Itch.io caves with unannounced snap delisting of NSFW games.

Itch.io finally has a statement and it's lukewarm like you'd expect.
I have written too many words tonight on this topic and simply will say this: Patreon is next, expect Furaffinity's revenue stream via FA+ to be on the eventual chopping block.
The US Congress is going to try to push a federal bill that will change the definitions of "Obscene Content", turning the internet which depends upon US information infrastructure and US Companies into a hellscape of mass purging of queer content.
I have said, since 2023, that this would be coming. I have maintained that the US holds a lot of leverage over the internet and for good reason, and shitty little children every time I have tried to post about this outside of my spaces have always barked back with "that's bad for business" and no, it fucking isn't. You don't get it.
VISA and MasterCard are mandated as the final arbitrators of almost all Electronic Commerce on this planet that matters for substantial revenue generation. This is because of the SWIFT International Banking System, of which those two sit at the top wielding their power for profit generation and lending it to US Social Conservatives to damage queer expression and sex positive discourse so-as to fit their Theocratic agenda.
We know this as Project 2025, but in 2017 it was called Project Blitz. Blitz largely failed overall, but look at today's environment. E621.net is going to have to move states pretty soon because of Arizona's ID Law; Patreon implemented ID Checking despite their vast sum of banking information being entirely sufficient to identify individuals doing business with them, and now the entire global adult industry is looking to Steam and Itch.io and going "welp" because both immediately caved and began pruning their content of "Obscene" materials.
This is it. This is what I said when I said we would be wiped off the fucking internet, this is the attack vector. I wrote about it in 2023, I've complained about it with each little step, it has not been abrupt insofar as the escalation, only the impact on each individual target.
Notice the pattern. Like a light switch, they just flip your platform off.
Save your files locally. Torrent to peers what is lost if you have it. We have to archive ourselves because no one else will do it.

Allegedly, the National Holiday is actually Riolu Day
Posted 4 months agoOver on Bluesky I read that today is somehow Riolu Day. Now, seeing as Charmander Day was a huge letdown but I'm marking it on my calendar, if this is also a thing I'm gonna do that too because Independence Day is fucking lame; hell ya'll stuck in the US reading this might not even celebrate it any more in a few years with the State of the Union.
I fucking despise what the government of the US has managed to become with such a small amount of time. We're not even six full months into this shitshow, I want you to consider that. We don't hit month Six until the end of this month; two and a half weeks from now. Oh and those Tariffs are still coming in hot, since the 90 day pause Trump enacted is expiring and either (1) TACO happens and they needlessly put the US on the backfoot internationally for all trade negotiations this entire year, or (2) TACO doesn't happen and we all get to find out what happens when you put a 300% mark-up on everything coming out of China that doesn't have silicon components or becomes a finished product in the US.
Recently, the Supreme Court has ceded loads of oversight actions in favor of giving the Dictator in Chief a pass on his illegal crackdown of migrant labor who WERE PAYING TAXES, WERE REGISTERED, WERE DOING THE RIGHT THING. If you call ICE on someone? You're SWATing them. But even worse, they won't just get mag-dumped by some jacked-up cop with a funswitch AR-15; they'll get beat, thrown into a holding cell with THOUSANDS of other people, then sent to a random fucking country they aren't even from. It only gets worse from here, IDK what the fuck we are all doing at this point, I don't think anything short of mass violence against ICE and MAGA is gonna be able to reverse course.
The best we can do is show the DNC they're still not interested in what actual Americans want. This new fella in New York's mayorial race by simply existing has shined such a bright light on the corruption and bullshit of the Duopoly between collaborator DNC establishment and the RNC's Trump-huffing bullshit that it might as well be one big party of fucking retards (pardon my french) running the goddamn country, eagerly waiting for the King to tell them what to do. I think it's hilarious that people are unironically thinking this guy is a full blown Communist, that somehow he's an Islamic Extremist and Antisemite, like bro, he posted materials for his pre-primary lead-up in YIDDISH in New York to reach the Jewish Community. That isn't something you just do to spread bullshit, that's real campaign strategy by someone trying to reach a very niche population.
The whole rotting structure is coming down and the worst is yet to come. The recent budget bill is offering such incredible benefits to the average American that about $100/mo in Food Stamps is being cut and $700/year in additional taxes are coming to the lowest earners in the US. This is without accounting for insurance rates spiking, medical coverage being dropped, new work qualifiers for coverage under Medicade/ACA (which btw cut counter to the low income requirements), and broad defunding of rural hospitals. We had a wimpy parade on Trump's birthday showing off how fucking lethargic and under-prepared our military is for conflict whilst also giving people more and more reason not to feel any fucking passion for the country.
If you're stupid enough to celebrate Independence Day given the current state of affairs in the US, I pity you. There's nothing about this country to celebrate, except its accelerating decline into an oligarchical non-democracy the likes of which only our peers in Russia can fucking produce.
Thusly, it's Riolu Day for me.

