Forbidden Love
Posted 15 years agoChapter 1
Exile
Kalec lay across his bed lost in thought. He was in love with a vampire, and a man. Both transgressions were punishable by death according to Lycan law. Being the alpha male’s son would save him from that sentence, but he would be disinherited and his lover surely killed if they were discovered. Most would consider this a worse fate. He didn’t notice the creature sneaking up on him until it flew from the shadows and tackled him. Kalec’s body tensed and a reflexive growl escaped his lips. The guttural warning changed to a longing moan as he recognized the muscular lanky form that he grappled with. It was Cecario.
Kalec heard his father's words in his mind ‘You have broken our law and mated with a vampire. I hereby disinherit you. You are to leave the pack at once.’ He could feel the bite of disgust and spittle that rained against his face as though it happened only moments ago.
“What’s wrong?” Cecario knew the long silence. Kalec was thinking of things past and hoped a distraction might pull him from darker thoughts.
“Nothing you need to concern yourself with love.” Kalec shook his head and stared at the wall to avoid Cecario’s intense gaze. His lover could always read his darker moods and he didn’t want to trouble him with another
Kalec pull Cecario on top of him and slid off his jeans. As Kalec plunged his member into the sweet warmth, Cecario moaned and transformed into his true vampiric self. The aura or life’s light seemed to edge every detail as Cecario’s black hair shifted to silver and his sapphire eyes blazed crimson in the darkness. Their love wasn’t a half life, but always the full depth of each others being. That, of course, was full vampire and lycan in love’s sweaty heated embrace.
Later that night as Kalec lay sated next to Cecario, a familiar scent drifted through the air. Someone was in their apartment. He slipped out of bed and crept down to the end of the hallway. Kalec glanced around the corner just in time to see a clawed hand burst from the darkness and clutch his throat.
“Pathetic!” The words were more a growl than the hidden whisper he expected.
He knew the scent, and the guttural hate burned him like never before. It was Shane, an old friend. Kalec gasped with the impact as Shane threw him into the wall. When he looked up he saw his love warding off his attacker. His silver hair draped across his shoulder and seemed to reflect the light as he charged.
Shane grabbed him and pinned him to the wall as a sinister grin curled his lips around his protruding canines. “You look pretty weak vampire.”
Shane’s strangled roar buffeted the walls as Kalec reared back and plunged his razor sharp fangs into his attacker’s shoulder like a coiled viper. Shane’s canine clawed hands impaled Cecario but were wrenched loose as Kalec flung him across the room.
Shane’s eyes widened in surprise but he regained his composure almost instantly. “Just you wait! I will kill you both next time.”
It wasn’t a warning, but more a statement of fact as he turned and crashed through their bedroom window and to the street below.

Chapter 1: The Assassin
I stood there in front of my father with my ears folded back as he looked at me with anger. "You what?" he said, words sharp.
"I…umm…want to be able to see what the outside world has to offer…to see what its like," I said.
"You, royalty, want to be among those beneath you? Ridiculous!" he snapped.
"But father! Please...," I began.
"Silence!" he yelled, "As of now, I am no longer your father. Nor are you my son."
I stared at him in disbelief. "Father, you are joking right?" I asked.
He snarled at me, "Get out of my sight.” I felt anger swell up inside of me.
"Dear, please, you don't have to be so hard on him," my mother said
"No. This is my final decision. Now get out of here," he told me.
My eyes were blurred with tears of anger. I turned and bolted out of the room. I ran until I collapsed from exhaustion. I moved with the little strength I had left and sat against a tree.
I was asleep in no time.
I began to dream of when I first desired freedom.
It was about a year ago when some traders came to the castle. I was amazed at all of the items they had. Afterwards, I talked to my mother, who thought that it would be nice for me to travel.
But not my father. He told me a future king shouldn’t say such foolish things.
I awoke to a male voice. I looked up to see a walrus leaning over me. "Hey. You okay?" he asked me.
"Yeah. I’m fine," I said as I stood up.
"My name is Gants. Nice to meet you," he said.
"Likewise. My name is Kael," I replied.
"Are you a soldier too?" he asked.
"Umm…yeah; I just joined today," I lied.
"Do you need me to take you back to the barracks?" Gants asked.
"Uh…yeah, sure." I replied.
He began to walk back to the barracks where I head a deep, booming voice call out to me. "You there! Are you Kael?" I turned and saw a very buff dragon staring at me. "Umm…yes, I am," I admitted.
"Come with me. Your barrack is this way," he informed me, nodding at me to follow him.
‘How did he know who I am?’ Kael thought suspiciously to himself.
"Later," Gants said.
"See ya," I said as I cautiously followed the dragon to my new room.
