Update on life...
Posted 12 years agoA friend helped us set up in a place a whole three houses down the street, still waiting on word about being able to purchase the house from him. I'm now on Celexa for my depression and it's apparently made the world a brighter place for me, before that I was not eating because of the depression. Now I'm not eating because the pill is also an appetite suppressant. Finally dropping some weight.
Housing situation
Posted 12 years agoI don't know if anyone ever reads these things, but just wanted to say I'm not certain where tailsworth and I will be living a month from now. I'm hoping to buy the house I'm currently living in if the bank will let me. To increase my chances I'm contacting a lawyer tomorrow that specializes in the realty market and hopefully that will speed things along. It'll cost $750 to hire him, so we'll be scrimping and saving for the next couple months and hoping they don't shut our phone off due to that money going to the lawyer. My mate helped me realize I'm in a bit of a depression from all this stress due to not sleeping or eating much, I just want this to be over...

Fursuits
Posted 13 years agoI've never considered owning a fursuit, but after seeing the Clockwork realistic fursuits I think I would try a partial suit. I love realism in furry artwork and these just kick ass.

* We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.
* I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.
* I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.
* I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.
* I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.
* We are the couple who had the Realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.
* I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.

Posted 15 years agoThursday nights ice storm caused a bit of havoc, put my Firebird headfirst into a guardrail. Luckily I wasn't going too fast but the car has certainly looked better. I should have just called in to work.

Kwan moved out West from Ohio, really missed not having her there. But I think she'd approve of my character I made in honor of Sherman. My character hadn't been introduced yet, and I had chosen a heavy hitter, literally. The others in the party had been fighting some brigands for several turns and had yet to deal more than 4 points of damage to any of them. When my character finally comes onto the scene, my ambush from behind fails. Even with the leaders attention on me and gaining focus, all it takes is one swing of my sword and I deal 7 points of damage, he's mortally wounded and falls. The other brigands turn and scream as they run away. In one move, my character saves the day and looks great doing it. :)

Ain't that a kick in the tail
Posted 15 years agoI learned this morning that not only am I not allowed to take a vacation during my birthday because of Easter, I'm not allowed to take my preferred week off during Anthrocon because of the 4th of July holiday. WTF? I mean c'mon people, I think my store could do without little old me during a couple of the busiest holidays of the year, right? Ah well, at least I have a vacation the previous week when Anthrocon starts. I'll just have to beg off a couple different days.
Kitty nap time
Posted 15 years agoI decided to get my roommates cat someplace to call his own, a bed! It's one of those types that has a zippered pocket you can put catnip into, and I gotta tell you he took an interest in the bed before I even added the catnip. He's sleeping curled up in it right now looking adorable, it wasn't expensive but I feel it is worth more than the cost for how much the cat loves it.
Question, I also got one of those water dish things set on the table for the cat so he wouldn't have to share a bowl with the dog, any reason why he'd refuse to drink from it? My roommate thinks it might have something to do with being near the cat litter box, but he eats from his food bowl and it's closer, instead of stealing the dogs food.

And I have no shame in admitting that the songs still make me tear up.

Hutchins who writes kickass stories and produces them in both book and audio story formats and wanted to do my part to help make others aware of his works who might like this genre. His website is http://www.jchutchins.net and you can find links to his podcast novels there, on Itunes, and http://www.podiobooks.com
I personally love his trilogy entitled 7th Son, book one has made it into print and became available just 4 days ago. If you don't like to read, you can download the free audio version and listen to it that way. I loved it so much I'm shelling out the money to purchase it in paperback.
Another of his books is trying something brand new, with the hardback purchase of the story Personal Effects: Dark Art you get artifacts such as real looking credit cards, driver license, social security card, access to voice mail to listen to the messages the character in the book hears, and real web sites created for the story. If you'd like to get an idea whether or not you'd even like this, you can listen to the online only podcast prequel titled Personal Effects: Sword of Blood.
Please help support this author by checking out the stories, it doesn't even cost you any money, just a moment of your time to listen to the podcast versions of Sword of Blood, and the 7th Son stories are also online. If you find it decent, tell your friends.
Another reason I'm writing this is because I absolutely would love to see 7th Son as a movie trilogy. If book sales for it does well enough, Warner Bros. has shown interest in putting this on the big screen.
