I answered all my notes with questions/stuff that wasn't just a little derp thing! Um... and I also sent a refund already to Angelfelis.

And I want to thank  tailbiter for giving me a call and a swift kick in the butt to get back online!


I hadn't realized it's already been almost another 2 months since I was on here last. The days really stack up when your'e not on FA every single moment of every day, but I have been really busy dealing with things with my family and also now with work.

It was about another two weeks after my last journal that we were able to start the process of actually getting gramps into his new house once the agent finally stopped sitting on their thumbs. over then next almost three weeks, my family was off and on helping him get things unpacked and organized and moving this and that and setting up his way-too-big-for-one-person house. But he had way too much stuff to get something smaller, and he wasn't used to living in a small house. I've learned a lot about his collections while we were unpacking, and a lot about from when he and gram were first dating when he was back in the military, how they had a two year split and thought they were done, but when he came back to the states at a new base, she'd actually moved as well, and they bumped into each other at a restaurant and it was like a match made in heaven. I've actually learned a lot more about him in the last two months than I had most of my life, but it's been really fun.

After we got everything settled, it was pretty clear to everyone that him by himself in that house wasn't going to work very well, so on my days off, and when the rest of my family has had the time, we've been going over to hang out with him, or he's been coming over to visit with us (less so since he doesn't know the area that well, but still) so I haven't had much time actually to myself at all. Most of the time when I've been home it's shower, sleep, get up and ready for work, and then leave, and then I drop by his house afterwards, or end up spending the night there anyway, and he doesn't have internet. He never really picked up on using it, and relies on the TV or Newspaper for his world information. Unfortunately, none of his neighbors have unprotected internet either.

As soon as he started to actually settle in, everyone started feeling the holiday spirit. The spirit this year being an increasing state of depression. It's been YEARS since he's had a holiday without gram, and the closer we get to Thanksgiving and Christmas time, the worse it's been getting, so I've rarely been home as of late. We're really worried about him, because he's been developing more of a 'why am I even bothering with anything lately' mentality, and we really haven't wanted to leave him alone for more than a few hours. Being with him is a small helpful distraction, but at the same time, it also sort of seems to just remind him of the fact that Gram's not with us anymore... And it hasn't just been him. My dad's been spiraling too, but my mom's been able to take care of him during this time. But we're just really worried and strung across a lot of little things really thin right now.

The topping on the cake of all this is I'm not able to help out as much as I was because retail holiday season has finally been picking up and throwing almost double hours at me, so the quiet time between visits is getting longer and longer.

Also, I'm trying to figure out how much I need to refund everyone. I WILL BE SELLING MY SAIKI SUIT TO TRY TO MAKE UP ANY MONEY I CAN'T COVER ON MY OWN so if anyone would be interested in buying it, it can fit anyone from about 5'3" and 260ish pounds to 5'10" and 210ish pounds. It may be able to fit people bigger than that, height wise, with less fluff in the middle, but those are the current two extremes that I know it will fit. Offers will be heard, but I don't know exactly how much I need just yet. I will eventually be remaking Saiki with different colors, since I can't get that purple color anymore. I just don't know how else to raise refund money quickly.

First off, I wanna thank everyone for being so patient while me and my family have been dealing with things after Gram's passing. This time has done a lot of good and also gave us a good chance to get a lot of things handled.

TL;DR, My grandpa didn't want to live down in Miami on his own after stuff, so he sold his house, or put it up to sell, a few days after the funeral and moved up here with us, but is really allergic to my parents dogs, so he's been staying with ME while he house hunts, which meant most furry stuff was shoved REALLY QUICK into the closet. BUT he's working on getting the final details of getting the house he wants, locally, so he'll be moving out probably this week.






The sorta longer version.

Gram's funeral went pretty ok, i guess, all things considered. It was nice, and there were a lot of people there that I'd never met before, going back to her college days! I never knew she'd originally wanted to be a teacher, but when she and gramp's married, she went to live with him down south *she used to live in NY* but she didn't find work in her feild right off the bat and ended up working at a couple of the hotels down in Miami as housekeeping and eventually a consierge(spelling?) up till her retirement several years back.

