I Did It!
Posted 5 days agoI had my own October prompts for writing, and I fulfilled them all with a novella I wrote over this month, along with a short story and parts of my personal project. Here I have it, on my Patreon.

Let's Talk: My Prompts
Posted 5 months agoBefore the turn of the month, I reached out to the head of the writing group I'm with. I proposed a contest for the group, using prompts that I had already determined. He told me that the group is not used for competition, but recommended proposing to other members of the group. I did just that. I reached out to them, explaining my proposition.
There's a story behind the series of prompts. For my nostalgia month, I wanted to build on prompts, the same names as those of title songs from the anime that made my childhood, the original Japanese version. Those prompts: Voice, Shuffle, Wild Drive, Warriors, Overlap. The chapters or short stories, built upon each prompt, had to be connected.
Only two people could play my game, but I wanted to share my thoughts on them.
The first was by Zakaridus, about his fursona. The universe of this story has both magic and modern technology. He is tasked to obtain a lost item of importance.
The first section builds on "Voice" by a speaker or representative. This sets up the job along with his character's line of work.
The second section is literal on "Shuffle" with cards. I don't follow his lore. So, I wouldn't know the game mentioned, let alone whether he made it up, but the interactions are good. The implication of weapons leads to how dangerous the profession is, and the setting is just what I thought, an underground casino. The scene breaking out leads to a potential faction war.
The third section is also literal about "Wild Drive", which is even said. This is where he is fickle: good with guns, yet keen on not killing. The chase scene is short but intense and fast-paced. He also displays being street-smart, knowing what types of bribes would help him keep a low profile.
The fourth section changes in approach. He is stealthy, and he is skilled, but not perfect. That part makes for good writing. Him wanting to avoid a fight makes sense. The "Warriors" prompt is incorporated into the street gang.
The fifth section is the conclusion of a heist. The key item is found, and he learns how it got where it is. He finds an ally in a captive, who works for the gang's rival. The "Overlap" part is for how their paths and missions cross with each other. It ends returning to the character from the beginning. I saw proper closure. Add that I have a soft spot for a moment reminding me of James Bond, and you got me.
I consider this story a profound story compacted into a fun one-off.
The second story was by Wertyda, an original, contemporary, and human-only, first-person narrative. It's very short, about a relationship between a boy and a dog as he grows up.
I had to think about where he got the prompts as English is not his mother language. I deduced that he got the dog's bark from "Voice", the dog's unpredictable attitude from "Shuffle", "Wild Drive" being literal in that the dog comes off wild when they go for a walk, a makeshift gladiator arena for the dogs from "Warriors", and "Overlap" built on how the same dogs could compare running a course. Honestly, I first expected the narrator and his best friend to make a gladiator arena for themselves, too.
I must give tough love. The only spaces between segments are the numbers. There is no proper formatting for a transition. It's a slice-of-life story, which is fine. The only problem is that even though he describes the moments, the time jumps make for confusion.

Let's Talk: Adult Rating
Posted 7 months agoMuch of the context I want to provide is irrelevant, yet I need to.
I was disappointed that what feedback I got on a short story I wrote for a group I'm in was minimal. The most prevalent members are too busy to read every entry. Some are too busy with other people they watch. Then, among the replies when I sent a pushing message, I got that my friend disables the Adult-rated content in their feed.
Here is my question: In a place such as FurAffinity, what do you expect the most out of adult-rated content? By my impression, the rating is for explicit sexual activity and extreme violence. In my case, it was the latter whilst addressing a real-world issue. Thanks to the tag disabling, I can now easily avoid things with the most bothersome fetishes, but their thumbnails are blurred out. If only they were omitted completely from search results, my browsing would be easier.
To be specific, what do you seek the most among adult-rated content: sexual content, fetishes, or extreme violence?

My Own Statistics
Posted 8 months agoI've been playing "Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel", and doing so has taken over me. Because of the events they regularly hold, I counted how many people run specific decks.
The latest event in particular is called "Legend Anthology". It was meant to highlight staple cards. Loaner Decks are available, but you can still use your own decks, yet the event has its banlist "for the sake of balance". In this event, the Loaner Decks were Exodia support complete with the card, The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate, a Blaze Cannon Deck, and the Trickstar Deck.
People I faced who used Loaner Decks: 23
People I faced who didn't use Loaner Decks: 32
Most of those who ran a Loaner Deck opted for the Exodia support deck, abusing the key card. We do anything to win, but when everyone plays the same way, the fun gets taken out.
I'll run such statistics and more specifics for future events.

