Song of the Day - Day 3
Posted 14 years agoVeridis Quo, by Daft Punk, from the album Discovery
Not much to say on this one either, just because I'm not entirely sure what makes this song so awesome, it's just awesome. Not as upbeat and driving as a lot of Daft Punk songs, but it's a bit...deeper, I guess you could say, and it's catchy as hell.
The music video is from Interstella 5555, which is, for those of you who have not seen it, basically an anime music video for the entire Discovery album. It's a pretty good watch if you like Daft Punk and anime (which I'm relatively sure that most furries do).

Song of the Day - Day 2
Posted 14 years agoLiberi Fatali, composed by Nobuo Uematsu and Arranged by Shiro Hamaguchi, from the Final Fantasy VIII Original Soundtrack
Any fan of the Final Fantasy series will instantly recognize this classic. Definitely one of my favourite pieces from the FFVIII soundtrack. As the song that accompanies the opening movie to the game, it did an excellent job of setting a very epic tone and gearing up the player to get ready to jump into the game. Whether the game itself lived up to that is a matter of personal opinion, but that's neither here nor there.
Anywho, I don't really feel much like talking about the song itself today, so I'm gonna let it speak for itself.

Song of the Day - Day 1
Posted 14 years agoSo, for the next forty days, I'm going to be doing a song of the day, selected from my music library. The process of selection is relatively simple, I'm just gonna set it to shuffle, hit play, and keep skipping through until I find a song that really jives me for whatever reason.
Why am I doing this? I felt like it.
Anyway, the song may be something you've never heard before or have heard a thousand times. If it gives me a particularly good feeling at whatever time of day I decide to post it on whatever day it is, that's the only real criteria.
Each day, I will post the name of the song, the artist, the album, and either embed a youtube video or post a link to where it can be listened to. Whether you chose to listen or not is entirely up to you. After the link, I'll post a little bit about the song. It may be a few sentences, it may be an entire paragraph. Comments are encouraged.
So, without further ado, todays is:
Solanin, by Asian Kung-Fu Generation, from the album Magic Disk
One of my favourite things about AKFG is their sometimes astounding ability to make a very deep, emotionally engaging, sometimes even touching song. What's more amazing is that they don't rely on lyrics to do it (hell, the majority of the time, I have no idea what the lyrics even mean unless I look up translations). Their ability to convey emotion with their music is what draws me to them, and Solanin is certainly no exception. While it may not be their most original song, it can certainly tug at your heartstrings, even if you don't quite know why.
The video is of little consequence without the lyrics, and unfortunately, I couldn't find a subtitled version of the video. Even still, it's not quite as good as some of their other videos, though it still might be worth looking up a translation for the song to keep in mind as you watch it, if you so desire (but you're not losing out on too much if you don't feel like it).

Posted 14 years agoFor the very small portion of you who I gave my address at some point and have it on records, as of Friday, it will have changed. Just thought you might want to take note of that fact. If you would like to keep records of my address current, you are free to ask me for my new one. That said, I keep a pretty good handle on people who have or I think should have my address, and it's not exactly a large list. If you don't belong on the list, you will not get my new address, simple as that. I will not be shy about letting you know if you are not on the list should you ask me and you are not. It may sound callous, but I don't really like to hand out my address over the internet, especially since it's not strictly my address and mine alone.
To everyone else, um........how are you guys doin'?

Oh god, the nostalgia
Posted 14 years agoSo I'm preparing to move out of Vicksburg for good. Most of my stuff is already packed up, but today I packed a dusty old bookshelf that I hardly ever touch.
And I tell you guys, it was like a trip down memory lane.
Old photos I took between the ages of 7 and 12, birthday cards from the last birthday party I ever had, my old full-colour Sonic comics that were published by Archie, several old Gamepros (boasting previews of Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando, Jak 2, the first Call of Duty, Final Fantasy X-2, and a first look at the PSP prototype before it was even named), tons of my old Children's books I'd forgotten about, one of the Cheat Codes books from the 90's, guidebooks for original Gameboy games, tons of letters from relatives, instruction booklets for toys and playsets I had forgotten existed, promotional booster packs from trading card games that never lasted more than a year, happy meal toys from terrible animated movies that no one remembers, I could go on and on.
I dunno if this is important, but it seemed pretty significant to me.

