March of History
Posted 6 months agoI have some vacay time from work coming up, and I'm going to adjust my work habits a bit, and get a few pages ahead on History. I'll start up again on the 16th, hopefully after the staff of FA have ironed out all the kinks. Still forging ahead, never fear.
Looking For Old Art of Mine
Posted 7 months agoHeya! I was thinking someone here might be able to help me, especially all my fellow greymuzzles. I recently found an archive of old VCL files, and found some bits of my own art there that I'd forgotten about. But there's one pic in particular I can't find, that I swore I put up there way back when. It was a pic of Storm of the X-Men as a furry lioness, wearing a blue-and-gold outfit she wore for a while in the comics. This would have been circa 1998. I'm sure I put it online somewhere, if not VCL. Does anyone know this pic? Know where it might be found, or maybe someone has it saved somewhere? The original disappeared from my files ages ago; I'd hate to think it's just lost to history. Any help would be appreciated!
Hundreds of Beavers!
Posted 8 months agoThis is the most relentlessly silly movie I've seen since Kung Fu Hustle. And it's of interest to Furrydom:
This movie is a merciless barrage of goofiness, cheap gags, and general gonzo insanity. And I love it to bits. It's free to watch on YouTube, and a couple other free-with-ads services. Uncle Puppy sez check it out! If this is the sort of thing you like, this is the sort of thing you like.

So Tempting..!

And the price just came down, too! But do I really need another tchotchke to sit on a shelf, even a really nice one? I'll wait and see what my utility bill is this month.

Posted a year agoJames Gunn reveals that Krypto will be appearing in his new Superman movie! The more I hear about this film, the more it sounds like the best Superman movie since Christopher Reeve's first outing.

A damn fine artist who needs more eyes on his stuff (which includes a good rasher of furry/anthro art).

MTG goes furry! Some of that art is just absurdly gorgeous.

Anyone on Cara?
Posted a year agoApparently, it's becoming the popular alternative to DeviantArt these days. I'm thinking about putting some stuff up there. Does anyone here use it? What sort of interface and tools does it have? Is there an audience of any size?
The Return of Ozy and Millie/Milo!

Dana Simpson briefly revisits everyone's favorite fox kits in a strip for "Make a Terrible Comic Day". Apparently, they've been doing a few strips on Bluesky with Milo identifying as a trans boy. Interesting. And fun as always.

History In the Making
Posted a year agoI've been working to get a handle on my comic, and I think I've found the rhythm I've been looking for. It involves a slight format change (I'll be re-doing the last couple pages, but not the whole thing), but I think I'll be able to do two pages a week, and pace the story better. Give me a couple more weeks to get up a little backlog. Hopefully I'll be starting up again for the long haul this time. Thanks to everyone who enjoys the strip for being patient with me. I do NOT want this to be another cliche' busted webcomic.
Furry RPG Alert
Posted a year agoFor those of you so inclined, Time Tails looks like it's going to be fun. Time-traveling kittehs with a tongue-in-cheek 80s vibe. It looks kinda like RiffRaff and the Catillac Cats meet Bill & Ted. I can vouch for Snowbright Studios; they've made other good products I've enjoyed. Chip in, if it seems like your thing!
Bleah.
Posted a year agoComputer issues, story and pacing issues, minor health stuff, workflow and time...I'm honestly *working* on the strip, it's just the work's not producing presentable pages. Please bear with me...
Another Break...
Posted 2 years agoAnd here's me, taking another break from History for the holidays. I'm a tired old man with a day job, knocking this story out one page at a time. I need to find a way to do this at the level I want in less time than I've been taking. I need to rethink my work habits and figure some stuff out. Plus, I just want to do some personal stuff at the holidays. I'll be posting again come the first week of January. My apologies to anyone enjoying my efforts; I swear, I just want to give you my best. Geoffrey and Tixi abide, my word to you.
Ooo-Da-Lolly!
Posted 2 years agoIn case you didn't know, today is the 50th anniversary of the release of Disney's Robin Hood. I saw it first-run in the theater at age nine, and it left a huge impression on me, as I'm sure it did on a lot of us. I daresay that Furry Fandom as a whole wouldn't be quite the thing it is today without it. Happy birthday, oh vulpine Prince of Thieves!
I'll Be Damned..!
Posted 2 years agoWowf! Somebody liked my comic enough to compose a musical theme for it! And it got the comic mentioned on the Drunk Duck Webcomics weekly podcast. Listen at about 4:00 to hear it, it's lovely. I hope my story can live up to it as I go along.

More Damn Stuff
Posted 2 years agoSo. I had an eye exam today; I'm way overdue for a new pair of glasses. And I was told in no uncertain terms that my hours hunched over my tablet drawing are putting considerable strain on my eyes. The fact is, I'm not very far ahead on the strip, so I'm suspending it for a couple weeks. I'll get my new glasses, and take some vacay time from work (I have plenty built up) to get a few pages further ahead. I hate to disappoint anybody, but I am doing the comic mostly for my own satisfaction, and I have to set my own pace. I'm not done yet, honest! Just stuff getting in my way like always...
Custom-Printed Tees and Sweats?
Posted 2 years agoCan anyone recommend a good service that will do custom shirts with my artwork? I recently did an order with Printerval, but I wasn't happy. The transfer was grainy, and doesn't look like it will survive a half-dozen washings. Anyone know of someone who can do higher quality for a decent price?
The Hell They Don't!
Posted 2 years agoWooHoo! Finally, FINALLY, another lost Furry classic makes it to blu-ray! Ladies and gents, I give you Cats Don't Dance! Doesn't look like there's much in the way of extras, but just having the movie in a nice format will be a blessing.
Love It
Posted 2 years agoHave I mentioned how much I love love LOVE the all-purpose Transform Tool in Krita? It makes so many things so much easier! I need all the shortcuts I can get in my old age.

I've been bingeing old issues of Rex the Wonder Dog, a late-50s series from DC Comics with great art by Alex Toth and Gil Kane, and ridiculously astounding stories. Look at these covers! There was nothing that dog couldn't do.