The ceremony was beautiful, but it sorta left some fresh wounds and we were all really down for a few days, until Gramps sort of... showed up and let us know all his stuff was in a local storage area here in town. He sold his COUPLE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLAR HOME down in Miami at almost half value *or is/was in the process of getting the deal finalized* thanks go having almost every realitour(again, spelling) in the area list it, and then some, and he got a nibble and just took the first offer. He didn't want to live down in miami on his own since most of his family was gone, or WAY Way north aside from my dad, so he sorta just popped up and was like, 'Hey, help me find a new house!' which is what we've been doing most days since he got here about 3ish-4ish weeks ago. But he's finally found one that's almost ready-to-move-in that he likes and he's been talking with the Rep for that house all morning, so he should hopefully be able to move in there soon.





As far as suit stuff goes, I haven't had much chance to work on anything, and as far as art stuff goes, it might as well be about the same. I haven't really been paying much attention to anything not family related, so I'm sorry I'm not back with guns blazing and throwing art and fursuits all over the place like 'lookit how productive I've been!' but it's been crazy lately and a lot of stuff got behind.

On fursuits, I don't think I'm quite cut out for doing commissions at the moment. Not more, anyway, but for the couple people I was talking to before this all happened, if you're still interested in me doing it, I'd be happy to keep on with what we were talking about, but it might take longer than planned due to the set backs and just having to get back into the swing of things. I also understand about people wanting refunds if they do, and it may take me a bit cause my spare funds from art/suits are totally tapped out, and my job gives me crap hours. So I may do some streams on NighttimeFosslils to make back money for refunds first before going back to work on other stuff. I'm not really sure yet. But I do need to run off again, so I won't be able to reply back right away to comments, but

So... Gram didn't make it... A few days ago my parents just showed up at the apartment and I had to grab a spare change of clothes and we went back down to miami to do.. stuff.. um. We just got back, and I have like 10 notes that I don't think I have the drive to look at right now, but I will check them later. I'll check a lot of things later. Right now all I want to do is cry and sleep.

I never put up pictures of the finished Saiki.... Granted I STILL need to get more of the teal fabric for Saiki's spikes, and finish sewing down the last couple spots, the whole thing's effectively done.... Oops

I keep... seeing... really neat techniques and things I want to do and try and just... be better at things. SO this is more or less my little wishlist of shit I wanna get in the future to make better stuff :D not the kind of wishlist where I'm all like 'heyUgaisbuymestuff', but the 'fursuit commission funds are gonna be getting new cool awesome thingies'


Plasteline Clay *more of it* I got some a bit ago to make small molds of, but I don't have enough to do a full sized face sculp for resin bases. I want to try something different with this, though, since I REALLY like working with foam instead of using the same blank over and over, I want to make sort of a general shape mask for the muzzle to do moving jaws with that, but have it to where all the actual details will still be built up with foam. I'd probabably start off with just one, something longer and mostly canine *cause I can always hack off the end of it to make it shorter and build back up around it with foam* but just enough to get the inner mouth shape right, then the bridge of the nose, facial structure, everything else would get built up over that. Also to make larger sculpts possibly for horns/antlers/back spikes/plates, etc.


Shaver - Just an electric razor to make shaving large areas down easier. Scissors can only work so fast.


A HUGE THING of resin. Like, the gallon sized parts A and B from .. uh... Smooth on? i think? I think I liked the 300 and 305 for different reasons... or was it the 300Q?
IDK... also clear resin.... and resin coloring stuff.... but that's a bit more down the line. The simple white stuff is fine for now.


Airbrush+Compressor - I MIGHT be getting this sooner rather than later. I've been talking to someone that's got a really finicky compressor that only works part time, and so if I can get it fixed, I might be able to have it. Still looking into this though.

On a good note, Gram's still getting better. We're now getting nightly updates from Gramps about how she's doing. She's still got almost no feeling in her left side, but she was able to slightly wiggle her fingers *just barely, but it was visible* so that's a very VERY good sign for her. She's still in ICU for a bit longer because of her age and needing to be right there in case something goes bad, but it's no where near as bad as it was this past week.