E6/21 Day and Comments
Posted 4 months agoJune 21st is E621 day, because y'know, in the US the date reads as "06/21".
Hard times ahead for the E621 administration and staff, since Arizona's new law that requires ID for access to 18+ content websites hosted in the state is going to require them to move. Not might, will. This is because E621 cannot guarantee the safe handling of that kind of information, no matter the vendor of choice, and the decision to move comes with the knowledge that the next state they choose to host within will have fresh prying eyes that cast a shadow over everything on the website. Whatever the state they move to, it will incur costs that the organization alone probably couldn't handle. Much of the hosting and financials are handled by Bad Dragon, after all.
Without exception, a significant archive of the Furry Fandom and broader non-furry internet's content and culture is preserved on E621. This makes the organization and its operation worthy of public scrutiny over its policy though, E621 is notorious for using outdated terminology to refer to intersex and trans characters/individuals in the content it hosts. The 'tag what you see' rule comes with many compromises and harsh judgements, and ironically the slurs of 'cuntboy' and 'dickgirl' are far more visually oriented than fringe biology terms like 'gynomorph' and 'andromorph'. Both terms date back to about the 1970's, describing Animal Mimicry, a mating adaptation in which animals such as octopods mimic the sexed displays of opposite sexes so-as to get close to mating partners in a contested environment.
If that clinical description doesn't make your skin crawl yet, think about the context of applying it to another person: "you're dressing like a lady to get close to women". Sure, that might be true in some cases, but the obvious transphobic talking points write themselves. People express themselves through characters they draw, and bluntly, I think it is fucking inappropriate to describe that kind of expression with a term that itself is hardly used in evolutionary biology text! When I was studying EEB we'd usually just say 'sexual mimicry', because 'Andromorph' and 'Gynomorph' imply specific organism composition to mimic primary and secondary sexual features. I'd not even heard the term again for nearly ten years until E621 adopted them. That's my beef, without even touching the 'lore' conversation: we have meta-textual information required for many such hairsplitting conversations (EG: knowing who owns a character copyright). If you can do that, you can differentiate between transgender, intersex, nonbinary, and conventional heteronormative gender presentations without sounding like a fucking cunt.
I have more complaints about the old guard operating the website, such as their remarkable precision and imprecision in descriptions, my favorite being the 'animal humanoid' because it barely distinguishes itself from 'anthro' characters, meaning you get a lot of elf girls with horsecock and no offense elf girls but get your flat-faced monkey ass out of my goddamn dragon porn. Inconsistent tagging is of course a user problem and the volume is impossible for the moderation team (which is not paid, AFAIK) to keep up with, but I think the problem is all the more noteworthy when something's been up for a long time without tags that actually describe the content period. There's also inconsistent quality enforcement, some moderators apparently just hate my artwork (and the artwork of peers) while others rubber stamp low quality shitposts from popufurs. We also have that funny conversation about the 'young' tag and navigating the encroachment of obscenity law, but that's something I can only say so much on here https://cohost.org/RunawayDanish/po.....s-obscene-the" rel="nofollow ugc noreferrer noopener">seeing as the internet archive is hosting my old Cohost Essay on the topic. Despite FA reversing course on it's policy decisions in recent months, much of the wounds opened remain fresh.
E621 is not perfect, like most things, but it is a critical piece of infrastructure for queer expression and that warrants appreciation and critique. It's wild to me to consider that I'd written about current crises of judgement in 2023 with incomplete knowledge that the US political system would enter a catastrophe this year. Sometimes, calling it don't feel so good. Happy E621 day, happy pride month.
Oh and a late happy Juneteenth for my folks who appreciate the highlight, ya'll are special, thanks for being here.

E621 will need to Move, Shut Down, or Comply with new AZ Law
Posted 5 months agohttps://action.freespeechcoalition......izona-hb-2112/
Heads up. E621.net likely to shut down in 90 days, or move (it sounds like move, but nothing is in stone atm). The Az Governor did not, in fact, veto (the bill which would require ID based age verification systems).
We're facing two federal initiatives meanwhile. The first is the Kids Online Safety Act or KOSA, and the second is currently called the Lee Bill which seeks to expand the definitions of Obscenity Law and remove legal protections for artistic merit and court defense of Obscene Content.
This stuff is real for fellow US Citizens, and anyone who depends on US Server hosting. This includes Furaffinity, Bluesky, Twitter, Tumblr, and I think Weasyl, Furrynetwork and SoFurry are all also based in US Server infrastructure. Internationally hosted sites like Inkbunny.net will require a VPN.
Obscene content includes an awful lot of the stuff on this website, meaning that anything US based that hosts furry porn, gay porn, ABDL, etc. etc.; Of course, there is also talk about banning peer to peer encryption and VPN's...
The last time this topic was discussed was in 2023 with the RESTRICT act, it was part of the RNC's pressure to ban Tiktok. Cnet.com has an article about how that initially went down., and Forbes talked about how VPN usage initially failed to circumvent the ban.
The fandom may need to go to ground or go international. That could be happening by end of year.
Decentralize your Online Alias TODAY. Archive the things you like, no one else will do it.

