Hello - I'm back from the con and it was great as usual. The dealers den went better than I expected and I have a lot of orders to keep me busy now.

I still have a bunch of originals for sale, some stickers, that painted skateboard deck, some framed stuff... I'll need to get rid of them somehow. Maybe an auction or something?

My lad had a great time as it was his first con too. Everyone was so nice to him!

I'll be at Scotiacon this week doing the early and late days with my partner, and also be in the Dealers Den on the reroll day. Come say hi!

They're on all platforms but I noticed on Facebook they are now editing old posts to add stolen art, trying to look more legit.

Press the 3 dot button on a post and check if it's been edited if you're suspicious. They really are horrible sneaky little scammers 😠

I used to catch these accounts with old pics like women in bikinis and such as they are usually repurposed from Nigerian catfish scam accounts, so you might see comments replying on the pics too sexually if you check.

I wish more sites and FB groups had this info out for people to take note of because they are everywhere now!

I'm having a bit of a freak out doing some last minute prep for scotiacon plus my partner coming over to visit in a few days, eep. Got all my blankets and everything sorted for the new bed- thats great. But still need to sort some other things around the house. Lots of printing out stuff and looking around for my folders for scotia to do. 😵‍💫 (The new business cards were mega rushed and the design isn't exactly how I wanted it, cropping is weird - but it has my bsky and kofi on it so that's what counts ;p)

I'm testing out dealing on the reroll at scotia this year rather than the full artist alley. I'm sorta regretting it - worried there won't be as many orders because of that. But we will see :)

Update on the spooky calls is what I expected - police came to visit to tell me pretty much that they can't do anything because the guy didn't specifically name me in the calls. They said running coms on the calls would be 'too invasive'. Very ironic wording, but hey.

Oh my gosh, finally! I've been begging for this for years!

A big reason I stopped sharing stuff like my snuff art on here was because I just started feeling weirdly hyper sensitive of upsetting other folk by accident if they seen it. I would hate to make people uncomfortable, and it just sucked there didn't seem to be a way to really help people filter that out. (I debated warning thumbnails, but really, who hasn't clicked something out of curiosity?)

I'll wait a little while for people who haven't figured out the block list yet, then might upload some :3

But I feel for artists who enjoy fellow communities that get hammered with negativity by passers by, the big one for FA being the babyfur stuff it seems. I hope with this finally being implemented a lot of folk can more exist in peace.

After trying it out, it sadly does seem to only blur the thumbnails but not actually completely hide the content like how inkbunny and other sites does. That's disappointing, but it's something.

PS. If you have Noscript like I do, turn it on specifically for FA or the WHOLE site gets blurred!

I just got a really creepy phone call - some horrible male voice saying over and over "ill kill you". - I hope it's just some stupid kid doing a prank call to random numbers but I've went and reported it to the police and to the phone carrier anyway. I hung up fast, so didn't know if they knew my name or other info. If its just vague it could easily be a recording.

I'm going to have a heart attack once of these days. ¦|
It's most likely a prank or something as its not uncommon for me to get scam calls and what not, so maybe there's one out there that does that using the same info wherever they get mass numbers from.

But still - got me shaken up. Especially with the history of stalking rubbish, but at the very least my guy is in America and not here. I'm still playing it safe though.

Others are reporting the same thing. It was wigging out last few days and kept closing the app during calls every few minutes, battery usage for the app was up at 90%, my ipad was heating up like crazy when I had it open. I figured it was just the battery dying in me but this makes sense. They've since updated it and it seems to be more stable now.

Ipad keeps dying and doesn't seem to be charging properly which is a pain in the bum, it's a fairly new one, mostly what I do my art on ugh!!
sadly not within warranty.. so gonna be something else to save up for if i need this fixed. It keeps heating up like crazy since yesterday and doesn't seem to be charging even with a change in cable/plug. yikes!

I finally ordered a new bed - it will take a little while to pay it off but it will be so worth it. I have been on a sofa bed for a few years now and padding out the bottom of it with lots of blankets so my back doesn't feel the metal bars as much. But my back in general is a struggle with pain, so I hope this new bed will be a good relief for me!

Next up will be saving for a chair, art desk and some storage for my art materials. I really have no where I can properly sit and do my art with good posture. When everything is sorted out it will be awesome!

I am finally getting some use out of my old kofi and have been listing some of the unsold adopts.

