To finalize everything we have to get out of the country and get him back in... so we're heading down south tomorrow to his hometown and will stay with his family for the weekend.
I won't be online much for the next few days but I am taking some of my commission work with me. See you all when we come back! Have a great weekend!

Biting down the list...
General | Posted 11 years agoSorry for the lack of updates... Things have been busy... I got buried under paperwork in the last few weeks, it was insane O_o
Now that things are back to normal, I can breathe a little and get over the last chunk of WTFur homeworks. I'll be trying to get them done in the next week or so *fingers crossed*
Nothing much to declare beyond that, school's out, the munchkin has started summer camp, next week she leaves for a week with my mom for camping (wohoooo, mommy needs a break sometimes hehe). This week my boss is also off to the state for business so I get to work from home until July 2, this lowers my stress considerably and should make me more productive huzza!

Here are the basic rules of the group and requirements to join... if you want to join poke me
Rules, Informations, etc.
The trades work on a 'secret santa' system - all the participants for the month will be paired up randomly. Participants will then be notified whose character they are drawing. You will only know who YOU are drawing for, not who is drawing for you.
Frequency:
12 trades per year / 1 per month.
Participation:
Members can participate in as many or as few trades as they like. When the announcement for the coming month's trade is posted toward the end of the current month, just post a comment if you wish to participate.
Membership:
We do not want this to be an elite club, but a minimum level of skills will be required. New members will have to send us a link to their gallery and go under evaluation, if you are not able to provide a samples (a gallery with a decent amount) of your work you will be automatically refused. It's pretty important that we know what you can do, since this is an art trades community. So, feel free to send us a request to join, just make sure that there's a link somewhere to some art so we can see what you can do
Quality Control:
Medium can be whatever you please - just draw for others as you would wish them to draw for you. Two-second sketches on lined notebook paper, for example, are not encouraged. However, keep in mind that drawing someone else a three-character photoshopped pic doesn't mean you'll get something of the same complexity in return. Just use common sense.
Non-submission of Artwork
This is a close community of friends. Please post your artwork before the stated deadline. It is not fair for people to miss out because the artist drawing them didn't get their picture done in time.
We're not going to be draconian here. Basically, if you don't submit your half of a trade for one month, you won't be admonished or barred from the community - instead, you'll simply be unable to participate in another round of the trade until you get off your ass and hand in the pic.
If you've missed out on getting a picture, you'll be put up for adoption so someone else will draw you.

Paperwork for o-kemono's immigration have been filled and sent... now it's the wait and see game all over again! I have still to fill more paperwork for me and my daughter to renew our passports... BLEH! But things are going okay, I guess? hehe
You can see at the bottom of this journal my WTFur homework list, I will try to do those in a timely fashion! I will intertwine bigger job (ref sheets, and full illustrations) with smaller jobs (badges, etc.) so don't freak out if I'm not doing them in order and try to understand :)

Delays and what not... please be patient
General | Posted 11 years agoSo while at WTFur we got an email from CIC (Immigration) for o-kemono... asking for 2 more things, 60days deadline again... One of them is the CSQ (Certificat de sélection du Québec). I have to fill a pile of papers... I have to do that in the next days so that we can get the reply in time to send the papers to CIC.
I am hoping my commissioners will understand that this is a high priority right now and may cause delays in my productivity. We all want me to keep my wolf with me right? Thanks for the support everyone, you are all amazing!

WTFur - Con Report... sort of!
General | Posted 11 years agoI took the day off yesterday to get some rest, get back on my feet... Back to work it is for me today, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!
It was an amazing weekend, spent with o-kemono and my daughter doing what we love... thank you for supporting us!
First off to my pre-con commissioners, I'm plan on finishing these this week, you are all so wonderful!
After that I will start tackling the pile of homeworks I got at the convention! You guys were beyond amazing... I got so caught up chatting with everyone that I barely got anything done on site! Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi or buy something! For those of you who bought from me, please bear with me while I work my way down the list!
I would love to list everyone I met and chatted with, there was so many amazing people out there, old friends and new... but that would take forever and I would run out of : icon : thingies XD!
I will although give a small shout to people without whom I wouldn't have survived the weekend:

Can I just get a break???? - RIP Fancy
General | Posted 11 years agoOur third Rat died tonight, Rest in Peace Fancy.
She was my baby ... she was the last one standing...
and she just let herself die after Fluffeh was gone... She stopped eating ...
and now I'm even more heartbroken cause she died alone in her cage
and I was not able to comfort her, since Fluffeh's passing she just wouldn't be handle anymore,
she would freak out and hyperventilate whenever I would pick her up.
I hope she will find peace where she went, she was no longer happy here, it was her choice.
I'll miss you miss fancy pantsy.

Short Hiatus...

Feels like drowning...

and I wanna get out of there (read here start getting stuff done)
but to do that I would need to free myself and find which piece to move first.
I've tried and tried and I can't seem to find the right one,
I keep poking at each piece here and there but every time I budge one a little bit,
it feels like the load shifts and I find myself unable to breathe...
I'm hoping I figure my way out of this mess soon...
I'm starting to freak out a little... *sigh*

RIP Miss Fluffeh
General | Posted 11 years agoMiss Fluffeh passed away minutes ago, her body slowly shut down while we were holding her. May she rest in peace.

Can't focus... one of my ratties is dying...
General | Posted 11 years agoI can hardly focus, one of my rat girls is slowly dying of cancer... discovered a mammary tumor a while back and even if I was to get it removed, it would most likely grow back and at the age she's at, or rats generic lifespan... as sucky as it sounds... it's not really worth it, cause surgery is expensive and it won't really change anything or make her live that much longer anyway.
A few days ago Miss Fluffeh started to have breathing issues ... The tumor on her abdomen is getting bigger and she's losing weight fast... Kind of confirming to me that the tumor she has is not benign and is spreading to her body, I am suspecting she now has a growing tumor on her lungs... I dunno how long she has left but she'll be spoiled rotten until she passes away :(
Her breathing just got worst in the past 2 days, we can hear her struggling to breath from the next room and it just keeps on getting worst... Right now Fluffeh is sleeping on my lap, wrapped up in a rag to keep her warm, every breath is a struggle, it's heart breaking to watch but besides keeping her warm and calm.... I don't know what to do.
We lost Fuzzy my oldest girl at new years and I watched her die in my hands... it's too soon... that was only a few months ago... I'm having a really hard time coping with Fluffeh starting to fade as well, we have a 3rd rat Miss Fancy, and all I can think right now is that in maybe 6months from now I'll be doing this all over again. Just sitting there... watching them die... and there's not really a single thing I can fucking do about it.
I am so heartbroken right now ... so angry... it's not fair...
I can't deal with this... We won't be rats owner once all the girls are gone...
Their lifespan is way too short and I'm too emotionally unstable to deal with it.

Their lifespan is way too short and I'm too emotionally unstable to deal with it.
