[Stream] Weekly Sketch/Lineart Commission Stream
Posted 11 years agoHello, everyone!
Happy Monday, and with it being Monday that can mean only one thing: It's time for another weekly Sketch/Lineart Commission Stream. Now, hopefully this time I'll be able to stay and produce a lot longer than the previous couple of shows since I've gotten my sleep schedule back to a more reasonable timeframe.
So we're going to work and we'll work until we can't stands it no more!
Also, Kiala, if you're reading this, I'd like you to pop into the stream so we can work on your sketch at that time. <3
The stream is in the usual place and Audio will be enabled: https://www.picarto.tv/live/channel.....ch=SeverusCoil

[Stream] Morning Sketch Commission Stream
Posted 11 years agoHey Everyone!
It's time to get back into the swing of things from the weekend, and that means Sketch/Lineart practice! But we're going to do something a little bit different for those of you who want to get commissions and get them done fast.
We're going to do Stream commissions for the duration of the stream. They will be taken on a first-come, first serve basis, and queue'd. We'll be doing these relatively fast: Usually takes less than one hour for a sketch, or a couple of hours for a lineart piece. (Upgrading to color later will be available, but it will have to wait until I finish my existing commissions and open for new public work.)
The work will be flat rate:
Sketches go for $25, Linearts for $50. Money must be available up-front as this is a public event.
We will be starting at approximately 10:00am CST, or 25 minutes from this posting. :P
Once the stream is concluded, we will be going back to our existing workload, so the rest of you don't need to fret none.
Oh, and finally, I will be having my headset and microphone active for the stream, in case you guys want to talk. I don't like typing all that much.
So without further adieu, the link to my picarto.tv stream: https://www.picarto.tv/live/channel.....ch=SeverusCoil

Commissions Now Open: 4 Slots Initially Available!
Posted 11 years agoGreetings all!
We are closing in on the existing line of work that I have to do, and that only means one thing! I apparently need more work to do! (Yay! Applause!) So we're opening up commissions again. I'm going to open up slots over the course of the next week until I meet my two-week workload.
So these slots have no theme. They're open, single images, up to two characters.
One Character -- Two Characters
Sketch: $25 $35
Lineart: $50 $65
Color: $100 $120
Elaborate backgrounds are an extra $35.
I'm also open to special projects such as character sheets. Just PM me with the idea and I can give a price estimate.
If interested in getting a commission, send me a PM!
I'll post a follow-up journal with the names of those who got spots. And if you don't get one this time, don't worry, more will open in a couple of days! :D

Returning -- Becoming a Full-Time Artist -- Commissions Soon
Posted 11 years agoHey Y'all, long time no speak!
It really, really sucked being away from you guys. I was trying to make it in a lifestyle that, apparently, just isn't for me. I recently quit my full-time job and have resolved to go into art production full time! There's a lot of great people here and I know you're going to help me make this dream into a reality.
For those of you with artwork commissioned, I believe I've been in touch with all of you. The outstanding commissions are getting done as fast as possible, as are the entries for Swallowtail Productions up and coming magazine. Information on that magazine can be found here: ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13725069/ ) -- I'll have some singles in there, and quite a few of my friends are putting material towards it as well!
I will be uploading the artwork that I've done over the past year every day over the next couple of weeks, some of which is pretty damn good!
Finally, we will be having new commission slots opening up before the end of the month, so get your funds and ideas in order and I'll drop a few journals taking new commissions in the near future! So keep an eye on your messages. <3
I love all of you -- let's make this year one fantastic year for furry art!

