The Couch Round IV is Full!
General | Posted 15 years agoWoo! Thanks everyone! All 20 spots on the couch are filled. I'm going to start pairing people off and sketching things out this weekend. ^_^
"Sapphwolf" wrote:Ok, this time round I'm going to do things a little differently. The last couch was just enormous and was hard to post here so I'm going to break it up into 4 or 5 somes and post each set on the couch individually. Those who participate in couch will receive the full sized version of each set as well as a traditional long couch version that I won't be posting here.
Same deal for entry, $35 gets you a seat on the couch. I'm taking 20 spots. If you'd like a spot please send an email to sapphirewolfproductions@gmail.com. I'll be updating this list as I go through applications and posting it here. If you'd like to be paired with someone it would be advisable to work that out before you submit your application. Please let me know in the email if you're gay, straight bi and top, bottom or switch. (It's handy to know for pairing).

JonothonCommissions Open! Last Round for awhile.
General | Posted 15 years agoAlright, well I am taking my last round of commissions for awhile. Same rules as usual. Nothing too strange or creepy, but I'll keep an open mind, "complicated" is a judgment call made by me, prepaid only via paypal (hopefully this the last time I have to do this), the prices for commissions are found in the footer of this email, and if you would like a commission please send an email to sapphirewolfproductions@gmail.com.
I'm going to update this journal as I get commissions so if this doesn't say that I'm full up and you would like a commission go ahead and send the email! ^_^
And with that I'm officially taking commissions!

teentitan100 Sketch Challenge
General | Posted 15 years agoBecause I get a lot of questions about the 100 Sketches since I've been doing commissions a lot lately I just wanted to make a journal to set the record straight. I haven't forgotten about the challenge nor have I decided to not do it. The problem is doing that and balance doing commissions is complicated. I really am trying the best I am. Since the sketches don't take me very long and I will usually sit down and do 4 or 5 a session I tend to wait until I have 8 to 15 of them before I scan them all in and post them.
I do apologize to those who have been waiting on them for awhile because I haven't done the best job (downright terrible job) of keeping everyone updated on what's going on. For that I am truly sorry. You have all been very patient with me and I appreciate it. I probably won't get to posting them up until after the move next week, but I should have the next batch up around the 4th. Stay tuned!

Moving
General | Posted 15 years agoOk, just a heads up for everyone, but especially those I owe commissions to. The year contract on the apartment is almost up and Mal and I are moving out. Because of this a lot of my time is going to be spent sorting through things. Packing up/Throwing away stuff for most days of the week and driving the hour long drive to the new place a couple days a week to unload stuff. Needless to say that I won't have a lot of time to be working on commissions so my output this month is going to be pretty slow. I do apologize for that since I know several people have been waiting patently since December, but this move will give me a chance to try to work through my back log and get everyone their commissions as well as let me work on a couple projects I've been wanting to work on I know people will be interested in like an actual for print comic, putting together some art CD's as well as some new poster and print items. Wish me luck! *goes back to packing*
Commissions Open!
General | Posted 15 years agoOk peoples now that I've got my new tablet and I'm back to working at full speed I'm taking on 6 new commissions! Just as last time if you'd like a commission please send an email to sapphirewolfproductions@gmail.com. As always these are prepaid commissions and on a first come first serve basis so send those emails quickly! I'll update this journal as soon as I have all six!

Woo! Tablet! Yay Problems!
General | Posted 15 years agoOk, good news first. The tablet arrived! It's SOOO pretty. I'm gonna love it to death... as soon as I can get it fully functional...
Pretty!
Ok, here's the issue. Right now I'm using Photoshop CS3 and as you all know I just go the intuos4 M. (Which is preeeetttty) However, when I open up photoshop it will not recognize that I'm using a device with pressure sensitivity. I open up the brushes tab in photoshop, got to shape dynamics and I have the "size jitter" set to 0% with pen pressure. When I have pen pressure selected it has a little warning icon next to it that when moused over says "control by pen pressure requires a pressure sensitive tablet" When I go to the tablet options it can sense the pen pressure and I've added Photoshop as one of the applications for pen pressure so it shouldn't be a driver issue.
Things I have done to rectify the situation thus far:
-Went to wacom.com downloaded newest drivers for my tablet. Restarted computer
-Unplugged old Wacom tablet to prevent issues there. Restarted computer
-Made sure to turn off all programs that might be eating up too much memory for Photoshop to use pressure sensitivity.
-Plugged tablet directly into PC and not a hub to make sure it's getting enough power.
-Cursed a lot
None of these have alleviated the problem.
[EDIT] Installed just the drivers from the CD on the lap top and it works like a dream. They're both running the same version of vista with the same settings in photoshop so... I'm lost. I'm going to reinstall the drivers on the PC and see if that fixes the problem.

