So I've apparently been blocked for not sucking ass.
Posted 13 years agoYeah... I've been blocked from someone's page and my NOT RUDE comment deleted because I dare speak up that the fur length on the sewn spots of a fursuit didn't match the quality of the rest of it. I even said that I adored the suit overall, just that the spots stood out to me. I expected maybe an explanation as to why (such as, maybe it looks better IRL, or the commissioner requested it, or it's just the angles in the picture), but no. I get blocked.
Jesus, are all good fursuit makers this sensitive?

Custom Jewelry...
Posted 13 years agoI figured, I should make a post about custom jewelry commissions.
Jewelry is priced based on cost of items used - usually rounded to a full or half string of beads, the individual charms if there are charms, and the cost of the specialty beads (such as carved bone beads, metal spring beads, and "Pandora" style beads), findings and stringing material (cost is negligent unless you want a specific style finding) and then my time.
Most bead strings I can get for around $5 for a full string. Sometimes it's $6 and sometimes $8 depending on what you want ($5 for nice ceramic, wood or glass, $6 for metal/shell/bone and $8 for semi-precious stone).
Charms are usually sold in pairs to me, for ~$5. Singles are usually half that, though depending on size may be more.
Pandora beads come in a string of five for $5. So each Pandora style bead you want, expect $1 added.
Findings are pretty much optional. I can use elastic string and pull everything taut, metal spring beads which can hook together with a metal ring between all pieces, or tie and adjustable two-ended sliding knot on cotton string (so you don't have one loose end) if you choose no findings. This is usually a quarter if you want no findings, or fifty cents if you do want findings. Like I said, not much.
My time really depends on the specific piece more than anything, here. A bracelet may take me anywhere from a half hour to an hour, and a necklace usually takes me at least an hour. I like getting paid for my time and effort, just like anyone else does. $4 for bracelets, $8 for necklaces.
Shipping. Shipping currently costs $5.35 flat-rate within the US for a small flat-rate box. You may ask me to stuff as much as you want into it, it won't affect me. :P
Now for the fun part!
A sort of compilation of charms I currently have available. Choosing these will be cheaper than asking me to find new ones.

Posted 13 years agoThree "pit bulls" euthanized and blamed after being attacked
Posted 13 years agoPlease spread the word about this terrible incident.
3 'pit bulls' were sentenced to death after they and their owner were attacked by a loose dog (and that loose dog's owner).

For those who don't like links and further information....
Austin Texas, Three pit bulls have been sentenced by a judge to be euthanized after they were the victims of a vicious dog attack.
Chris Grant the owner of the pit bulls had been training his dogs, Leo, Dawn and Gorgo in a parking lot earlier this month, the dogs secured to the back of his SUV, when a man with his dog running loose, entered the same parking lot. The loose dog spotted Grant’s dogs and charged.
“The owner of the dog couldn't keep his dog under control,” Grant stated. “It kept attacking us.”
“Instead of pulling his dog out of our reach, he repeatedly punched and kicked my dogs, in attempt to stop my dogs from fighting back.” Grant went on to state. “I waved someone down and told them to call 911.”
Grant continued, “The owner untied Dawn's leash while I was separating Gorgo and the loose dog, and he tied her to a tree. When I looked up, he was kicking and punching her while she was tied up.”
“I finally separated Gorgo and the off-leash dog, and his dog started attacking me.” Grant stated. “And finally he got his dog under control.”
The next part of Grant’s statement details the beginning of the discrimination he and his dogs would go through, that ended with the judge’s final ruling Friday.
“The ambulance and police finally showed up, walking right past me bleeding, lying on the ground and having an asthma attack, to treat the person who claimed he had been attacked by a pit bull.”
“An Animal Control officer came out to the scene. He said he was taking my animals because they were off leash during the time of dog fight. I corrected him, and he said he was going to take them anyway.”
“Meanwhile, the dog that bit me went straight home and wasn't issued the state-required quarantine until 7 days after the incident. In fact, it wouldn’t have been issued at all if I hadn't requested it.”
Grant ended his statement with, “My bite report was lost."
Two of Grant’s dogs are certified NSAR service dogs.
The media is using the name “pit bull” to describe most of the dog attacks that are making headline news. There are over 100 different bull breeds, not to mention the designer “pit bulls” that breeders threw to gather to get a meaner looking and acting animal, that would appeal to dog fighting and drug cartel buyers.
Any older pit bull breeder will tell you “A true pit bull will not bite a human; they have been selectively bred not too!”
____________________
The dogs were put down right after the hearing, given no chance for an appeal, and apparently it seems the owner was only told today. There's waaaaay too many sketchy things that went on with the entire case and it brings to mind the whole Lennox case all too readily on the legal level and with Animal Control. This really needs to blow up.
There is a facebook page with further, up to date information and information about the chip-in. Apparently the Lexus Project is still going to be taking the case despite the news of the dog's deaths. https://www.facebook.com/SaveLeoDawnAndGorgo

