Best of Luck to Jamaica
Posted a week agoOn the news, I have heard that a Category 5 hurricane, Melissa, has struck the Caribbean nation of Jamaica. The hurricane is one of Jamaica's worst events of the 2020s, with many homes destroyed by winds of over 175 mph, not to mention claiming at least three lives. This disaster has also affected the Jamaican diaspora, of which I am a part of.
As a fellow Jamaican myself, all I can I am saddened by what happened, and hereby wish the residents the best of luck and may everyone who died in the hurricane rest in peace. I hope that one day, when the disaster ends, that Jamaica can repair itself, or if it cannot, get some help.

Black History Month
Posted a month agoin the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, we celebrate it in October (unlike the USA and Canada, who celebrate in February).

About Scissors
Posted a month agoScissors is a red-billed streamertail (aka doctor bird), the national animal of Jamaica.
“So, a bird who’s a doctor?”
No, the doctor bird is a nickname for the red-billed streamertail (scientific name: Trochilus polytmus). They are hummingbirds endemic to Jamaica. I chose this bird because I’m celebrating my Jamaican roots and it is the national animal and bird of Jamaica.
“Is he your fursona?”
Yes; he is my own character who represents me. We are canonically identical: same birthday, same disabilities, etc.
I first created him on 19 July 2025.
Physical appearance and attire
Scissors is a red-billed streamertail with yellow eyes. He wears grey glasses with yellow flashes. While he does not wear clothes most of the time, he also has two uniforms. One is his yellow shirt with a rainbow infinity symbol and the other is a blue tracksuit top (with a lighter vertical stripe) with white trousers.
Personality
Scissors is really intelligent and wants to make friends with you. He knows quite a lot on certain topics, most particularly flags. Sometimes, he wants to try to fit in with people.
At certain times, Scissors can be aggressive due to certain factors like being harassed or due to meltdown. He might also misinterpret some actions.

You can share your art, posts, or designs of Scissors, as long as:
* You give me credit.
* You do not make money from it.
* You do not alter or remix the character’s design.
What is not allowed
You cannot:
* Make “sus” or inappropriate art with Scissors, especially with some fetishes (e.g. bloating/inflation/weight gain, crushing/flattening, vore, etc.)
* Sell merch or use him for profit