Truth thing
Posted 14 years agoNot gonna bother posting the rules, because I'm deliberately defying the majority of them. In any case, gotta post 10 truths about yourself, and I was tagged by this guy ->
1. Some video games have made serious impacts on my life in the way that a really good film or book can. I hate it when people imply that video games aren't as legitimate a media or art form as movies or books, because it's entirely likely that I have more emotional ties to video games than I do either of those (and I've watched a ton of movies and read even more books).
2. I can be such a doormat sometimes. It's pretty easy for other people to get me to do what they want me to, I'm way too trusting for my own good, and often I won't confront someone over the way they've been acting or treating me because I don't want them to feel like I'm pushing them, I don't want to be a burden, or I don't want to seem like I'm being unreasonable (even if I'm being completely reasonable). I've been used by several people for their own ends on multiple occasions, and been pretty badly hurt as a result. I'm working on it though, and I like to think I'm getting better.
3. I LOVE conventions. They're always so much fun. Even if I don't go to much programming, I love hanging around with large groups of friends, meeting cool new people, etc. I love looking at all the great cosplays or fursuits or what have you, and I love cosplaying myself (can't wait until I can get a fursuit). Part of the reason I've been staffing so many conventions lately is so I can go to more (since staff typically attend conventions for free and often have other expenses paid as well). That said, staffing/volunteering a convention can be just as much fun as attending.
4. Many of you might already know this, but I have sort of a conditioned panicked response to thunder and lightning. It stems from an irrational fear that developed when I was quite a bit younger. I'm not actively afraid of either anymore, but I used to be so much that any time I hear the rumble or see the flash, I get really shaky and panicky. It's kind of embarrassing.
5. My body is...weird. I've got a lot of problems (iron-deficiency anemia, narcolepsy, lack of appendix, to name a few), but a lot of them seem to even out. I'm dyslexic, but ambidextrous. I'm a little deaf, but I've got 20-15 vision. As narcissistic as it is to say, every so often I fascinate myself. In any case, I've been pretty lucky so far not to have anything life-threatening or develop any seriously detrimental ongoing conditions (though I came close with all those ulcers last year X3), and I'm very thankful for that.
6. I'm really picky about the art I save to my computer. I'm a bit more cavalier about favouriting things over here or on other art sites, but I have to really like something for it to make it to my hard drive.
7. I pretty much live to make other people happy. It's what I thrive on. I love being able to help people whenever I can, and if I can't, I often feel helpless and sometimes even guilty. I tend to worry way too much about other people, and it does cause me a bit of stress, but one of the few things I really like about myself is how caring I can be.
8. I'm all about understanding. It's one of the reasons I'm such a trivia junkie. I love understanding how certain things work, or what lead certain things to happen, or why people act the way they act. For that reason, I absolutely hate when I'm making a point and it doesn't seem like the person(s) I'm making it to don't completely get what I'm saying, and often in that situation I'll continue to argue the point until I think they do, which I know can get really aggravating sometimes. Conversely though, I do my best to understand someone else's point of view when they have a point to make. If I get into a quarrel with someone that goes unresolved, I'll usually try to find someone on the outside to talk to about it, not because I'm trying to get them on my side, but to seek some outside perspective and better understand why the other person acted the way they did.
9. I don't think I'm all that great a person, but at the very least, I'm comfortable with the way I am. I think at the very least, everyone should be comfortable with who they are. You don't have to like everything about you, on the contrary, I think human beings should be constantly striving to improve themselves. Still, if you can be comfortable with yourself, it can do amazing things for your confidence.
10. My music tastes are pretty varied, and when it comes to listening, I'm pretty easy to please. I can listen to a good deal of music and enjoy it, though there is a difference between the music I can listen to, the music I passively like, and the music that I actually keep in my library. Many of you probably know my favourite band is Coldplay. The reason for that is because not only are their songs awesome, but they have so much meaning to me. As amazingly cheesy as this sounds, I believe Coldplay writes the music that my soul would make if it could.

