Posted 11 years agoMEME TIME BECAUSE I'M LAME
Posted 11 years agoYeah I know personalized shit is more interesting but I like filling out forms so CRY ME A RIVER AND MAYBE TRY TO IRRIGATE SOME LAND WITH IT we're in a water crisis here; that would be helpful.
Name: Kirah (my parents got the spelling from a waitress at Denny's, I'm class all the way down, y'all)
Nickname: Ruggy
Location: The DFW metroplex in Texas. This allows me to get away with saying "y'all" which is kinda convenient.
Age: 26
Height: 5' 6"? I think?
Zodiac sign: Harry S. Truman or Shrimp Cocktail, depending on the system.
Any pets: A miniature poodle named Wesley. :3 I'm not biased, but he is the best dog ever. (EVER.)
Fun fact: I can bark like an actual dog, in a variety of pitches, because I wasn't weird enough already I guess.
Identity, Sexuality & Personality
Gender identity: LADY
Sexual orientation: 'Bisexual'? 'Pansexual'? I don't even know what the difference really is. COOL PEOPLE.
Romantic preference: Cool people.
Relationship status: miriafox is pretty cool imo. <3
Myers/Briggs type: Is there a type that distrusts personality tests?
Routine
"Early Bird" or "Night Owl": Sometimes I try to be both, like an idiot. Night owl that stays up so late it morphs into an early bird?
Bath or shower: I like to roll around in the dirt, like elephants. (For real though, baths are sitting in grosswater, I never really feel clean after.)
First thought in the morning: 'Ugh.'
Last thought before falling asleep at night: 'Boobs.'
School/Work
Do you work or are you a student: Working to pay off my time spent as a student. Excuse me while I weep in a corner.
What do you do well: Uh, I guess I'm resourceful? I'm good at fixing problems when they crop up at work.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years: Still soul-crushingly poor in the most attractively-painted refrigerator box you ever did see.
Habits (Do You...?)
Drink: Not much, really.
Smoke: Smoke what?
Do drugs: No, officer.
Exercise: Heheh. Yes. Yes I do.
Have a go-to comfort food: Tomato soup. I don't know why. (Yes I do. It's delicious.)
Have a nervous habit: Pickin' at skin. Super gross.
What is your favorite…?
Physical quality (in yourself): Uhh. Kickin' hairstyles? I guess?
In Others: Eyes. <3 (I'm such a girl, whatever.) ... Also butts.
Mental/emotional quality (in yourself): I'm generally pretty unrufflable. I ain't got time for bullshit and tend to keep a level head in emotionally charged situations.
Food: Sushi sushi sushi? Sushi. Sushiiii.
Drink: Unsweet iced tea, but I'm picky about it. (If it comes out of a soda dispenser it is not tea.)
Animal: Dogs. Boring choice I know, shut up they're awesome I love themmm.
Artist/Band/Group: Ask me to pick a favorite child, why don't you? >:I Top 5 tho: IAMX, Nine Inch Nails, Muse, Florence + The Machine, Imogen Heap. Also Amanda Palmer is my role model.
Author/Poet: Neil Gaiman or Terry Pratchett.
TV Show: Avatar: The Last Airbender, or Sherlock.
Actor/Actress: I guess probably Benedict Cumberbatch just because he's also an excellent human being? I'm pretty bad at paying enough attention to actors/actresses to have a favorite.

What do you get out of art?
Posted 11 years agoJust a general, open-ended question. Whether you just like to look at it or you make it yourself, what do you get out of visual art?
Is making art something fun to do, or some compelling drive that's never quite fulfilled?
Do you look at it because it perhaps makes you smile for a moment, or do you see something else in it?
I have my own answers, but they've been fairly muddied by a deep sense of shame and inadequacy that I developed going through art school. I'm curious where others stand.

Tumblr? Tumblar? Tumble-arr. A question!
Posted 11 years agoI have a question for y'all! Those of you who use tumblr, either for your own art or to interact with artists, what kinda stuff do you guys like to use it for or like to see on others' blogs?
I made myself one and I'm primarily planning to use it for any sketches, studies, or WIPs I feel like sharing, but I don't know what other kinds of stuff art folks might use Tumblr for.
I suppose I could also post finished pieces as I finish them, though it does start to feel redundant uploading a single piece to three or more sites. Do people get tired of that kind of thing?

Reclaiming an Old Account
Posted 11 years agoI made this account when I was 18. 8 years ago, or so.
Things have happened since then. I finished college, burnt out on art, spent years not drawing anything. Found myself interested in drawing furries again (somewhat reluctantly) and made a new account with the most impersonal name I could come up with. gorgonops is what I came up with.
Then, I dunno. After a good half a year, some combination of "gorgonops" being stupidly hard to turn into any kind of good nickname and missing my old one prompted me to check and see if I could get into this account. Which worked out, clearly.
So I'll be using this account from here on out instead of my new-old one.
I'll also be moving over a few of my favorite pieces that I've done within the past year (not everything, though, in an effort to not be annoying.) I'm not deleting my old work that I had on here, either, but I did move it all to Scraps.