Join.me Vore/Constriction/NSFW Conference Stream, Invited!
Posted 12 years agoHere I am at FWA!
Posted 12 years agoIt's the early hours o day one and I'm reporting live from my phone
Caught a taxi cab over here from the bus station since the Marta doesn't operate this early, now I'm just relaxing in the hotel lobby near the concierge. (Updates on my twitter account: severuscoil ). Seems like No one is awake to come hang out. Looks like I'll just have to get a little work done.
Travel sucked. There was an annoying baby in the seat next to mine keeping the whole bus awake. On top of that, some dickwad stole my dinner while I was getting my ticket at the bus terminal. Really, I was looking forward to that taco salad too.
No other news yet, just kinda lost at this hotel. -SC

Behind-the-Arts Flickr Photostream!
Posted 12 years agoI do my best to keep my personal life out of my art galleries as much as possible! I know some of you out there really don't care, and that's fine. I don't care about you right back!
But for those of you who -do- care, and are a little bit more curious about the person behind the pornography, I'm going to be keeping and updating a Flickr photostream regularly with images, and insight attached to the images, with the help of my smart phone and various devices.
You can find my photostream here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/93891697@N04/
You can guaruntee there's going to be a great number of updates soon involving travel and Furry Weekend Atlanta!
Thanks, as always, for watching. -SC

Workout report: 2/19/2013
Posted 12 years agoTime start: 8:15pm
Excercises Complete:
Lateral Bench Press x 3
Inclined Fly Press x 3
Two-Armed Shrug x 4
Inclined Sit-up x 3
Overhead Lift x 4
Bicep Curl x 5
Inclined Superman x 3
Bodyweight Weaving x 2
Vertical Fly x 2
Time Complete: 9:30pm
Report: I continue to be amazed as to just how helpful the people at this gym are. Some of them are professional level bodybuilders or MMA fighters (its an MMA gym) and yet they're more than happy to give good advice to a relative novice like myself if you just ask them!
I'm not so much of a novice anymore, I've been at this for well over two months now. Starting to see some real improvement, especially in the arms and chest area. I'm trying to achieve a balance between bulking and toning that will help me burn off this excess fat without creating loose or droopy skin parts.
I've been combining the workout with better food choices. I've, regrettably, had to cut back on the bread, pastas and potatoes I love to eat. I've also cut out sodas almost completely and stick to Vitamin Water for drinks, when I'm not drinking my whey protein shakes. I also take multivitamin and green tea for dietary supplements. I feel great, I haven't felt this good since I was in high school -- but I do miss eating the good foods. =| Oh well, I'm allowed to cheat on my diet one day per week.
Except for FWA. The diet is off for FWA, and you bet I'm pigging out on all the great mediterranean food they have in downtown Atlanta.

The Slow Return of Severus Coil!
Posted 12 years agoRight!
First of all, Greetings Everyone. Thank you for all the concern and my deepest apologies for worrying everyone. Unemployment can be a bitch, I tell ya.
First, the bad news: There are still many of you who are waiting on commissions. Don't worry, noone is forgotten -- especially not
iceman and
kaelis who still have stuff owed from Anthrocon. I will get to around to everyone in due course. My current goal is to have all outstanding commissions wrapped up by March 13th, before I leave for Furry Weekend Atlanta (my first public appearance in a while.) Don't worry about sending me notes or e-mails or anything, I have all records already! If I need follow up information about commissions, I will notify you.
Second, the good news: I am financially stable now (which is sadly contributing to the slowness of getting these commissions wrapped up.) I am employed with the state in a full-time job with benefits. So, there's no need to fret about me needing money, etc. Since I'm not in dire need of money, and out of respect for outstanding commissioners I will not be taking any new orders until everyone has their commissions in hand.
Third, the personal news: Since getting the full time job I have been striving to turn everything around in my life, personally! Admittedly there's very little I can do about my outrageous college debt. But I have achieved a regular and comfortable sleep pattern, something I've long been without. I've also been regularly attending a local fitness and MMA gym for three months now. My physical condition has improved quite a bit, I can safely say that I haven't been in this good of a shape since before college. Still got a bit of a spare tire, though. D: Damn stubborn thing won't go away.
That's everything I can think of for the time being -- I thank you for all your support in these trying times. I'll have new material uploaded soon.