Posted 14 years agoGonna go ahead and put pictures at the top so that you can see those before I bore ya with details.
I didn't take a whole lot of pictures this year, and I took 'em with my phone, so I haven't loaded them on to my computer yet. In any case, the pictures this year are random ones of me that some of my friends have either posted or found perusing through other people's galleries.
So, we've got a couple of me at the Variety Show:

Anywho, roomed with
Nightflurry,
zorrofeta, and
anubisfur.
So, a rundown of things I did:
-helped
nightflurry run the con store
-commissioned some badges, one of which I posted, another of which just got done and I'm about to post
-bought a tail and a Kyell Gold novel
-met up with old friends and met new friends
-went to panels, most notable of which was the Whose Line panel, which was just as fun as last year's
-danced A LOT (there was a dance every night, all of which I went to at some point, except Thursday's)
-participated in the Variety show, which was fun
-partied a bit, especially Sunday night
-had a TON of fun! =D
There was probably more, but that's off the top of my head.
Met a lot of really cool new people, too many to really list them here. You guys know who you are (and you're awesome).
Also, for added fun, go to 10:00 in this video:

Posted 14 years agoYou know how I tend to complain about my job a lot?
Posted 14 years agoWell, now that's taken care of, because I don't have a job anymore.
Basically, what happened is this:
The restaurant got a new manager to replace an old one a few weeks ago. Said manager took over the duty of scheduling from another manager who started working less hours. Problem was, she had a bad habit of putting the schedules up later. This week, it got ridiculous. The schedules for the next week are supposed to be up Friday at the latest. When my shift ended just this last Saturday at around 6, the new schedule for this week still wasn't up. I was out of town Sunday, but I still called in to see if the schedule was up in the afternoon. Still nothing. Finally, when I called again at about 9:30 that night, it was up. The person I got told me I had no shifts until tomorrow (Wednesday). Well, imagine my surprise when I come in today after running a few errands to check the schedule in it's entirety so I could plan my weekend, and find out my manager needs to talk to me. Turns out, I was scheduled for today, not Wednesday. Of course I didn't come in when I was scheduled, I had been told I wasn't working until tomorrow.
So I explain to my manager what happened. Did I expect to get some sort of penalty or reprimand? Yes. What I didn't expect was for him to just outright let me go. Not even taking into account that this whole situation was hardly my fault, but it was the first time I'd ever screwed up since I started work there. Un-fucking-believable. The good news is, I'm not getting fired, so there's no blemish on my employment record. Basically what's gonna happen is I just won't get scheduled until eventually I just fade out of the system. Lovely.
It's not like I was depending on this job to survive, but I was depending on it for a lot of things. If I had known I was gonna get let go just like that after one screw up that wasn't even my fault, I would've been spending a lot less money. I mean, it's not like I've been tossing money around like there's no tomorrow, but I've definitely done some extraneous spending the past couple months because I planned on having a job, and I figured if something like this was coming, I at least would've seen it coming and could've planned accordingly.
So yeah, now my income is gone. Again. Fantastic.