The Federal Government is going after your porn (again)
Posted 6 months agoFrequent Fliers to E621.net will have already seen the Arizona State ID Law that is waiting on the Governor to sign/veto it. However, we have a much bigger, much more ugly fight coming up.
The Article I read: https://dailycaller.com/2025/05/08/.....porn-industry/
IDK about the Daily Caller as an organization, I saw a Washington Post article about the bill from April 10th, and am digging for other mainstreamish coverage. So, that lead me to check out Senator Lee(R, Utah)'s page.
The Senator's Page: https://www.lee.senate.gov/2025/5/l.....-across-states
I hate doing posts like this, but things keep happening so if you're in the US you need to put in your letters and phone calls to your representatives. I'm sure Demand Progress or whatever will have a campaign going for it soon.
This will of course have international consequences. If we kill the Miller Test the current precedent in the courts basically exists to allow the acting parties (such as state governments, any soccer moms, etc) to sue website companies for hosting Obscene content. What counts as Obscene depends on the Miller Test in the court- but if we remove that test, you don't really have to prove it very hard. The Miller Test requires effectively a Jury of your Peers to rate your content, it has a few other elements to it which basically make it a SHITTY but known variable.
Removing the defense entirely means the government can use the overly broad definitions to just splash whoever or whatever with a claim of Obscene Content and the courts wouldn't have to even consult anyone else aside from the defense, who would have no case. https://www.justice.gov/criminal/cr.....-law-obscenity
Read about the existing Miller Test, think about how broad it is, how shitty it is, and then remove the specifics and read the overall definition of Obscenity. This was used to run porn shops (brick and mortar kinds) out of business in the 1960's. It's oldschool fascistic censorship of free expression while claiming to defend kids, and that's obviously bullshit.
Be ready for this. It could be on us. Save your shit, save shit you like, and maybe even get ready to close up shop and cover your tracks. If it passes, NSFW Patreon is gone. NSFW SubscribeStar is gone. Hell most things that are ART that are remotely queer are liable to be stricken down without having to remove Section 230. Every website doing business or being hosted in the US has obligation to comply with Obscenity Law baked in.
By expanding the definition of Obscene Content and removing the protections that the courts might entertain, the MAGGOTS want to fucking destroy your hobbies and community spaces. This affects you.
If you're in the US, consider writing to your Senators and Representatives. If I see a web campaign with generated letters happening, I will update this journal and repost it.

Oh, well, fuck Inkbunny I guess.

I guess Inkbunny's admin GreenReaper is fine with transgender folks being persona-non-grata on his website that already faces plenty of controversy caused by a lack of leadership and general idiot policy decisions.
Good riddance, I hate to say, thought crimes ain't exclusive to IB (especially with FA's policy reversal in mind) and the furry fandom is almost assuredly better off without it.
What a disappointment. Makes my 2023 protest art of FA's policy sting.

Posted 8 months agoSo apparently the alt-right is doing an anti-trans day thing tomorrow.

I'll work on something Transgender Wrath themed, will hopefully have it ready in time. Please consider joining me, spread this message around too to fellow Trans artists.
I want this to become a thing. Please convince your trans friends to participate!
#TransDayofWrath is the tag I wanna use okay please be cool and share.

Slava Ukraine. Glory to the heroes. Death to the invaders. May the spirit of democracy and consent of the governed survive this decade.

Thread related, I might actually start going by Tetran this year and I don't know if I'll commit, so small-scale testing may happen first. It's weird to think that I'm gonna actually commit to the change, kind of freaks me out to be honest.
It'll help people be less confused about my OC's though, since Tetran is a Rat-turned-Raptor and Zano is a very large space bug. I'm sure he'll forgive me for being further relegated to his own little space to live, he deserves a nice retirement.

I'm a bit worried I'll be dead before I can do anything I've tried to do, and I wrote about my medical problems to-date. We started supplementing my day to day with 3000UI of Vitamin D, but the literature says my ass needs about 10k for 6 mo's for effect. I don't talk about Vitamin D at all in this bigger writing, but like my hopes for Estrogen HRT to help me claw function, I'm hoping slamming Omega 3's and Vit-D can help me get just a little more time. I just need more time.
I'm 32 and I'm scared because my nervous system is disintegrating.
Everything is so hard.
[small update] This is all to say that for people who I owe work to: you're going to want to write it off as a total loss.
Zoop has encouraged me to just let my backlog expire, and I think going into 2025, I have no choice but to let it go. For patreon/subscribestar rewards that I've maintained an accurate count on a per-person basis since 2022, I just don't have the capacity. I can't even do the things that matter the most to me, I've posted so few pieces to FA this year because 95% of the things I draw are little scribbles that take me too long. I want to have things to show, I want to have something that's valued, but that's just fucking stupid to want now.
I have the list. If I can do something for you, I will, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
A small edit for the sake of it: The urgent tone that I had written this in has a relative context if you don't know how Parkinson's and NDD's work. The part where I die (assuming I am correct about the diagnosis) is after plural years of gradual degradation, with an arc from onset to fatality measured usually within one or two decades (less without treatment, obviously). That said, if onset happened when I was 30, it seems unlikely I have much function to regain as we enter year 4 of my syndrome.