Adding a new option for supporting the artist!!
Posted 13 years agoHello again, viewers!
Y'know, it never fails to surprise me as to how generous the fandom is and can be at times! I've had a lot of people more than willing to support me in both tough times and good times, and I just can't find words to adequately express my thanks for that sort of spirit. And it comes in all forms!
Most supporters buy art, some provide exposure and marketing, and others have gotten me food while I'm at conventions and stuff! Its really encouraging, and its stuff like that that keeps me away from paysites. I don't want to go to the paysite model -- I want to keep my stuff open to the view to the public as much as possible. But I just won't be able to do that without your help.
Believe me, commissions are more than help enough, but not everyone wants to get those, so I'm making a new avenue of support available for those interested in supporting the furry/scalie arts!
This link has been posted up on the profile section of my FA page, as well as here! With this, interested supporters will be able to enter donations to support the artist! As much or as little as they'd like, every little bit is appreciated, and will help keep the art in the public.
Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere in the short term! This is not a make-or-break sort of deal, so noone needs to go into a panic. =3 This is just an announcement that the donation option is now available and how to access it!
I'll give an advanced thank-you to all people considering funding creative minds and experienced pens, then I must get back to projects that need drawing!

Public Commission Slots Open for August! [8]
Posted 13 years agoSo I've got this new idea!
Its been a long time since I've actually announced and opened public commissions, and I know there's been a lot of interest for it judging by some of the notes I've been getting, so what I've decided to do is open up a set number of public commission slots per month that are first-come, first-serve for anyone who wants em! They'll be limited in number, set parameters, and will require payment up front. But here, I'll lay out the details more plainly!
Public Commissions for August!
I'll be accepting up to 8 public slots. The first 8 interested commissioners to have their payments confirmed by myself will be slotted in to a list I'll put on my FA page.
40-day Guarantee! You are guaranteed to have your product finished by 30-days after your payment clears with my Paypal account, or your money back!
Commissions may contain up to 2 characters. Simple background included.
Commission includes an approval sketch to make sure I get things right!
Commissions can be either public or private.
Commissions include a hi-res version of the finished image, a lo-res version that's great for posting on galleries, signed for authenticity!
Commission slots are $100 per! If you would like one, either note me on FA or e-mail me at severuscoil[at]gmail.com
Paypal is accepted at paypal account severuscoil[at]gmail.com
I will post another journal as soon as commission slots fill up for August! Best of luck to everyone!

Well, don't worry too hard -- its nothing major. Just a small hand injury! Specfically the thumb.
Its been recovering for a little bit now, and we should be full-steam ahead and back into full production in a day or two!

