Talking with a friend about journals and my interaction with the DA comunity, we noticed (well, it was more a thing of him pointing facts at me. XD) how little of me i share with you all here. My usual aproach is like "ask me questions" or "tell me something about you". But I've not been that good at starting the conversation. The fact is, I'm not usually the one that starts these things, I'm a super shy guy and an introvert... My friends are the ones that usually message me first, and I'm usually the silent one from the group (unless I feel secure to talk, or something i consider super important needs to be adressed/mentioned and nobody is talking about it.. that kind of guy). So yeah.. I'm trying a new aproach here. Is my first time doing such thing in DA, so please be gentle. XD
My idea is to come with new things to talk about from time to time. Maybe share a little from me or the things i'm interested so i could find more like minded people. Also, i'd like to adress that, while I'm starting a topic, there will always be an "ask me anything" at the end of the journal, So feel free to well "ask anything" or "start a new topic" int he coments, I'll do mybest to answer and it could be the next theme for a journal, who knows? ^_^
I'll separate things so you can pick wich one to read...

MORTAL KOMBAT
Today... i'd like to talk a little about the new MK Movie

Some of you may already know.. some may not, but I'm a big Mortal Kombat Fan/Nerd. Movies, comics, games, fanprojects, art, rumors, urban legends, design notes, documentals, comunity events, their martial artists... I'm into all that. Some of you even know me from the MK Mugen comunity and my years as a sprite artist, stage maker and coder there...
Aaaaaanyway enought oversharing of my mk fan status... I want to talk about the movie that's coming in the near future. And I'd like to hear your toughts about it too, because i'd like to know how many people is in the same boat with me, and what other perspectives there may be over here. My toughts? well... i wasn't specting anything, being sincere. There's been several movie atemps, rumors and anouncements the past years; as well, as various liveaction shows that got canceled at some point. Mortal kombat is a hit or miss franchise, it always had been, and the fanbase is a mixed bag full with people that will love anything "no mater what" and people that will rant pages and pages of hate just because Scorpion's costume is not "yellow enought" (I've seen this... i'm not joking). So, when the movie trailer finally came, i was... surprised... I know, there were plenty of rumors, leaked photos in the set, oficial movie posters, a list of casted actors and movie screenshots...but i was still in denial. So it was a nice surprise, and the trailer was surprisingly good. They finally picked the bloody aproach people have been asking for since the very first movie back in the 90's. That's awesome. But there is a serious concern i've been facing over and over again in social media and friends about the movie plot and character roster. A lot of people is concerned that the new bloody aproach may damage the complex plot, or that the big amount/variety of character will make imposible for their favorites to have enought screen time/development (it looks like they even removed Jhonny cage from the thing and picked mileena but not kitana.). There are also some concerns about the "retconing" of certain events (like jax losing their arms on the hands of subzero instead of being ripped/chopped/exploded by ermac).
Guys, can someone explain to me ¿what's the big deal with all of that? like, I'm a big fan too, but why do you all take it that seriously? MK was always a parody like franchise. Yeah, it takes himself seriously, but watching the thing from the outside result in finding nonsense after nonsense after nonsense, and everysingle thing they add is a tribute to some tv show or movie trope from somewhere else. That's truth, The creators themselves have adressed these things several times. Most of the cast of characters and plot, on the first mk games, is based entirelly on movies like Bloodsport or Big trouble in little china. The game itlsef has dacapitating upercuts that somehow are capable of rip a head and toss it far far away in the sky, with a clean cut, without damaging the spine, nor pushing/moving the body at all (like if their feet where glued to the ground and their whole body was a single unamovable rock sculpture or something). We can enjoy the franchise and movie a lot more if we stop making a big deal from those little details. Mileena have "tan skin" in the movie... so what? have you noticed how mileena looked diferent in everysingle game from mk2 to mk11?, she look european in one game, chinnese in the next, japanese in other game, have baraka teeth in one, lips in another, a mix of both in MKX... no big deal, just our everyday MK nonsense. Heck! Jax looked waaaay older in mk4 than it looked in mk2 and mk3... but got a lot younger in mk5-mk6-MKarmaggedon.. or how jax (again) looked a lot older in mk9 and mkx than in MK11, they don't even look like the same person and when timetravel magic happened in said game and young jax appeared, it was not MKX jax.. nor MK9 jax... no.. it was a younger mk11 jax. XD. Again guys, Not big deal. This is not The lord of the rings. This is a franchise based on Action B-Movies, these are not "mistakes", these are design choices. These characters are just "characters", and they look like diferent people because maybe, just maybe, we should read it as "this character is being played by a new