Still Trying (but just a little)
Posted 11 months agoLast journal wasn't good or particularly well handled by me, but I think it deserves to be said it took two full weeks to finally feel an interest for drawing again proper. I still don't feel great, I still have to probably end my business for a while, and I'm still not doing great health wise (no surprise there).
I have a Mastodon Thread going into my health a little, but the quick version is that I am fighting to keep myself doing creative things and existing in general. Much of the problem stems from disorders that are not quite Narcolepsy linked alone, it still looks like I'm just teetering shy of Parkinson's, a particular quirk with my sleep problems also has been identified as an early predictor of Parkinson's, as well as Dementia caused by Lewy Bodies, which basically is when pockets in your grey matter start to form.
I've had continued degradation of my day to day life abilities despite living with
Zoop , it's been hard to keep myself focused on anything in the first place since I get very rare opportunities to make things. Much of the problem stems from my brain state wobbling at the slightest disruption, and that kinda kills me because boy I wanna do things. I just, y'know, can't.
Recent news still is chilling my desire to make stuff, and I do really mean it when I say I am very fucking concerned about the direction the U.S. is headed.
Thanks for the kind words that people gave me. Use my linktree to get to my other places, right now I'm posting most on Bluesky and Mastodon, you can email me or send me a note here if you'd like to access my Discord server.

End of Transmission.
Posted 12 months agoI think I'm done posting. My artwork is a liability, the U.S. has voted for Project 2025 with resounding support. We can only vainly hope right now that transgender people like me will not be criminalized and openly hunted for sport. I recommend everyone start going to ground, make lurking a habit.
Please make backups, tools are available if you wish to download my work. I am on other places, but they will all be in low power mode and idle for the foreseeable future. Until such a time as it becomes clear that our online spaces will persist, I will be lurking. You will not see new art from me. You will not hear updates from me. At the most, you will see me comment on occasion.
If you voted for Trump and his lackeys, I don't have nice things to say to you. The man's policy platform is fucking insane, proudly wants to dismantle multiple critical social institutions, and will accelerate the war against transgender and intersex people in ways never before seen. We barely were allowed to exist under Biden's weak policy approach, and it's looking like pornography will be outlawed in the U.S. if these Project 2025 jackasses are given their way.
That's it for me. Assuming Trump delivers on his campaign goals and the recommendations of his theocratic allies this furry art thing is over. If my worst fears are realized, it is a liability for me to maintain any online presence. I'll be shutting down my Subscribestar end of year.
Goodbye.

Ship's sank. (many FA Admins and Mods Mass-Resigned today...
Posted a year agoHey everyone. Bluesky is the place to be, so I'll be making an account there sometime soon. I'll have another broadcast of all of my places to find me. I'm not sure what to tell people. The mass resignations come after Luffy was asked to leave, and it seems like they've taken many of their puritan puppets with them. Squiggles is now in the unenviable position of being the admin I think with maybe Yak repping old-guard? Hard to know.
I'd reach out to my contacts but NDA's and drama are afoot, if I get any info that isn't snarky or imprecise, it'd be painful to pull anyway. Instead you can read about this on the Bluesky Thread by Echoen, and based on the accuracy of several findings lining up with observations of mine, I have no reason to really doubt the broad strokes as correct. Grain of salt, important if true.
One thing that has come out of the horse's mouth is that FA was in fact dependent upon third party advertisers, like I had said it was in Summer of 2023. I even went back on that due to lack of insider information. That's documented here if you want to see it on the FA Bluesky directly. Seemingly, Bluesky is the place to be for the furry community and FA's now all but inevitable likelihood of closure is accelerating old fucks like me into joining on.
I'll be honest with you: it looks like Furaffinity is about to go under and do so to the tune of about $300k being extracted in a fucking rug pull. Some folks have previously estimated the start of next year, and this was based on the vague assumption that if FA was in serious debt it'd probably be fire-sale'd within about 90 to 180 days. We're closing in on 90 days, which will be about November 4th. Oh btw if you're in the U.S. don't forget to vote by November 5th.
180 days in this instance means about February 2nd, assuming 180 days since Dragoneer's passing. This site may go down unexpectedly and never return as a result. If you're not following Furaffinity's Discord, Bluesky, or Twitter accounts, you might miss it. I'll be mirroring this post on my Inkbunny, Weasyl, Sofurry, and Itaku accounts. I plan to open a Bluesky as soon as I can, assuming they're able to process registrations to the main server.
Here's my reminder of the tagline below linking to my Linktree.

