MFF 2009 And Future Furry Art Plans
Posted 16 years ago
Kurst wrote this up for me for my mailing list. I figure it would best to re-post it here. Hey Kurst here – finally have some time to write out a letter to explain what is happening with MFF and Rog Minotaur’s Furry art.
First
Rog Minotaur Art At MFF (Midwest Fur Fest 2009)
Rog Minotaur will have 7 originals in the art show and a selection of prints in the art show. The originals are some past Rog Minotaur work that are either from Kurst personal collection or that were displayed at art shows in the past. All will be for sale again – and a great way to take home an original Rog Minotaur piece.
In addition Rog Minotaur art will be in the delear room that will have all your standard print needs. This year we have a variety of 8 ½ by 11 prints from Rog Minotaur’s years in the fandom. In addition we will have in the dealer and the art show some Rog’s larger formatted prints 16 x 20 pre-matted and ready to be taken home.
Unfortunately Rog Minotaur herself will not be able to attend this year which leads into the next segment of this e-mail.
Rog Minotaur’s future plans for art
Real life has been very hectic and with planning for the future it really drained us. We thought we could keep things up – a little slower – but still keep up but that isn’t happening.
So instead of trying to do multiple juggling at once Rog Minotaur will be taken time off for furry art to concentrate on real life issues and model horses. I am not sure which will be the next convention after MFF 2009 but we already decided that Rog’s art will be missing AC 2010. We also have no planned date for future art.
But all not bad. I will be working on updating Rog Minotaur’s site finally to have all the art up to MFF 2009 on the site, help out on update FA and have a large number of art there, and updating the email list with new art and announcements. We will continue to sell prints from Rog Mintoaur’s web site.
Also when Rog Minotaur decides to do any new art you will be first to hear it on this email list.
This will not effect my own personal commitment to getting out quality photos for reference materials which can be found here http://www.furaffinity.net/user/kurst or http://www.hyperyote.com/gallery/di.....hy_nature.html .
Thanks for understanding and will talk to everyone after MFF 2009.
Anthrocon!
Posted 16 years agoHey there,
Sorry for being a little off line but we have been working on art and redoing the web site so I haven't been posting to the mailing list or FA.
But good news have 6 new pieces of art in the Anthrocon 2009 art show! I am hoping you will take some time to look at them.
In the bad news I can't go to the convention this year but I have
Kurst putting up some of the new peices.
Hope you like them and hope to hear your comments about it!
Once things settle down I'll start getting the new pics up here!

MFF 2008 Plans!
Posted 17 years agoFirst there will be 6 ORIGINAL pieces by me at the art show - this will include these 2 16 x 20 pieces Barasingha and ......... Please take time to look at the art if you like those 2 adult pictures wait till you see some of the new G and additional art that we are putting up there! The pieces look so much better in person.
We do not know how many pieces we can put up in the art show this year - there is a much more limited amount of space this year there than before so we may only put a fraction of art that we usually put up there.
No matter what happens - I just hope the art goes to go home. I put a lot of time and effort into my work and I really appreciate when I hear that people appreciate it.
We will also have a table in the dealers room again. We will have a variety of prints and few other rarities.
And now bad news....
Because of the economy and other factors (but mainly the economy) I will not be able to go to MFF this year.
kurst will be there with the artwork and prints this year. Kurst will be able to answer ANY questions about art or prints. So feel free to ask questions to him and if you do have comments he will relay them back to me too.
I will miss being at the con but I am happy to have my originals and artwork pieces to be available for viewing at the con.
Thanks for understanding and I hope to hear from everyone soon!

About Last 3 Submissions
Posted 17 years agoYou might notice I normally do not often repeat characters in my art. One of my exceptions has been an arctic fox and an arctic bear.
The first two pictures (Arctic Friends and Arctic Naptime) were painted in water color in 2000. And I think they came out well.
So some time has past and in the last few years I wanted to see if I painted those two character again so I did this picture A Friend In Need As you can see it's interesting how art styles change over time. I don't know if i will do those 2 characters again.
Coming up quickly is Midwest FurFest. I am hoping to have some new pictures there that you like!
Cross your fingers and hope the paint flows smooth!
Back to the paint tube - and most important thanks for the watches, comments, and favorites. It really makes a minotaur feels welcome!

