Aaaah duuuuudes, this feels good, sooooooo gooooood.

All laid back, maaaaaaaaan. Ok dudes, let me five ya the scoop. For a few weeks, hehe months ago, i applied at some video game studios and graphic design places just trying mah luck wherever i could. One of the shacks called back, duuudes was i stoned, Stonned surprised hahahahahahah!

So for a good month or so i got to work with these dudes, small team but we still got to learn from each other. I cant call them out loud cause, i know how they feel about furs, some of those dudes aren't too open on that idea, to be frank, they don't even know im bi hahahahah, they just know me as that hippie doing penciling for them.

Feels sooo good i tell ya all, quick feedback, people are nice, ya get to look at the colorists work with your penciling((And SPY on their photoshoping techniques HAHAHAHAHAHAH)) and make contacts. Unfortunatly the contract is over so i get to wait out till another project comes up, good time for commissions.

How have all ya dudes been? Are ya still enjoying life !

So we tried studying anatomy, got to a point where we feel a bit more confident but not quite happy. Whats missing? What keeps the empty feeling around? Why don't i feel great about drawing spiffy fox for the 6th time? Everyone gets stuck in THE WALL one time or another. Whats the wall? Its when you know you can work fast and well but you feel something is missing so you don't like what you draw anymore and eventually don't draw at all.

That usually happens because of two non official factors:

The Loophole: "Ive drawn spooge fox 50 times in a row in 45 different poses and outfit"

Or

The Artblock: "I don't know what to draw anymore..."

None official terms, just thoughts but it does happen often and we all shared these thoughts one time or another. Im sure even Davinvi had enough of drawing his 100th life drawing nude model with no reference, at his house, late night.

What to do, what to do?

Lets go back to the basics:

1-Ability to draw sexy bodies thanks to anatomy : Check

2- Ability to draw characters in environments : Huh...what?

3- Ability to tell a story within a drawing: Err....dude...Story?

4-Ability to understand how light falls affects a figure: Oh cmon dude thats not possible.... boulder dash....

5- Ability to draw textures or paint...oh ok ok ok i guess we get the point.

And thats just five out of ten fundamentals theories of drawing.
Now i know what you may be thinking or saying and im sure i have or AM thinking the exact same thing in my head:

"Ive studied this, i don't need to study it again. I know it, kthxbye"

Alright fine, now use it compulsively ahaha in ALL YOUR WORK HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA yes, tiny sketches, fast sketches, quick spooge sketches make sure that knowledge stays in your head and most of all, becomes an automatic reflex. Its harder than it seems so one day at a time dudes hahahah.

What? Still stuck? Oh noes, What to do? How can we win ?!

Maybe trying out new things? playing with some tutorials, trying different approaches. We cant always stick to doing the same thing the same way we always did, right?

Warning: This doesnt mean you should completely change style or approach.

Kinda passing from a Zaush-ish approach to a SolidASP approach. That'll make you even more confused about where you want to go with your style. Ok so you got the anatomy down, why not study some of your favorite artists?

Warning: Study doesn't mean copy and claiming as yours.

Just seeing what you like about certain techniques and integrating it to your approach. Its easy and fun, sometimes trying out other approach will make you land on HAPPY ACCIDENTS, i was so ready to say happy ending....hahahah so yeah, try stuff, play around, have fun even if its hard.

Oh dudes, still stuck with Art block, thumbnail:

-3 x5 no bigger, less than 2 minutes or even faster, anything that comes to mind, for 20 minutes. Dont even think about using that eraser, throw it out the window. Erasers make your Penis smaller. That'll scare you out of that solution hahahaha.

Alright, this is alot to try and explain in a few lines especially since its the morning but i will have a part 2 later tonight about this "theory".

--There is no Furry Artist-- Part 1: Goals higher than the sky.

This attempts to point one's mind into thinking about his artwork OVERALL. I mean, think about it dudes, we learn anatomy, we learn facial expressions, we even try to add perspective, light and shading to make our characters, overall, with extra efforts added into it, we can round off the art fundamentals attempting to do what we like to do. Yet to fully do so, we need to break off from our "lust/likes" and search further to gain further knowledge and skills. In the end there really isn't such a thing as a furry artist, just the artist who's went on and studied to gain more to do the do that they do-do.
In doing so, its no longer about style, characters or whatever, just how far you can push your knowledge of the fundamentals to get what you want, how you want it. The same could be said for certain anime artist.
Its rare, barely seen online but some do think outside the animebox and study to achieve greater levels.

But, liking something too much may sting back

Well im just dropping a note here that ill be mixing my art here. Yep the sand in the Y! gallery mods's vaginas finally reached their peak and my patience with their immaturity reached its limit. I would have left right after Gshok left it but i thought i could give it a chance and i had friends there. I usually don't pay much attention to the net and communities simply cause i tend to sketch all the time, yet some small things managed to make me go --OMFG-- for a couple of minutes, mostly involving FA artists. Small stuff but still a small shock hahaha

1.  zaush and  keovi are a couple. That was a wild discovery but i never knew about it till 2007. Im glad for them, they're made for each other :D

2. mitchdlg is also  madmarten That one broke my brain, ive spoke to both on msn, the similar icon made me go "huh" but the speech manners threw me off the trail. Yet im glad that Mitch is THAT GOOD, to mask himself with another style. It really takes alot of work but im digging both :D

3. wetherby our new FA artist is infact  hmo what gave it away? Faces, lines, bodies covered with none rendered flats and being a big fan of hmo's work in the past. I dig the new work less cause the rendering she had made a big difference but i guess she's experimenting something new. Go Hmo ?