A sad day for fans of Cohost
Posted a year agoFor over a year now, I've written and posted on the not-tumblr blogging website Cohost.org. Queer-friendly and mostly accessible, the website's skeleton crew of developer-moderators always had trouble.
If you're from Cohost, welcome. This is my main haunt, has been for 15+ years.
Spaces like Cohost.org are precious and rare, the Tumblr Phenomena took off because of Queer content creators flocking to and flourishing within a space that allowed for high rates of intimate interactivity, and Cohost was no exception to this model. While we joking called our viral posts 'getting severals' because of how small the audience was, it really was small and badly understaffed, underfunded, and underperforming. I felt moderately successful and had about 200 unique followers between my two blogs. I posted stories and interacted with a group that calls itself the 'Cohost Writer's Salon', where quite literally the transgirl population outnumbers every other demographic like 10:1. It's cool.
I have written works available for your reading on Cohost, some will not have places to be hosted such as That's Obscene which contains scathing and significantly researched details about the Queer Erasure hitting the internet in 2023; using Furaffinity's policy update from that Summer as a case study. That's Obscene! has nowhere to live, because it covers topics like the legal precedents which make Obscenity Law apply to your furry porn (such as how people convicted of possession of CSAM/CSEM are often given differed or lesser sentences based on plea bargains that criminalized possession of illustrations of underage anime grills).
You can't host that thing outside of Academic Journals and Queer Spaces which permit discussing the uncomfortable realities of the human animal. There's other things that are in my wheel-well like my own fiction which I will try to mirror via Furaffinity, but I have almost nowhere else for them as they often feature violence and sexual content in close proximity (also a key victim of Obscenity Law). They also often feature anthro characters in fictional settings with humans, making places like Inkbunny also not viable for hosting. It ironically also means my audience here won't find them as interesting.
My personal original fiction projects have suffered because of my brain problems, I can't work at the rate I want nor deliver on the things I want, and only now as I am settled in Canada with a sense of stability in my personal life do I find myself freshly looking for a home for my writing.

The end of an Era
Posted a year agoHarrowing news, the present owner and principle financier / figurehead of Furaffinity.net, Dragoneer, has passed. FA has announced it, you should be able to see that. I'm commenting today out of a sense of obligation, I do have respect for Dragoneer insofar as he is due. I will be mourning his passing, if anything for what it means for this entire fandom.
---
The House has gone Bust!
With
Dragoneer departed, Furaffinity enters a time of crisis.
As of 2022, FA's Revenue was below 60k according to Pennsylvania State's records. Registered in Pennsylvania as an Art Gallery, operated from Virginia possibly at one of Dragoneer's former private residences, and with servers I think in Los Angeles, California; Furaffinity's structure as an organization is certainly nebulous and difficult to pin. The future of the website now hangs in the balance, and we'll be seeing maybe in the next few weeks who the successor is. FA was bleeding Dragoneer dry, probably, as journals up until my review Fall 2023 suggested as much. I can't imagine the financial stress was good for him.
Since last Summer when the new AUP came out and we began debating the fine legality of pregnancy porn, Furaffinity has suffered huge bleeds of talent and major divisions. Closing the Forums in favor of a Discord Server was one of several steps of suppressing and minimizing public commentary about the site's direction, and by the time of his passing I think Dragoneer was largely a figurehead and principle funding source for the site's operation. Administration has continued to be largely unprofessional and unpaid, with scores of moderators expected to perform around 12 to 20 hours of moderation duties without any fiscal compensation or formalized employment. Since its original acquisition by Dragoneer in the early 2000's, to its fire sale to trusted friends at IMVU, to the sale back to Dragoneer himself, Furaffinity has undergone many waves of changes to policy and rules, it's seen the steady stymying of criticism, and it until last year still allowed Zaush to exist on it despite years of demonstrable bad behavior (involving coercive sexual favors).
Dragoneer leaves behind a twisted, difficult legacy that is a one of a kind story of a person who stumbled into leading an entire community through purchasing a website. Non stop allegations of corruption, countless examples of abuse of power, and a legacy of unethical conduct permeate Dragoneer's administration even during the IMVU years. It is a shame that the history is so twisted and confounded, as Dragoneer clearly cared deeply about the community and the integrity of its core online infrastructure, even if he couldn't do much to improve it. The unsteady future without Dragoneer's influence is, in fact, going to be hard.
I would recommend planning to export all of your Furaffinity information (Submissions, Journals, Favorites, Watch List, etc) as soon as possible. There is no clear (to the public) line of succession. I can't imagine someone like Yak ending up in control of the animal, and with Zaush out of the picture, the throne at the top of Mount Furaffinity is awfully empty.
Godspeed and good luck out there. Decentralize your online Alias, TODAY. Nowhere is by us. Nowhere is for us.

The sad, sad state of Zerg Porn in 2024
Posted a year agoBefore you ask, no this isn't me going 'Oh let me start drawing this again', it's more just an observation.
Search up the Zerg tag here on Furaffinity sometime, sort by most Recent. I'm not one to critique people's choices on character design on the record for scrutiny but a glance at the field today and you'll probably notice what I'm about to say: none of this shit is fucking Zerg. It might ape some aesthetics that look kind-of like the Zerg, it might be a Queen of Blades SC2 model but now with a Hydralisk Head, but almost nothing I've seen since quitting has ever really returned to even the in-game models of Starcraft 2.
Like, Troutsworth is the only person who did Zerglings decently, filling the gap I left the moment I quit the Zerg fandom basically right in 2017. Jealousy at the incredible popularity of that work at the time definitely didn't make quitting the Zerg feel all that much better, but it did at least tell me that the market still existed. These days though, it's mostly some bara dragon with some chitinous plates and antennae on him, hardly even close to proper Zerg design. It's vexing, to say the least.
It does however highlight something worth re-emphasizing: Blizzard strangled that fandom in the crib when Heart of the Swarm dropped and the damage has been utterly absolute. No one fucking cares about the Zerg, you gotta fuck up hard to make a game as big as Starcraft 2 have almost no meaningful porn impact outside of some C- Kerrigan garbage.
PS: Might be moving to Canada very soon, will keep you posted.
Edit: super cool to see people go 'omg i should draw this', so that's been fucking stellar <3

