Hello once again my furry friends! I am so thrilled by our most recent, ground breaking meeting. Did you all know that we achieved our highest number of attendance thus far? Thanks to everyone’s support, and a few new guests, we had twenty-four people! For those who didn’t know, Vedo and his wonderful little girls were our guests this past event. I hope everyone got the chance to say hi to them, and make them feel welcomed.
Depending on the demand, we may look into doing something like this again in the future, either at Star City or another skating rink. :)
Alright, now for the next item on our agenda, and the one everyone’s talking about…. It’s NERF DAY!!!!!
Date: November 13th
Time: 1:00 – 1:30pm
Where: Garst Mill Park
Who: EVERYONE!!!
You all know the drill- Tell all your friends and let us get some fur flying! It is gonna be an awesome, big bash BBQ and Nerf war! What better way to bring in the winter and holidays then with a party? Anyone wanting to participate in the Nerf war will need their own gun and ammo. Anything goes for Nerf weapons, from something simple to the biggest, baddest, monster you can find. Also, anyone who wants to is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, Frisbees, or anything else outdoorsy.
Menu time… Since we don’t want to have a million rolls, and no hot dogs, we will be using a sign up sheet. No more than two people can sign up for the same thing and you have to bring at least one of your chosen item; two if you can manage it. We love leftovers, hate shortages! Please post what you are bringing and once we have two people signed up for an item, we will take it off the list. Remember, you are buying for a group! :)

So what is RoaVaFurs up to through the holidays? Let us take a sneak peek!
Due to the colder weather coming, possible snow, and the crazy holidays, we will be postponing any further meetings after November until likely February. Though depending on how you all feel and weather permitting, we can look into going bowling on January the 8th.
We will be holding a Secret Santa, with presents being passed out at our next meeting after the holidays. Rules for S.S. are as follows: Your gift can be anything from personal work, to gift cards, to a store bought item. Nothing over $20.00 permitted. If you really want to, you can mail your gift to the person. We are now taking sign ups for S.S. Names will be colleted and drawn from a hat and paired off. You will be notified of your “Secret Partner” by either myself or Jen.
The next meeting dates are…
February the 12th – Valentines Day meet <3 (red and pink theme)
March the 12th – Saint Patrick’s Day meet (green theme?)
April the 9th – That bunny just did what with that egg? Egg hunt *I will not be attending this meet*
May the 14th – Yard sale and Lawn Convention! 10% proceeds donated to RVSPCA!

October 9th
location: Star City Skate and Play
Time: 12:30pm
Option one:
If we can get fifteen people attending, then $6.50 a person will get you....
- Admission and your choice of Skates or Blades
- Two slices of pizza and unlimited drink refills
- A private party room to hang out in when not skating
The private room would allow for us to play games like, charades, pictionary, etc...
There are also several arcade games there, and best of all- We can customize the music!!!!!
We would need to give the DJ our music list in advance of the 9th, so they can get it all together for us. So if you have a few favs you want to hear, post them here!

We would really like to see everybody there! So if you can make it, or bring a friend, please let us know so we can reserve a room!! :)

Magic Show!
Hey guys
here! I have had the honor of being invited to perform some magic in Moneta for their Fall Festival, and it would be absolutely wonderful to see some familiar faces!
Now, this being a week after a meet, it's understandable if you just can't make it, but if you can, please do come down!
If any of you guys are near the Moneta area, you should DEFINITELY come out to the Fall Festival out at the Affordable Home Outlet. It is on Saturday October 16th from 4-8PM
Why you ask? Well, not only is there a plethora of awesome Autumn-y events and stuff like that, but I will be in the magic shop doing magic behind the counter, and it would be awesome to have a few familiar faces peppered in there!
If you can't come, fret not, I'll be bringing my close up case with my this saturday, and there will be a lot of that on the 16th, just with some extra bits tossed in.
But do try to come!

Halloween event:
Howl O'Ween Walk for the Animals is Oct. 24th in Elmwood Park. 12:30pm-3:30pm. We are looking for people to mingle with the crowd adding to the fun of the event. Please note about more information about this event. We are welcomed in fursuit!
In further news; we are currently looking for recruits for our next meet in November; Nerf Day. It is what it is, Nerf Game fun in Garst Mill Park, with Pot Luck, Cook out. Please let me know if you want to attentd to this.
Nerf Day is as; Bring your own Gun, Need a lot of people, and bring food, drinks or chips with dip. This can be preformed in and out of fursuit--but it might be chilly out, but you'll be warmed up after this.

We would need to give the DJ our music list in advance of the 9th, so they can get it all together for us. So if you have a few favs you want to hear, post them here!

This is, I am pleased to announce our location of our next meet. We will be getting our skates on and having a lot of fun at Star City Skate Center Roanoke, VA 24012: Visit their site at: http://starcityskatecenter.net

Roanoke Pride in the Park; Ideas for October!

I just got back from the Pride Meeting, and those who are coming and wish to volunteer on Sunday at Pride in the Park: www.roanokepride.com !
They are actively looking for volunteers throughout the day for one hour!The rest of the day is yours, if you want to stay longer you can. We would like to get our name out there and help out the community. We are welcomed in Costume, and without. So just com'on and lets make a name out of ourselves, if you want to know more information, please make sure to contact me the day of, I will be out of town during Friday through Saturday for work.
As for that, I will be putting up a post on the forums for our next meet. If you are interested in local for us to meet at, please let us know.

Sept. 11th Annoucement! Thunder Valley RoaVaFurs Meet!
Posted 15 years agoJust to inform everyone, we are going to have to be moving our plans as expected to Thunder Valley. Due to high interest in people that will be attend, we will NOT be going to Lee-Hi Lines. They were unable to let us reserve lines because of a monthly event that goes on.
With that being said...
Sept. 11th, 2010: Saturday--Roanoke, Virginia
Alright everybody! I got an update for all my furry friends-
September 11th: Arby's [Brambleton Road.]around 12pm followed by Thunder Valley!
Arby's will run you around $6 to $8 depending on what you get.
Thunder Valley would be glad to have us, tails and all! Here's the scoop on pricing should we go:
Golf: $4.00 a game
Laser Tag: $4.00 a game
Party Wrist Band: $10.50 for two hours of unlimited fun! This includes the smaller go-carts. They sell the wrist bands every two hours on the hour. We have to have over fifteen people to get the party discount! Regular wristband price: $12.00
The larger go-carts don't open until 5:30pm and no head pieces while on them is allowed. Sorry.
As a side note, we will be having little side games for our newcomers and members of RoaVaFurs. Give-a-ways on the new RoaVaFurs buttons, and also little goodies that wouldn't be expecting. [Seriously.]

Lee-Hi Lanes hosts their monthly tournaments the second weekend of every month, so they are unable to let me know if they will have room for us as late as that day. :(
Bowling prices are as follows:

Shoes: $2.95
So..... I have spoken with Thunder Valley as a back up plan just in case. Thunder Valley would be glad to have us, tails and all! Here's the scoop on pricing should we go:
