a wonderful cast (well, voice actor cast)!

I feel like a good place to do this meet would be at the AMC Loews in Methuen at the Loop.
It's a good movie theater, plus it's just over the border from NH (so it's easily accessible for people from both states).

This would be for November 2, which is two Fridays from today.
That link leads to the Fandango ticket page for that day/location.

The two showtimes we're considering are the later ones, both in 3D.
The 7:30 PM showing is what we would aim for, but if it turns out that it's sold out, we can get tickets for the 10:20 showing instead, and then go to dinner (here is a list of the restaurants in The Loop itself, plus there are more locally if these aren't to your liking), and then go window-shopping or something to fill the time.

The Salem, NH mall (The Mall at Rockingham Park) is open until 9, so if we wanted to hop on the highway and window-shop there until close, then head back over to the Loop for some dinner, that's also very feasible. (Here are directions from the Loop to the Mall. It's about a ten minute drive on the highway.)

All of that is, of course, IF the 7:30 showing sells out. If it doesn't, then we don't even have to worry about all that.

So my sister had a horse show today. Her horse, Hoot, who is a Belgian/quarter-horse cross (he's HUGE!) did absolutely wonderfully throughout the whole thing for the most part, then freaked out during her cross-country run.

My sister (Hannah) was (most likely) projected from the horse.
Landed on the ground, in what my mom describes as a "prone" position?
And she started seizing.

This happened a few hours ago I think, and my mom just talked to me, from a hospital in Boston.

They got helicopter-transported to Boston.
And my mom went with her in the helicopter.

Hannah has a severe concussion, and is very badly injured, but it looks like she'll recover, as it is at the moment, as far as we know. She's in the best hands possible... Mass General is amazing, and she's in the pediatric ICU right now.

She's on breathing tubes.
She's been sedated.
She's okay for now.

It's a bad concussion, and there might be a tiny bleed in her brain (possibly? I mean, my mom said that's what the doctors said?), and she's being monitored very closely. And I just hope for my family's sake that everything just goes really well.

As Mom told me about all this on the phone, I started shaking and crying.
I'm still shaky.

Hannah and I do not have a great relationship right now. We fight like crazy people. And I feel really bad about this... I'm just putting it out there that I really still love her and care about her. We just tend to hate each other occasionally.

Right now, I'm going to try to keep myself kind of distracted. Charlie's still sleeping (they worked late last night, on very little sleep, and so now they're recovering basically from all the energy exerted). The plan for today was to go over to Dragoncat's house to do hair dyeing with me, Charlie, and her, but I think at this point I dunno if I want to do that.

I don't know what to think or do. It's all very shocking.

I think Char and I are going to stay up here at my parents' because I dunno if Dad's coming home tonight or going to stay in Boston with my sister and mother. (Mom said she wasn't going to come home at all, for sure. She'd be by Hannah's side.)

We'll be here to take care of the pets I guess (2 cats, 1 dog).

I just need this to be okay. I need Hannah to be all right.

Hannah's awake, talking, moving a little. She is getting pain meds.

It's really not my thing to buy the new Pokemon version right when it comes out but ugh I love Pokemon games and pffff I want Black 2.
OR should I get White 2? Does it matter? I mean, I have Black Version, so I dunno if I wanna change it up and get the other one for the new version? UGH IDK.

Why couldn't they just come out with one version after the first two, maybe "GREY VERSION," similar to what they did for EVERY. OTHER. FREAKING. GENERATION? (Red, Blue, then YELLOW, not Red and Blue 2. Gold, Silver, then CRYSTAL, not freaking 2 new versions ughghfhffff you get my point?)

- How do you like Black 2 and White 2, for those who have it? In comparison to Black and White Versions, how do you like it: better/worse?
- Are the Pokemon found in Black the same as found in Black 2? Or did they switch it up a bit or something?

So yeah. I think Carly/Charlotte/Charlie (YUP ALL ONE PERSON, SO MANY IDENTITIES!) and I will both have ears on at the con.

The thing is they have a tail that matches the ears somewhat.
(Taxidermy fox tail from ren. faire)
and the one I got at the faire is dyed red so it doesn't really work with my ears (which are a natural color).

I kinda want to start and finish a Rivkah kitty tail but I dunno how realistic that would be to finish in time for FF which is, need I remind myself, ONLY TEN FREAKING DAYS AWAY!!!1!11!!!!!!1111!~` (ugh I'm excited can you tell?)

So the PA I saw at the doctor's office got me on an antibiotic and cough suppressants. And I feel a lot better.

My voice is still crackly. But it's not getting any worse! And that's awesome... :>

I'm pretty confident I'll be able to do FurFright to full capacity, and I'll be all better by then. I mean, I don't wanna jinx it, but let's all knock on wood, just in case, k? :D