At last, the 2023 Transparency Report
Posted a year agoThis year's will be briefer than most that I've done, due to just how little I have to say about last year aside from being dead, all of my roommates moving away, and basically packing up shop in terms of commissioned furry artwork. It's frustrating being this mentally tempermental and largely incapable of working on any regular basis. I'm hoping that maybe once I get settled here in Canada, things will finally level out for me (for one, I can sit around naked here, something I think I like now, which is weird).
Zano’s 2023 Transparency Report:
2023 Gross Income: $8401.48 (Largely via Patreon, then Subscribestar starting in August)
* $5307.28 (63.2%) of which from Patreon Jan-Jul
* $1529.00 (18.2%) of which from Subscribestar Aug-Dec
* $526.97 (6.2%) of which from Commissions
* $98.50 (1.2%) of which from Itch.io sales
* $939.73 (11.2%) of which from Donations
This year's Taxes: $431 (5.1% of gross revenue)
Watchers as of 04/10/2024: 4073 (estimated 4010 +/-20 end of 2023)
Submissions as of 04/10/2024: 1818
Final 2022 Watcher Count: 3834
Growth since 2022: 239
That's it this year. Normally I include things like upload volume, most popular submission, so-on and so forth. There's just not as much to say this year, thanks to disability and the health issues just crushing my output. I'm still trying, and have new art packs to put up for ya'll later.
Here's where I plug my Subscribestar. To-date, I'm pulling in about 300-350usd per month in income. My husband
Zoop is helping pull the majority of the weight on emergencies, and every dollar helps. If you are a fan of my work, you might want to consider following the link below to my Ko-fi or SubscribeStar.
Since Summer of 2023 I've avoided posting on Furaffinity in part due to the chilling effect the AUP changes last year had on me and my perception of my own work. I talk about the politics of the matter on my Cohost more, covering U.S. Government actions, Patreon, Mastercard, and other organizations working to purge Queers off of the internet.
There's nothing good to say about it, if you're in the U.S., you need to think about how important your vote matters and how important your voice is. We can't afford to let *more* of these short-sighted Obscenity-focused "ID Laws" pass, they're not only bad for your privacy, they don't even accomplish the goal of 'protecting children from predators online'.
FA's policy changes last year are a small microcosm of the really narrow vision of the future many of these idiots have, and there's very little to say except: that was the tip of the iceberg. You can read That's Obscene! my essay about this topic if you choose.
Follow this link here to find me at my places (Including Ko-Fi and SubscribeStar pages).
[b]I still run a Discord Server for my fans / general social space. Please send me a note if you would like an invitation.

HEADS UP: PATREON SEEMS TO BE MASS-REMOVING FURRY ARTISTS
Posted a year agoI have a running tally on Cohost, you can see that BY CLICKING HERE.
Where: Patreon.com.
Who: Adult Content Creators using Patreon for crowdfunding.
Why: New Policy Change, regarding pornographic depiction of non-human genitals.
When: First notice reported to me 3 hours ago.
What: Adult Furry content creators (particularly furry artists and animators) appear to be in the process of being purged from Patreon after a grace period prior to the end of this billing cycle (you get funds after the 5th of each month). Virtually all instances I know of right now were notified by patreon that they had depicted animal genitals in pornography against TOS.
---
We're expecting the present purge to run from about April 5th today until April 8th Monday, which is when banks will resume processing charges. This looks like a classical "after business on a Friday" policy roll-out, intended to skip the news cycle entirely and covertly engage in the process without eliciting a response in time.
If you know of a furry artist, animator, or other adult content creator hit by this purge, please comment or note me with a link to their announcement journal so I can try to form an initial tally. I'll probably stop around like 20 or more, that seems like a fair quantity to assume I am right here.