General | Posted 15 years agoOk, to expedite the situation with the tablet I'm offering up one, (possibly two depending on circumstances) full color, shading and background yiff commission to go towards the "Sapph Needs A New Tablet" fund! Yes folks! That's a $100 commission going to keep Sapph doing what he (and presumably you) would like him to keep doing! Straight or gay doesn't matter! (as long as it doesn't violate any of the "won't draw that criteria like Nazis, babyfurs and extreme bondage)
The only way to be fair about this is to have it be a "first come first serve" basis. So the first person to post a comment "He's Dead Jim." gets the commission. Go!
[EDIT] Apologies. I apparently wasn't very clear up there. The Donations are coming in as fast as I had hoped. So basically I'm asking someone to donate $100 and I'll draw yiff for them.

It's dead...*cries*
General | Posted 15 years agoWell... looks like my tablet is more or less dead at this point. No matter how much I fiddle with the cords or anything else I can only get a few minutes of functionality out of the thing before dies on me again. So until I can manage to get a replacement, which shouldn't take too long hopefully I'm not going to be able to work on the full color commissions. On the plus side I can burn through the 100 sketch challenge pics a lot faster in the mean time!
My Tablet is Dying!
General | Posted 15 years agoWell, signs are pointing to the fact that my silver tablet won't be with us much longer. The wiring is going bad. I'm not terribly disappointed in my tablet though. For a $35 off brand tablet from a company I've never heard of before I bought this I think a 4 year run is pretty good. It has served me well, but while I can keep it going a while longer on my own I'm going to need a new one.
I'm looking at getting the intuos4 medium as a replacement which is $309 including shipping. It's a wacom and the size I need so it will last me for at least a decade so it is well worth the investment. Not to mention the easy keys and the touch ring should really improve productivity.
As I am living off of commissions and such, and as I am reluctant to take on more if avoidable with the back log I already have since I'm going to have to take some more come the end of this month. I know that everyone is pretty tight for cash at the moment, but I'm pretty much stuck depending on the kindness of strangers. If you all out there really like my art and want me to be able to continue to make more then I'm asking for those to donate just a small amount to the me to help me keep what you want me to keep doing. If I just had 20 people donate $15 I'd have almost enough right there. If you wanna help me out then make an online donation via paypal to satphirewolf@hotmail.com. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.
I'll be adding peoples names down here as I get donations. When I reach my mark I might just have something special for those who helped get my new tablet. ^_^

CSSTails $30Computer not crashed!
General | Posted 15 years agoOk... so... after a week of my computer being down and backing up files and everything my friend came over to reinstall the hard drive. I figured for shits and giggles I'd let it boot up normally just to see what would happen. I fully expected it to stall while booting windows like it had been this whole time. Well this time round it works like a charm. Windows informed me that it had crashed after a fatal error occurred. I had it run a diagnostic to see if could tell me what had gone wrong. Apparently my video card stopped working, but now was working fine... We're guessing that the video card had come loose at some point and so it wasn't fully connected, which was causing windows to freak out and have an aneurysm every time I turned the computer on. When we reinstalled the hard drive and put everything else back into place we must have fully reattached the video card. Thus everything works again.
So my computer broke, but in a way that could have been fixed in 5 minutes if we'd known what was wrong, but since we didn't we assumed it was something worse than it was and thus we ended up spending a week trying to fix it the hard way. Well as far as things it could have been much worse and much more expensive. So I'm just annoyed at myself since the solution was so easy. So I'm going on mostly full cylinders again. My ancient monitor finally crapped out on me so I'm looking for a replacement. Once I have two monitors again I'll be set, but the main thing is I'm back in business.