I'm starting to jump back into really working on stuff again *fursuits and art* so yay :D expect to see a lot more from me real soon :3

Got back a bit ago. I didn't get to work on as much art as planned, but the good news is Gram may actually make it. Over the weekend, things started looking up, so we decided to stick around better. her left side is still somewhat useless, and the doctors don't know if that will ever get better, but last we heard there was a better *still not good, but better* chance she will make a decent recovery.

but the short story is Gram's gotten worse and we don't know how much longer she's got. My family and I are traveling down to Miami in a few minutes once I finish this quick post, and we're gonna be staying down there at least through tonight, possibly through sunday night. I'm gonna be working on art things mostly in spare time but I don't know if I will have internet down there.

So... Everything irl with me has been getting really down the last week or so. Nothing directly with me, but more my extended family.

Early last week my step-dad's ex-wife *they were together for almost 30 years and separated on good terms and were still sorta friends, and had 3 kids together* was diagnosed with stage 4, inoperable, terminal cancer *I'm not sure what kind*. She'd been given 1 to 4 months possibly, however, I think it was thursday she ended up slipping in the shower and didn't pull through. We want to think it was an accident, but she'd always ALWASY been a strong woman, and there's high suspicion in the family that she didn't want to waste away, or make everyone else suffer through the last few months and it may have been suicide. The funeral was on saturday. I wasn't really informed about any of this *I no longer live with my family, so news gets to me kinda slow when it's a lot of things going on at once* until thursday night, and I wasn't able to make it to the funeral. Sunday, though, things got worse for my stepdad. His half/step? brothers mother (crazy big extended family. they were all super close, but I didn't know many of them very well, but I knew her), a sweet old lady with a beautiful fiery personality, who had been in slow decline for the last 10 years or so, had a massive stroke following the funeral. Last update I'd gotten, she has been in the intensive care unit since sunday night, and doctors are monitoring what appeared to be a large blood clot that's been slowly working it's way towards her brain. The stroke itself left her entire left side paralized, and at more than 90 years old, they were amazed she survived it at all. She's hanging on right now, but barely, and the doctors don't think she's going to make it much longer. It's good that family was still in town from the weekend, and many have extended their time here just in case, but the last 5 days have been... I don't even know what to call it.

Wednesday -

LONG as drive from Orlando down to naples at 10PM to go pick up our con roomie  T.B./ tailbiter. Didn't actually arrive until like, 2-3 AM and found probably the SHITTIEST McDonalds on the drive. I mean, fast food is fast food, but we got the 'please pull ahead and wait' thing that lasted almost 20 minutes.... there isn't ANYTHING on the McDonalds menu that takes 20 minutes to make start to finish....


Thursday -

Tackled the drive back and started planning con stuff to do~ We sorta got it all figured out *this would be pointless later, lol* and did a quick swing by at the apartment to drop off stuff since check in for us wasn't till tomorrow. We got  narcotic-sprinkles and did the introduction to room mate and friends, and learned that the con space was already open for hang out time, so we got to go over and derp for a bit. Debated doing fursuit bowling, but in the end decided against it. Also there was pizza. mmmm pizza.


Friday -

Friday for me was kinda fucky. Got up at 8 to go print out badges and art examples at kinkos, which ended up taking almost 2 hours. Dropped my compatriots off at the con to get the party started and headed back home to finish working on Saiki cause it still needed fingers and toes *personal suit = Laaaazy me* We'd planned to bring the rest of the stuff for the weekend over around check in time anyway :P Loaded the car with Ganache and we made the second pilgrimage over to the con. Got the stuff up to the room and I finished working on the suit for the day. Hands were done, but toes were missing *oops again* but we sent  t.b. out in Saiki to go run around~ So far the only pic I've got of saiki from the con was from right before the suits public debut~ *if you've got pics of saiki, please send them my way~~~ <3* After that I had to take Ganache to work, so I just went to hang back at the apartment. Tried to finish up pen in the 3 hours I had to wait, but there was still WAY too much to do to make it wearable u _ u So appologies on that, BUT I've just got the rest of the spikes to put on, and to make the hands *and trim the face* and it'll be ready for it's beauty shots now~ <3 Ended up taking a nap cause I was starting to feel kinda sick, but I think that was from not eatting much all day. Picked up Ganache and headed back over to the con space to go derp around with people. Reg had closed by then, though, so balls. Worse off, we ended up having to pay the room cost up front instead of at check out, so I ended up forfeiting my weekend pass to make sure the room was covered, but it's all good. :3