Mourning Cohost before its buried
Posted a year agoAfter about a year of enjoying Cohost.org, it's become clear from recent history the website wasn't going to make it. They're looking right now at running out of funding in April, have no realistic alternatives beyond selling off or going gentle into the good night. Worse though is that Cohost's staff just lied by omission constantly, branding themselves as the good guys while practicing the same start-up techbro nonsense that other tech startups practice. Reading their report this month made it so much worse, they have less than 30 days I imagine before the site goes offline.
They talk a big talk about end-of-life for the site, but I know better. I have a Zoopquest coming up, and the transparency report to finish while I'm up there, but I want to comment on this before I do a busy two days of last minute to-do items and travel. Since May of last year when Furaffinity changed its policy, Cohost has been the only true vessel I've been comfortable discussing the topics I've discussed. I'm writing Queer Essays about pornography, Skeptical Essays about geopolitics, and Short Stories about whatever the fuck I want. I've interacted with some incredible writers on Cohost, and the number of Queer, Neurodivergent, and Trans people who have concentrated on the website is genuinely shocking. It'll be hard to watch it sink over the horizon like Tumblr before it, but its fate was decided by some of the most moronic decision making you can imagine, stuff that is even dumber than how Furaffinity is a For-Profit LLC illegally making use of unpaid moderators.
I'm too broke and brain-broken to be valuable to much of anyone for the things I used to be valued for. Art gets harder and harder, only coming back when I'm around my husband and I have a lot more hormones and neurotransmitters in my system because of known phenomena involved with being around a romantic/sexual partner and stable living situation. It might be as many as six more months before I can move in with him to the little box in Canada he's in. The problems with my health don't go away, they just change, and they've been changing a lot. I bleed every month inexplicably out of my ass, and the colonoscopy was inconclusive as it found no evidence of injury. The intersex condition I've got going on is pervasive and represents a full body disorder more complicated than the U.S., and maybe even Canadian, medical systems are able to handle. I'm scared I've lost a permanent part of myself here.
I'm badly indebted to crowdfunding supporters past and present. Gracious for the opportunity, the community, and the groceries and uber rides to doctors appointments covering support that exists to this day. I have so much more I want to do and say but my faculties are so variable it feels like nothing will ever get finished. Sorry about that. I am trying. People have seen bits and bobs of my writing, my continued work on the Zevash Codex, plans for Cold Empty, and I even started an off-the-cuff writing exercise called Ratgirl Isekai that I will port over here to Furaffinity in some capacity if I can. You might even like it, but the protagonist Z is my most divisive character I have ever written, so maybe you won't.
Another post later when I'm in Canada working on stuff.

December 2023 Updates
Posted 2 years agoHowdy all.
I know the last few months have been utterly wasted. I was amping up in March to maybe get backlog worked through, but that fell off a cliff as soon as I got home from Canada. It turns out my condition is such that I do actually need a little day to day TLC by
Zoop because my current "basically alone" that I have going at my parents' place is making me probably worse at keeping track of time. Sometimes I go entire weeks where the most noteworthy memory I have is waking up.
My health is a complicated mess. People should know by now, but if you don't, I have a severe form of Narcolepsy that is made worse by my recently uncovered intersex condition. The longer my body has gone, the bigger my boobs are and the weirder things are for me. I have periods now effectively, though out my ass. Every month some kind of unclassified bloody material builds up inside of my ass, causing swelling and constipation, then I'll have a day where all of the material sheds and I bleed like crazy. It upsets my stomach and causes a hormone crash which then exacerbates the Narcolepsy.
The only reason I'm not dancing on a Parkinson's diagnosis right now is because of this hormone cycle mirroring a female sexed person's cycle. If it wasn't for that weirdness, for my unusual sex characteristics and second puberty, it'd be so much easier to have the Narcolepsy treated. I'm a bit frustrated by this all, I lose the ability to draw more and more frequently, enough that sometimes just thinking about drawing makes me go limp. I'm at least in a currently stable living environment, waiting on a card to come from Canada saying if or if not I'm allowed to come live. We're over-due based on what our Lawyer's projection was, and if the CBC is to be believed, Canada's immigrations system is not gonna get to us until maybe March of next year.
This leaves me where I'm at, unable to deliver on artwork and desperately clawing what little productivity I can out of my decreasingly capable status. I keep kidding myself thinking I can just one day return to work, I don't think that's gonna happen. Right now my only income is provided via donations through Ko-Fi and backing via SubscribeStar, but it's worth a notation that the folks backing me are fine waiting for me to be able to draw anything in the way of owed patreon backlog from 2022 and 2023. I primarily am capable of writing, you should check out Cohost where I write a lot of different things, mostly essays about current events or Queer topics, often slash fiction on my sfw account too. Any additional donations are good, my income is under about $350/month which is survivable at time of writing but doesn't leave much for me to save, especially with my frequent medical bills.
I don't know if, or when, I will be able to deliver at long last on things people sign up for with my existing tiers via SubscribeStar and formerly Patreon. Zoop is coming down for the holidays which will doubtlessly lead to more art like I used to make. That Ghost Pizza picture happened when he was over. I will say that in a world after the AUP 2.7 update here on FA, furry artwork has gotten very hard to motivate because I'm just increasingly paranoid. I privately had been shocked when a former art cohort of mine called my charmander OC cub, and effectively accused me of that behind my back. I won't go into more as to who, it's behind me, but that left an extra bitter taste in my mouth about my work.
At this time, I don't plan to clear backlog off from 2022 like I originally planned. I had hoped to make meaningful progress such that it was at worst maybe one or two months of missing rewards... instead it's been an entire additional year. I'm running up a debt and am hoping that when the time comes to negotiate that debt I can deliver on something of a compromise for people I owe things to. The issue is, I have to prioritize people actively supporting me if I can even deliver on stuff, and most folks I owe things to now firmly sit outside of that camp. A few didn't even realize I closed my Patreon out in August over the company's Face-Scan technology, but I imagine more still are looking at my perpetual illness and cutting their losses. Valid, y'know?
I'm still around. But I've read the room on my condition. I want so badly just to work on stuff without getting dizzy, falling over, dropping my pen, or outright having to rush to the bed before I lose total control of my limbs. I wanna exist during normal hours like, at all. I wanna socialize. I wanna draw stupid porn. I wish so badly I could go back to my old self, but it's out of reach and I'm scared it'll never come back. I'm 32 in January. There's not much room left to sink, but worse the ceiling on my capabilities is getting lower, too.
I will attempt one last transparency report this year. It'll be ugly. It'll be sad. I hate living like this. Happy holidays.