Commissions!
General | Posted 15 years agoOK, still working on fixing my computer. Mostly done. Just getting all the files off the hard drive before I reformat it and reinstall Windows. Yay!
Regardless time marches on and it's about that time for rent to be coming up again and thus, it's about time for me to be taking commissions again.
Nothing special. Just plain old commissions. After talking with people and doing some thinking and calculating I've revised my prices. It's a little more complicated so I'm going to lay them out in detail here.
Basically I'm ripping off the metric system, but I'm doing things in increments of $15.
Head shots, icons and con badges are all $15.
Pencil Sketches are $15. These are all just the like ones I'm doing for the 100 sketch challenge (which I'm still doing. No one panic.)
Black & White Ink is a total of $30 ($15 for the initial sketch and $15 for the ink.) I take the initial sketch I do for every picture, scan it into the computer and redo the lines, making them all nice and crisp.
Black & White Shading is a total of $45 ($15 for the sketch, $15 for the ink, and $15 for the shading.) After making the lines look all nice and crisp I then add in all the shading on the character for the piece. I can do a realistic shading like I have in the example below, or anime style cell shading. Whichever you prefer.
Flat Color No Shading is a total of $45 ($15 for the sketch, $15 for the ink, and $15 for the color) With this I take the ink that I just did and fill it in with the color for the character.
Color w/ Shading is a total of $60 ($15 for the sketch, $15 for the ink, $15 for the color, and $15 for the shading) With this I add in the flat color and then go over it and do shading to the character as well. As before I can do both realistic and cell shading.
Color w/ shading and background is $75 ($15 for the sketch, $15 for the ink, $15 for the color, $15 for the shading and $15 for the background) Finally I take the colored and shaded sketch and give it a background. As it stands I'm only doing backgrounds on full color and shading pictures and nothing else at the moment. This may change in the future, but not now.
I'm looking to pick up 5 commissions. As always (unfortunately) I'll need these to be prepaid. Go ahead and send an email to sapphirewolfproductions[at]gmail.com if you're interested. Be sure to give a description of what you'd like and and examples of your character or the character(s) you want me to draw and what kind of picture you'd like. If I OK your piece I'll include exactly how much your piece will cost (unless you have something crazy it should be as I outlined above) and give you the paypal address to send the payment to.
I am living off my commissions at the moment and nothing else so I do really appreciate all of you and I'm trying to be faster at getting everything done. Life permitting I hope to be drama free quite awhile. Be that crazy relationship issues, family emergencies and massive computer failures. If some kind-hearted people out there wanted to just make a donation to me satphirewolf[at]hotmail.com is the paypal address one could send those too. I'm really not expecting any, but I thought I'd mention.

Computer CRASH!
General | Posted 15 years agoGrrr... Well I apparently broke my desktop. Which is aggravating to say the least. And it couldn't have happened at a more inconvenient time as my friend who would be able to help me fix it is going to be out of town for a week. Blah. Well I have my lap top at least, but colors on here don't translate well to other computers. So, I'm gonna keep workin on stuff in the mean time, but I'm not going to be able to put up anything until I get my computer back up and running. *sigh*
Art Unblocked!!! The Couch Round III!
General | Posted 15 years agoThanks everyone! Slots are full up for Round III of the couch. Look for the finished version about this time next month!
"SapphWolf" wrote:Woo! Ok. I'm finally through my horrible stress and depression induced art block and I'm back producing art as fast as I can! Anyways, now that The Couch Round II is finished I'm taking spots for The Couch Round III!
As with the last two rounds cover charge is $35 which gets you a spot on the couch. If you're interested send an email to sapphirewolfproductions@gmail.com. Make sure to mention that it's for the couch in your Subject line and mention your sexual preference or if you'd like to be paired with anyone specific that has also bought a spot on the couch. You may purchase multiple spots for you and a friend or you and one of your characters. If purchasing spots for other people you may get as many as you want, but you may only purchase one extra spot for a character of yours. As always Sapph or Phire will make an appearance.
The completed picture will be put up on FA, those that purchase spots will get updates as I have them. They will also receive a full size version as the one that I put up here will be sized down significantly.

100 Sketch Challenge! (Still Going)

Each sketch is just $10. So this is a great deal. If you have any questions send me a note here. If you're interested in one of the 100 sketches send an email to sapphirewolfproductions@gmail.com. Once I've OK'd your piece send the $10 to satphirewolf[at]hotmail.com via paypal. Make sure to say your FA name in your comments so I know who it's from. ^_^
Still taking on requests for the 100 Sketch Challenge. Just FYI.

