Hi folks!

I just got back from Texas Furry Fiesta and i'm happy to say it was a blast! This would be a very long journal if I gave you a complete rundown of what I did the past few days, so i'm just going to include the highlights.

Met Folks: I got to meet a lot of artists and writers I've spoken to online or at least admired their work from afar. I said hello and even had conversations with  mitti,  donryu,  spiderdasquirrel,  quasiskunk,  rukis, and  kyell. A special thank you is in order for Donryu, who had nothing but the kindest words about my characters and the art I commission.

Commissions/Purchases: I haven't uploaded them yet, but I got two commissions at the con. I finally got new art of Jed and Theodore from Mitti and Hubert has never looked so hunky thanks to Rukis.

Panels: I attended plenty of panels at the con, but highlights include ending the First Furry Con panel with one of the panelists having the audience chant "Don't be a dick," Rukis explaining she enjoys drawing Kyell's straight characters in gay situations (specifically referring to this story, which is NSFW: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13830437/) during the Adult Furry Fiction panel, getting to ask a question during the Unsheathed podcast with Kyell,  KM_Hirosaki, and  fuzzwolf, and the short story improv event, which had me in stitches thanks to the storytelling of Kyell, KM_Hirosaki, and  Sasuke aided by the hilarious pics drawn by Mitti, Donryu, and  LauraGarabedian.

Food: TFF staff was on point with getting the wonderful food trucks to come to the con. Pulled pork grilled cheese! Bacon Mac and Cheese! Quesadillas that have cheese! I think you may see a pattern here.

Reoccurring Gags: I plan on going to more cons in the future, so i'll have to get used to people remarking that getting on an elevator with someone named Skunkbomb may be a bad idea and that wearing my Certified Salesweasel badge (seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13548369/) makes people think i'm one of the dealers at the con.

Pictures: I was shy about taking pictures of the fursuiters since i'm always nervous about talking to someone I don't know, but I got a few pics on my phone. The amount of work not only put into the physical construction, but the way folks interact in the suits, is amazing. I may get a fursuit in the future, but not for a while now.

I can't wait to go back to my next con, though I'm not sure what that'll be yet. FWA is within driving distance, but I may be visiting family around that time. I'm interested in moving out west at some point to Seattle, Denver, or somewhere in California, so the cons in those areas also interest me. Megaplex probably won't happen since my lease is up on the house i'm in now in July and I plan to move someplace with more publishing jobs (hopefully out west, though New York is the publishing hub). Hi folks!

As I mentioned back in January, i'll be attending Texas Furry Fiesta, which will be my first furry con. I can use any helpful tips you can think of, but I do have specific questions.

What if I want to commission an artist who's open for commissions in the artist alley? Do I need to bring physical refs with me or just give them the link to my FA page? Do I have to give the artist a sketchbook to draw my commission in or do they have their own paper?

I'm flying through Spirit Airlines, which is my first time doing so. Has anyone else flown through Spirit before? If so, what was it like?

I plan on attending many writing panels. I know that no two panels are alike, but how have the writing panels been in the past for those who have attended them?