4. jax was a women, don't ask me why but i still went " WHAT ?!" at this one. Possibly cause im too sleep drunk at night. Yet i love Jax's art :D

5.  preyfar was infact  Dragoneer's main character. Well that knocked me back a while, i though he was someone else XD

6. Devvo was 15. Hm........why is this here, well i always liked the devvo cat and well, em...PEDOBEAR approved ;) Nah, he just had this funny picture of is char saying " Im 15, dont get your hopes up or go imagining thing" and i found it funny as hell. Do another one!

Ive been talking alot about it on aim and kinda decided to openly throw out some infos on the game im working on.

The controls will be similar to the old school dragon's lair : A sequence animation starts and you press the right button to dodge the blow/accident or fail and get screwed.
Ive also planned to use a button mashing system where you keep smashing a certain button to break free of something before the health bar depletes or time runs out.

The story is mainly Sphinx's journey within a tribe that doesnt take his warrior abilities seriously due to him not being a pure breed feline and all. He'll basically find himself facing some of the oddest foes in completely weird situations while gaining respect from his tribes man and uncovering a plot against his tribe and homeland.

Seeing FinalFlight's  finalflightjournalhttp://www.furaffinity.net/journal/112536/ on artist being blacklisted for dumb reason i felt i should ventilate a bit on this next subject.

One night, just browsing the net looking for a specific artist which's art was kinda rare for some reason ( i forgot the name its been a few days.) i haoenned to finally stumble upon a page mentioning him (good old google, art stalker's best friend ^.^) yet that page was on Encyclopedia Dramatica. After a few minutes of reading some interesting gay bashing, furry predjudism and poorly written art hating i decided to have a look around this piss excuse for a wikipedia clone and OMFG, what-iiiiiss-this ? I see more pages of gay hating, bad grammar and 50 cents gone artwork type of articles except this time I KNEW THE VICTIMS. Oh you could have felt my blood boiling when i saw how much time these kids had to write full pages of constant drama stories, EVEN TAKING SCREEN CAPS, ip adresses (im not sure thats legal) and links to the artist's various sites. Now guys, i know drama is annoying and some people can spread too often bringing some massive flame wars which just sucks but CMON full webpages and IP TRACKING?! Looks like we have ourself an online drama novel.

Seeing that the article on its own site was somewhat false i decided to make my own version and post it here.

Oh... actually i still have one more topic to ventilate and then ill be stress free.

A while back i had an e-encounter with some troll being angry about my dislike of the war in iraq basically being a dipshit after being explained that Bush was lying from the beginning and that the soldiers have no reasons to be there. After checking his background, i didnt waste more time with him and went on.(A real gun ho) Now recently i went over the Regan administration chapter in English class and that part on the communist hunting kinda reminded me of that troll. Why? Cause some of his journal entry were all about him being a Troll Slayer
and making troll kill count every year. Ironic isnt it? Maybe he could perform "Hara Kiri" on himself and be done with it. Ooookay lets not wish death on people, thats bad karma but sometimes you can come up with pretty funny scripts when you meet oddballs like that. Hi!

Got some minor bad news to say, ive recently switched from 8x14 to 11 x 14 paper for the free sketches thinking it'll give me a keener edge. It did, yet the it my scanner doesnt cover more than 9 x 12. Thank god i only did one sketch on the new size, Arcy, your sketch is done but it might take time to actually upload ((scratches his ear)).
I tried a part per part scanning and was about to piece it up till Photoshop element ate all the memory i had left on my HD so i was left with 4 parts and couldnt pull off any actions.
Also i cant seem to activate the "Automate --> Photomerge" option, it would have been an utter life saver but isnt accessible for some reason, maybe i should register but who knows. As for the rest of the sketches, ill play safe and draw on an 8x11 and evade another struggle.

Im open to all suggestions and i could see if i can find a local net cafe for s.........oh yeah M-rated pics, yeah that'll be hard pass unnoticed hahahahaha

After looking at my entire gallery and evaluating what ive done so far, i kinda have to thank you guys for being such a big help. Seriously, feedback like Anoki's and Antewolf's just make it much easier to advance and bring out a better performance. Yet as of now, ill have to double my efforts, ive barely practiced doing fully toned pictures except in some storyboard so i guess i gotta practice that during the new year. I just want it that badly, at my current stat, commissions arent an option and ill know it might save me during my college semester if i dont get hired for any freelance this summer. So the goal for the end Q1 2007 actual illustrations. Not for FA, not for money, just because i want it.

Dear Cub porn artist.

You know how to life your pencils without spawning an Inuyasha wannabe character on the paper and you got through people's feelings, passion and etc.

Now its time to move on.

You truly think you'll be using your skills to draw cub-porn all your life? Seriously, why not explore other style, techniques, subjects and be a bit more versatile. Pushing your artistic skills further and begin to create new personal stories. I cant stress enough on how thinking outside the average box of art is important, its like sonic fan art, you eventually grow out of it and move to something better. But leaving only shows how insincere you are about your art(in general) and also prooves that you arent tough enought to adapt certain rules and be versatile.

Bah i got nothing more to add for the moment, back to the books.

Gotta apologize to all the watchers, ive been spending way too much time trying to get every pictures to a perfect stage, which never worked cause 1 out of 50 always comes out decent and the ratio raises only as i try more and more times. Quite a lesson ((scratches his face)). I guess ill finally have to post sketches until i can actually use those markers or ps. I still want you guys to blow me away with kick ass critisism cause thats the only way ill ever learn >_< thanks alot of the patience.
