Nerf Update
Posted 16 years agoI dunno who all I talked to earlier today so I'll give a breif synopsis:
Earlier today Nerf came up to me crying like he wanted something and I noticed his head was wrong, and I mean wrong like swollen. Now mind you Nerf is a senior indoor only cat and he's had his share of health problems. So I called the vet's emergency number and rushed him in. I handed him off and waited in teh waiting room but they couldn't be sure what was going on with him other than he had lotsa fluid on his brain and they were draining it out. I was told to go home because the Surgeon was not going to be available ot properly work on Nerf for sometime and they had no idea how long it would take to treat him so I signed off paperwork and drove home in tears, cause it's a horrible sick feeling to drive home without a pet not knowing if he's going to be okay.
So I spent several hours pacing around and thankfully my dear friends that put up with me (Ally Blackie Abra Tobi Rhari Chado <3 <3) helped me keep my mind off things while I waited for the phone call.
Flash forward 5 hours, and I finally got a returned call from the vet (I'd called a few times but no one could tell me anything) and we found out that the fluid was blood and they think he may have hit his head somehow and they had done their best to clean things up and give him antibiotics. They've sent him home with me for the night but we're not really sure if he's going to be okay or not they said he'll eitherb e alright or he won't and that i'll know in a few days.
So for the second time Nerf's had crazy brain stuff in the time I"ve owned him and he's been following me around the houes nonstop since he got home cryingand loving on me. I'm kinda exhausted but I figured I'd post this so anyone I halfway talked ot would know what fully was going on.
So anyway to sum up I'm hugging on my sick kitty but darn it he's mah sick kitty <3 and gonna do everything I can to make sure he's okay

Turning off the lights for a while
Posted 17 years agoAs some people know from last night I sort of threw in my hat, and have decided to no longer be an Avatar vendor, as well as leaving Luskwood Creatures.
Luskwood has oodles of great people in it and I do not hate them, so don't think that. I'm just not a good fit.
Anyway just wanted to make sure I say that openly unless people try to make a large unnecessary drama fest about it.
So going forward any avatars I post will likely be personal nonsense or things for friends :)
In other news the Quail was released and flew off awesomely <3 I totally need Quail character now :) they can has deedleyboppers!
Luskwood has oodles of great people in it and I do not hate them, so don't think that. I'm just not a good fit.

Posted 17 years agoNope it's not an oncoming train! Figured it was time to update on Buddy's situation. He wasn't doing very well and the doctors had me wrapping honey on his tumors as the ones on his legs went necrotic (rotting from the inside out) and it was spreading up his leg into his muscles and they were concerned about his lymph nodes. They didn't want to operate because he was so sick, and we got more tests back on his lungs. And they ended up not amputating his hind legs (thank god)
His lungs are gonna be okay, so that isn't a concern. Yay for small miracles :) Small awesome miracles. The tumor in his chest was still a problem though so I kept on wrapping him up everyday with honey (which made him think I wanted him to self amputate as much as he kept trying to eat those damn bandages.)
He got better tho and made improvements and was in surgery on thursday. To my distress on thursday though he didn't wake up from surgery, and the vet kept him overnight and friday because he wasn't doing very well. But he finally did get to come home and this weekend has been alot of painkillers and bandage changes, but he is the happiest I think he's been in a while having all those icky tumors gone. The tests showed those tumors had like 6 different types of bacteria in them @.@ and 3 of em were about the sizeof golfballs, like hte one in his chest. It didn't look that big from the outside but they showed me after the operation and I couldn't believe that was in my Buddy!
Anyway I didn't want to update until things were looking stable and better. As it's been a bounce jauncy road. In short tho Buddy is doing slowly better on the road to recovery and we might have another year or so of his wonderful company if we are very lucky, which I hope we are, I'm really not ready to lose my Best Bud :)

It must be that time of the year.
Posted 17 years agoI'm not sure how many people are aware of what all has been going on with me lately. I know my closer friends have been kept mostly up-to-date on things. I've been in and out of the hospital for the last several months, as I started bleeding internally and went quite anemic. Thus I've been home alot, very tired and rather sick, the medication I am on makes me nauseas and throw up alot, and they insist on taking more blood tests all the time go me? Things have been getting better though, I've adjusted to my medication so I am not sick all the time and now going to the hospital for more tests is just becoming apart of my routine. Important thing is, I'm going to be okay even if they don't know what's wrong with me
I got some bad news yesterday though, and I might take sometime away from certain activities for the next month or so. My dog Buddy (Yah some of you know buddy he's always pestering when im' on the microphone), was diagnosed with cancer many years ago, and we've been fighting it.
I am sad to say that yesterday we found out it has spread to his lungs, and the prognosis is not good. Due to his age (16) and location they are not reccommending Chemo on this, and it is unclear how much time he actually has left in him. In about 2 weeks we will have more tests results back and the doctor should be able to give me a better estimate, and we will have a better plan of what to do. For now he's still full of energy and love.
The doctor does not seem to think he'll make it through to christmas this year, so I am making plans to celebrate christmas early. One of Buddy's favorite things to do is open his christmas presents, so I'll have to stage that for him. And really I always love watching him carefully tug the packages open with his mouth and feet. Anyway I am rambling. We're planning to take Buddy to the local off leash dog park as much as possible in the coming days, since it's something he enjoys and as long as he has the energy he should get to play and do whatever the hell he wants. And yes this does mean yesterday he got a hamburger as the Burger king drive thru.
Just wanted to give a heads up to people of why I am silent and absent. My apologies to anyone I may have upset with this.

Posted 17 years agoHeading out in the morning to destinations beyond space and time! Actualy heading off to vegas for a few days and gonna swing back up for the Rainfurrest thing up here in washington, hope to see some friends there!

Updating my Journal
Posted 18 years agoMost the peeps here know whats going on lately so I dunno why I bother updating mah journal but I do anyway.
Heading out for Minnesota end of the month and I'll be gone for a while family stuff to take care of.
On the cancer front I've shown nothing in tests so far so thats good, my sister recovering from the removal of her brain cancer tumor alright. And I've spent too much time making Second Life Avatars! D:
Gonna try to get back into DJing again, it just feels like the right time of year for it.
Going over to a friends house tommorow to babysit while they go see a movie, that should be fun. I told my friend I was gonan take her kids to the train station and tell them they are going to hogwarts....
Run into that brick wall as fast as you can children and just believe! :)
Naw I got some movies for them to watch, their mom gave me Old Yeller to show them O.o she is mean.
On another front I've moved on to making wood working a hobby. I've been making boxs, mostl for pictures to go into (various shapes to sit upright like octagons) and doing woodburning on such ;) wood burning is so relaxing and burning.....
Mostly Burning.
Anyway thought i'd post a journal entry since I never do :)
