The other day I was out to lunch with my parents. One of the workers called my dad. I was in and out of the convo while I was eating, till I heard this:

"This is not fair, you KNOW I have a bucket fetish.
*pause*
No, I didn't steal your bucket. it... it was given to me! I didn't steal it!"

For the past few days I've had poison ivy, a pretty annoying case that keeps spreading. My mom is like: oh! The pharmacist said to take an oatmeal bath and it will help! Here, let me get some that I have that no one uses!"

On the box? The date? 1991.

Me: "MOM. Why do you STILL have this from when I was a toddler?!"
Mom: "It's just oatmeal! It doesn't go bad!"
Me: "If it's just oatmeal why did you spend $7 on this?? Cuz it says bath on it?"
Mom: "It's worth $50 now!"
Me: "IT'S NOT LIKE A FINE WINE! IT DOESN'T GET BETTER WITH AGE."
Mom: "Sure it does!!" *grins*

Also I have every Technu Poison Ivy product they make now, I think XD I'm just trying everything to keep it from spreading. Hopefully the copious amounts of products my mom and dad got me will help as well.

We found a couple baby squirrels outside my work and brought them to a wildlife rescue (no mother around, they were found baking in the sun and NOT well, too young to even have their eyes open) and we got a few pictures of them.

So she posts them on facebook and tags me in them.

Ok. So. I was looking for my old college art supplies and I had a horrible revelation. They're in the basement.
Let me break this down for you.
10 mins were spent staring at the open door in horror and deciding if it was worth it.
30 mins were spent getting the vacuum and literally sucking in everything floor to ceiling in the stairwell, and each individual stair.
10 mins were spent crouched down as low as I could go to get to the pile of boxes. When I got to them I stared in horror at the mass of webs covering it.
5 mins to go back upstairs, reaffirm that this was worth it, getting the broom and making my way back to the pile.
15 mins sweeping the boxes and shoving stuff aside with the broom (DON'T. TOUCH. A. THING. OMG. SPIDERS WILL EAT ME.) and spying the box I needed at the back.
5 mins to screw up courage to reach my hand back there (after vigorously sweeping the air JUST IN CASE) to grab the corner of the box and drag it out.
3 seconds to grab it and fling it out.
5 mins to poke through the box with the broom, grabbed my stuff, and ran upstairs.

The basement is a mess.
I don't give a fuck.
I fucking hate spiders.

In Massachusetts for the past 3 days we have had constant heavy rain. On the third morning, the water table was maxed out, there was no where for the rain to go, so flooding started. In the town I live, Braintree, there are many high and low points, the roads and land is everywhere, so it would go from fine to OMG FLOODED ROAD in a matter of 1/4 of a mile.

The 'puddle' is about a foot high, coming up to a normal cars front grate. Braintree was the worst town I went through. The minute I hit South Center, my normal 2 minute drive took me 30 minutes until I could even get anywhere close to my house. It would have taken me another 20-30 minutes but then I went illegally up a one way road to get to my house, cuz I wasn't waiting any more.

The roads are getting all torn apart too.

This morning though, we found kittens in the bushes in front of my office! The mother was away so we grabbed them and put them in my car. Bad idea. Kittens scattered everywhere. There are 4 total, one is still stuck in my steering column. Ugh. We will bring them to a shelter and get them spayed/neutered and shots. ^^ Then hope that they find a forever home!