I Don't Wanna Do This
Posted 10 months agoAn issue has come to my attention. Trump has threatened to annex Canada, my country, causing Canadian Conservatives to kiss his ass. Canada is better off separate from America. I want voices heard. I'm afraid that if Trump makes Canada a state, things will get much worse. Please, don't let this happen.

Achievement
Posted 10 months agoI fulfilled my goal of drawing a dragon each month over 2024. I posted them on my Patreon first.
January: Red dragon whelp + Red Eastern dragon (never posted)
February: Ice dragon painting + crossover fan drawing of Letty and Rimentus hugging (posted here)
March: Orca dragon (posted on SF Beta)
April: Earth Dragon portrait
May: Fan drawing of Spyro and Cynder holding hands
June: Alexandrite dragon climbing
July: Anthro dragon reading + Anthro wolf reading to feral dragon (both posted on here)
August: Crow dragon in reaction to Dragoneer's passing + Green and blue lion dragon
September: Shark dragon swimming underwater (posted on BlueSky)
October: Demon dragon portrait
November: Jackal dragon
December: Cyborg dragon with guns
In 2023, I wrote a story about a young mercenary connecting with an orca woman much older than him. In Spring 2024, I expanded upon his story and found more to do with him. I also find story about my young, depressed artist far from finished. If only I could think of real goals for this year, though.

Switching
Posted a year agoGiven that creators I've supported on Patreon are moving to SubscribeStar, I'm making the transition myself. I'll still post on my Patreon, but until I start posting on SubscribeStar.
Should I Already Switch?
Posted a year agoI heard from two artists I watch, one of whom is my idol that Patreon intends to ban NSFW accounts. My books and short stories are 18+, which is my tag on Patreon for graphic violence. I could potentially be banned for that. So, should I start a SubscribeStar page?

Short Christmas Journal
Posted 3 years agoWhen I talked about Christmas each year, I spoke about its artistic approach and later how it sickened me with commercialism. I have burned out posting a journal every holiday, but I want to try once more. There have been fuck-ups this year, but I'm sure some people have made personal achievements this year.
I still mourn the deaths of Kazuki Takahashi and Kevin Conroy. They left us too soon. I have also been on edge about AI art. I can assure you, AI won't replace the people on FA, who I highly recommend:
Flash_lioness, ToddWolf, Sisco, Wolnir, Tallion, Rukis, AlaresnoLynx, hibbary, Kamakru, and Isuna.

No More Bullshit

This is Serious: Read and Sign
Posted 5 years agoThe biggest porn site, one of the most browsed websites, is supporting sexual trafficking. I came across a petition in March, demanding that Pornhub be held accountable for sexual trafficking. They're just like all other corporations. All that they care about is money. They make ad revenue off videos. Among those videos, teenagers, and even younger people are featured being beaten or tied up, and defiled by a complete stranger or a someone fucked up related by marriage.
Everything is shown here: https://traffickinghubpetition.com/
Check out the following video, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20x9xEzlODU
If you care about the mental health of the young traumatized by rape, and the videos of such shown online being reminders, please sign. The year is half-over now, and the world has already gone to shit. If there is to be any achievement this year, it should be the end of Pornhub. Getting rid of it is the only way to get rid of the painful memories of the underage victims. It sickens me that people slut-shame rape victims. It's even more sickening when the perpetrators have the gall to post such. The evidence is right there, and they might still face no consequence.

Can You Help?
Posted 5 years agoI still post mostly on deviantART, but that might change. If Eclipse has its way, I might not be able to post written works in its new version of Stash. They're ditching Stash Writer and I'll have to upload a file for others to copy if they're to read my stories. I've been relying on Stash for files to be read by possible Beta-readers. For those who don't know: Stash is the side of dA where drafts are kept before posting, or for items to share only with contacts.
So, here's my question: can you recommend a site for storing files (without uploading from Word)? Do you know where I can keep items to be viewed read by only those I give the link to? I doubt anyone is open to provide an e-mail address when I seek Beta-readers.

Posted 7 years agoYeah, I don't always post on here, but this is important.
I must ask something critical, and whoever reads this, be honest.
Would you hate me for drawing a character that you created, dead?
