Posted 10 years agoHey all! If you follow me on FB, you likely know that the storms around here caused our back fence to blow over, and I need to help cushion the blow of getting repairs. So I'm doing little monochrome headshots on some lovely tan paper I have with ink, Copic marker, and white Prismacolor color pencil. Something I can do during my breaks from commission work with a quick turnaround.

$7 each - you can choose how heavy of inking you'd like it to have.

Posted 10 years agoStill working through the queue, waiting on markers that should have been here last Friday (screw you, Amazon, going with Merriartist from now on), and figuring out what to do with the 6-ft fence that fell in our backyard. I'm still working through the backlog, so commissions are closed, but I need to find a way to get a little more income coming in. Posted 10 years agoBeen makin' actual progress on stuff, I'm so excited. :D Summer break is really helping me play catch-up - and we recently acquired some helpful furniture from a friend who needed help with getting rid of a bunch of his aunt's stuff. It was a total win-win! I have an actual workspace now with decent lighting and internet access.
Thank you again to everyone for being so amazing. All the work y'all have had me doing has actually caused me to use up quite a few of my common markers - not too shabby for then having lasted me over 5 years, I'd say. :D I'm annoyed that I'm waiting on refills at the moment and that's slowed me down a bit, but both glad that I've actually been using these and have gotten enough work to validate using them and getting more. Will keep everyone posted. Thank you again for hanging in there with me.

Posted 11 years agoI really, really hate my cable company's call center. We've been being ganked around and told different information and had the internet shut off TWICE at the old place before we were supposed to move service. I thought it was an outage, and it took them three days to send someone out only to tell me, no, we just turned it off early. :SDLKJFS:LDJF At least they finally made things right (after a THIRD fuck up because of their lack of communication or not reading notes or whatever), and I finally have internet access at the new house, instead of having to haul all of my art and school stuff back to the apartment. I'm just super fucking further behind on everything than I already was.
We're in the final week of moving, so my other half and I are busting our butts getting the rest of the stuff out of the apartment and garage and into the new house and storage unit. We had hoped to be able to get rid of more stuff and condense, but unfortunately, we just haven't had the time. Did not help that the friends we were allowing to use our garage for their stuff STILL have not gotten everything out and we can't even GET to our stuff in the back half of the garage. They knew about this back in December when we found out were looking for a house. Xc We need to stop being so nice.
We also need to wait for the mattress place to come replace our new mattress. We've had it since the 11th of this month, and it's already sagging in a corner. The corner where I place my head. Because of course it is. I hope this new mattress doesn't do the same thing. Argh.
Commissions are still slowly inching along. I've been trying to set aside time each day to at least work a little bit on everything. I don't know if that's working better or not than just working one piece all the way through. asldfkjsa;df Ah well. We march on. We learn. We grow. And I can't thank everyone enough for being so great and understanding through this. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Posted 11 years agoIt's so good to be home. XD Sitting at Cup O'Karma at the usual meet-up. It's super quiet today, but I don't mind, because I can work on commissions without having to worry about everything. c: Yay progress!

Posted 11 years agoThis is what I get for succumbing to my mom's literal guilt-trips. I come home to Texas to appease her, and I get sick. Like always. Because no one takes care of themselves and the house is a disgusting disaster area. Blugh. Still working y'all. Thanks for being awesome. I really, really don't want to get my runny nose, coughing, sneezing grossesness on your pics. I was a fool to think I could get any work done here.
The only good things to come out of this trip is that I got to see my niece and nephew, and my brother and father finally know that I'm in a relationship with my other half. Needless to say, it's been quite an overwhelming trip emotionally. I spent most of the first days here in tears. They're supportive, at least. I'm so relieved. My mom still hates her guts for the stupidest reason.
Whatever, if my mom wants to keep deluding herself, she can. She still tries to let me know she loves me in her own way. Mostly through buying me stuff. So, if she wants to play that, fine. I'll take her up on it. I think my parents are going to help me get some new computer stuff to help with my art.
I'll be back in AZ on Wednesday night. I will mail out stuff as soon as I get back. Mailing stuff out from this part of Texas makes me uneasy. Way too many things that I sent out never made it.

Posted 11 years agoHey everyone! I wanted to thank everybody for coming out to the con, and who took the time to come by and say hello to me, and even ask for stuff from me. I was super flattered and it made me feel very special. I was pretty terrified of actually attending, but I honestly think it was for the best! I was super worn out afterward, but it's really given me a lot of confidence and momentum. I can't wait to show you all what I've been able to do. :)

Trying to decide if I should upload some of my old tumblr sketches here or not...they're a couple years old, but not TERRIBLE... hm. Any thoughts?
