So I'm kind of stuck in a rut, psychologically, artistically, and physiologically.

I feel like i'm living the same day over and over again, which isn't really surprising considering that I am. I miss living with people I actually like and get along with, and I miss making my own rules and the like.

Physiologically, i think i'm suffering from sleep apnea and getting almost no actual rest from my sleep. It leaves me grumpy and tired and whatnot.

Artistically, i have no muse and no real drive to produce art. So i'm gonna be taking requests for stuff. The only thing is that they're not free commissions. no "how bout you draw my character doing this thing" just some interesting concept or whatnot to get my creative juices... well thawed

Apparently there is a "worldwide movement" towards banning the Comic Sans font due to it being unprofessional and typographically immature.

One quote from the site states using comic sans is "analogous to showing up for a black-tie event in a clown costume"

First off, its a font. A different way of looking at words, which i approve of. Sometimes Helvetica, the "reliable industry standard" and Times New Roman just get boring after seeing it -everywhere-. What's wrong with trying to read something in a little more casual setting?

Also, I believe that Comic Sans is less of a clown-costume font and more of a jeans-and-a-tee-shirt font. And while yes, showing up to your sister's wedding or a business proposal in ripped jeans and an ACDC tee would be somewhat insulting, there's nothing wrong with lounging around your own home on your day off while wearing more casual clothes.

As far as work and school goes, I can understand why the ever-anonymous "they" don't want Comic Sans being used. It is very casual and unprofessional. I don't, however, see the problem with using the casual font for things like personal emails and instant messaging.

I mean, come on, how many people dress in the super-classy Times New Roman (I.E. black suite and jacket) to run down to grab a bag of potato chips from Walmart?

Honestly, I'd worry less about a casual font type and more about grammar. Or am I the only one who notices people who have started speaking as if they were LOLCats?

So yeah, i'm alive and depressed, FA going down made me very bored for a month and artwork is still at a crawl cuz of work and i was on vacation for a week that was supposed to be relaxing but was actually very busy so nothing got done then, and now my lion roommate is gone to MFM and i'm stuck at home with work and cleaning that desperately needs done.

And i really just needed to update my journal so Bleh!

Alright, as an artist I feel that I need to improve. I've got most of the basics i think, i can even draw passable hands (sometimes). My question for those kind enough to help is regarding details. I browse through my fair share of FA art and have a number of people that i watch and i envy the amount of detail most artists can put in to their work.

It just seems like a single piece can have so much more detail in it than i can manage. It seems impossible to me how to put that much detail into so small an image unless you've got a magnifying glass and a .01 mm pencil. If anyone has tips on how to put more detail into sketches without blurring it horribly please let me know.

And maybe i just need to buy a bigger sketchpad (mine is 9"x12"). Or use up a whole page with a sketch so its bigger. i don't know.

Please give me any suggestions you can!

- Alright, this is a storyboard project. basically i need characters for a story I'm writing and i thought it would be fun to use other peoples' characters and see how they would interact. Chapters would be written as i can write them (comprising between 7 and 9 chapters total) with various sketches and drawings along the way.

gah, so much for having time to draw now that college is out for the summer. I suppose getting a job in a single week is a good thing, and jumping head first into a 50 hour workweek is also happy from a money standpoint, but boy does it make you exhaustified and quick.

Major appologies to Realis for not getting you your stuff sooner. Until i get more used to the crazyness that is my schedule the only time i have to work on art is on the weekend, and its also the only time i have to socialize as well.

Well i'm alive and (relatively) in good health.