karja. This makes me very sad, since I know this isn't the first time this has happened, and indeed have seen dogs who had been attacked, put down because they "looked scary" or "looked part pit/wolf/other so-called dangerous breed" - wish it was that easy, we could just put down anyone we thought looked like a dangerous person. That'll keep us safe, right? *end sarcasm voice*

Sigh. I know people have good intentions, but...
Posted 13 years agoRANT WARNING: DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ ME RANTING ABOUT STUPIDITY.
Honestly. If you find a dog/cat you've never seen before wandering around, and manage to wrangle the thing... don't post it up for sale/free right away? If it has a collar on, it's most likely someone's pet that got out. :/ If it doesn't have a collar, at least have the common decency to obey the LAW (you do know, that thing that keeps the shelters from immediately putting a stray down, that "holding time" is because they have to make sure it's no one else's pet first!) and hold on to the thing and have done your due diligence in finding the owner (taking it to the vet to be scanned for chip/see if they recognize it, go to/call the shelters asking if anyone has been in looking for a dog/cat like the one you found, posting "found dog/cat" posters in the neighborhood, vet and shelters.. you know, what you'd hope someone else would do if YOU lost a pet!). If you can't, turn the animal over to a shelter, who will at least do the basics. :|
There's a striking rise around here, with the amount of people picking up pets off the street (apparently even plucking animals from out of people's yards) and then selling them or giving them away the same day (evidence in the "we just found him/her today and can't keep it!)... and it really bothers me that these people think they're doing the right thing, or in the case of selling, "not doing anything wrong" by this. I have an indoor only cat. She's chipped and collared with our address. I'd be very upset probably to the point of violence if say, a fire happened or maintenance came in and she bolted, and someone picked her up and gave her away or sold her. Seriously, people, THINK for once! It's not that hard! AUGHDFLKBJNBN.
Rant over. c.c; Sorry about that.

Little update on neighbor situation.
Posted 13 years agoSeems someone reported them anyway. That night, police showed up to make a visit, then the next day CPS showed up. All the kids are still there, father's still there, still sometimes some raised voices but I haven't heard anywhere near as much as before. I did have to talk to an officer and a CPS worker, and I swear I felt like my chest was gonna burst. There were a few times I had to apologize and just told them that I had trouble speaking with people I didn't know (the CPS lady seemed to understand, the cop not so much, pretty much just seemed annoyed at the whole thing).
So yeah. We'll see how it goes from here. I'm assuming that, since everyone's still there, there was no physical evidence of abuse... however, I wouldn't know because I am not entitled to that kind of information since they're not allowed to tell me.