There is a huge plague of these accounts going around facebook, twitter, and now i've seen them on bsky too. ugh!!!

I've noticed some folk falling for it and don't know the signs to look for. Keep an eye out for stolen samples, generally a very inconsistent gallery, horribly pushy wanting to pester you for quick replies...

Be safe out there! I've seen a few of these accs here on FA too, sometimes with AI art. They've started trying to pick up coms in our convention chats as well. Even buying domains now to try look for 'legit'...

It just makes me so upset when i see huge FB groups, so unmoderated, and lots of people falling for them! If you are running a group where you encourage people to sell/buy commissions, you owe it to your members to at least try and keep it moderated and safe!

The changes to twitter/x right now are pretty depressing. Not being able to opt out of the ai scraping anymore is frustrating, as well as the block system now being half-functional.

I noticed YouTube do this long ago, too. You used to be able to block people. Now, the most you can do is "hide" their comments from other people on your channel. They still pester you, you still see it - It sucks. Having my stalker harassing me for years makes me appreciate sites with /good/ block systems. Even if a person can just make a side account and keep harassing you, having the hard block there is good proof that they're intentionally bypassing it and going against your comfort, and keeping a record of that goes far in having to document if things escalate.

It's starting to feel more and more sites are not caring for the comfort of their users. I don't know what benefit there is to denting the block system when it was perfectly fine before. I feel similar for FA at times - blocking doesn't hide content it seems, just stops communication. If someone is uncomfortable with art they see I'd rather a good tag blocking system be there for people to block stuff they don't want to come across.

Seriously, this stuff just feels like the bare minimum of making a site that is based on sharing media, especially visual media. I love like the idea of making people accidentally uncomfortable with things. I've been toying with the idea of thumbnailing some things on the future (I've had several separate accounts for snuff stuff years ago, but forgot the email and pws constantly :(), I don't enjoy thumbnailing stuff but it doesn't seem like FA is gonna change that anytime soon either.

Tldr; the Internet would be a nicer, happier place if it was easier to avoid things you don't want to see, and to focus on things you do want to see. There's a bunch of talk of algortithms and whatever but they never seem to really be that focused. Twitter for instance is very intent for years now on showing me the same posts and trending hashtags despite me over and over blocking them. 😐 I don't understand how an algorithm can't pick that up.

Right now, I hear FA is hitting little/abdl/babyfur artists very hard. I understand a lot of people have their dislike of such content but really? Furry in itself is a niche - furry /combined/ with other niche communities makes it even harder to find places you can fit in and enjoy content with others like you. I've looked around on snuff places like darkfetishnet in the past, and furry is so uncommon there and often just gets you laughed out. Sometimes sites like FA seem to be the only central hubs they can explore, without resorting to scrawling around for private chats to join. I imagine this is similar for many abdl communities. The ability to self-cater our experiences would greatly improve this and allow people to make their own little micro communities. Tagging allowing to block or follow content, dedicated feeds/groups on themes, blocking uploads from certain accs without needing to actively block the person themselves (big peeve of mine - I can dislike a certain theme without wanting it to look like the artist is the problem! They're usually totally fine!), whatever - I wish we all had better control of that.

I totally believe it's capable a site full of such varied interests can all coexist, that we don't need to call out "don't follow this person they draw____" and what not - I just wish sites made it easier to do that.

I'm starting to feel a bit better now and am working on some drawings now. So sorry for the delay!

Told my Dr those new meds just weren't agreeing with me, and I'm going to avoid them. My head is fuzzy and I'm struggling with my focus still but I managed to get some good work done last couple of days. Just gotta keep pushing 😺

Sorry for the lack of art and struggling to reply to messages - I've been in a bad slump still, and have just been hiding away.
I was hoping to do some Halloween ych or adopts by now but I've hardly had the energy last few weeks. I still am thinking it's related to some new sleep medication I tried that didn't agree with me, as it left me feeling really weirdly dizzy and struggling to focus, so I've stopped taking them. Fingers crossed my body goes back to normal soon...

It's the same horrible, dopey and fuzzy feeling that the nausea meds for the ride to furcation last year gave me. That too took a frustratingly LONG time after the con until I felt normal again. I guess these kind of meds with similar effects are things I must avoid :{

There are no outstanding prepaid works to work on thankfully. Unfortunately, I felt too horrible to offer much work for furcation this year. So the charity cd is not me this time, but it's nice to see some artist variety anyway :}