BEWARE: DO NOT commission this person!
Posted 14 years ago On Nov. 30th, I contacted
Jirashi about a potential commission and asking if he was open. He said he was, and asked about details. After giving him the details, he told me that he'd work on a rough sketch of the whole thing for our approval (the commission was actually a buddy's for the two of us) when he got the chance, and would continue pending approval. I agreed. About four or five days later, he told me that his school's exams were consuming all of his time and that he wouldn't be able to work on anything after Dec. 15th. After checking with my buddy, we decided we were okay with waiting. The 15th passed, and a few days after it I asked about progress. He told me he'd managed to start something, but nothing near worth showing yet. The next few weeks after that it was the same deal every time I asked, absolutely 0 progress. After about the first week in January, he started avoiding me altogether. I contacted him on AIM, Skype, Steam, he has not said a single word in response since the 14th of January (and the week previous, he had only said one or two things to me at all). I sent him a note on FA, but he didn't even bother to read it. A little over a week ago, I was fed up with him avoiding me. I sent him an IM/message on every means of contact I had with him telling him that he had one week to just contact me, not even show any progress on the image, but just discuss it with me and stop avoiding me, or I would post my story here and to the Artists_Beware LJ community (http://community.livejournal.com/artists_beware/), as well as spread the word to those I know not to do business with him. I frequently reminded him through the week, but no dice. Sometime in the last week, he finally got around to reading that note on FA, but he had not when I delivered the Ultimatum a week ago.
There's a couple things I would like to note here. The first is that, previous to my ultimatum, I have been very patient with the guy. I didn't constantly nag him about progress, I didn't harass him on his FA profile (I posted one comment referencing the image, but it was in jest), and I wasn't even asking that much. In my ultimatum, I didn't even ask to see progress on the picture, I just wanted him to stop avoiding me and actually talk to me about the image. The second thing I'd like to note is that I know for a fact that the guy had plenty of opportunities to make progress on the image. He wasted away his entire break following his exams playing WoW (of which he admitted to), and since the 15th of December, he's taken and completed several badge commissions and streamed himself starting and completing another piece of art on WatchTail.
I would avoid
unless you like having the artist you're commissioning showing you absolutely no respect and pulling stunts like this. This is no way to treat anyone, let alone a customer. I mean, it's one thing to agree to do something and then decide not to do it, but the very least he could've done is say "hey, changed my mind, not gonna do it, kthxbai." He couldn't even do that much. That's just a shitty way to treat someone.

That's just a shitty way to treat someone.Am I the only one

Enough with the Zodiac journals, because...
Posted 15 years agothe Zodiac change only affects those born after 2009. None of your signs have changed, unless you're one year old or less, in which case the fact that you're reading this is absolutely astounding and you're some kind of genius.

So, it seems FFXIII-2 is happening
Posted 15 years agoA trailer from Square Enix intending to announce Final Fantasy XIII-2 was leaked not too long ago. It also seems that this game could be out in North America and Europe as early as this winter (that's currently the scheduled release time).
My initial reaction was...distaste. I loved the hell out of FFXIII, but I'm naturally wary of any FF game that ends in "-2." If you've known me for more then a few days, you likely know that the other Final Fantasy game that ends in "-2" does not rank uh...very highly with me...to put it lightly. To put it more accurately, I think FFX-2 was a travesty, a crime against the video game market that never should have happened (and I wish I could just block it from my memory entirely). That's just my opinion, mind you, but I know I'm not the only one who thinks so. It's not just X-2 that makes me so apprehensive of FFXIII-2. Let's take a look at sequels in FF history, shall we?
Oh, and to clarify, I mean in-universe sequels. For the sake of this particular point, FFIII wouldn't be considered a sequel to FFII and so on.
Let's start with the Final Fantasy VII sequels. I want to start with those because Final Fantasy VII was missing something that almost every other game in the series had, and that's any sense of an epilogue. Almost every FF game, following the defeat of the final boss, has some kind of glimpse of the world following whatever catastrophe befell or almost befell it and returning to some kind of peace. It also usually gives an idea of what the characters go off to do now that they've saved the world. Hell, even FFI had it, though it was just in the text preceding the credits. Most FF games give you a sense of closure before the credits roll, a sense that the story this world had to tell is now finished. VII lacked this entirely. Hell, the only hint at what becomes of the world when everything is said and done is a very brief "500 years later" cutscene following the credits, and all it did was show that

