Today is probably the 7th day I've felt like shit. Going to the doctor's today to see if I can't get help with either getting rid of whatever is causing my illness, or at least take care of the symptoms with something more than cough drops and a shot of NyQuil (which AREN'T doing the trick).

The other night, I came up the 3 flights of stairs to get to our condo unit (we're on the top/3rd floor), and I started coughing so hard and so long that I ended up vomiting a lot. Luckily, that hasn't happened since, and I'm pretty sure the vomiting wasn't caused by a flu or anything, but that my gag reflex was triggered by the intense coughing fit. (My dad said that this has happened to him, he triggers his gag reflex by coughing so hard, and he thinks it subsides, but later on he throws up because of it.)

So right now, I'm losing my voice, and (TMI WARNING! POOP AHEAD!) I started having diarrhea (but that might have just been because I had a McDonald's breakfast so maybe that has nothing to do with sickness--maybe my body just wasn't in the mood for a fatty hash brown).

On another note, my mom was able to schedule an appointment at my doc's office for 11. So... anyway... hopefully this will be able to be taken care of.

AND HOPEFULLY I WILL BE AT FULL CAPACITY BEFORE FURFRIGHT. Holy shit. If I can't enjoy myself at FF, I'm going to be very upset. I mean, I'll still go. Obviously! I'm not missing MY VERY FIRST CON. And by now I'm certainly not contagious. So I'll go either fucking way. But I need to feel better BLAHHHFHFGGGRRRGH.

For the past, idk, what, like few months(?), I've been kind of not doing a lot of artwork a bunch of the time. I have lost my drive for constant art-making, and I have become very disappointed with what I do create.

What I end up doing is usually just sketches.
I can't end up finishing them very well.
I take a VERY long time with most of the ones I do finish, and when they're finished, I can't help but feel... bad about how they're not "good enough."

I surround myself with people who are amazing artists.
That's how I've grown up though. My mom is a brilliant artist. I grew up with amazing art all around me.
That is what made me continue making art.

My mom sees my art, and she's extremely impressed.
She notes how well I illustrate concepts (which I've always done since I was very little), how I use media that she couldn't even dream to use (markers in particular), how advanced I am at my age in comparison to how she was at her age.

I can't help but feel like I don't deserve that appreciation though. My art is just plain BAD in comparison to people on this website, people who are even younger than me, people who are just more skilled than me.

And the productivity rate in comparison to all the other people who are hobbyist artists like myself... well, they have a ton more stuff on their plates (jobs, school, etc.) and they STILL get tons of art done in what they have for SPARE time.

All I HAVE is spare time. I am not employed currently. I SHOULD be doing more art. I SHOULD be improving at a really fast rate, and I should be using every moment I have to improve my skills.

But I don't. I don't think it's worth it. I feel like I should just give up.

I almost think that my art skills have just stalled. I might have even gotten worse over the past few months. It is very disturbing to me. I look at art from maybe a year ago and I'm more proud of it than what I am drawing now.

The only thing I see as an improvement in my art is that I started branching out and using digital media. I'm getting better with Photoshop more quickly than I've improved with anything... So maybe that's what I'm stalled at. Maybe that's why I haven't improved with my technical art skills.

While I see that this idea might be stalled because I am stalled... Because I don't work to my full potential currently. Or to much of any potential. I would need to actually study, actually work at it all the time. idk.

But I'm also terrified to come face to face with the fact that it's my fault that I don't get better. It's because of me. It's my fault. Simple as that.

Part of me wants to go to art school. Part of me wants to learn to be an illustrator. Or, as I've recently wanted to become, a tattoo artist. Part of me wants that.

But the more logical part of me, and the more emotional part of me (both parts at the same time) both know that:
1) I couldn't make it through more school. School was the most horrible experience of my life. And it lasted for 12 fucking years. Thank the fucking overseers of this world it is over now, and furthering that hellish experience is optional past 12th grade.
2) I'm terrified. Because of the turmoil I have endured throughout school, and the fact that the logical side of my brain does justify the terror I feel. So that turns back to point 1.