A little morality/ethics and neighbors, thoughts..
Posted 13 years agoSo I have "that" family living next door. The neighbors who you're pretty sure are over the legal limit for living in a two bedroom apartment, are constantly loud and obnoxious, at least two adults, a teenage son and daughter, and a younger daughter, then the teenage daughter's baby. Possibly an aunt living in the household.
That aside.. I've been there. I really have. I've been the child of one such household that had three adults at any given time (five at one point), and three kids, in a two, sometimes three bedroom place. I was the kid who slept in the den/living room.
It would seem the neighbors mimic something else that went on in my household growing up.. abuse. All I know for certain is the verbal abuse. I hear it every day, always the father (though possibly sometimes the teenage son, I don't know for sure since I can't see them) cussing like a sailor at whoever's there.
It started with the screaming baby. At one point in time, the young daughter dropped him, and then ensued an amount of screaming that I had never heard from them before. "Why the fuck were you holding her? You could have killed her you little bitch!" - The child can't be more than ten, most likely more around eight. In girl scouts, too (they sometimes have sleepovers on the weekends). Why would anyone ever say that to a child? It was an accident for crying out loud.
Okay, so the baby was, well, a baby. They overreacted. People do that, and people say things.
One day, I play some music, about mid-day, while doing the dishes. I have to turn it up a little to hear over the running water(not too much louder than usual, but again it's MID DAY. Like, 2-4PMish), and while I'm washing dishes and singing along, here comes a banging on my door. And I don't mean normal knocking, or knocking loud enough to hear. I'm talking I seriously thought there might be a police officer at my door. So I go, turn down the music so I can answer the door. I'm promptly faced with a big, burly, red-headed man who looks very angry and intimidating. He tells me he's "not trying to be a dick" but that I "need to turn that shit down because he's trying to sleep" and that his couch (apparently he's sleeping on the couch) is right against the wall where my speakers are (maybe 15 feet from where I was washing dishes). I'm a meek person. I really am. I can talk crap like I'm big around friends and whatnot, but when faced with strangers, I scurry away and hide as fast as possible.. so, in true Larth form, I turn off my music entirely, and go back to washing dishes as quiet as I possibly can after closing the door on the man (after a quick, quiet "oh ok I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, please I'm sorry" while he's ranting at me about my music being too loud and he has to deal with enough crap and his anger seems to be escalating). Water turned down as low as possible to rinse things, making sure not to clang plates... basically, I was trying to be as invisible as possible because I was honestly terrified.
But hey, things happen, right? So I just move on.
Today, he's apparently home alone with the kids... and what do I hear but "Hey, what the fuck did I tell you? Get over here, you bitch!" and then a rather solid, loud thud that shakes even my apartment.
I'm honestly worried.. I really am, but again, having lived in a situation where I knew, if the man was out that I'd be practically homeless and ruin the lives of the rest of my family who weren't having to deal with the brunt of his anger (that was all focused on me, because he knew he could control me and get away with it at the time)... I run into the same fears.
If I report them, most likely they will have to find somewhere else to live. Times are hard, it's hard to find somewhere to live as it is. Their main breadwinner will be gone. There are four children in that household to support. I know from experience that food stamps and WIC doesn't go far. Social Security is basically a joke nowadays and they automatically reject applicants the first time anyway.
So, essentially.. it comes down to, which is worse? A life of trying not to incur the wrath of this one man, or living in poverty, not knowing where you or your children's next meals will come from, not knowing where you'll be living or even if you can get a home?
Then, there's the point of, I'm still terrified. If the police do nothing... they'll know it was one of their neighbors. They only have two on this floor, and it's no big surprise that I'm on the wall that can hear them best.
I know the RIGHT thing to do. I know the consequences as well. And I am scared.
To be honest, it's possible the man's all bark. But.. I just don't know sometimes... like, is it really any of my business anyway? Is there anything I can do without having to report them or confront them?
I just don't know sometimes... I just know my gut instinct is to go and hide, curl up in a ball and cry and hide from the ghosts from my own past. How can I possibly even attempt to help these people, who may not even need my help anyway, if I can't even help myself?
This journal may disappear. All I know is, there's all this craziness bottled up in my head, and the sounds from my neighbors aren't helping me keep it buried.

Commission Slots - OPEN
Posted 13 years agoSooo, due to some unfortunate circumstances concerning someone with a lead foot and someone with a quota to fill, there is a $200 expenditure this month that was not planned on.
So! I'm open for commissions - right now, I'm taking this one batch and will be attempting to get them knocked out within the next week, then opening for a second batch. Anyone who knows me, knows I try and work quickly if at all possible.
I'm available for:
Small images (poses, bust shots, sketches) for $5
Reference Sheets (side view, headshot, color palette) for $15 (more views available for extra charge)
Large images (full body image, probably about 1000 pixels tall or wide) for $15-$20 (single character - more characters available for extra charge)

If I were to stream, what time would be best? (list of q's)
Posted 13 years agoI know it might be a bother to some of you, but I'd really love some honest answers. Thank you ahead of time! :)
If I were to host another stream, what time (server time) would be best for everyone?
I'm just wondering, cause of the new (and utterly stupid, in my opinion) twelve hour rule, I'd only be allowed to post once, and I don't want to risk "spamming" by linking to my stream on finished works from in-stream, cause I know SOME admin out there would badmin the entire ordeal stating it was a stream notification, despite it being original unposted work.
Also, if you were to attend, would you be interested in getting anything?
What would interest you?
How much would you pay max?
How much would you think I should charge minimum on any commission in order to be taken seriously as a quality artist?
Do you think my art is even worth being paid for?
Do you think there are things I should not charge for at all?
Should in-stream commissions be more, equal to, or less than normal commission prices?

