Last reminder for the anthrocon meet
Posted 12 years agoJust one final reminder to make sure everyone sees this, and knows where the meet is for sure. Its going to be outside the grand ballroom by the escalators, the same place as the dancerfurs cypher on saturday at 1:00 in the afternoon.
Nevermind, we have a DJ now!

That being said, I look foreward to seeing you all at anthrocon and getting this group active and going again!
And we got a DJ, special thanks to

Anthrocon 2013 Shufflefurs Meetup!
Posted 12 years agoHey, guys!
here!
A few updates. If you're wondering where the logo went, someone filed a DMCA notice through FA note (lol) requesting that the avatar be taken down and an admin took action. It was a pawprint in a biohazard sign that was taken from two stock images from Google, then edited together to make an icon. Apparently, this particular design was the original concept of someone else (do not steal) and I had not realized this when I created mine. I'll get around to making a more "original" logo when I'm less busy and I have time to scour the internet first prior to making one.
Unless...
Even better. Let's hold a contest. If you'd like to make an icon for the group, I'll feature it. Simple as that. If we get enough entries, I'll select the best out of the bunch and use it.

Who's going? If everything pans out accordingly, perhaps we could have a Shufflefurs meetup for those interested!
Post-Anthrocon stuff (And more!) via Dexi!
Posted 14 years agoHey guys,
Dexistomors here, like the title says. Anthrocon was amazing, and it was great to meet some of you shufflefurs at the convention. The raves were pretty great, and the dance circles were fun to watch. I don't really know what else to write on the topic of Anthrocon though, because if you weren't there, I can't really sum up how fun it was for you, so I'll let anyone below inform you via comments on their experiences, if any at all.
It's nice to see how the shuffle has expanded a bit more, thanks to LMFAO. I know some people show grief, because they think it's becoming mainstream, or just not as unique. I, personally, think it's just giving people a common interest, and helping you meet new people. It's a fun dance. After touching that subject though, I think it's time to move on.
I've seen alot of new shufflers lately, and I'm always happy to help people out. If you're out there, and you're practicing, kudos. If you want any help, feel free to send me a note! I've noticed though, alot of newer shufflers are really tense while they practice. Just relax, you don't want to be stiff while practicing. (No furries, I don't mean that kind of stiff!) Just relax, and if you have an open area to practice in, try closing your eyes. If you're clumsy though, don't take that bit of advice, I'd hate for anyone to break a coffee table or a limb.
I'm not a master at shuffling, and don't claim to be. Fellow shufflers, if you have any helpful tips, feel free to post them! I might end up taking the advice myself!

FAQ
Posted 14 years agoHey shufflers! It's
here. If you're new to the group and wondering what we are all about, please check out the group's profile information for clarification. I will be answering some questions about the group in this journal as well.
1. How do I join?
Click the +Watch button and you're in! Help spread awareness by adding the group icon to your page in one of two ways:
Without spaces, add : iconshufflefurs : or : shufflefursicon :
Tell your friends about us and help us expand the group!
2. How do I submit art/videos?
Send us a note with your art/video and we will happily post it to the group for others to enjoy. We will credit you, of course. Videos are slightly more tricky, so please contact
pilot or if you can transcode your video into an .SWF file (via a YouTube converter) that would be great. We can also link your video in an FA submission as well.
For videos, please specify whether or not you would like our group members to offer constructive criticism on your shuffle. One benefit of being a part of
is that we have a wide range of shufflers with different skill levels ranging from beginners to advanced here to help you improve every step of the way.
3. I want to shuffle! Where do I start?
I would recommend watching the YouTube video entitled "HARDSTYLE SHUFFLE TUTORIAL(LEARN IN 6 STEPS HOW TO DANCE IT)" which is located in the group's profile description. My personal advice to new shufflers is to take it slow. Learn the two-step motion until you can build up your rhythm enough to keep up with the beat; don't ever rush it! This is a common mistake most beginners make and they end up learning incorrectly. Remember that the running man is half hop, half slide. The side-to-side, heel-to-toe movement (called the Shuffle) can be practiced virtually anywhere; I used to practice it under my school desk while listening to boring lectures. Lastly, consider the following to improve your shuffle once you have mastered the core movements (running man + shuffle):
Spins
Kicks
Arm movements
Head bobbing
Jumps
Slides
Moonwalk
Other tricks
Most importantly: never give up.
4. Will you two be attending any conventions?
Yes, we will! We already attended FWA'11 and we plan on making it to AC'11. You can catch Dexi and I at the raves--we usually hit 'em all up. We may have a shuffle meetup sometime during Anthrocon. More details on that later.
If you have any more questions, please post a comment below or send the group a note/send a note to Pilot or Dexistomors. Thank you all for being awesome and keep shuffling!

FWA!
Posted 14 years agoHello, shufflefurs! This is
Dexistomors speaking! Pilot and I are both presently at FWA, hitting up all of the raves! If you see some shufflers, feel free to join in as Pilot and I shall most likely be in the middle of them! :D
Also, Pilot feels that I should also add that I am gay and enjoy it in the rear. Feel free to harass him while he has his fursuit on, since the lights will blind him and he won't know what (or who) hit him!

Icon: Sacco
Posted 14 years agoSacco was a part of HSA, a shuffle clan located in Australia, but the group disbanded a few years ago for unknown reasons. To this day, Sacco is revered as one of the most skilled shufflers of his time. Nowadays, he frequently DJs for house parties and professional gigs. You can read more about his new career path on his business website http://www.risk1710.com/. Be sure to check out his Youtube channel for more shuffle videos!
