#26:: Updates
Posted 17 years agoJust letting you all know that i haven't forgotten about the badges- since FA was down i lost many references and didn't want to risk drawing/coloring without them. I know I seem like Im coming up with excuses an awful lot, but I haven't forgotten! don't hate me! *hides*
Anywhoo. I've also been uploading a lot on my dA page while FA was down. My username is shikosquirrel there if you're interested, although you'll see the same stuff i upload here. ;)
just got back from a trip to Saskatchewan yesterday to visit my boyfriend's mother's family on her farm out by Narquay (north-east about an hour's drive from the border). it was run down, but still livable and we got to camp-out and run around in the wheat field. It was fun. :) (of course, the farmer of said wheat field probably won't be too happy with us when he finds a chunk of his crops damaged by rampant kids) My favorite part by far was the stars. It makes me sad to know how much those of us in larger cities are missing out. Those of you who haven't already, I highly recommend going a few hours out of the city and stargazing with a friend or two. It will be worth it, I promise you.
Another big thing for me is that I finally got around to getting my learners' back in mid-july. I've been putting it off for years, not really needing it. But they needed another "driver" to switch off with (my boyfriend's parents were taking the truck with his brother while he and i were in the car). I'd only driven a few times before and one time actual city driving but they said i did really well.
In other news, my parents are leaving tomorrow (the 6th) for THEIR vacation to Texas and Arizona states for a week. Leaving me behind to watch the house/work/be bored of course. -shrugs- I probably wouldn't have been able to get the extra days off anyway since they granted me a week for the Saskatchewan trip. C'est la vie.
Art wise, I don't have much. As I said before, my big project before FA went down was the badges. While I've done a few side stuff and sketches I haven't really had the motivation to finish a lot of my sketches that turned out half-decent.
That's it for now, I believe. Just thought I'd say hi and let everyone know what's been going on this past month. =)

Reasons why my life is actually pretty good despite my chem exam being tomorrow
1) I'm going to boonstock! my boyfriend suggested we go, which i'm totally surprised cuz usually he hates crowds. And well, this is 2 days of straight concerts we're talking about here with popular bands. (See the lineup on the website) But i'm not complaining.
2) I found out today i passed my piano exam for grade 8. Yay! It turns out i got 75% when i needed a 65% to pass. I had to redo it because i had a crummy examiner who decided to fail me last year So that's one less thing i have to worry about next year.
3) I get paid this week!
4) i'm going shopping with my boyfriend (another suggestion of his, again hes the type that does NOT like shopping at all) sometime this weekend.
5) schools out!
6) Tomorrow's my chem exam, but after that i'm freeeeee
7) this really should've been on the top of the list.
but for you pheonix wright nerds out there: be jealous! (unless you've already got it) for I'm about to receive the first game in the mail from Ebay.
so yay!
And yes, i'm still puttering away at the badges. ^___^

#15: GUESS WHAT GAIS!

As of the 23rd of May, (hopefully sooner) i'll be an employee of EB Games! I've given my current boss at the Liquor Store my two week notice, but since i only work a few times a week there, I can get a couple training shifts at EB in between now and the time i'm officially out of Liquor Barn.
I'm actually shitting myself with glee right now. I've wanted this job for a long-ass time. I mean who wouldn't? It's a gaming store!
So. Yeah. I'll post some inks of drawings i've done but i haven't bothered coloring them yet. :3 keep a look out for those!
I have money again, which is good. So trades are back up. requests are still closed, though. i need a break from those.

As of the 23rd of May, (hopefully sooner) i'll be an employee of EB Games! I've given my current boss at the Liquor Store my two week notice, but since i only work a few times a week there, I can get a couple training shifts at EB in between now and the time i'm officially out of Liquor Barn.
I'm actually shitting myself with glee right now. I've wanted this job for a long-ass time. I mean who wouldn't? It's a gaming store!
So. Yeah. I'll post some inks of drawings i've done but i haven't bothered coloring them yet. :3 keep a look out for those!
I have money again, which is good. So trades are back up. requests are still closed, though. i need a break from those.

Posted 17 years agoI've been browsing through my gallery, making note of what i have too much of, and not enough. I want to hear what you guys would like to see more of, what i should cut back on, or what i should scrap all together.
Here's some ideas:
-species i should attempt? techniques?
-themes?
This is very vague, feel free to take your own input on it, DONT TREAT THIS LIKE A FILL OUT FORM.
If anyone takes the time to read this journal, please be honest with your replies. (all of them are read and appreciated!). Refrain from outright offensive remarks, but if you feel the need to criticize, criticize away.
Also, Ive noticed i seem to be lacking in actual sketches. Would you guys be interested if i posted them up the way they are on paper without any digital adding? I know i always like to see sketches of artists... but mine aren't exactly... neat. I'm still learning how to free-sketch as it were. But the perfectionist in me still demands erasing constantly and refining lines a lot more than i should.

I'm on spring break! I've got a week to do any requests or trades you crazy furries would like to do. I like commissions too. <3.
What say you guys to the "Trying something new" series? Should i keep going with it or drop it? Feel free to give me some critique on them. i haven't done gay porn before, and males are a bit of a weak point for me anatomically. Critique is good!

The orthodontist added an elastic to my right side in my muzzle the other day. i'm so hungry it's ridiculous, but it still hurts to eat anything other than soup or jello. :(

Art updateage will be slow for the next couple weeks due to exam crunch time. Also a large painting i need done by the end of this week that im barely into second stage that's twice the size of my "The Chill Sets In".
I have sketches done in my sketchbook, but alas, until February or so, sketches they will remain.
If anyone's still interested in free art, there's still that 3k pageviews event thingy.

Painteddog is done, I'm awaiting it to be mailed to me, and i'm super excited for it.
