I am a fan of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, I am man enough to admit that. As you know My Little Pony is on the Hub Website, same site Transformers Prime plays on. We knew one day these two would would cross paths in a video.

On Game trailers screw attack show they have this series called Death Battle. Sort of a ultimate warrior show on the web.

So this past month The Lion King returned to theaters in 3d and on Blueray a few weeks back. The big SUCKER of a Lion King fan I am, I saw it and got the trilogy box set. I hope everyone is enjoying that wallpaper image I made out of the box art. If you downloaded and made it your desktop background send me a screen shot. I like to see what it looks like.

Also I got the other promo goodies. Such as the 3d card, the lithographs and the iPad second screen application for the iPad. Which I HIGHLY recommend getting for your iPad or just to get an iPad to have this if you’re a big of a Lion King art fan as I am.

So you can say I am a Lion king fan, now for my review of the 3d production. In some parts of the movie the 3D look great, with the opening sequence, the large landscape, and the stampede. The 3D effect was done WELL. But in other parts of the movie it made the animation look like paper cut outs, had no depth or was off. There for I think they needed to do another pass with the 3D work and tie down some shot. But that’s just my opinion.

For those who watched or favored my art I wanted to tell you how The Lion King affected me. Before the lion king I rarely draw any cartoon character, yet alone Disney. I never too thought or even an interest in animation. But when I was 11 years old in that summer of 1994 The Lion King changed that.

I think it showed me you could create an epic feeling out of animation, that not all cartoon movies have to be about princesses finding their prince. Before the Lion King look at Disney past movies in the 90s that I recall seeing; Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin. I give Aladdin some credit that there was some things a young boy can relate to. But most of the movies were directed towards girls.

Lion king was a risk to take of a story. I think everyone read the stories how Disney thought it would fail and that Pocahontas would be the victor. I think that’s why Pixar performs well with their movies; they don’t shoot for the Fairy Tell story. That’s what Lion King was not a Fairy tell story, story on an epic scale.

As I was going through the special features on the Lion King, I found a little video part that had all the animators who worked on that movie sitting down, talking about their feelings and their work they put into it. It was a nice video and group of that talent is rare to be put into a movie such as this. Many Lion king fans that I knew growing up were all about the voice actors of the film. Thinking they were the stars and the ones who brought those characters to life. Looking back on this, I feel they were wrong.. It was the animators…

I have taken up my Bachelors degree in animation. To be a good animator you have to be more than a good draftsman, you have to be a good actor. You need to get into the mind of that character you are creating. Yes Jeremy Irons plays scar well in the voice. In my life I feel that I have gone the some hard ships like Simba. Not as bad, but had gone through my trails of life. Looking back to this film I can relate to it more than ever. I feel good coming back to my fandom of the Lion king and drawing fan art that relates to how I feel about it today. I like to here other Lion king fans feelings about this!

So today I was watching the new Thundercats on demand and something about Liono voice caught my attention. The way he delivered a lion seem very similar to Terry from Batman Beyond. Turns out I was correct, they have the same voice actor Will Friedle. Now stop using the work WHISKERS as a substitution for SHIT!!

Its been over a week since Anthrocon ended and I still fighting the social withdrawal. Its been hard as heck to find anyone who wants to do anything art related. I just got back from a get together that  combatraccoon was hosting, I was trying to get hold of other local furs to see if they want to go. Most of them found that Wednesday get together not in favor of their work week.  combatraccoon had to cut out early and the rest of the other furs looked like they were going to call it a night also. Kind of bad form when the host of the get together has to jet...

So I am putting it out there: Are there any local Pitt furries who want to go out to the Pittsburgh Zoo, Carnegie museum or the Mattress factory? Looking to have a group chat and doodle then after words we hit a coffee shop or a bar and shoot the crap.

Any local furries doing anything in Pittsburgh tonight? I am board out of my MIND!!!

Another Anthrocon has come and gone. It was nice to see some old friends and meet up with some new friends. I'm still fighting the after convention depression today, that the part of going to this event I dislilke. While I was on my way to work the local radio stations where giving recorded Anthrcon interviews they did over the weekend, from interviewing fur suites to going to the bar and drinking with them. I wish I spent more time with my friends at the event this year.

