I’m not normally the chattiest person nor do I use journals more than once a year, but I thought I’d explain my name change a bit. Runa for all intents and purposes has been on the backburner for the last two ish years, due to how much of a headache she is for artists. I love her design, she’s beautiful, but display tablets don’t have the ability to discern many of her markings. There’s been countless cases of artists just not being able to SEE a marking I’ve circled, and that’s no fun for anyone involved.
I acquired Aetos as an adoptable from
volinfer last year and knew that he was going to be an excellent mascot candidate (note, my fursona is Hati and I do not really post his art, I think I’m over a year behind?). Volinfer worked with me to modify the design slightly, just with my standard focus on functional realism anatomy. Bigger keel, wings set back off the shoulders instead of stacked on them, thicker back legs, bigger wings of course, etc. as well as one minor color change. He’s absolutely beloved by almost everyone that sees him, even non furs, and due to being relatively simple in design with high contrast, he’s easy for artists. Though his highly specific anatomy can trip some people up, he’s got great refs so there’s never any snags.
About his functional realism anatomy- His keel is definitely too small to support sustained flight but I imagine he’s able to leap onto prey from a distance and glide with a flew flaps to extend his airtime. Or glide down from a higher point. Possibly riding thermals as well.
Anywho, he’s a good skycat and the name was available. I don’t expect to do much more Runa if ever, unless Truegrave wants to do her. He never has any issues (1-2 edits max). That’s all the rambling for today.

Meinir Ideas and Suggestions?
Posted a year agoHey guys! I don’t normally use journals or do the whole “social” thing with social media most of the time in this hobby, but I thought I’d put some feelers out here. Meinir, based on her numbers, has been a big hit. She was intended as a soft replacement for Runa, a versatile design of about the same complexity but with significantly easier to read colors. This was a success and, comms with her are consistently very low edits. Runa has problematic markings that are difficult for a lot of people (unless you’re Truegrave!) to discern from one another.
She is here to stay as my main canine character. Thrayn is still the main dragon of course. She won’t go anywhere.
To get to the point, what would y'all like to see with Meinir? At the moment I don’t foresee anything else this year bar her one pending commission, but 2025 I want to try to get one every other month for her, assuming the hobby budget allows.