Finally arrived, after tons of issues...
Posted 13 years agoSo, first we get to the airport late, cause boyfriend's dad doesn't know how to use highways. He prefers back roads. He doesn't think it's a problem cause "security isn't that bad" - the man obviously hasn't flown in a long time.
We would have missed the flight... If the plane had ever arrived to begin with... Turns out, it was still sitting in Chicago. So! After a very quick plane juggling by the airport staff, we end up on a straight flight to Frisco. Not bad, except this puts us there three hours behind schedule. We race over, just in time to catch our new connecting flight and get to Seattle around 10:30, much later than the seven we had originally scheduled. Cue the "where the heck am I supposed to go" stress session, followed by "the bus driver tried to take off with our luggage" and you have us. Luckily nothing terrible is wrong with the hotel (roller chair is broken in the room, but right now I don't care, not gonna use it) - dinner is fecking expensive though, since we didn't get to our room till stupid late and had to order room service.
Soooo, lets hope the rest of the trip goes smoothly, heaven knows we already went through enough trouble for the entire week, let alone the weekend.
Edit: So, turned out last night that they didn't put in my order at all... and didn't even bother to call me back and let me know. Around 11:45 I called back and they didn't have an order in for me at all... so I just gave in and went to sleep.
That's ok though... I didn't need to spend that much on 'omg I just need food so I can sleep' food - wouldn't have been enjoyable enough for it. Also, we were supposed to get free breakfast. We weren't given vouchers for it. :| Sooo I just paid $15 for a buffet breakfast. Can't complain that much, it's a lot better than the $40 per person dinner we would have gotten last night.
We would have missed the flight... If the plane had ever arrived to begin with... Turns out, it was still sitting in Chicago. So! EverFree NorthWest
Posted 13 years agoBoyfriend's convinced me (which didn't take much cause I'll follow him around like a lost puppy) to go to EverFree NorthWest with him.
It's a brony con, in Seattle. It's supposed to start today, but we couldn't get an affordable flight so we leave at 4PM today... sooo! I'll be back sometime Monday, I'll probably feel SO DEAD, but I'll be home... 3 hour layover in Chicago O'Hare. :| I am not looking forward to this.
On another note, I got some commissions just now so when I get back I'll have stuff other than chat poses and random failbackgrounds to put up! :D
See you guys on the flip side!

Poor kittybubby.
Posted 13 years agoSo, we'll start by saying, my cat knows scratching the carpet is bad. She immediately knows she's in trouble, and runs as soon as she hears any noise. She has a scratching post, and she looooves scratching it.
So, it'd been weeks since she scratched the carpet. We live in an apartment, so obviously scratching anything but the scratching post is bad, ESPECIALLY the carpet...
Guess what she does? Right beside me, between me and boyfriend, in plain sight, just starts going to town on the carpet as hard as she can...
Obviously, this is not cool. She immediately runs as soon as I turn my head, and books it for the back room. I quickly catch her and immediately turn on the shower and put her under it (getting her back and sides of her legs wet), turn off the shower and leave her in her safe room (got her litterbox on one side, fountain-water bowl and bowl full of food on the other, with places for her to perch and groom herself off)...
I give her thirty minutes to dry herself and clean up, and go to open the door and let her out.. and what streaks past me is matted in kitty litter..
Now, my cat is a digger. We have a covered litter box because she digs with all her might in her box. So it's obvious, right after she got wet, she decided to go in her litter box and dig around. There was litter packed into her paws, stuck under and on her fur all over except her face (cause I didn't get anything wet above the neck, just her back, feet, and probably her belly from when I was putting her down).
So, it's been a few years since she's needed a bath at all. Cats take care of themselves in that regard, all I've needed to do is brush her undercoat out. So I don't have anything other than what I use to bathe myself... which, at midnight, leaves me with a bar of Irish Spring soap, or Head and Shoulders shampoo.
After catching miss kitty, I opted for the bar soap.
What's sad is, though she fought me initially in the bath tub, after she got wet and the kitty litter off and I started to massage in the soap (because OMG she smelled like piss @_@), she actually relaxed and let me soap her up and rinse her off, even stood in the water while I got a towel for her, so I could towel her dry.
And now here it is, almost eighteen hours later... and she still smells like Irish Spring soap.
Don't get me wrong, I know I shouldn't use it to wash her, but I had no choice at that point unless I wanted a cat that smelled like piss, but she smells so good. c.c
I'll be getting some regular cat shampoo at some point, but I don't plan on needing to bathe her again any time soon. I try and save baths for when she has fleas or... well, now also in case she's covered in urine-soaked kitty litter? I don't know... basically, fleas or terrible smells. And I'm not predicting either any time soon (she's indoor only, so there's only so much that can happen).
But yeah. That's what I've been up to. Just random journal post here.
Also, I feel bad that this happened to Bellekitty... even though besides the initial getting wet (and the bath), she did it to herself.

