I'm not gonna delete my whole gallery here, but I am not gonna be updating it anymore either. I'll still check this account occasionally for a while at least to catch any notes or comments but not forever.
SO YEAH please follow me under my new account! I don't have much more to say about it. I wish I could have changed my name here, but really, a fresh start doesn't feel too bad.
EDIT - I did move all my submissions into my scraps folder, just to avoid too many follows on this acct now that it's no longer updating. But its all still there and you can still go see it :3

TOP SURGERY - fat, disabled, non-binary experiences?
Posted 5 years agoSO. I am seeking top surgery as a non-binary person. I live in Minnesota. I am still trying to figure out if my insurance will cover it if I'm FTN instead of FTM. From what I've read, thats kind of hit or miss. Either way, whether I gotta jump through hopes for insurance or go out of pocket, its gonna happen.
However, in figuring out what I need to do and what I need to prepare for and what I may want it to look like, I would really love to be able to talk to some other people who have had it.
I am specifically looking for experiences from:
Top surgery experiences from either non-binary people or trans men who are fat and/or disabled.
Top surgery experiences and resources from non-binary people - BONUS if they are also fat and/or disabled.

Making Coloring Pages!
Posted 5 years agoI'm gonna be working on some coloring pages today to offer up for free online, as a nice thing I can do for people in these frightening and legitimately traumatizing times.
I like to color actually. Separate from my own art. I have coloring books and coloring has been really helping me cope.
I have some ideas already, including something with a TON of hair as I like to draw, as that's already been requested and I already thought that would be something people want in a coloring page from me lmao.

Posted 7 years agoIs there a different file type I should be using? (I currently use PNG) is there a different size? Like what witchcraft must I perform, what rituals must be completed, in order for my uploads to look NICE goshdangit!!!

I'm using Selkie Ingenue to represent my creative stuff as many places as I can, and going by Savi or Selkie if you like.
I don't mind being called Savannah but I am not going by Horrocks anymore except for when I need to use my legal name (and I may change that eventually)
I'm not comfortable explaining WHY at the moment in such a public place but. It's for pretty important personal reasons and life changes.
Anyhow. I know I could make a NEW account with the name I want... but I'm just exhausted thinking about doing that. I probably will at some point I just wish it were something you could change without having to do that...

Posted 9 years agoI don’t know if I have really truly covered this publicly, but I feel like it’s time.
I know that it’s at least somewhat common knowledge that i’ve been sick. For the past few years really. And up until semi-recently, I was hoping to find out what was wrong and get BETTER. Tests, even a surgery.
Well, turns out I have chronic fatigue syndrome. On top of other things, I am a mixed bag of health problems, but that’s the really truly disabling one.
If you know about or have chronic fatigue syndrome, you know there isn’t a cure or any real treatment right now. I saw a physical therapist, I have a decent doctor, and a decent therapist, and thankfully live in a state where weed is legal so I can use that to aid in managing my symptoms, but that’s all I can really do.
Manage my symptoms as best I can.
There are a lot of things I could say about how hard this is. It’s really fucking hard. I’m still in the process of adjustment and acceptance.
But what I need to talk about here is the impact it’s had on my art and my work.
I am struggling to learn how to spend a lot of time resting. To feel out my limits and work WITHIN them. I can’t work as much as I used to. Even when I try, I not only can’t, but I end up worse for wear for the attempt.
I am still making art, obviously. But I am still figuring out what a manageable workload for myself now is. I’m still adjusting to how this has not only changed my life, but my approach to my work as well.
I am re-learning how to DOODLE more. So the good news is, there will be lots of content for my patreon sketchbooks! I will also be uploading more doodles publically as I have energy, but the sketchbook on patreon is a sure bet to see what i’m filling my sketchbooks with.
I am going to be wary of taking on too much in the way of commissions. I can’t work as much as I used to, and recent commissioners have had long long waits, especially since I am still taking freelance work when I can, and work with deadlines is gonna take priority.
I guess I just wanted to post something and actually state what’s going on with me. That this isn’t I am/was sick and will get better and things will go back to normal - but that I am sick and this -is- my new normal and I am still figuring out what that means and how to live with it.

Posted 11 years agoHad my surgery on thursday morning! Everything went fine and my recovery has been going well. I am pretty wiped out, but my pain has been manageable!
Husband has been taking good care of me.
I'm sorry I didn't scan the quick sketches before my surgery. I did finish all of them but ran out of energy the night before surgery to scan them. Will be picking at that today.
I am still recovering, still tired, and slow.
That said - I only have a couple more badges that need to be picked up at Rainfurrest. FOR BADGE COMMISSIONS TO BE MAILED - I will probably not get these done until after Rainfurrest. Hitting an art block last week really slowed me down. I apologize for that and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns!

So just a heads up. Recovery shouldn't be -too bad- but I will still be recovering at Rainfurrest (thank goodness for not having a table and having a nice quiet room with one of my best friends)
Also, going to be CLOSING for badge orders after today. Reminder that Rainfurrest pick up gets priority, I am hoping to have them ALL done before the con but want to make sure that the Rainfurrest ones are DEFINITELY done.