actor now, but is the same character, just "recasted" with another guy", you know.. like it happens on movies and long terms tv shows? I know it sounds a little stupid, it sounds like "it's not a bug, it's a feature" thing some developers have tried to use in the past on theirgames, but in this particular case, the whole thing has a satirical B-movie tribute design perspective that actually justify these things. The design pylosohpy even help to justify retcons... they even pulled the "multiverse" kind of thing in the last game. With the last game they just said "okey, everygame is canon now!, every spinoff is canon. If you see something that doesn't work in the story, or something that doesn't looks right, or that doesn't got mentioned again, or that changes from game to game, that's because you're watching at a diferent timeline where things went a little diferent". yes.. that's the implication of it all. I know it may sound cheap, but again, the whole thing is based on 80's movies and action B-movies So no big deal guys. There is now a plot explanation for every little change they want to make on games, movies, comics or whatever.
There are guys mad as hell with subzero ripping Jax arms, sitting on their "big fan chairs" saying "uh... actually this is wrong.. Ermac was the one ripping jax's arms.. they don't even know the story of their own franchise. shame.. shame on them!". Take it it easy man, no big deal. Is a movie, the director and writers need to adapt things to the plot they have, if they don't have ermac in the movie, but want to explain how jax losed their arms, they should try a diferent aproach.. maybe they're trying to build some kind of antagonistic relationship between subzero and jax or something. Besides, Jax lose their arms to ermc only in the 2011's new timeline, in the classic timeline he didn't lose their arms in a fight with ermac. Jax used a mechanical strenght enchancer first (MK 3 and MK special forces) and then eventually got more and more cybernetic implants to the point those where full mechanical now. In the old movie they even made the metal arms work as some kind of "metal globes you atach to your arms to make your stronger but slower" (yep). No big deal. these things change all the time.
I know there are young people (and not so young ones) that had "the NEED" to prove their likes and hobbies are not "dumb" or "kid like", they desperatedly need it to look "mature", "on point" and "complex" so nobody will make fun on them or something. I get it, there are assholes that may make fun of you for liking X thing, or even people dealing with insecurity that may feel like shit for liking something that's not "mature/complex/detailed" enought, because they thing they are what they like, and their hobby somewat defines their whole being. But things got a lot better when you just stop being so hard on things not being that way. It's okey if you like nonsesical things, or dumb things, or simpler things, or not "mature enought" (XD) things. You're just making it harder for you to enjoy the thing, you're gatekeeping yourself from your own likes.
Also, id like to point that my "not big deal" thing is not like I'm saying we should just take anything they give us and never rant or critique, or something like that, like if our voices didn't matter, or we should eat shit just because it came in a nice box. But, as soon as we stop looking at the little unimportant things that are not even part of the product in the first place, we can start adressing other situations on the same fanbase and production. Anyway... I'll stop there.. i was going to talk about the movie and started talking about the comunity and random life lessons.
Getting back into the movie thing. I'm still in denial i guess... It could be canceled tomorrow and i'll be ready for it. XD... but if the movie happens, I don't have any expectations. Well, i have one. There is this new character they added, This "Cole"... I'm actually very excited to see what the hell they're going to do with this new guy.. is it Jhonny cage with another name? is he the son of scorpion? They mentioned they wanted to give scorpion more screentime and protagonism in the plot, however, even as Ed Boon's favorite he never as that important for the main plot on the first games (his revenge story was just a subplot Jhon Tobias write to add some mystery to the plot as well as expanding the universe... did i ever mentioned how i'm in the side of those that things that the whole mk plot came from tobias mind and not Boon's? well, yeah.. i'm from those) ... maybe as scorpion son they could give the yellow ninja some more screentime. But.. he has the dragon birthmark... does that mean he's related to the tournament somhow? is he the chossen one instead of LiuKang? is he related to the elder gods from the franchise? (the dragon logo is refered to them, not just the tournament) . I don't know. But I WANT TO KNOW. Do you have any theory to share? because again I WANT TO KNOW. XD.
This same thing happened to me with the first movie back in the 90's... That tiger sounding capoeira guy... what was the deal whit him? he was awesome! what about "Art Lean"? that martial artist that only appeared in the old movie (the one killed by goro), but not in the games... the ones in the tournament were chossen ones or people sent there to represent earthrealm and defend our people from the outworld bad guys... this Art Lean was not little thing! he was a chossen one!... like Liu Kang, like Sonya, like Jhonny Cage!.. i want to know more about him! I want him in the games or something. XD

