Alright. :3 So in the past, I've tried doing commissions and YCHs many times and rarely did anything come of it. But the truth is... I didn't do it for money. If money were the reason I did it, I wouldn't have been working for $5 an hour. Sure, it was a motivator, but not because I needed it. It was because I was too embarrassed to go to the person who commissioned me and say "Hey, sorry, I couldn't finish the art, here's a refund".
The reason I really enjoyed doing comms and YCHs is because, well, it let me practice drawing characters that are NOT my own designs. So with that in mind, one of my two new years resolutions this year was to do this. :3
The rules are simple. Drop a visual reference for up to two characters in the comments below, and what kind of feeling you'd like for the art for each character, as well as if you'd like it SFW or NSFW.
Some examples of this may be:
"Draw Dawn being flirty, SFW"
"Draw Amber acting shy, NSFW"
"Draw Viridian looking cute, SFW"
Keep it kind of vague, so I can have some artistic freedom. However, if I like your design and idea, I'll communicate with you over the process of the creation as if it were a commission, showing WIPs and such. So you do not need to worry about misrepresentation :3
I will be selecting two characters, each put into a one character piece according to how me and the requester desire, and they will be picked from two different people. :3 I hope to hear from anyone interested soon!

Posted 6 years agoLooking to branch out my "brand". Anyone have any ideas for a good art site I could give a shot? Doesn't have to be furry oriented, as long as it does most of these things:
-Decent "install base"
-Doesn't allow porn (may disregard this one if I really can't find anything)

Posted 7 years agoJust as a note, going out of town from August 4th to August 12th, going canoeing up in the Boundary Waters between Minnesota and Canada with my dad and brother. Two days up, five days on the water, two days back. Camping in the middle of buttfuck nowhere. Gonna be great!

Posted 8 years agoTechnically I never closed for commissions in the first place since opening them with my sheet being posted last fall(?), but I am off to a rocky start with drawing ideas this year. Between thinking up jokes for Silver Fox Tails (brainstorming with friends as well on that), I haven't drawn anything since the new year but doodly sketches that I can't post for one reason or another. SO, why not open for commissions and instead draw for someone else since I can't draw for myself right now? So if you want a thing from me, just leave a comment down below and when I confirm it we can discuss in notes the meat of the matter. Problem with my new phone, anyone have an idea?
Posted 8 years agoSo I just got a new phone the other day (iPhone SE) and I have one gripe with it so far that I am posting about in hope of suggestions for a solution. And it isn't anything you would probably expect.
The backside of it has this brushed aluminum finish, which is sleek and looks quite nice. However, I wear quite a lot of steel jewelry, particularly rings. And these are big, bulky rings I wear. I am worried about my rings scratching the back of the phone and ruining the lovely finish. You should hear the noises it makes when I hold it and wear those things. Gentle scrapings like a tiny filer.
Anyone got an idea for a clear, maybe rubbery or smooth substance or material I could apply that could protect the back of it? Preferably something that goes on with a paintbrush or with an adhesive backing, such as a kind of tape.

Update on Work Ethic and Commissions
Posted 8 years agoAbout 6 months ago, I said commissions are closed permanently. I did not explain why. Well, the reason why, or at least one of the main reasons, was that I felt that with the amount of effort it takes to create one picture that I just would not be able to make any decent money off of art.
However what I didn't know is EXACTLY how long it takes for me to create art. I had not had my mojo for a couple years now, only really getting it back recently for the first time since probably 2013, when Niti died. I am now a very creative-minded person, constantly coming up with new ideas for art and constantly having at least one or two things on my plate at a time, sometimes even more.
So with my last three pictures, Reniti, Stern Glare, and Fiery Blaze, I ran some tests to see how much time it takes me on average to complete each step and how much time on average it takes me to complete a whole project, and the answer shocked me. On average, from start to finish, rounded to the nearest 5 minutes, a typical art project takes me only 4 hours and 25 minutes of continuous work. As long as I have been doing commissions art has always felt like a drag most of the time, only having fun for a few days in the form of a short burst. Thus, I always ballparked my typical workload being 10+ hours.
Because of this, my main reasoning for closing commissions in the first place is no longer valid. As such I have drafted new prices that are weighted between the amount of time it takes to do art and how much I want to be making in $/hour and will be posting my sheet after making this journal.