Thats one think I was missing the most, the old crew I use to sit around and draw with in the Zoo at AC. Most of them where MIA , working the dealers area, or just not available. Its disappointing but one can not let that take you down. The panels where not as great as they where in the past. The two panels by  sigilregarding being a better furry commission artist where very informed. It put some better light on my art block situation I got at AC and how to marker myself better.

The panels for the Lions meet and great was nice, not as grand as it was for 2010. I like to thank  lukalioness for setting it up. I will have that image for you by the end of this week. It was also nice to meet  lauralioness and  lunaralioness at this event. I also like to thank  saiyawolf:ioncentradragon:  combatraccoon for the time we had in the artist ally. Next year I am going to shoot for prints to put into the art show.

well its the big week for ac this year. I didnt plan my art badges to well this year do to army and my new job as a full time graphic designer.

My goal this year is to not worry about not selling con badges. What I want out of this con this year is to learn some new art tools, enjoy some panles and events and meet new friends. What I dont want to happen is being alone again at this con. It has happened to me so often in the past its put me in a bad mood for most of the con.

with that in mind I think I will do the artiat ally for one day. So that way I can enjoy the rest of the con. Looks like alot of fun acfivitirs happening at thr event this year.

Friday look like alot of neat things are happening and I want to get in on it. But should I take off work for it? work said its okay but my dad is guilting me about it, stating iy looks poor as a new empolyee. What do you think I should do?

The past few weeks at work, and my side work projects have been keeping me away for preparing for AC. Comparing myself to last year I didnt have full time job but I had alot of con badges ready to go. This time.. I got a job and I don't even have a badge for myself that I am happy with yet.

As I was going into work today AC was the topic on my local radio stations, the were all saying how crazzy its going to be in Pitt with AC, the Batman Extras casting and President visiting.

I just love reading up on new movies and tv shows, plus if you have a trailer to boot I am in a world of JOY. I just found out some Awesome new about a the comic "Lions, Tigers, and Bears"(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lions,.....gers_and_Bears).... The are going to make it into a MOVIE and DISNEY is behind helping it come to life. You can find out about that information on this website : http://my.spill.com/profiles/blogs/writers-roundup.

Plus they have some fun animation with their movie reviews. The fact they are doing this comic I hope it is 2d animated. Live action is fun in all, but for this store and the way things need to be told in the story, 2d would work best, may be 3d computer animation but live action would freak kids out!!!

I want to be able to get on this project, I miss the boat on VOLTRON; which is coming out next week. But this one they are not starting production till 2012. Now is a time where I can start to redefine myself to get on this!!

Well I didnt prepare as much as I liked to for Anthro Con this year. Good news is I have a place to stay and a crew to hang out with. I will be with  dearc,  voodoowolf and the rest of their crew at the event. I did some preparing for Anthro Con this year. But the priorities of my new job an getting out of the army took the top of my to do list. Which makes since in the big picture in the fact I am one of few people that has a job related to what I went to school for.

I am doing theme badges like I did last year. By the amount of Favs Seems like alot of people prefer the Harry Potter theme over the Mortal Kombat. I will be busting out of few of those this weekend. My badges are going to be double sides, printed, and laminated. The price I am charging is 15.00 a Badge, I will have my printer at the event and the tools to get your badge done. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the event!

This past month I got a gig as a full time Graphic Designer for a company that preforms testing on metals for the Aircraft, Auto, Medical, and Nuclear industries. Its not an animation gig, but it strongly relates to my associates degree of multimedia. So far my supervisor like the work and feels we are head of schedule in what i have created so far for the company. The bad part right now is Army OCS is not working out with my current plans in life.

This past week I submitted my request to get out of the Army OCS, I no longer have the desire to become an US Army Officer. If I did I would have to put things in my life on hold while I do more training for the army an I dont see that happening with my plans as of now. Currently my contract has me in for OCS only and it ends March of 2012. So I am looking to see if I can get an early out, I have no MOS with the army and with ten months left I have no plans to re-enlist.
Today I have to drive up to the base for this drill weekend and submit this paper work to withdraw from the program. I hate that I had to take time off from work to do this and I dont know what this week has in store for me.