one of the characters survived, and the ruins of the city that had been destroyed in the final cutscene.
END SPOILERS!
The ending was ridiculously open-ended, to the point that a lot of gamers were dissatisfied with the ending. This gave FFVII a leg up when it came to sequels. The first sequel, Advent Children (which is actually a movie, not a game), had a lot of room to work with, and didn't have to shoehorn in some second catastrophe to the original plot or come up with some entirely new plausible threat for the characters to deal with. It returned to the world of the game to give us that glimpse of the world and the characters following the events of the game that the game itself did not. Depending on who you talk to, it worked very well. Hell, it's one of my favourite movies. It wasn't perfect, no, but at least to me, it felt like a very reasonable follow-up to the original game and didn't feel forced. Then we have Dirge of Cerberus, the second sequel and first video game sequel to FFVII. It was...enh. It had some fun gameplay, though it kinda lacked variety and got a little old towards the end of the game. It was kinda cool to see some of the previously unexplored backstories of a few of the characters from the original game, but beyond that, the plot was kind of...well...it had an interesting start, but it ended up going off in a direction that just makes me shake my head and sigh.
Over on Wiiware, we have Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. While not nearly as good as Final Fantasy IV, and not really as good as any core FF installment, it was still fun to play and had an okay plot. While I wish they would've done a bit better, it definitely could've been worse. Final Fantasy IV's ending had the normal closure that most FF games had, but The After Years went around this by setting the game 17 years after the end of the original, not following closely behind it. This gave the development team a bit more to work with, as it left a rather large period of time in between the two games for some new threat to arise.
Then we have...Final Fantasy X-2...
I'll try not to rant too much here, but X-2, really too an axe the entirety of the X continuity for me. The characters were kind of bland, one of the returning characters seemed to be a different person entirely, the plot seemed very forced and felt like it had been written by a 13-year-old fanfiction writer (and don't get me started on the endings), the soundtrack was a major departure from anything else in series, and not in a good way, etc. etc. To me, it's only really good feature was the battle system, but the fact that the female popstar main characters seem to have all their power in their outfits kinda ruined that a little for me. Though to be fair, that is a bit of an oversimplification. I think most of X-2's problems stemmed from the fact that it kinda ripped open the closure that X's ending gave us. X didn't really have an open enough ending to leave for a sequel that follows so closely to the ending of the original.
Another thing I was initially worried about was how fast the game is getting pushed out (especially since it seemed like it was causing further delay of games like Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which have been in development for FAR too long), but reports have said that XIII-2 is being mostly made of unused material that was cut from XIII, so they're not really spending a lot of resources on it's development.
So I guess, to sum it up, my main concern lies with the fact that at the end of FXIII, it felt over, done. It seems like a sequel just won't fit in well with the continuity. Not to mention the plot of FFXIII was largely character-driven, and it seems like they're cutting this sequel down to mostly just Lightning. Lightning is cool and all, but I don't really think she can carry a game on her own.
I seemed to do a pretty good job of putting this to text, so why the hell can't I write a decent Alan Wake review? ARGH! *rages*

My poor car
Posted 15 years agoSo, while my car was parked overnight, someone hit it near the front driver's-side wheel, left a pretty sizable dent, and drove off without leaving any info. Super! The good news is insurance is gonna cover all of it, and I was able to get it into the body shop today. They're gonna send the estimate to the insurance agency and order the parts. Unfortunately, the guy at the body shop seems to think the damage runs a little deeper then what I could see on the surface, so I'll be without a car for four days. Double Super!
I've only been involved in three "accidents," all three have been hit-and-run, and two of which have happened when I was parked and out of the car.

