Hard to believe that we're already 2 months into the year! Here's my plans this year for cons if any of you wanted to know. Of course it's all subject to change.

-Mephit Furmeet - This is almost a sure thing really. Been toying with the idea going a day earlier on Wednesday and leaving out Monday.

-MidWest Furfest - This is a 50/50, just depending on if Sodders can get the time off work. Should have some time to burn at the end of the year so I'd like to try for a earlier day to get there, again if schedule permits. Should know about this one later this year.

That's it really for this year due to a pending move and just trying to save up some cash.

Wish I was able to do Furry Fiesta but it's on the edge of not drivable. We'll try for it one year though.

No plans for Furry Weekend Atlanta this year as much as I'd love to go. I'm going to wait this con out due the crappy time we had last year. Mind you, I love the con and the people running it but the hotel is just so fucking horrible. I'm not going to dump that much money on a room and parking just to have a shitty time plus several friends that went last year were not going back either. I think I spent more time waiting for elevators then I did having fun. I really wish they would consider other locations in the city as downtown is waaaay overpriced, over crowded and smells like hobo piss =(

No plans for Rocket City Furmeet either this year. Longer drive just to stop by plus don't really know anyone going.

Anthrocon, no.. way too expensive and too many people for my comfort level.

Made it past Thanksgiving, so spending a few minutes to write up a con review! All in all, I had a blast!

The good:

-Was nice just to get a break from everyday life!
-Getting to see a lot of friends, some I've never met in person and a few I haven't seen in years.
-Good food and a great hotel.
-Good to see the area is getting built up more.
-Free parking rocks! A few other cons should make it a point when signing a contract.
-Great to see so many Sabers!
-Great to see the other Predators!

The bad:

-Had an extra day over last year but still feels like there wasn't enough time to hang out with people or schedules conflicted.
-Due to the government shutdown, cash was limited so had to skip on meals/stuff.
-Horrible traffic and drivers in Indiana and Illinois.
-Extremely noisy/messy neighbors, people do try to sleep at 4am.
-Got stuck in an elevator because several people piled in after us, overloading it. The elevator rules never seemed to be enforced.

The ugly:

-Not sure when or if we'll go again with our work and vacation restrictions. With the drive, I almost need to stop halfway and spend the night at a hotel which would need another day or at least a half.

Everything looks in line to go this year!  sodders and I will be driving up very early Thursday and should be in sometime that afternoon. We'll be staying at the Hyatt and will be leaving out Monday morning.

Look forward to seeing friends and suiting a bunch! I will be updating twitter on events as we go or plan on going to them.

Just a little more than a month to go before M(W)FF. Still hope to go but depending on how long the government is shutdown will determine if I go or not. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.. should know later this month if MFF is a go.

Everyone wish  sodders a very happy Birthday today!

It only took 2 weeks =p

 sodders and I left out Thursday morning and stopped on the way at a Golden Corral in Oxford, Al and got to Atlanta after 3. I'm guessing we timed it just right as we were able to get into the parking deck with no issues, get checked in and bags up to the room fairly quickly. As the day went on we stopped by registration and bumped into several friends. That night we went out with friends to Ray’s in the City for sushi.

Friday we learned what the main issue would be throughout the weekend, the elevators. I really can't remember what all we do on Friday beyond getting to meetup with friends and just general hanging out.

Saturday,  sodders and I tried out the breakfast buffet in the hotel. It was great until we got the bill. Expecting 10-15 as usual for hotel breakfast buffets we were shocked to see $22 each! We made it back up to the room to digest before the fursuit parade. I knew the elevators were going to be crazy so we left 30 minutes early. We had to wait 30+ minutes just to get an elevator the wasn't packed beyond capacity and it was going up! So after stopping at every floor, we made it down late to the parade and thankfully they never start on time. First off was the group photo after standing around for 15 minutes, 350+ fursuiters deep under hot lights and loud music. The picture of course didn't look good as all the tall people were in front and blocked everyone behind them. I've given up on those group photos anyway =/ Next was the parade which was not well organized and we had no idea what the route was. It was pretty apparent that FWA was not a very suiter friendly con anymore with the new hotel layout and horrid elevator waits. FWA is a party con for sure which was apparent from all the drunk furs wondering around screaming and cussing (several times in elevators in from of families) at all hours. I have never been to a con that it was this bad. I'm not sure if it was the thickness of the walls or just the hotel layout.

Sunday was another day to hang out with friends, which was great and finally get into the Hard Rock for dinner.

Monday wasn't to bad checking out thankfully except for snippy hotel staff.

So all in all, I really had a so-so con. I really enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones for the first time which saved the trip from being a complete disaster. The hotel was just fucking horrible with the crappy layout and horrible prices on the room and parking. I expect MUCH more for what I payed. I really do hope the decision to change to another hotel is made in the near future. As well, the attendees are just getting worse with no respect for fursuiters (i.e. jumping in front of them in lines for elevators) and the general acting like retarded drunks. I just didn't want to have to go through all of it to go fursuiting again.

Fortunately I'll have a year to decide if I want to go back, but as it stands, I may just try for another con.

Wanted to wish a happy new year to everyone!

Some stuff I wana do in 2013:

-Get a real job. You know one that treats their employees as an asset instead of a liability. I've learned of even more job cuts early next year and no chance of a pay increase for yet another 4 years. Surely there is at least one out there still.

-Get my assets and cash flow in line, payoff some loans/credit cards. I'd like to put away even more money at a faster rate for a larger down payment for a house in the next few years.

-Get to meet more of you guys. I'm glad to have found you guys on FA and hope to meet and hangout with you this year!

-Finish some projects. 2012 kinda sucked so I stopped working on a few projects including props and stuff for my fursuit. I hope to make progress and\or finish them!

I'll keep it short because of the 10,000,000+ other post saying the same thing. I would like to add something tho..


What ever you celebrate or even if you don't, happy holidays and a happy new year. I learned to spend as much time as you can with loved ones and friends as you never know when or if you can again. I lost a long time friend and a feline friend earlier this year to heart issues and this was their most favorite time of year. I can't help think about what things they loved to do around Christmas and would have been like of it never happened.

I am fortunate to have a mate that loves me and I honestly appreciate that everyday. I only hope he know I love him the same. I am also fortunate to have found two of the most sweetest cats at the several months back. They don't take the space in heart my old one did, but rather have a separate place they seem to fill more and more everyday.

So wherever you are  brim and Mischief, I hope you both are having a wonderful Christmas together and here's to the new year! It's been rough and I miss you guys.

I'm so ready for March already!! Need the vacation for sure.
