Posted 4 days agoI'm home now and getting settled in. The meet was lovely - The hotel staff were super involved and dancing with us even! Food and rooms were great, we were right next to a beach too.
Bummed my insomnia made me hibernate in the room most of the time but on the last day I finally got a decent sleep and had a good time!

Posted 6 days agoSorry for the art being slow again! I keep trying to work on things then feeling so tired and needing to take breaks. I've been having a bad bout of my usual insomnia the last while. I'm at Furrific and I'll be home by Tuesday, it's been a really nice time so far, but bummed out about the sleep troubles. I haven't slept at all last night, hours of tossing and turning and not much good coming from my meds.
I'm feeling pretty down about missing so much of the con being holed up in my room trying to get a rest, but it is what it is. I'd rather hide away than be a grumpy zombie dragging myself through interactions. You guys don't need zombie me!
I was hoping I could get some help to do a Dtd for modifying Ruster while I was here, but the sleep trouble has been making it so hard to plan anything. I'm just too tired...
Tomorrow there's a market, like a mini den, for just a couple of hours, so I'll try my best to get to that and hopefully not be half asleep. I didn't get a chance to finish everything I wanted. I bought a gacha machine a while ago with the plan to sell surprise adopts with it, but I didn't want to pack too much for a solo train journey. There's a photo shoot and a PowerPoint presentation thing today I'd like to check out, but I'm doubting I'll be feeling up to it. I've went to bed at 11pm, and it's now 10am and I've literally not slept a wink. I had some breakfast, but now I'm just back in the room.
Unfortunately my room mate couldn't make it as their car broke down. I hadn't met them before in person so was hoping to surprise them with a con badge I made for them. I'll need to see about mailing it out after 🥺
But, from what parts of the event I've managed to see so far, it's been really lovely and even the hotel staff are super pleasant! Here's to another one next year! The opening ceremony was so cool!

Big vouch for Scramtracking.org and their telegram channels, those guys are awesome for keeping on top of this stuff and warning folk.
I also found a few of my arts in reverse image search also showing on obvious reskinned sites trying to push scams like selling supplements or something :[
They seem to be taking a lot of old babyfur samples, oddly. The one in that pic, plus a few the Brittle Drite account stole, were old pics I drew a good close babyfur friend years ago. One of which I know for sure was a memorial sketch for a kitty who passed I did him as a gift, that only he uploaded to twitter, so they must be pulling old stuff from there. I quit twitter long ago, so maybe they think I'm inactive or something.
But - I notice in general the art scammers are also purposefully going after babyfurs a lot recently stealing from other bab artists - And I think this is because 1. It is on a lot of peoples 'no draw' lists due to stigma so maybe they think desperate people are more likely to fall for the commission scam and 2. It is often a very private and shy community, so perhaps they are betting that people will be too embarrassed to report it if they do get scammed.

I've been wanting access to it for a long while now because I really hate how so many other platforms I've used are full of those scammer accounts going around (The ones that scamtracking.org is good at catching). They are everywhere - I used to use fiverr back years ago to sell, and I can't recommend it all now because of it being overloaded with those same accounts. Not even just aimed at scamming buyers, but I remade my Fiverr a few months ago to see what it was like now, and right away I had about 5 pm's in a day from obvious scam accounts saying "I want to buy your art, but I can't get the order to work, can you go to this (*obvious malware link*) and do it this way please" - ugh! I know the forums on fiverr have had many people complaining about this for a long time. Back when I was selling, the main issue was there was so many stolen vectors being sold for 'gamer logos' and what not, and it's just gotten worse, with people using blatant stolen and ai art as samples all over the place.

I am still working on some other pics right now, but when I'm more free, I'll stick some more service options on there soon. I have an account on there, only just recently tried to revive it so it's really sad seeing this happen to them. Incredibly creepy seeing people threatening with using folks art for AI libraries, too, but I'm not surprised of that sadly. I've seen a lot of folk just put peoples stuff through AI to spite artists.

Posted 2 months agoHad a meeting with my Dr to talk about my struggles with my motivation, sleep, some other things - I'm not sure she really knew much about some of the issues sadly. I really wish mental health stuff was more covered here.
That said - my anxiety meds I took recently are giving me some odd side effects, so I'm stepping back from them and hoping I'll be back to normal soon. They're only meant to be temporary anyway.
It's funny to say also that the baseline of my experience is "on edge, jumpy, jittery" so much that taking meds that stops that makes the world feel... weirdly still. It's nice, but I'm so used to my 'normal' that it feels wrong. Maybe I'll get used to it. 😵💫
Now if only I can fix my insomnia, that one is still my biggest struggle.