Saturday -

Woke up late and started working on finish up Saiki's feet for the fursuit parade. ALMOST missed it thanks to getting my pass this morning right before the photo and lineup started, but we made it! Dang I didn't realize how tiring it was to be in a full suit for so long *read, not that long at all, lol* I need to practice and work on my stamina. I did run into a buddy of mine from Metrocon  aether718which was awesome! Sadly saturday was his only day at the con. Right after the parade I ended up zipping back up to the room due to being way too hot. Took a shower, sprayed down the suit, then we took Ganache back home. Without a suit they felt a little out of place, but it still looked fun to them, so once we get their suit finished, it'll be a different story :D I headed back to the hotel again and meandered my way down to artists alley. Got a couple little commissions *enough to bump back up to a weekend badge! Yay!* and... well.. Saturday night is KIND of a blur. I remember room hopping, and going to Denny's... and trying to suit again, but it got really hot really fast... I need to drink more before suiting, definitely.


Sunday -

Sunday also flew by, but I got to spend majority of the day in artists alley and met some really cool people!  bobkitty sila and  morokai all hung out for good chunks of time to keep me company. there were some other people at the table that I didn't get their FA's, but I'd love to watch ya'll cause your arts was awesome! *oh gosh, grammar, what?* I finally got to meander into the dealers den, too, and ooooooh I'm so sad/glad I didn't earlier. there was SO MUCH cool stuff in there, but I was literally flying by the seat of my pants on funds all weekend right up to the ends @_@


Monday -

Check out day! I ended up waking up early and headed down to the lobby for a bit where me and Narco met up with  minimumtalent who went to bribe us with food for arts *always a winning plan, lol*. TB went home with some of our other friends, whos FAs I'm also derp on, but it was AWESOME getting to see everyone! I made it back home by noon, and we played the unpacking game, and today Saiki Suit gets a nice deep cleaning bath, cause while we kept it sprayed down with water/alcohol all weekend, it's smelling a little bit funky now, soooo spa day!







I can't WAIT to get to see everyone again next year, but I'd LOVE to start planning for another convention or two between then and now *FWA is definitely on the table, but again, another one or two cons would be AMAZING!* Hopefully something sorta south-eastern would be great, cause we'll probably be driving to it. I WANT to go to MFF, but flying is expensive, and driving in snow is a thing I have no idea how to pull off @_@;

Also, I'm not sure on many of the details, but well wishes go out to the family of the person that passed away at the hotel earlier today. I'm not sure if he was of the fandom or just another hotel guest, and I am not normally a religious person, but he and his loved ones will be in my prayers tonight. u _ u

Man, I'm FINALLY not feeling like crap again. My doc kept saying it was just some kind of little cold and not to worry about it, but I've NEVER had a 'cold' that kicked my butt so hard. Or that gave me such a fever.



BUT I've been up all morning and I feel awesome :3 Finished shaping up the majority of a Deer face, got the muzzle chunks on for Kuroba's 2 foam bases, got the general starting shape for an Dragon/lynxy/Thingy thing for ThatsIllegal, and the half way started but on pause now bases of a Red Panda and Fox for 2 bases that'll be refunded cause of the wait time *again, super sorry ^ ^; Stuff over the last 2 weeks just got stupidly jumbled on time*

Now that I'm back on my game, though, it's crunch time before megaplex! So i'm gonna see how many of these I can get done and hopefully on monday I'll be able to get back into some fur work. I don't think saiki's gonna have her back spines in time for con *STILL haven't gotten to getting more of the vinyl for those* but the rest should be done, but I'd really like to try to get Pen finished as well, or at least to a wearable state.

I'm sad Glowstick/Styx won't be ready for con, but he's on a mutual hold until his commissioner's able to get back on the project, which is cool, cause all I've got for him so far is a foam base, which isn't taking up much space at all :P

Ganache is also semi on hold because of how long it took for CRsCrafts to send out the fur :I I ordered from them almost 2 weeks ago and they gave me a 4 day shipping estimate. the fur should have been here well before Metrocon, but only showed up late yesterday, so I'm a little miffed/sad about that too. Not a very good first impression.