Back from AC
Posted 13 years agoWas a good time, even if I only got to be there for two days. Left realllllly late, ended up getting to the con 30 minutes before reg closed on Friday (9:30 PM). From there, we decided it was best to go to the hotel and check in, and pack things away, since I had to get some sleep due to having a table in the Alley for Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday, woke up and had a good breakfast at the hotel, then drove over to the convention center and booked it on up to the doors to the dealer's room and alley... where there was already a substantial line. After waiting in that line for what seemed like ages, I get turned away at the door, due to not having a receipt book... didn't see any table out there to get one, but was pointed in the right direction. The sign for the table was hidden away behind two people sitting at the table and a group of people standing around it... kind of similar to every other table out there at the time, so it didn't seem special. Perhaps next year they could move the sign to the left side of the table, where it's more visible. :P Then I won't feel dumb.
Well, finally got in and got my table - it was a pretty good day, got five commissions, though most of my time was indeed sitting and trying to interact with people, who seemed disinterested in my stuff in favor of people with colored things. Funny, that. The past few years I've gone to AC, no one wanted colors. It was always sketches. I got tired of carrying around the case full of stuff, so left it at home this time... Lo and behold, four or more people on the first day ask me if I can do badges/colored pics. :| Where were you guys the past few years? xD If I had known, I would have brought them - really! I just thought I had learned from prior experience.
So, after the alley, I waited in line to get paid - and I must say it's a much more efficient system now. Instead of the line taking almost two hours to get paid when in the middle of a line, I was passed through the line in 45 minutes - and I was near the end! Huge improvement.
Went up to the zoo after that and wandered around looking for someone, but didn't find them. Ended up sitting and drawing ponies for my boyfriend (pics in gallery) - since I didn't have examples of ponies other than the ACEO that I sketched on Saturday. Finished that up, made one last round, and then decided to hit the proverbial hay.
Too bad the room smelled like someone had been smoking crap quality weed right in our room. :| Seriously. I was ready to crash and open the door to the skunkiest smokey stench I've ever encountered. Called up the front desk and they moved me from the first floor to the fifth floor - fine with me, cause it smelled nice and fresh, and had fresh towels (looked like our "cleaning lady" just tossed the ones we used up on the hanging rack) to take a shower before going to bed (since I smelled like the Con. Needed desperately to hug my soap at that point).
Slept pretty hard that night, and woke up to some more awesome hotel breakfast (well, pretty decent. Nothing can beat fresh waffles though, but it's hard to find those places and it's weird to ask "do you have a waffle maker at the breakfast bar?" when booking a room), packed the car, checked out of the hotel, and headed back to the convention center. Went back to the Alley after getting my receipt book, and decided to take up residence in the same spot I was in the day before - hoping someone was wanting to get back to me and just couldn't find the time on Saturday...
That's when I noticed... there were three people (myself included) sitting on the far side of the Alley.. everyone was coming in on the first row, walking down between the second and third... and then leaving. Without even walking by me. This went on for a good two hours before others started actually showing up and sitting down on the fourth row of tables. That'll show me, to try and be considerate and help people remember who I am. :P Next time I'm just bringing Hashbrown and he can sit on my head so it doesn't matter where I sit - I'm the girl with the fox on her head... unfortunately, I did not bring him, partially because he needs a bath and partially because I just didn't think about it.
Well, after a really slow day (but a couple of great customers, and a lot of people getting my contact info), we decided to drop in to the Sonoma Grill and eat...
The food was delicious, don't get me wrong... but I won't be eating there again. $120 for two people is... a little rich for my tastes. I'll stick with Carrabas or a steakhouse.
Unnnfortunately, I knew about thirty minutes before the alley closed that I was crashing - and hard. My face was apparently so flushed, my boyfriend could tell from the end of the table rows that I wasn't feeling well. I hadn't eaten since breakfast and hadn't had anything to drink at all since I sat down. Eating and drinking at dinner helped a little, but I still feel like a train wreck. My sinuses are going nuts, my feet are raw (nervous bouncing on my toes while sitting down), my wrist is killing me, my back aches, my butt aches and my head is pounding. Been sneezing and coughing a bit too. So... any bets on "concrud" with a dash of "overworked?"
That's been my weekend. I'm back home, my kitty is SO happy to see me (she's drooling everywhere and nuzzling everything) and all I want to do is curl up in bed and not get up for a week.
Hope anyone else who went had a great time - I know I did. :)

