No. Fuck that. I've had it with incompetent fucking pet owners and now it feels like FA is ENCOURAGING it.
yeah i'll probably come back all ABLOOBLOO FA on a different account or some shit but goddamn. Furries in general are such shit pet owners. I joined the goddamn fandom because I think animals are cool! I did not join it to see abuse happening and getting glazed over and people hiding comments because they want to be able to live feed all their snakes and not take care of their animals beyond yelling at their dogs every time they move and shit like that. I'm tired of rats in aquariums, dogs with prong collars that "need to learn their place", and ridiculously skinny horses.

I'm fucking tired of it. If you want an animal, you need to do your goddamn research and not just do whatever is convenient or tiddles your whistle or whatever the fuck. I would wager a good chunk of this fandom, BASED AROUND ANIMAL-PEOPLE, do not give a flying fuck about animal care or their pets' physical and psychological health.

Decided - with my hoarding tendencies, financial uncertainties, and personal insecurities, that the last thing we need right now is a puppy. My mom's taking them to the Knoxville shelter. I feel kinda bad for saying no to her, but I've decided that I shouldn't overdo it or overextend my kindness when I'm going through my own issues.

It's actually a HUGE relief to me now that I said no, because I can daydream about eventually getting the perfect dog from a breeder or rescue, rather than dealing with a puppy with no vaccinations, not fixed, nothin'.

Corbin passed away less than a month ago. I had no interest in getting another dog, but my mom has a problem - she was helping take care of her boyfriend's dog, which had puppies a while ago. But now they're looking to rehome them because her boyfriend has stage 4 cancer and is in chemo therapy. He cannot take care of them (this was discovered after the dog was pregnant so I'm not gonna go on a tirade about FIX UR PETS or whatever).

They're going to be taking them to the pound, probably this week, but my mom really wants me to take at least one of them to ensure it has a good home, and not some stranger at a shelter with a wad of cash, as she put it. I don't know what to do in this situation. Some of the puppies will have a low adoption rate (solid black, going to be BIG dogs) so I'd like for them to have a chance but I don't know....it feels kind of disrespectful to Corbin, almost (to get a puppy so soon after he passed away, I mean).

I'm stumped. Should I help out, knowing I'm in a better position than people getting Christmas puppies for their 5 year old, or should I just decline and let all of them go to the shelter? This is kinda a rhetorical question cuz  drake-lord needs to say yes or no about it and he's at work but in case he's like okay maybe then ???? what do, me

I'm not one of those people obviously since I just type like I think (broken, disjointed, rambly and all that) but recently people have been getting mad at me about that (mostly people I don't care about BUT STILL). Do you guys prefer it when I type like this or like what I do in my Omelette Au Fromage journal? I don't want to accidentally make people go UGH YOU'RE DUMB just because I don't parse everything and make words good to readable things do.

Unfortunately B-Rock was being very picky and I tried everything I could think of (food heated above room temperature slightly, braining the mouse, leaving him alone with it for an hour, shaking it, interpretative mouse dancing, etc etc) and I do not feel I am experienced enough to deal with a really picky snake, so I took him and was originally just going to get a refund but then it was like NO MAN CHECK OUT THESE so I wound up with a possibly diffused corn??

I feel kinda bad about B-Rock but I just....I really don't think I would be any good taking care of one that just refuses meals more than just predictably around sheds and stuff. B-Rock was not in shed or anywhere near it apparently :T

Corbin; aka Corbino, Corby, Furniture, and Vicious Alpha Dog has passed. The vet believes it was most likely poison but we have no idea how he could get a hold of that (inside dog, monitored walks).

 drake-lord and I are shocked at how sudden everything was. Corbin has been the best dog anyone could hope for - well behaved, calm, quiet, and affectionate.