Behold! The Anthrocon Meme Questionaire!!
Posted 13 years agoHow do you want to be addressed?
I like to be addressed by my full title: Duke Severus Thaddius Coil, Arch-Treasurer and former Prince-Elector of the Holy Roman Empire; the 2nd. Oh, and silver trumpets must be playing when you address me as such. Failing that, Severus works. Or Sev, if three syllables is hard. Not to be confused with Sev the Ferret.
Gender?
As usual, I'll be dressing up as a male this year.
Age?
One of the younger artists of the community, I'll be hitting the age of 25 this year.
What do you look like?
Stocky, healthy frame with auburn hair and pale complexion. Also usually seen in all-black, wearing a black beret with a single large pin on it, and a single glove on the right hand.
Where/how can I find you?
I'm staying at the doubletree, but don't go looking for me there. I have spots reserved in the Artist Alley on Saturday and Sunday. Check the table chart for exact location. After hours, if I'm not eating or drinking, I'm sitting in the Zoo with my laptop, pens and paper. I'll have a sign, can't miss it.
How are you getting there?
Bus trip to New Orleans, then plane from New Orleans to Pittsburgh. I'll be flying my blue-cat friend
Kaelis
What hotel are you staying at?
Doubletree! I was lucky to get the rooming arrangements that I did.
Who will you be rooming with?
Razgriz! Fellow's great to be providing me with some sleeping space at such short notice.
Which days will you be attending?
I'll be arriving early Wednesday afternoon, sometime around 2-2:30 I suppose! Will be there through Monday, according to current plans.
Do you do requests?
I never have time for requests at Anthrocon. Maybe at smaller conventions, but this one is just faaaar too hectic.
Do you do trades?
I do, but since I don't have a whole lot of time for trades, I'm a little picky with who I do trades with! I'm primarily game for trades with excellent reptile and vore artists!
Do you do commissions?
You bet your ass. I'll be doing both traditional and digital media while at the convention. The Artist Alley isn't powered, so I can only work on traditional media while at the table. Otherwise, I'll have my tablet and laptop out. Table prices can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8096609/
Will you have prints, CDs, or merchandise?
Not much in the way of merchandise. I'll have some original traditional work for sale, but a lot of work will be done on-site.
Will you have Art in the Art Show?
Not this year! Maybe next year.
Who will you be with?
God. Damn near everyone. There's a lot of people to see, and only six days to see them in.
What is your main purpose for attending?
Work-vacation! Its like work, but its a lot more fun. I'm a professional, and I've got a business to run here, but there's no point in working if you don't have time for play!
Can I talk to you?
Of course! Just don't be offended if I don't look at you all the time. I have to carry on conversations while working on artwork, you understand. And I'm bound to be in a hurry from time to time! Again, no disrespect, but its Anthrocon! Its busy.
Can I take pictures with you?
As long as you make me look good. If they're naked photos, however, i'll need to approve them first.
Can I touch/hug/cuddle you?
Hugs and handshakes are fine. Not a whole lot of opportunities for cuddling, and that sort of contact is probably something you be careful with! I'm don't freak out about that kind of contact, but you don't want to come across as awkward!
Can I hang out with you?
If you wanna hang out while I work on drawings, that's fine! Its normally best if you do that while I'm in the Zoo. If I'm not there, it means I'm either in the Alley, or I'm hanging out with specific people.
Do you go to parties?
I don't actively look for parties. But if an awesome person invites me to an awesome person party, I'll be hard-pressed to decline that invite.
Do you fursuit/costume?
Not yet. Just wait!
What is the best way to reach you?
I get e-mail notifications on my phone, Twitter too. So just send me an e-mail at severuscoil[at]gmail.com or a message on Twitter, user: severuscoil -- that'll get my attention!
Anything else?
No creeping and No drama. I'm here for laughs, conversation, sales, and a damn good time. Stick with those four things, and we'll get along just fine.

Anthrocon Artist Alley Lottery Results!
Posted 13 years agoFor those of you who haven't seen it, the official drawing results are posted http://www.anthrocon.org/node/8024/.....ottery-results there!
As for me, according to the list I have won Alley spots for Saturday and Sunday. So it appears on Friday, any interested persons can find me in my usual spot in The Zoo (which is anywhere I can plug my laptop into.) I'll still be taking online commissions at that time, most likely, unless I have work overhanging from previous days.

Woot! I actually pre-registered for a convention!
Posted 13 years agoFor the first time in my life! I'm so proud of myself.
Granted, if I wanted an Artist Alley spot, I had no choice but to pre-register... but I'll take the base hits any way I can get them! That's all con (mandatory) con preparations made. Flight, hotel, registration.
Also, my badge number is 3000+... that's a lot of attendees already signed up. o.o

Commission Stream! Instant Art! Day 2!
Posted 13 years agoSince yesterday went so well, we're going to continue with the commission stream today!
Allo crowd!
In a break from the usual lineup of projects to be worked on, I sure feel like working on improving the appearance of my linework! This calls for a whole lot of linework drawings!
Its very simple how this works. Its first-come, first-serve. $25 up front when your turn comes up, up to two characters done in lineart. You can watch it as its being done, or come back in an hour or so when it'll be close to finished. Please have visual or written references ready at the get go so we don't have too much waiting. Too much waiting and I'll move on to the next person in line. Payment needs to be made payable to Paypal account severuscoil[at]gmail.com
Everyone is of course welcome to watch, there's no obligation to participate, but everyone is welcome to participate. Connect to https://join.me/216-865-485 to watch/participate.
See you all there! Will be there all night. Maybe tomorrow too if it goes well. ^^ -SC