7 More Awesome Songs You've Probably Never Heard
Posted 15 years agoI'll get to my Alan Wake review soon, but every time I've tried to write it, it comes out an incoherent mess. That's mostly because every time I try to write it, it's like, 4AM, but that's neither here nor there.
Anywho, another one of these!
Flimbo's Quest - Instant Remedy
Instant Remedy is a Swedish musician who does remixes of games for the Commodore 64. Information on him is difficult to track down, and his songs are even more difficult to track down, but I managed to get a hold of his discography not too long ago. The reason I was interested in him to begin with is because someone had made an gif on FA with this very song as background music, and I loved it so much that I just had to find it and add it to my music library. I'm really glad I found his full discography, because all his remixes are great, but I adore this song. It is, quite possibly, the happiest-sounding song I have ever heard. It's not really complex, but by god is it infectious.
Beethoven Virus - BanYa
I discovered this catchy remix as a beatmap on Osu! It's a nice little blend of a dark classical sound with some lighter trance, and is just very entertaining to listen to.
Motteke! Sailor Fuku REDALiCE Remix - REDALiCE
Another song I discovered from playing Osu! The original song comes from an anime called Lucky Star, a fun and silly little anime that has become immensely popular in the last few years. This is an awesome dance remix of said song, which manage to capture all the fun and random silliness of the original song and adding it's own flavour of electronic dance to the mix.
Shout - De Novo Dahl
A simple, yet fun little song about not bottling things up and going out and doing things, taking risks, and following your dreams. Originally saw this band at Lollapalooza in '08.
We Walk - The Ting Tings
The Ting Tings never fail to produce simple, yet fun rhythm-driven tunes with sometimes surprisingly complex lyrics. Though the band got some popularity with their singles, few people have heard the other song on their albums, which are pretty much just as awesome as their singles. While this eclectic indie dance music isn't for everyone, it's definitely for some, and it's certainly for me.
Pursuit ~ Cornered - Magical Trick Society
Magical Trick Society is a group of Japanese musicians who produce albums (focused on a single game or series) of video game music remixes. Cadenza was an album of remixes from the first Phoenix Wright game. Probably my favourite track from the album is their version of Pursuit ~ Cornered. Like I've said about every other remix in this installment, it captures the feel of the original while adding it's own unique flavour, yadda yadda. Just listen to it.
G/S/C Final Battle - Fairuzon
An even harder song to track down, but so worth ah. Ah, good ol' Nintendocore. A really excellent metal-ish rendition of the final battle theme from Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal.

Posted 15 years agoTo Ohayocon! If any of you guys are gonna be there, lemme know! I'll be there all weekend.
Oh, and I finished Alan Wake last night. Honestly, I wasn't a fan. I'll give you guys a more detailed review later. All I'll say is I honestly have no clue why it got such amazing reviews from just about everyone, but I never trust game critics anyway.

2010 in reflection
Posted 15 years agoSo as I'm waiting for my friends to arrive in the last couple hours of the year, I'm just kinda looking back at 2010 as a whole. It definitely wasn't my best year, I don't think it was my worst (though it might come kinda close to what was the worst), but it certainly was one of my most eventful. Few of my years have gone from up to down and back so rapidly, and in so many different ways.
I dun' wanna bog you guys down with my boring life stuff too much. Lots of things happened in 2010, some of them good, a lot of them not so good, but all of them leading up to where I am now. I won't lie to you by saying that I'm 100% okay with some of the things that have happened over the past 365 days, but I will say that, at the very least, I'm comfortable with where I am now. Some very awesome people have entered my life, some people I used to think were awesome have face-heel turned and made their exit, a few seem to be hovering in the doorway, unsure of where they're going to go, and some keep trying to barge in on doors I locked behind them. The one that really scares me, though, is those that appear to be just drifting away, because those are the ones I'm trying so desperately to hold on to. It's never fun if people want to go of their own accord, but at least it means that I've crossed their minds. Those who are drifting away seem to be doing so because I just don't cross their minds anymore. I don't have a place in their lives or register importance to them anymore. I think that hurts way more then someone just deciding to walk out.
But enough of this horribly depressing metaphor involving doors, I would like to say that despite how badly December started out, the year seems to be ending on a very positive note, which is a nice change of pace. I remember back in January when I was convinced that this was going to be my year (being the year of the tiger, and all). And while it may not have been my year after all, I can at least say that I made do with what it gave me.
As far as resolutions go, I've never really been one for them. Most resolutions people make are to improve something about themselves or for something to happen to them in the following year. Well, for one, I don't think self-improvement should be relegated to one solitary date each year (especially when they'll be forgotten by the time two weeks have gone by), and for two, anyone with any kind of life experience would tell you that you can't expect anything out of life. If I have to make at least one resolution, I'm just going to do my very best to stay alive to see 2012.
I won't be staying up too late after midnight, I've got something very important to do tomorrow that I'm very excited about. Anyway, to those on this side of the world and further west, hope you enjoy the last few hours you have left of 2010. To the rest of you, hope you're enjoying your first few hours of 2011