Stalker issues
Posted 2 months agoHey guys, the person who has been harassing me and others a long while now found my bsky now so I'm expecting that will be a chain reaction of finding my FA too. Any other sites he's pestered me in he's been sending weird racial slurs, scammer accusations (and other nasty stuff like being an animal abuser and kid abuser, ugh), all sorts of nasty things. I'm at the point I'd really like to report it to the state police he's in because it's just clear for someone to do this for so many years you've got be ill and obsessive somehow, it can't be healthy living like that. Mental health struggles suck and I've definitely been at rock bottom but attacking others isn't the way to go.
The latest message I got was this, and before that, one claiming this artist was a scammer too. But it's at the point this dude talks such mad shit I'm taking everything he says as the exact opposite and going to assume sonie is actually really chill and deserves support. https://imgur.com/a/kzYVDaj
That said, on other sites he's went specifically after people on my following list to spam them too, so I'm really sorry if anyone gets any gross messages. I've got a bunch of bewares of other people dealing with him too over the years and it just seems to be a pattern that isn't going to change anytime soon, so best is just to try ignore it.
I know he often steals characters too, so, none of my characters for sale unless specified in the adopts folder (you can ask on others in my random Doodles but anything that's been sold I would specifically edit the description to credit the new owner because of scenarios like this) . I don't sell any of my sonas, even the old ones that have been sitting dusty and unused, because they have too much sentimental value to me.
He has pretended to be me and my partner on a few accounts before too and my boy is very private and I know he wouldn't say such horrible things, but if you see any accounts that look fishy please let me know and I'll look it over!

Posted 3 months agoI picked up a new microphone today, need to give it a test but it looks good. Better than the rubbish I had before for sure.
I was thinking of getting into streaming sometime, but because I like to listen to music and most platforms will mute it (I tried fb and youtube before and got muted. I know there's license free stuff, but I reeeally love my library), I noticed there is an option to stream via telegram channels. Has anyone used that before? Can people chat/reply on the streams there?

Files with adopts?
Posted 6 months agoWhen putting up files for adopts on places like kofi, what do you tend to include?
I've currently only got the full sized, transparent bg png files, some with alt colour schemes... But it's there anything else people like having?
I'm thinking I should include a txt file of contact info because someone bought a few, and I like to ask if there's any changes they'd want to colours or any edits in general. But they didn't reply to my kofi message so I worry if they didn't see it! Hopefully it just means they're happy with it as it is... They had a very vague username I couldn't find contact for either. I worry too much about everything 😓

I was never really into anime stuff much nor superheroes so most cons here just don't really interest me anymore, that seems to be the big two themes. The very rare retro game, horror and furry ones are great though!

Posted 6 months agoI got access to an old account of mine after years of losing the details,. thanks to the awesome staff. I will be reviving it as a dedicated place for harder kinks because I feel funny nowadays having them mingled in with my more 'tame' stuff here.

Posted 7 months agoHi, just to let you know there is an account going around telegram that has stolen mine and others art. This is not me! It's one of those accounts that's usual scammers from places like Nigeria so there will be many probably using these pics. My official telegram is @/rustervs

It's so weird to me how they got the little pic of the dog and angel kitty. That was a memorial pic I did a friend years ago for their kitty who passed away. I don't recall uploading it here....
It is sad that such huge scamming rings common in those areas of the world are targeting furs now. Example being sites like Illustratorshub. I feel for the legit Nigerian and Philippines artists who get caught up in it.

Posted 7 months agoI got word yesterday my mom has had a heart attack, and is currently in hospital getting tests done. It's starting to finally kick in now and I'm getting so anxious and shaky :(
I still have Scotiacon orders to get through that hopefully will keep my mind occupied best I can. But I'm so sorry if they will take longer than usual. I already feel behind more than I expected. I'm thinking it might be nice to get into streaming especially due to the rise of the ai and tracing scammers. Just for peoples peace of mind and all. Different with irl customers cos ill sit and doodle at my table all the time so they can see it's legit.

He's using one of my old icons on one of the accounts for his avatar. He's done this before pretending to be me and my partner on inkbunny and other places too.

Posted 9 months agoMy old stalker apparently has a newer account here and bsky and has been posting nasty things about me and other artists, and seemingly deleting or mods deleting them after, so I haven't fully seen what was actually said this time (though fragments appear on Google, ugh)
If anyone ever sees stuff like that just report if you like but first and foremost don't engage! I absolutely regret ever trying to be this persons friend when I was younger. They haven't left me alone in yearssss despite not replying to them at all and just blocking them out my life as much as possible. 😑 It is so so not worth the hassle even trying to talk gently to them.
Please, young and inexperienced artists: don't fall for this rubbish like I did and let creeps try to manipulate you into free art and have them try to ignore your boundaries. Once you start standing up for yourself they just get bitter realising you're not putting out free stuff for them anymore and seems they just want to ruin your image to everyone.
