My friends deserve a huge round of hugs for being there for me. Due to selling off all of my camera equipment this week to help fund my gender reassignment surgery, I will be closing my DeviantArt and FA accounts. I will have a new DA account for saving favorites (SempreSirena), but that is it.

Life has been difficult due to being born with both genders through a birth defect. I am finally able to post a deposit and schedule my gender reassignment surgery. The stressful part is that I have to come up with another $10,000 to pay for the remainder of surgical costs and travel to Thailand. That is why I am forced to sell my Nikon D300 rig, lenses and other photographic gear.

A great job is a blessing, but can also be a curse. My new year's resolution is working on a better balance between work and life, allowing more fun an some photography to top it off :-D

Unpacking continues in my new upstairs apartment on the edge of the Alameda, CA lagoons. I learned today that the lagoons were originally the edge of the bay, where they filled in the other side for more homes, leaving the lagoon system where the original seawall stands. So I literally DO have a bayfront home. The job at Kaiser Permanente is heaven, the new home is heaven and I head to Hawaii for a week on the 1st for work. I hope the luck continues... Perhaps a new girlfriend?

I thought the 4th interview with Kaiser went well - I guess it did, since the internal recruiter called the next day to discuss potential compensation. Now I wait, wait and wait longer for them to ponder and call with a formal offer. I do hope I land this job, it could actually work into my last position. They want someone to work the program for a good decade.

My fourth interview with Kaiser is next week and I am close to landing the job of a lifetime! I hope to convert more of my photograhic works this weekend or in the coming weeks for posting here (file sizes are normally way to large for FA).

The wonderful cruise came and went I have been remiss in posting my work here, where most of my works are posted upon DeviantArt (http://silverthorne-uni.deviantart.com/). I will slowly sync up this account for my friends.

One fact about myself is that I am transsexual. I have been hesitant to share my story and my journey toward correcting the issue of my gender, but others have pointed out that nobody can help with a secret situation. Therefore, I am putting more time into my photography to further share with others, including no longer watermarking my works.

I also have setup a donation fund via PayPal, allowing those that wish to aid with efforts to finally undergo Gender Reassignment Surgery. Such surgery costs approximately $20,000 USD. Any donations are greatly appreciated and all such funds will go solely towards my surgery in Thailand and associated costs.