AnthroCon-bound, soon!
Posted 13 years agoJust a few more hours and I'll be on my way to AC. Everything's packed and ready, I'm just waiting for my boyfriend. :) Excitement!
:| So, I'm stuck inside a Falmer tent.
Posted 13 years agoYep. And there's actually NO way to get out.
I mean, I guess that's ok. Means I can reload to before my companion died.. but WARNING. If you're playing Skyrim and go to Blackreach, DO NOT ENTER THE TENT WITH THE SAW EDGES. YOU CANNOT GET OUT.
:( I got in by attacking the Falmer inside it (I should have figured something was wrong when HE couldn't get out!)... so yeah.
I had almost all 30 Crimson Nirnroots too. >C
And yes, this is a problem with all versions of the game. The tent is right beside a waterfall on the far edge of the map. :( If you're in PC mode there is a way to get out via "cheating" - and I hear you can get out if you power-attack another enemy outside the tent, but I have no option for that. *sadfaces at xbox*

dosfox will be there with me. C:

Artist Alley. I've got a table Saturday and Sunday.
Q: What/where will you be eating?
Um, wherever's available. Foodination is good.
Q: Will you be having a room party?
No. Absolutely not. xD
Q: Will you be drinking and/or getting drunk?
Possibly, but not in public.
Q: What is your gender?
Female
Q: How tall are you?
5'5"
Q: If I approach you, will you chat with me?
Sure. :)
Q: If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Um, generally eye contact, walking up and saying hi, or saying my name (Roc or Lar/Larth/Larthan will work)
Q: How many furry conventions have you attended?
Um... I was supposed to keep count? o.o;
Q: Do you own a fursuit?
Nope.
Q: Can I hug or snuggle with you?
I'd prefer you not if I don't know you.
Q: How can I find you?
I'll be sitting in the artist alley most of the time. Badge name's Larthan. Can't miss me. You can tell me apart from Larathen because I have boobs. :|
Q: Can I buy you drinks?
Um, if you want - but my Common Sense is tingling! I'd only accept something sealed. No open topped or cups or already broken seals.
Q: Can I look in your sketchbook?
Sure, if you want. o.o Don't got much in there at the moment, as I just started a new one.
Q: Can I draw in your sketchbook?
Only if I ask you to. ^^;
Q: Can I take your picture?
I'd appreciate being asked on a case by case basis here. Basically, no - unless I tell you OK at the time.
Q: Do you do do free art, trades, commissions, badges?
Not typically unless you're a friend. And I don't do it if you ask - asking is the number one way to never get free stuff from me.
Q: Do you have a table in the Artist Alley / Dealer's Den or a panel in the Art Show? If so, what are you selling?
I do have an AA table Saturday and Sunday - I'll be offering sketchbook commissions (pencil sketches).
Q: Do you plan to volunteer?
Since I'm only staying two days and in the Artist Alley most of the time, I wouldn't be able to if I wanted.
Q: What's your goal for the con this year?
Have fun, meet people I haven't seen in a year or more, make new friends, and hopefully sell enough sketches to pay for food. o.o
I don't see the latter working out that way though xD But we all make wishes now and then.