As mentioned earlier I'm open for some intereaction and random chat. It doesn't have to be about the MK movie or franchise. Anything cool to tell? something you'd like to know about me? I'll do my best to answer it (it could be about art, hobbies, games, life, movies... you know, the usual stuff). ^_^ i'd like to hear more about you. Something interesting about you, a cool acomplishement or something awesome that happened to you latelly. Those kind of things always inspire/cheer me. Is not like I'm a bad mood or something, but the world is a little crazy right now, full with not so good news everyday, and I'd love to hear good things too. ^_^ I'll start with sharing about my health status.. As you know I've been a little ill latelly, a really bad flu and epic coughs that made imposible to do anything at all. Thankfully i'm better now and back on track. I tried to use that time to rest and play some videogames (I used to be one of those hardcore gamers, with big game colectionsof cartdridges and cd's... but today i barelly play anything, and when i do, it's usually an oldchool game i've already played and love, or an oldschool game in my colection i was never able to finish). Since it was imposible for me to exist, action, plataform and precision based games were out of the equation. So tried the Final Fantasy X and X2 games on the good old ps2 (i was going to try the HD colection on steam, but after watching the trailers, and the new face designs and colors, i choose to just play the classic ps2 one on my old Tv... it was a cool experience, besides, i was able to play while resting on bed, something i really needed). I enjoyed it a lot, even tried to do the completionist route in my first run (you know, talk with everysingle npc, got everysingle treasure and weapon, every sidequest, got every unlockable skill and colectable.. like in the old days), but oh man... I'm old. XD... It's too much. FFX is the one with harder and longer endgame sidequests i've ever experienced in a final fantasy game... and i don't have all the time in the world anymore, besides, I was feeling like shit because of the flu, i was in no position to put 99hours into mastering everysingle minigame and secret optional boss. No way... so I finished just half of them and killed the final boss, calling it a day. I guess my days as a completionist are over, but that's okey... it was an awesome experience i actualy got tears on my eyes with the ending. I do actually believe that it helped me on the recovery from the flu.. i coughed less while focussin in the game, while everytime i picked the pencil it was nightmare, maybe it has to do with stress or something... and yeah.. i wasn't able to just rest.. i needed to be productive one way or another... so wasn't able to justplay the game.. i had to try to get the 100% of it (maybe i need help. XD). Then i started FFX2 (again in the ps2), I'm enojying the experience so far (again, I tried the completionist route, but aparently havent' talked to someone i should have in chapter 1, and i'm at chapter 3 now and everything is messed up now... and i won't restart being this far... too bad. I'll look at the good ending on youtube i guess. XD). But haven't played it since i got back into commission work. So i'll let you know how that went maybe on December or something. XD
besides playing videogames again... i was finally able to visit my family some weeks ago...you know I'm on full quarentine mode since March 2020 (i have lots of old relatives with respiratory, so need to be extra carefull), so every oportunity i have to visit them is like a big thing. Thankfully our country is starting with the vaccination.. so i hope things get better soon. I'd love to hang out with friends and family again, and play DnD for the love of god! I swear that as soon as everything got secure again I'll call my players back to the table, and spend 2 whole days just playing DnD with them or something. I need it so bad.

However, my recomendation to those waiting for a slot, that feels the list is a little too long, is the same as always: If you're on a rush, if you need to have everything ready asap for a deadline please seek another artist, cause right now I can't promise a short turn around.

besides playing videogames again... i was finally able to visit my family some weeks ago...you know I'm on full quarentine mode since March 2020 (i have lots of old relatives with respiratory, so need to be extra carefull), so every oportunity i have to visit them is like a big thing. Thankfully our country is starting with the vaccination.. so i hope things get better soon. I'd love to hang out with friends and family again, and play DnD for the love of god! I swear that as soon as everything got secure again I'll call my players back to the table, and spend 2 whole days just playing DnD with them or something. I need it so bad.

Posted 5 years agookey, not exactly "The flu", but a really hardcore flu. I'm in bed most of the day with really bad cough and some minor pains. Got tested for covid and got a negative (what makes sense, since i've been practically living under a rock, since March 2020). In their words: "looks like you don't have covid, but you surelly got a bad flu, take the same precautions as if you were on covid, and this meds, and keep us updated, cause it may evolve into covid." Aparently i got the test too early on my symtoms, so it could be a "false negative". So i'll keep you all updated on this.
Right now, I'm having a super hardtime working on commissions.,, the strong cough make me shake like crazy (i case you don't know I'm 45kg in weight, that means that any strong snezze or cough does make my whole body shake, and sometimes even let me with pain in the back or chest because of the sudden shaking)... the best i can do is work a little in the morning when the symptoms are lower, but it got worse with the day to the point i can't work anymore and need to stop (I've found it has to do with stress or something, cause when I'm sleeping or relaxed i'm better, but as soon as my mind start overthinking or i start working on something (anything: even dishwashing) the cough starts like crazy again, like a machinegun of dry strong coughs)
Anyways... I want to apology in advance to everyone that's waiting for their commissions. I'm trying to work on them as much as i can, but the time i can put on them got super limited now. So i beg you patience till i get a little better (at least enought to work without shaking like crazy)
I'm taking my medications, drinking a lot of water, resting more, and doing my best to get back at 100% as soon as posible.