Need some Patreon ideas from you guys!
Posted 8 years agoHello watchers! I am in the process of trying to figure out what I could use as tier rewards on Patreon, because surprise surprise, I want to see how that route will go. I have a few ideas, but I want to know from you guys, the people who are most likely to be patrons after all, to tell me what you would be interested in receiving as rewards.
Some of the ideas that I have thought of for Patreon bonuses are:
- Global discounts on commissions from me, that can be used as many times as you want, as often as you want, and roll over from one month into the next. Think of the rolling over like accumulating coupons over time to the point what you are paying for is negligibly cheap.
- Themed picture vote: I hope to make it a regular thing, either monthly or bimonthly, to set up a Patreon vote where patrons can vote on what popular character to put in a themed picture, for example, voting on who would be put in a beach picture during the summer or Christmas lingerie in the winter.
-Month-early access to certain NSFW arts: Certain NSFW art, typically erotica, will be exclusive to Patreon supporters for a month before making it to other platforms. However most NSFW art will remain free and will be released on time normally, as that is my bread and butter and I do not want to put a timed paywall in front of what people tend to enjoy most of what I do.
-Raffles: Higher tier supporters as a thank you for pledging so high get the added bonus on top of everything else to have a monthly or bi-monthly chance of getting free art from me. Winner from previous months are excluded to prevent successive winning and the number of winners is scaled to the number of patrons in the higher tiers, so the odds are never too unlikely of winning.
If anybody interested in being a future Patreon supporter of mine has any ideas of what they would like to add to the list of bonuses that would further convince them to be one, let me know what you would like to see me do. I will gladly listen as I still need to flesh out three more tiers!

I feel dead inside...
Posted 9 years agoFlappy... my dog Flappy. We just had to put him down. He had cancer for over a year, and did so well for a long time. It didn't bother him at all. But then he fell apart so fast. Everything came tumbling down... and what made us decide it was time was he started to have head tremors in the morning, which made him cry from pain. That was two days ago... and he wasn't the super happy Flappy we loved anymore. So we had the vet put him down. I can't take it... I'm so hungry but I can't get myself to eat anything good... all I am eating is garbage and it'll just make me feel like shit physically on top of emotionally...

Posted 9 years agoGot my computer part and installed it. Now I think my problem's fixed with charging. I'll be gradually uploading my backlog of art from the past month or so of traditional art a few a day so as to not bulldoze my watchers. :3

Posted 9 years agoI haven't had much to do with art sites lately or wanting to communicate much. My computer and scanner are out of service right now, I'm waiting on a new DC power jack for my laptop. It's not charging correctly and I diagnosed it as the port. So I'm not really able to do digital art and I don't want to chat a whole lot when all I have is a tiny touch screen keyboard. So in the meantime I've been working my creative mojo with traditional media. Expect a huge art dump once I have my laptop up and running and can use a scanner.

Posted 9 years agoAnyone got an idea for how I could pose a red fox lady with long hair? She's usually drawn nude in sexy (but definitely not slutty) poses. If you've got an idea for a relatively simple sexy pose I could draw her in, I'd love to hear it in the comments. Nothing too complex or fancy though, it's going on two months since I picked up a pencil, I wanna be able to actually accomplish it.

Hit a big snag. (Raffle Winners Please Read)
Posted 9 years agoSo... I appear to have found myself in a sticky situation. I now have the funds for the raffle prizes, in a mix of money and DA points. So I decided to go through the printing process for the raffle prizes now. I went through all the steps and was ready to confirm my order. But then on the order confirmation page it asked me what shipping method I want to use. I tried to select a method from the drop down menu, but there were no options to select. Not a single one. I shrugged it off guessing maybe they only have one shipping method open right now or something and tried to finalize the order. But then it stopped me, saying that I need to select a shipping method. But I can't select a shipping method. So I can't order the prizes. :\ I'm not about to cheapen the product and have them made through Walgreens or something, so to the prize winners, I ask you sit tight for a while while I wait for the help desk to process my ticket reporting the issue.