Rest in Peace, Brimstone.
Posted 13 years agoA friend of mine from the old town I lived in less than two years ago, has unfortunately passed away. You may know him as
brim or
sandulf. He was a kind heart, a great cook, and wonderful friend. I was looking forward to seeing him sometime during RCFM in the coming years. After the recent passing of his dear sister, he became aware of a heart condition that, ultimately, took his life.
I am happy that he was able to consolidate things with his family before he left.
I am happy to have known him when I did.
I am happy to have been able to confide in him.
I am happy to have been able to have him confide in me (though it was not often needed).
I am happy he is now in a better place.
May the wind be at your back, and the sun's rays guide you on. I will drink to your life tonight.

Pet Food Recall -CAT FOOD now listed!
Posted 13 years agohttp://www.diamondpet.com/information/
So, you all probably know about Diamond's pet food recall. Salmonella, spread over some states, blah blah. Right? Well. JUST TODAY they released that it's also cat food.
SO! If you feed any of the following, PLEASE check to see if you fall under this recall:
Diamond
Canidae
Kirkland's
Solid Gold
Natural Balance
Taste of the Wild
Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul
4Health
NutraGold
The states they claim are affected:
Alabama
Florida
Georgia
Indiana
Kentucky
Massachusetts
Maryland
Michigan
Mississippi
New York
North Carolina
Ohio
Pennsylvania
South Carolina
Tennessee
Virginia
Canada (what parts are unknown!)
Please guys, for the sake of YOURSELF and YOUR PETS, check these things! I'm going to get a new bag of cat food tonight, and staying away from Diamond for a while, since they don't have the prettiest track record (lots of contamination and recall incidents in the past). I've been suggested Merrick and Blue Buffalo (this one hurts the wallet though) - though I'm sure there are other good foods (no corn/wheat/soy) out there that won't break the bank.

So, yesterday.. (Avengers)
Posted 13 years agoBoyfriend whisked me away to the theater and we watched The Avengers. Now, I was going into it with high hopes, because the previews, well... were awesome.
And personally? They did NOT let me down!
I really enjoyed the movie, it kept me laughing and smiling (well, 'cept for when someone died, that's a given though) - they managed to make an action film that was at the same time funny and serious, and even ups and downs the whole way despite the constant bickering between the members of the team.
I personally have to say, I can't wait to see the next one. Thanos.. jesus they're gonna have fun with that one.
ALSO OMG PROMETHEUS. CANT WAIT.
ALSO OMG BRAVE. GOT TO SEE THAT.
ALSO OMG BATTLESHIP. SLKJBSSEGS.
SPIDER MAN NOT BEING WIMPY GIRL-OBSESSED BITCH? SDJGBLDFBSDF!
This year? Great year for movies. :|
Now I get to be paranoid that this year's going to make the next few years look like crap, movie-wise. :P

Damn it all, Larth, you airhead.
Posted 13 years agoA little while ago, I decided I was hungry and went into the kitchen.
I guess halfway there I forgot what I was doing, and when I arrived I decided to wash the dishes and tidy up a bit.
Now, about an hour and a half later, I'm sitting at the computer and suddenly my body goes "Hey, dumbass! You forgot something! FOOD."
And the boyfriend gets off work in less than an hour now, so I might as well wait to eat..
Go, me. x___x

A Notice about Role Play and your Local Dragon
Posted 13 years agoSo, some of you probably Role play fairly often. Some of you are really looking for a role play partner and think FA is a good place to look.
Well, while that may work for some, I am here to tell you, not everyone who has their contact information available, is interested in role playing with you.
You may be asking yourself, "Why, then, would anyone post their contact info?" - I am here to answer that question.
Some people post their contact information for people such as potential, current, and past patrons to have some form of quick way to get in touch for updates. This could also work the other way around - if someone has commissioned an artist, and has not given any way to contact other than FA, but that user has not connected in a while, using AIM or YIM or Skype might be a better, faster way to get the process going!
Now, what does this have to do with your local dragon? Well, I personally use contact info and provide my contact info, as a way to keep a connection with my patrons and sometimes, yes, artists I have commissioned.
Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think there's anything wrong with RP. Not at all. It can be fun, healthy, and just an all-around great past-time. But it's not for me. So please, if you're looking for an RP partner, don't waste your time trying to convince me to do so - I'm not interested.
Thank you for your time! <3