On another fur related note, I ordered some of the Charcoal Grey fur from Stylish Fabrics. It's about the sameish Pile as the CRsCrafts Cubby, but almost as a more DF/Shannon Shag plushness, but not necessarily the quality? I mean, it's good for the color, and very different from the standard grey color, but on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being DF Shag and 1 being shitty joanns fun fur, it's maybe a 5 or a 6. Not great, but not awful? I think it just needs a light washing and a quick brushing to help it actually fluff up nicer. But if you're really wanting an interesting color, the Stylish Fabrics . com site does have some INTERESING fur colors like Papaya, Mauve, Charcoal, and Heather grey (light grey?????) and a few more than that. I'd like to get my hands on those other colors to see what they're like, but I'm not sure if I'd REALLY use them to make a full suit out of. Like I said, they're not bad, but they're not 'good' either, so it's a toss up on how badly you want a certain color versus consistent quality of fur.

We just think Pen will look better with the charcoal grey than the DF grey after looking at the comparison of the two colors.

I actually feel like a human being this... afternoon? I'm not sure where I've been awake and asleep in the last few days. Holy crap I didn't realize it was already wednesday, too! I'm soooo sorry I haven't put any updates or anything up yet on suit work or art things @_@ I'm still feeling kind of cruddy, so I'll probably just stick with art things for the afternoon and drink some tea stuff, and keep on the medication that I got put on after the high fever scare, which has worked AMAZING!




As an update, Glowstick/Styx has been put on hold until the commissioner can fund the fur, which is cool, so I'll be bouncing ahead and working on Pen for possible Megaplex completion instead, but no promises. I'll also officially be starting on the furring process for Blue Rasberry's head RIGHT AFTER MEGAPLEX, because I've got soooo much stuff to catch up on.




A bit of a Metrocon report, though. Friday and Saturday were AWESOME! I met a bunch of interesting people in passing that I'm dumb and didn't actually get any information from, but if anyone met me and remembered my name on here, HI! I'M BAD AT NAMES!

The Dealers Room was huuuuuge, and they had these CUTE AS SHIT Mabari War Hound plushies from Dragon Age <3 There was also a booth selling a butt ton of pokemon plush from the pokemon center and then some, and they had BINS of $5-$8 tiny plushies, and I found a Litleo that now lives... somewhere. I'd been thinking of putting him in my car, but I don't want him to get faded. But it's gotta be somewhere the kitties won't get him. they think anything plushie is a toy they can kick at.

Stood in line for forever to get a couple autographs, played Cards Against Humanity for the first time *oh gosh, what an awful but beautiful game XD* and realized that no, I still can't dance at the raves.

Sunday it started to go down hill, and I was really not feeling too good by the end of the day. Then monday I got dragged over to Busch Gardens and ended up just hanging out near the front in guest services from about noon to 6pm feeling miserable and playing pokemon. We got home sometime that night, and then I just passed out and slept through MOST of the last few days :I

I got the dreaded con crud after con*during?* so I've kinda been out the last couple days on top of being actually away for the con weekend ~_~ Managed to rack up a new record fever of 104, too!... not sure if I should be proud of that though, lol.


Playing catch up with a bunch of things the next two days though :3 I'll be shipping out foam heads as I finish them *and with the approval of the shapes and stuff :P*

A transformer got hit by a bottle rocket in my area which completely reset my internet modem to factory settings, including network name and password. Just had a dude come out to fix it and he's been here for almost 2 hours. I feel bad for the roomies who ended up being without internet since the night of the 4th o _ o;
I just had to deal with it for a little over a day :P


I should have pictures of foam bases up a bit later tonight after I do some shape fixing. I worked as much as I could without reference on them, and then looking at what I did, regretted it. OOPS. But yeah, fixing that today~ Gotta get one room mate from work around 3-4 though, and then drop another one off at 6, so lots of running around this afternoon too.