BE ADVISED: PATREON MAY PURGE ALL NSFW FROM ITS PLATFORM ...

Please share whatever version of this news to everyone you know who relies on Patreon for paying bills. ASAP. This can have knock-on effects especially since Queer Creators who aren't doing pornography can still find themselves purged as a target of convenience.

Inexplicably reaching 4k watchers
Posted 2 years agoHowdy ya'll, thank you for 4001 watches (at the time of writing). I'm not sure where folks are coming from, my activity is basically nill at this point, but it's greatly appreciated.
You should check out my Cohost.org accounts in particular, my SFW off-brand one and my normal screen-name having NSFW one. Cohost may not be around forever, so get in there while the getting is good.
In the recent months, I've been exceptionally hard to work on artwork and I've been increasingly pouring hours into writing non-fiction and fiction over on Cohost.org. My essay about how the recent changes to FA's content policy makes life as a furry artist dangerous titled That's Obscene! is still relevant, as more and more artists have works removed from Furaffinity and find themselves migrating galleries primarily to Itaku.ee, Inkbunny.net, and Bluesky. With Twitter increasingly steaming towards a total NSFW ban (presently delisting nsfw creators, implementing a 1$ annual fee, feeding virtually all data on the site into machine-learning modules), and other Web 2.0 titans experiencing the squeeze, the internet's landscape has evolved this year in-line with some dire tidings of time to come. My concern is that Furaffinity's days as a refuge for sexual and queer persons may be coming to a close as puritan literalists fixated on even mild risk of thought crime purge effectively everyone who isn't an adult human with cat ears.
Glancing outside of Furaffinity though, is a world slowly unraveling from our globalist era of international trade and economic mutualism. While the current main conflicts in Ukraine, Palestine, and Middle-West Africa currently are known to many observers, there are yet more conflict spots slowly rising out of the aether. Chiefly, the South China Sea is seeing new escalations in Chinese Assertations of economic exclusive control, seeing the coastal waters of the Philippines as the potential hot-spot where tensions may flash into a larger conflict. There is also trouble in the U.S., as discussion about increasingly urgent need for intervention against the Cartels and Fentanyl trade in northern Mexico continue to drive U.S./Mexican Relations into murky waters. South of Mexico, there is risk of a new era of hostilities erupting in Venezuela, Argentina, and I think Brazil, as all three struggle economically and with nationalist populism.
It's hard for me to look at the state of the world and not think about my own dire health conditions in context. I'm increasingly scared of being dead weight, disabled adults have no value to wartime economies and if current events are to be interpreted pessimistically, that means even moving to Canada will not spare me much in the way of obligation to suffer. I'm also not sure if I am battling cancer or something more pervasively difficult to identify and treat, as my intersex related issues have come with a pesudo-menstrual cycle which sees me losing blood out my ass in startling volumes. Despite that, my blood remains mostly normal in lab tests (not even anemia from the blood loss), and unfortunately for me I'm running out of time and capacity to advocate for my medical needs. The narcolepsy is only getting more intrusive, robbing me of increasingly large stretches of time where I can think about, let alone do, anything.
It's all of this in context that I come to you to say: thanks for watching. I won't always be around, and I fear I might completely lose the ability to draw if I can't get this medical problem fixed soon. I'm also scared that even with treatment, pending circumstances external to my control or influence will cause any medical intervention to be short-lived.
I must remind you: Decentralize your online Alias. TODAY is the day. Nowhere is by us. Nowhere is for us.
You can go to my Linktree to see where I'm at these days. I also greatly appreciate donations via Ko-fi if people feel charitable, my monthly budget these days is less than $300 on average.

My patreon is closing down, going SubscribeStar only.
Posted 2 years agoHowdy,
My patreon which was helping me at least maintain existing long enough to push through illness and move to Canada is now going kaput. People have moved partly to my SubscribeStar but not consistently enough yet. I hope to see more there, but honestly it's just not happening any time soon that people will flock back. My output is crap, I'm still very sick and very busy with shit that is often out of my control.
I will maybe have my bleeding-out-of-the-ass every month disorder taken care of soon, but until then, likely to be quite a delay as always. I wanted to do so much more last week and I am perishing. Please support me if you want. Thanks.