100 Sketch Challenge!
General | Posted 16 years agoOk... as some of you may have noticed my output has dropped dramatically over the last moth. Which is kind of bad since I kind of have a mountain of commissions to do. I've come down with a pretty chronic case of art block. So, this may or may not help, but I'm gonna give it a shot. I'm taking the 100 sketch challenge! This will also be valuable practice as sketching which should help me be faster in the future. I'm still going to work on my other commissions while I do these, but I'm going to focus on these since the point is to unblock the art block.

Without further adieu. Let the commissions begin!
[EDIT] I have filled my list. Thanks everyone who participated.

Commissions
General | Posted 16 years agoAlright people, I'm opening up general commission spots again. As per usual these days I'm trying to pay rent here so if you request a commission spot you are agreeing to send payment in advance. I would also like to stress simplistic. "These two characters having a snowball fight." is simplistic. "My character driving a monster truck while jumping through a giant flaming hoop" is not simplistic. If you're not sure if something is too complicated or not feel free to ask. Anyways, if you're interested go ahead and send me a note about your commission idea. To be fair this is on a first come first serve basis so once I'm full that's the end.
Prices:
Sketch: $15 (one character)
B&W (Inked): $30 (one character)
Color: $50 (one character)
Yiff: $70 (two characters)
Complicated background: +$10
Extra characters: +$10 (non yiff) +$20 (yiff)

Commission Spots Closed!
General | Posted 16 years agoAll spots are closed. Thanks to everyone got commissions from me. I really appreciate it!
"Sapphwolf" wrote:Ok ok! I give! I'll opening up 12 commission slots. As the holidays are upon us I want these to be holiday themed, but outside of that I'll take anything else inside my usual standards, yiff and non-yiff alike. I'm going to try and have these all done by Christmas so they would be great for a last minute Christmas present for your friend or mate. ^_^
As usual,
$50 for non-yiff (waving the $10 fee for extra characters since I'm expecting a lot of couples.)
$70 for yiff
+$10 for complicated backgrounds.
Send me a note with your idea and I'll let you know if you got one of the slots.

Wooo! Job!
General | Posted 16 years agoYay! I finally found a job! Just seasonal at the moment, but that should change come January and I'll be a full employee. It's a night stock position so it'll be a lot of late nights/early mornings depending on how you look at it. No biggy though. I like being awake at night. Kind of makes me feel like I get the world to myself for awhile. Yay for a steady paycheck! Now if only I could start before November I'd be bouncing up and down.
4 or 5 commission slots CLOSED!
General | Posted 16 years agoThanks all. I have my slots filled now. Keep watching to catch a spot on the big comfy couch!
Ok, well I'm still working on that job hunt, but in the mean time I still need to make some money. Progress on the couch is coming along rather well so I feel it's ok to take on a few more commissions. I'll be taking on 4 or possibly 5 of them depending on what people ask for. Like always these will be on a first come first serve basis though I may favor new commissioners over old ones since I know some people have been waiting for to get a commission from me for awhile.
These are regular commissions. No special gimmicks, though I am asking that they not be something too complicated or elaborate. Also given October is coming up and thus Halloween is fastly approaching something in the spirit of the season might be appropriate. Just as an idea for people if they want something but haven't decided on what they want yet.
These are going to be prepaid commissions. Asking for a commission means that you have the funds presently available and ready to send. Hopefully this will be the last time I have to do a set like this. *crosses fingers*
Like always go ahead and let me know you want one in the comments. To make sure that people have read everything end your request with "Are you the Keymaster?" (sorry, I've been watching Ghostbusters recently)
Well, lets get started then!

Couch-O-Love Update
General | Posted 16 years agoUpdate for all of you who are involved in or just waiting for the 12 person yifftastic group shot. I've been trying to work on it in between working on other commissions as well. Sadly all this has done slowing down the production rate for everything. So, I'm going to be finishing up the picture I've gotten the most progress on thus far (bluevmon this means you!) and then I'm going to work on nothing else until the couch is done. I want to have it done by the end of the month so I can do another one. Hopefully with faster results.
In other news. I'm still regular jobless. If anyone in the Lincoln NE area knows of anyone hiring for a non retail position I would really appreciate a heads up. ^_^

"Furry For Life!" T-Shirts! Woo!
General | Posted 16 years agoWoo! Ok, after a lot of work I've worked the "Furry For Life" design into a logo so it works on T-shirts as well as other things. I've got them in three different colors. Blue, Red and Green. Seen here I've also got some bags with the logo on it as well as some key-chains!
