Memorial Day Salute to those that have or are still serving.

Today we celebrate all the men and woman who gave their lives in the service of our great country. Though established after the Civil War to commemorate those who died on both sides, never forget the ones who came before to form, fight for and ultimately liberate and therefore establish this country. There has been many conflicts and likely will continue to be, where more of our men and woman will lay down their lives to defend the morals and values we hold dear or to combat oppression and tyranny the world over. On our own soil, I hope never again.
I hope the day is a warm and beautiful one for you all. Celebrate with friends and with your family. Share stories, educate yourself on the wars fought, honor, be inspired and give thanks to those who had the courage and selflessness to answer their countries call and fight. And to those who got pulled into the fold as well. To everyone who has fallen. Raise a toast.
To those who courageously gave their lives and to those who bravely fight today. Thank you.

You know, every time I hear of these things, with the exception of the place, the people, and the casualties, the more they sound the same, and the less surprised I get. It's very easy to blame societies woes for all this, and I don't have a solution that wouldn't violate every law of humanity, but I do know this: We are a violent species, and one of the very, very few that kills without reason. The capacity for evil and of good exists within us all. And knowing that such exists, is the first step in containing it. The warning signs are there, but they're not like a giant neon sign, and we do need to look out for them or else this will happen again.

I will not forget this, nor will I just "let it go." We've done that too many times, and reacted in the exact same manner every time. "Senseless violence" is an oxymorn; it has never made sense, nor will it ever, and there is no point in trying to make sense of the person responsible for it. You just can't, nor should you.
Looks like I need to add this too:
It doesn't matter from who, wheter it is from a Muslim radical, a anti-abortionist, white supremesist, militant enviromentalist, alienated youth, etc.. Or who the target is, be it a Jew, homosexual, Black, Asian, Christian, abortion doctor, OR JUST ANYONE or EVERYONE, nothing ever good ever came from hate. There is and never was anything holy or rightous about it. It is a self-destructive fire, and it burns EVERYTHING it touches. And after it burns itself out, it leaves only ashes. People, countries, religions, societies, civilizations, HATE DESTROYS EVERYTHING!
"Love conquers all, but hate destroys all."
I just wanted to share that.

You can ban all guns, you can ban all violent media, it probably won't make much difference untill you can ban evil from peoples' hearts, minds and soul, and that last part is impossible. 12/16/12

Instead of waiting for the facts, the politicos will use this highly emotionally charged incident to push their agenda and more than likely rules and regs that maybe as useless as the ones before them. He came through a side door (I assume was SUPPOSED to be locked) and with things he probably never should've had and caused grief. When the cops went to his apartment, they found it wired with explosives. HOW THW FUCK DID HE GET THAT SHIT? A cache of weapons ok but expolosives? Damn folks, who fell asleep at the check out register? Young folks these days....