Good note my request for time off to go to AC has been approved. I will be there with voodowolf, Darc and crew!

Today I found out I did something really DUMB on my computer. I lost all my furry art that I have created over the past ten years, just gone up in smoke. Some items related to my non furry art profile. With something bad happens like this one would think to freak out, get pissed off at a tree, or cry. Honestly I am not that upset, yeah I lost alot of art on there over the past ten years. Was I doing anything with those files on there? Honestly no, I look at this as a new rebirth for my art. I am not going to delete my files on FA or DA. That's apart of who I am.

I still have my work art work for my online portfolio to show to clients, now this gives me a good reason to spend some time drawing again!!

The past two weeks my life has made a major change. I got a job in my field of study. Working as a web / graphic designer for a government contracting company. Want tot keep it on the down low on my fur journal here. Big gig don't want to sour it. It's not animation but looks like I will have the chance to do some graphic animations.

On another not my first full week is the same time fa united occurs. So another con a no go. I don't want to start asking time off on my first work week, it would be bad idea. The job has us working a 44 hour work week, four hours on Saturday.

I am starting to get things ready for anthrocon 2011 and will be doing con badges. I will post a contact list latter this wee.

So I am still at the liquor store as of now, working my butt off in odd hours. Missed out on Furry Connection North due to I couldn't get time off from work. "The needs of the store comes first" My District Manager says. I wanted to so go, some many people I wanted to met from FA, some many activities to me new furs, and just have a good time!

It kind of worked out for me! I got that phone call for the job interview for the state Art job, my interview is on the 20th of this month. Then I got 3 other job interviews through, Crag's List, Monster, and another art job through the state. This past week I went to two of them. One was with a fitness supplement company and the other is with a large metal testing firm in my home town. Both of these jobs offer great work opportunities for me in my career. The ones with the state look more stable and I will be able to make some connections.

I want to got to FA united this year, but with these job interviews, my current work states with the liquor store, and other family events. I may be unable to go, DAMN. But I am planing on going to AC. THAT'S a MUST. I better off preparing for that now!!

Nuts, and just down right nuts.... This past week I was informed by my District Manager that I couldn't get the weekend off to go to Furry Connection North. The needs of the store come first- says my district manager. Thats it!!! I gotta find a job that offers weekend off no more of this weird bull crap of shift and part time hours.

As of now I had some job interviews and have some job interviews coming up this week. So that's a plus!! The one I am hoping for is the Artist Illustrator position with the state. I took the test last month and my results have me tied for first with two other candidates. Thats a big moral booster for one persons art! Hopefully I will get a call about an interview int he next week or so.

I am going to try to get time off for FA united and Anthro con. Anyone else going to those events?

This was on ABC last week, I got the last 75% of the program when it aired. I was stoked to lean that by public vote that "The Lion King" was voted number one of in the top five of animated movies of all times.

I am a child of the 80's growing up with GI Joe, Transformers, and Captain Power. The toys and TV shows were apart of my entertainment experience. I had a little place in my heart for Care Bears and My Little Pony. Could not admit that at the time, being a boy you were shamed to state you like things like that. Heck I took me a long time to open up about the lion king.

But with this new animation of My little pony on HUB website, I am blown away on how well it is done. Some of the dialog and content seems to be more for mature audiences. I love what fans on you tube are creating with My Little Pony!

I am trying to get items together for the fur con furry connection north. These pass few weeks I can't get a hold of Voodowolf and friends. I am liking for any crew who is going and if I can crash with them.

This past few weeks again I been working like a mad man on trying to improve myself and get a better job, away fro the liquor store. Been finding a good bit of jobs that meet my skills and experience. My objective right now is to find a better job and start building a better life before the end of March.

Also plans are in the works to go to a furry connection north, plans are to carpool with  dearc I can drive to the event, I just don't like driving by myself. Did that before with a ten hour drive.. Never again. Anyone else going to that event?