Unpleasantness bump
Posted 15 years agoJust want you guys to know that I'm done with all that business. I think I've said what needs to be said, done all I can do, nothing else to do but let things turn out how they turn out, and I'll adjust myself accordingly. There's a dozen or so other things I could say, but I'm just gonna leave it and be done with it, because as so many people have pointed out to me, dwelling on it is just going to cause me stress and grief that I don't need. So, I'm done! What happens now is out of my hands in that department. I'm instead going to focus on positive things that are more worthy of my attention.
I would like to apologize to those of you who were harassed in my previous two journals. As I said, it was never my intention to involve people, and even less so to cause you any trouble.
I appreciate those of you that did give me input when I asked for it, and thank you for offering your perspective and advice. It does mean a lot.
So! On to better things! My dad got me the Gilmore Girls Complete Series DVD set, and it's awesome! Gilmore Girls is one of my favourite shows, in case you didn't know. It's one of my guilty pleasures. I'm perfectly aware how gay that sounds =P
But really, it's not that girly of a show. And hey, anyone I've ever showed it to has liked it. Even my dad started watching it with me, and he seems to like it a lot. We're gonna watch the whole series together in order.
That's another good thing, tensions between my dad (that kinda hit another peak back during Thanksgiving) have started to relax, and we're getting back to that really close relationship that I've almost always had with him, and that I really treasure.
I've also been getting to spend a lot more time with friends, which has been really awesome ^^
Speaking of which, I'm doing much better now. My mood has improved greatly, and I'm getting back to being my more pleasant self more often.
My troubles are far from over (when are they ever?), but things do seem to be looking up, which is really nice when not too long ago, I was so sure that things were never going to get better. I'll admit, I was bein' kinda ridiculous, and I'm sorry for all the worry I caused people. It's really nice to know that people care about you though, and you guys have no idea how much that means to me.
Oh yeah! And I pre-registered for Ohayocon! If any of you guys are gonna be there, lemme know! It'd be cool to meet up with some of ya ^^
I also gotta pre-reg for FCN soon, because I'm definitely gonna be there too! It was way too much fun last year for me to pass up this year.
Have any of you guys been keeping up with the sales on Steam? I've bought so many games lately because of how many great deals there are out there. I've probably spent more money than I should of, but some of those were gifts, so back off me X3
Anything else? Hmmmm...what are some things you guys have in your lives that you consider to be guilty pleasures?

Have any of you guys been keeping up with the sales on Steam? I've bought so many games lately because of how many great deals there are out there. I've probably spent more money than I should of, but some of those were gifts, so back off me X3
Anything else? Hmmmm...what are some things you guys have in your lives that you consider to be guilty pleasures?
a nice Christmas surprise
Posted 15 years agoSo, for all my complaining about having to work until close tonight, it seems everyone neglected to tell me until I went in that tonight we closed early. 7PM instead of the usual 2AM. Not only that, but my awesome manager decided, even though I was scheduled to work until close, to cut me an hour and a half early.
So yeah, that's nice. Now I'm off to have Chinese with my dad (it's a tradition).
