The Cat!
Posted 18 years agoWell, I had to take my cat into the vet today. Needless to say, she wasn't too happy about that. Big thing: she's an outdoor cat, which means sharp claws, and a fear of being indoors. That doesn't bode well for vet visits.
She's very good at sounding absolutely pathetic when she needs to. The whole drive there, I was treated with the saddest sounding meows I've ever heard.
The checkup itself was the sort of thing where you feel terrible, but at the same time, you find yourself trying not to laugh. It was almost like a cartoon, where she had her claws holding the edge of the table trying to get away. Feel bad for her, but she was kinda funny. On the way out, a lab walked by and wanted to say hello to her. She was already cranky, so it didn't take much for claws to fly in its direction. She was in kennel so she couldn't reach, but you could tell that would've hurt. I notice dogs seem to love vet visits much more than cats.
Anyway, she usually hides from us for about a week after these things. Problem is, being an outdoor cat, she gets in fights. Apparently has an infection from that, so I have to somehow get her in Thursday and Saturday so they can give her shots to treat it. She's going to hate me after that. Kinda sucks really. I wish there was a way of letting her know she was going for her own good. She might not trust me after this.
When I got home, she sorta walked around the yard, then hid under my sister's car (see below). She looks really sore, so I hope the other cats don't bother her. Now that they shaved the fur off, you can see on her back where she got clawed. Poor thing, hope she feels better soon.

Smile
Posted 18 years agoI admit, I am a big Beach Boys fan. I've been listening to some of the bootlegs of Smile, which was their legendary unreleased album (recorded in 1966-67). Brian Wilson rerecorded it in 2004 and did a good job of it, but there's something to be said about the originals.
What's crazy is this album is very different from what the Beach Boys were known for. I'll give you some highlights.
Heroes and Villains- I believe this was eventually released on Smiley Smile, which was the album that replaced Smile. I don't have it, so I don't know how different it sounded. Anyway, I (maybe somewhat pretentiously) think of this one as sorta like Brian Wilson's playground.

Do You Like Worms? (Roll Plymouth Rock)- I love this song. It starts out sounding like a Beach Boys song, but somethings not quite right. Suddenly it just gets really dark. The way voices are used as instruments in this is really great. I also really like the way this turned out in the 2004 rerecording.

Surf's Up- One of the most beautiful pop songs I've ever heard in my life. This was released on a later album (Surf's Up), but it was originally supposed to be on Smile

Fire (Mrs. Oleary's Cow)- Brian Wilson was basically on acid the whole time he did this album, and this track kinda proves it. Still, it's amazing. Fire is exactly what comes to mind when you hear it.

Good Vibrations- the version you hear today wasn't the original. Not sure if this version was going to be the one on Smile or not, but here it is.

I'd recommend picking up the rerelease. Sure, the only original Beach Boy is Brian Wilson, and his voice can't do what it once could due to drug abuse, but he arguably was The Beach Boys. I'd also recommend reading about the band. Their history is very tragic, but interesting-especially considering their happy go lucky public image.

Running-is it for you?
Posted 18 years agoEver since I've gotten out of school, I've been going for a run every morning. It's not a diet thing as I'm actually a little underweight since I didn't have time to eat much this year. I felt like I needed to use my muscles a little more than I had been. Anyway, I forgot to do my laundry, so I didn't have any running pants, and it was already 10:00 and getting hot. North Carolina is freakin' Dagoba where humidity is concerned, so 90 degrees sucks that much more. I figured rather than dealing with it, I'd just skip a day.
Well, lemme tell you, running has done more than just physically improved me. Today I've been lazy. I don't really have as much motivation and work is a little more like work. Today I just played KOTOR 2. I usually only play about an hour at time now, but I played about 5.
Kids, routines are good. Sure, running takes about an hour out of my day, but look where I am today. I guess it's because running gave me a good jump start in the morning. I think the adrenaline and all that helps too.
I'm gonna try to get some work done. I finally feel "awake" enough to do something, so hopefully it'll bear fruit.

Little issue

Like it or not, it's a serious issue. I'd encourage you to read it and tell others.

Robot Parade!
Posted 18 years agoOk, I've got enough requests for a little while now. I'll say when I'm ready for more. In the mean time, remember folks, yield for pedestrians. And if someone ever asks to speak to your mother and she's not home, make up a story, like she's in the shower, or she's hiding in the closet on account of the monster that patrols your home. That is all. Keep your teeth clean. Sgolem, out.
Slow in the head
Posted 18 years agoHello!
Just a heads up, I'm still working on some stuff right now. Progress has been slowed to the fact that I decided to take advantage of having nothing to do this week, and started reading Harry Potter. I'm a VERY slow reader. As in, I make about 100 pages in about 8 hours. So that's where I've been.
Don't fret, however. I'm almost halfway done!
I'm working on a few things (3 for VGM22, 2 of which are almost done, several other personal ideas that I haven't started on but will) but I'll still take requests.
Same rules apply.

Taking Requests
Posted 18 years agoI need practice, so I'm taking requests. Just no porn, ok? Also, while it probably won't be an issue, I have the right to choose which ones I do, though I'll make an effort to do what I can.
That is all. Thank you.

Finally put up a picture
Posted 18 years agoI finally put up a picture. A picture. Only took a couple of months. Those that fall onto this page, know that I will finish setting up my profile soon, hopefully. I'm almost done with school, so I should have time. Right now, I'm just procrastinating. :3