More tutorial Soon - Customized Bryer Micro - On Auction
Posted 17 years agoHowdy!
You might of notice the tutorial hasn't got part 3 yet. There is a good reason - it's time trying to balance real life job/preparing for MFF/and just trying to keep micro horses out little kitty paws and maws. So I will get back to it in the next few weeks. Don't worry there is more to come.
Which leads into the next point -
Some day a horse (FA LINK) has to leave it's stable. Some horses leave the stable for ebay .
For more information about Big Bart go to his FA LINK.
Why am I letting him go? A good close friend that is a furry and also makes her own custom horses and fantasy creatures (you can see one on sale at Fallen Leaves forums ) is having some problems and I wanted some way to help out.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

How I create art - Part Two Posted
Posted 17 years agoHello,
I got done with part two of my the work in progress on the swamp deer.
As I mentioned before I am still working on the picture but I figure people wanted to follow along with the progress.
I posted it in my scraps directory since it seems the most appropriate.
Hope this gives people an idea of the creative process.

How I create art - First Work In Progress Posted!
Posted 17 years agoI get asked from time to time on how do I make a picture.
Right now I am creating a swamp deer buck so I am going to take one or two work in progress pictures and post them in the sketches area with some comments on my process.
I have NOT finished the picture yet and will be working on it over the next week.
So I am not holding anything back ;).
Hope this helps people and I will update my journal telling you when the next entry is.

Variety It's Spice of Furries
Posted 17 years agoHello,
One thing I love about drawing furries is they come in so many shapes, colors, and sizes. They can be small or large. Thin as a rail or big muscle. Brown or sometimes even blue. They can be male or female. It makes it a lot of fun that I can do a variety of shapes and sizes.
Variety makes art fun!
Even though it’s hard for me to respond to all watches, shouts, comments, and favorite I just have to say to each and every one that did it. Thanks. I appreciate it more than you believe :)
Thanks for watching and hope I can keep you coming back for more!

One thing that is nice
Posted 17 years agoOne thing nice about posting up some of the older work is that I can go through and "remaster" them touch up the colors and/or get a few more specs out of the picture.
I know that people liked some of these before and being able to reshow them to a new audience is nice.
Thanks for taking time to look at my art.
And I will have some (real) new stuff this weekend up if people would like :)
P.S. yes the double post wasn't expected...

Policies on adult
Posted 17 years agoI had to think about this thought.
I will be posting both Male, Female, Male/Female etc art on FA coming up very soon.
Since FA filtering isn't up to snuff on that I have to ask that you just live with a sex type you might not like once or twice.
Please be understanding on this and hope you like the pics coming up soon!

Next piece is from this year I promise
Posted 17 years agoLike I mentioned before I am going to be bringing a few of my older pieces over.
But tomorrow I will put one of my more recent pictures that I just posted to the mailing list.
Not exactly acrylics that I usually use but more 3-dimensional.
Thanks for keeping a watch on me and hope you are having a great weekend.

Starting Here
Posted 17 years agoHello there!
As you can see I am starting to post a few things up on Fur Affinity.
Why I am doing this? It’s simple – a lot of my fans are on Fur Affinity and I thought it would be nice to help them see some of my art by displaying it here.
At first you are going to see a few older pieces posted here but soon I will be putting my newer, most recent stuff here. When I post it I will be doing some additional color balance so even the older stuff may look different than what I have posted already on the web.
It’s an experiment; it’s different than making your own web site or emailing of course. But I want to make sure my friends can enjoy the picture the way they like to.
Long term – All my work will be on my web site but if people like seeing my stuff on FA I will make an effort to get a large majority up here.
Thanks for stopping by!