I... I don't know what I'm going to do with my life. I cannot do school anymore. That is out of the question. I've suffered enough from that. No more.

I'm just at a weird point. And I don't feel like I'm going to find any answers soon. And I'm too scared to find any answers. And I don't feel like I'm going to be at a point where I can face that fear and find the answers.

I'm crying.
I dunno.

1: Standard black? I prefer cream.

4: Chocolate? If I can have it. I'm allergic to chocolate unless it's "Dutch Processed" (processed with alkali) which for some reason makes it so I can have it. I'm allergic to whatever acid is in the cocoa, which that processing neutralizes. Now I might have to google why that is.
5: Whipped cream? No... Unless I'm getting one of those silly frappuccino things. :3
6: Ice cream? I like coffee-flavored ice cream. Is that what you're asking?

So  carlysummers and I are thinking about going to York's Wild Kingdom, a zoo with an amusement park as well.

It's around $22 to get in for both the zoo and the amusement park, but somewhere around $15 for just the zoo...
We could go for most of the day, if wanted. I've never been, but it looks fun!

I know it's kind of short notice, but we were aiming to do this on Sunday.

It's about one and a half hours away from where we live. To get there, we will take I-495 to I-95, and it's about ten minutes into ME (I think). Probably only 20 minutes or so away from Portsmouth and that NH seacoast area.

, , and I went to the beach down in Chatham yesterday for a few hours before the . That was wonderful. The ocean water wasn't even freezing or anything. Plus there were these great little pools of water (not really tidepools? I dunno what they were/how they were formed) that we chased around little teeny fishies in.

Swam a bit, got a fucking good workout from simply walking on the slippery sand. My hips actually were really hurting from trying to stay balanced in that sand. Holy poo. (Also I am so very out of shape.)

Took a bunch of pictures throughout the day. I might get back "into" photography and such. I miss it, but it's a pain because my camera might be pooping out soon (dunno for sure, but certain memory card problems happen, with more than just one certain memory card, and there's dead pixels and such on certain parts of the sensor, etc.) so I am worried about that. But whatever.

The furbowl had a much smaller turnout than we expected, but I took a few pics, bowled a bit, and got to kind of have a nice chat with who seemed to really like my artwork (and ordered a hemp paper badge from me!).

The day before, my mom had really bad stomach pains and stuff, went to the hospital, and then got shipped to Boston for further help. She's since gotten her appendix removed, after they determined that it was, in fact, appendicitis.

For those who don't know, my mom is a liver transplant recipient. A few years ago she got a new liver after hers just stopped working. She was extremely sick for a few years before that, and the doctors (some of the best in the country, too!) couldn't even figure out exactly what it was that caused it. Every time she has a fever, she's gotta get medical attention usually. This is because of the fact that she's got a suppressed immune system and her body works with infections and such much differently than someone who has not had a transplant would.

Anyway... The point is, every time she gets sick, I worry a lot. Luckily, when Mom was in Boston yesterday and the night before, I was pretty occupied, so my worry didn't catch up to me that much. But for some reason, when my dad called, I got this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach that it would be that something went wrong. I can't lose my mom. She's not going to die. I know that. Not yet at least (everyone's gonna die eventually). Carlycat assured me over and over that she was in good hands and such, that she wasn't going to die yet. And I know. But I still had that impending doom feeling for some weird reason.

That's what they usually feel like for me. Heart attack symptoms.

It was weird. My throat kind of felt like it was closing up too. But I think that might have been because I was freaking out about the other symptoms.

Charlie told me that I wasn't gonna die.
That this shit has happened before.
But I was still scared.
Said for him to keep an eye on me and if it looked like I was gonna die to call an ambulance or something.
Luckily none of that had to happen.

I think the soreness in my left shoulder/arm was from going to the arcade earlier, but idk about the chest pains. That was weird.
They might have been connected. Might have been like just that I was in a weird position.