Sooo my grandma ended up getting t-boned the other morning, and ended up in the hospital for a few broken ribs and a concussion, My whole family was in a panic and we ended up staying over at the hospital for the last couple of days while the 'danger time' passed for the head injury and stuff. I'd kind of still rather be sitting over there with her but she and the doctors more or less told us to go home and rest for now, since she's not in any real danger anymore and it's just a matter of healing up. But needless to say, I haven't gotten anything done the last couple of days, and so I'm a couple days behind on things now.

Also, there's a pretty good chance the 4th of july trip is off since G'Ma can't travel right now. Again, she's doing fine and should heal up nicely in the next couple of months. And the accident was completely the other person's fault. My gram is one of the safest drivers I know. She's also pretty hilarious when on copious amounts of pain killers :P

been working on some dogosaur thing refs today~ but... my hand wants to draw everything wonky. Not happy with how the alt views of things have been coming out at ALL today, all 4 of them so far are half done at least. I'm just not able to draw anything from the back today, it seems. I'm taking a break from art stuff for a while for food and goof off breaks :D


Dropped off  neonr0se's package at the post office today, and it went off without a hitch :D Any estimates for simple foam bases is NOW $15 ish, which is a bit more than I expected XD Sorry! I'll definitely let people know if their stuff ships for more or less, though, but that's officially my unofficial Foam Base Shipping cost unless otherwise noted!


Also, I'm still itching to work on foam bases. Might do that for a bit more tonight, but it's definitely my main plan for tomorrow *until Dungeons and Dragons time around 5ish, but I start working on things at around 8AMish usually :P* After DnD time I'm useless. BUT, the next 2-3 bases should be finished before my holiday break from friday to saturday :3 Then I can have things shipped out again come Monday~



And I'm still open for Foam Base commissions with a couple-day turn around time :3 I'm gonna try to keep foam base commissions to a maximum of a 2 week wait period. :3 They're really awesome to keep me motivated while waiting for fur and stuff to come in.


ANOTHER thing, I've gotten an update on Pen's fur status, and it should be arriving on July 2nd! So I can start working on furring that as soon as it gets here~ We might have it done in time for megaplex after all :D
Holy hoppers we're gonna be toting SO MANY SUITS to Megaplex for our room XD



AND ANOTHER THING, the Nose and handpaw claws for Blue Raspberry also showed up today :3 I did a size check on the nose to the foam base and it's gonna match up GREAT! :D I just need to do a tiny bit of trimming to make the base shape fit on the foam right, but the color is beautiful! Major props to  DreamVisionCreations for making great fursuit bits!

My local PO is open on saturdays.... I thought normal hours, but they closed at noon.


OOPS. Roomie worked at 2 and I was gonna go drop off a box at the same time since it's right around the corner. GUESS IT'S GOING OUT TOMORROW >_>'

WHICH leads me to let everyone know I'm going to try to make mondays my shipping day for everything~

I realized I didn't make any more the other day, SO i could probably do that since I've got a bunch of foam bases without them, and need to make like, 4 or 5 more in the not so distant future :P

So, Like i've mentioned before, I think I don't want to be totally silent in suit, but I also don't want to talk, and the dog-toy squeekers just rub me the wrong way because so many people oversqueek, or just dont take the hint when someone's about ready to punch their head off their face for squeeking in their ear one too many times, but the bird caller reeds have a much more natural and diverse sound that I've really grown fond of.


THAT SAID, they're hard as crap to get used to. So it's like this little half circle disk that's supposed to sit against the roof of your mouth with the flat pointing sorta down towards the tip of your tongue, and it keeps sliding to the side like a C....


I can purr though :D

Haven't really tried talking much yet.

Gonna finish up  neonr0se's Lioness head base this morning, hopefully before noon~

Then I'm gonna make  penguinbombsquad's foam base for Blue Raspberry

THEN I'm gonna start  therealurubabe's deer foam base

Tomorrow I'm gonna finish up the deer~ then probably art for a bit and catch up on badges/design stuff.

Sunday I'm gonna be double checking order status on materials for the other suits that I've got the bases done for already to see if people know when fur/materials/dtd's/hand traces will be showing up *it's cool if people don't know!*

A friend suggested I do this, so it'll be a free small to medium(2 feet long) tail with up to 2 colors (or 3 for small accent colors I have already~)


SO YEAH, I'll go through my watchers list and rando-number and count down to whoever in the alphabetical list it is!
