2016 is nearly here. