Another year gone by, let's hope 2018 proves better than 2017. Have a good one, everyone!

As I am about to head down to the shoot site for the annual fireworks show that i'll be doing, I can only say; Happy new year everyone! Don't blow off any fingers or such now.

Well, as of this posting, it has been about a hour and 30 minutes since we entered December 1st, meaning 2017 is approaching fast; Faster than I thought it would be.

While leaving 2016 and the bad and good things it brought; I can't but feel nostalgic about it, first time attending Confuzzled; Meeting up with quite a few of people. Certainly hope i'll have the time and money to attend it again, the absolute best furcon i've visited so far.

Likewise going for Eurofurence, while I do not believe it went quite as well as I had hoped.. I certainly hope i'll be able to catch a lot of familiar faces next time around, if I make it!

And with that in mind, if I have any other pyrotechnicians out there, like myself, stocking up for New Years/Sylvester or other proffesional shows; Make sure you mind your fingers and regulations :)

Recently I was involved in the purchase of two quite scarce medals. These were supposedly WW2 German productions for a specialized unit, costing around 400 and 500 USD each. These were recieved from a, in my book, respected and well known dealer in Militaria.

Payment sent, and items recieved.

After a quick inspection, however, the more expensive item out of the two seemed quite off - details that any medal manufacturer would shun were present, soft details on parts which should be extremely sharp. It was likewise confirmed to be a after-war production by several experts in the area - amongst myself.

Thusly, a sendback was arranged, but not after quite a bit of turning down offers for a exchange, rebates and other manners of coercion from the seller in question - keep in mind, this was a 500 USD medal. Though, eventually the seller, after having recieved copies of other experts, concluding the item in question was indeed a fake, was he reluctant to take it back.

After about half an hour when I recieved my payment back on said medal, a alternative account of the seller started harassing me on several forums, demanding to know why I thought the medal in question was a fake, and whether I had any knowledge in the area.

All in all, it ended well, at least so far. But please, please! If you collect militaria, and especially German World War 2 militaria and associated items, make sure you KNOW your seller, don't buy the history - buy the item. Should anyone of you have any questions regarding German WW2 militaria or associated Government groupings, feel free to contact me and I will do my best to voice my opinion on them, don't be scammed like I almost was.

History is never a crime - But lying, fabricating the truth, attempting to scam and threatening IS!

Had a great time, as always :D Also loved the charity people this year, certainly seemed like they got into the party mood with the rest.

Well, Cfz 2016 was certainly an interesting experience, definitely one of the better cons I have been to. People were extremely laid back, hotel staff and attendees alike, even though I might not have been quite so laid back myself, due to personal reasons.

Though, definitely a con that will forever have a place in my heart, just hope I will manage to get back to it next year! :D Also a great thanks to the staff, hotel and everyone else I got to meet and speak to, couldn't have asked for a better time to take minds off real life, if only for a bit.

However, coming back to real life, means taking on responsibilities you would rather not wish to.

My dog I have had for 15 years, apptly named Pearl, had to be put down on the 2nd of June; At 19:45; I hope she finally found some peace and now runs free on the green fields in heaven.

So, I will be unable to attend Eurofurence 21 this year :( Though, I will spend some time in Belgium next month, from the 8th until the 10th, should there be any Belgian furs who would like to meet up with me, and another Belgian fur? :) Maybe share a few beers? ... And welcome 2013.

Well, this year has certainly been.. eventfull, to say the least. In the early months of this year, I saw Rammstein play live, something I have wanted to see since nearly the first time I heard them. Playing some of their very best songs throughout their career, it was one hell of an evening. The music was loud, the pyrotechnics were stunning, and the performance the band put on was even better. Replaying such moments as the beginning of Mein Teil and Buck Dich and many others, using the whole scene area and more, it was one of the many experiences this year that I will never forget. I can only hope that I will manage to catch them live more before they call off live performances, or worse.

And so, one of many events came to pass this year, and it would also help set the mood for the remainder of it.

After that time went on, until around May, at which point another milestone this year happened; A very big meet in Stockholm, which lasted two days and saw around 30 attendees; and which also saw me getting real close to fursuiters for the first time ever. It was a very eventfull two days, with bowling, two outings and much more, I can still remember seeing two fursuiters coming bouncing out of the elevator to the mall the first outing was in; It really was a awesome moment. Following that was a long outing in the mall, coupled with bad rain.. which really showed it's face when we were leaving, as it truely was pouring down.

I believe it was later that day when the bowling was scheduled for, yet another.. well, interesting event. It was quite comical watching the fursuiters bowling, but I do think they managed to get some good overall scores.

The following day started off with a gathering of everyone who was in the meet; going through some info for the next outing, which was set to go through parts of Stockholm. Yet another awesome moment as there must have been at least 10 - 15 suiters, if not more, wandering through parts of Stockholm, having their photos taken and such. Some were surprised, many were intrigued; Well, except perhaps the palace guards in where the tour was going.. but that never really became a problem.

Fastforwarding beyond that, I know that there was at least a few more meets, more friends met.. afraid I don't quite remember it all.

Fastforwarding further, there was a meet in Denmark that I managed to attend to, thanks to two of my friends going; Infact, there was gonna be more from up here going down, but there were complications in the way on the day we were supposed to leave. Alas, it was still a very fun trip; Met lots of new people, some of you will perhaps be sitting and reading this at the very moment.

This year also saw my first visit to a furcon, Eurofurence. Perhaps the biggest milestone in this whole year, being able to mingle with thousands of other furries, hundreds of suiters and finally being able to meet Uncle Kage and 2_Gryphon, along with many more people. Several of whom I knew before, some of which were new. All in all, it was one hell of an experience.. I can only hope I will be able to attend next year.

As a sidenote; If you are going to EF in 2013, preferably by car and you have a empty seat, drop me a note on here, or mail me.

Moving on.. what more is there.. well, of course, plenty of meets inbetween the events I have spoken of, there are simply too many for me to remember. Smaller meetings as well, getting to know a lot of new people, many of whom I know I, unfortunately, haven't quite been keeping contact with. A fault on my side, as I prefer not to chat much in case people are busy, I am busy or anything as such. Will try to fix that next year.

Ah yes, perhaps I should mention the last meet I was at for the year.. it took place earlier this month, if I recall correctly. It was a small meeting of 3 suiters and a few non-suiters taking a small stroll in Stockholm in the winter cold, once again attracting many curious looks and photos to be taken.

While I know that I must have met at least a hundred new friends during this year, and I have of course met far more people than that of whom I never managed to quite catch the name of, or remember to ask for any contact information, I will only mention two here, the very two who enabled this year to be as good as it was, at least in my opinion. Either by dragging my tail along to meets, being there when I needed it, and generally being awesome. I owe them my thanks for letting me lift along to Eurofurence and to Denmark, and for introducing me to so many other wonderful people, you all should know who you are; I would rather do it this way, then to add tons of people, and forget to add the rest.

So, thank you, Lightfox and Hassel, for this whole year. I doubt it could have gone any better than it did, and I can only hope that next year will be even a fraction as awesome as this one was. Thank you.

And while this year will end in neither one of any of you great furs company; I can only say that life gives, and life takes; Sometimes more than it gives, but this year, it has given far more than it has taken. I can only wish you all stay safe to enjoy the new year, and all that it will bring.

So, moving on to next year.. well, what is there set in stone there? I will be attending Nordic Fuzz Con, will try my hardest to be at Eurofurence yet again. I also have a job interview in Januari, so hopefully that will net something. My plans to stop drinking will also see it's stresstest next year; This year has not only given me plenty of happiness, it has also brought about some change in my own mindset regarding many of my habits. Perhaps one of the most destructive, as some will be more aware than others, has been drinking.. though, I can safely say that, in the quantities I have once needed it, next year I will hopefully not need it.

And with that, while I know we aren't quite there yet, Happy New year.

Well, as I am typing this, I believe around 48 hours or so have gone by since Eurofurence 18 ended. It was a great time, even if there were a few hiccups during Tuesday, the con got quite a bit better the longer it went on, and by now, I am suffering from PCD. I finally got to meet a lot of good friends, and make some new ones; And also get some very nice loot from the dealers den - and even a commission slot with one of my favorite artists.

Quite a shortened down version of what happened, of course, though, I can safely say, that despite the setbacks I had, this will most likely be one of the best furcons I will ever have visited. Now, onto Eurofurence 19, and Confuzzled 2013; And beyond that, AnthroCon awaits, the final goal in it all.