This guy is now telling lies with my old telegram account to my friends there. He's saying I'm dead, and that i was killed by ISIS.

Posted 6 years agoATENTION! i've been hacked on telegram. Some dickhead changed my profile photo and name and started sending porn to my contacts, friends and clients. It's named like "Pedro" (my name is not pedro, as you all know) If you have me on telegram, please remove my account or don't answer to his messages. I already erased everything on my chats with everysingle contact so they won't be able to use anything from there to mock or harass people (this person doesn't speak english aparently, so most of my english speaker friends are safe, just ignote the randomg vagina and dick picks this guy is sending)

Posted 6 years agoAye aye everybody, I'm in the mood of answering questions and starting random chitchat in the comments, just for the sake of it.
it could be any theme: Art, movies, videogames, fantasy, tabletop RPG, food, my country situation (XD), I'm even interested in hear more about you, like how was your day? how have you been? any cool achievement or good news you wanna share?
I'll start myself, We've been working really hard here trying to build our new place. Jenna and Me are doing great so far. Building a house is not easy, nor cheap, so I'm ultra gratefull with everyone of you for the support. We wouldn't be able to get our own place without your commissions, shares and watches. ^^
Finally got to play D&D with my group again, It's been almost month and a half since our last session, so we had a lot of recap to do, but was fun. Most of our sessions are 2 parts meetings, the first one is chitchat and dinner and the second is an all night D&D session, but dult life is starting to affect us all, between work college and obligations, we can't anymore just spent 3 complete days playing D&D (like in stranger things. XD). It was really cool, we got Gohan for dinner. <3
... so yeah random thingshere and there, but not much happening in my life, mostly working for this dreamed place.

NEED YOUR HELP PEOPLE! (ABDL Art Account and ¿¿¿Patreon?

I've been thinking for a while about this all, but I'd like to know more about what YOU think about it.
I know a good portion of my followers are from the ABDL comunity, something i'm ultra gratefull (not only with you ABDL fans, but with all the other followers who are not into this but remain on my watchers list, even when they see from time to time things you don't like). And as you know, i try my best to offer my my services for everyone regardles their likes, hobbies and fetishes or if I am or not into what they are requesting (as long as I'm not asked to draw things I'm against, like Underage NSFW, or Pro-Rape Art). However!... I'm getting bigger and bigger as an illustrator and designer, my name is becoming more popular and a lot of new oportunities are appearing everyday, some are TCG's, VideogameArt, TabletTop companies, business brands, conferences on events and even a job as a college teacher...
The thing is... we all know some people don't aprove this kind of art and it may end in a backlash for me. Some people don't like the idea that the same guy who draws orcs and demons for a serious company is also drawing fanarts of final fantasy characters wearing diapers, or big humanoid wolfs sleeping on nurseries.
So i've been thinking on making a new account for these things, I'm still not sure about it. But It may help if I do. So people could watch what they want without watch what they don't want (as easy and obvious as it sound. XD).
Also, I've hear a lot of you on comments, messages and notes asking about requests regarles ABDL themed pieces and characters. Sadly, I'm not able to say yes. I'm a fulltime freelancer illustrator, the commissions i make are the ones that pay the bills and food. And don't really have spare time nor money to engage in requests of such type. In the same way i've received notes about people wanting to support me with tips, cause they can't afford full commissions or because they want to support me with extra money. But you all know me, I love to give things in return, so a patreon sounds like a good idea. Now.. I can't really make a patreon for my general art, cause it will produce the same problem about mixing abdl and not abdl art. so It will be abdl only. ¿why? cause most people who contected me with these ideas are abdl people.
I don't really know how this all works, i'm still new to this patreon things, I'm researching about it and learning. But I just wanna be sure everyone is happy. I don't like paywalls, so final pieces that result from there will be avaible for everyone too eventually. Maybe i'll focuss more on sketches and fanarts, so they don't interfere with my already tight workaround. Is not my intention to slow down my commissions. Comissions will always be my priority.
So.. yeah... don't know this are all ideas in my mind, but it will all depend on you.

Feel free to make a question related to art, commissions, my past, hobbies, random fantasy and games, philosophy, my toughts on X thing... and i'll do my best to answer (I may decline some very private questions, but I'm more or less an open book). My style is semirealistic, everypiece I make is fullshadded and colored
(i can make exceptions but, you have to ask for it. I'm a graphic designer too, so I'm able to work with abtract logos, isometric style, semi toony pieces, sketches, speedpaint gritty style, etc... ^^).
I can draw almost any character and theme. from fantasy and SciFi to Fetishes and EverydayScenes. Human, Anthros, Animals, Creatures, Monsters, Machines, Undeads, Demons, Weapons, Objects, backgrounds, Clothing, Logotypes... Feel free to ask, I'm sure I can make a cool piece for you!! ^^
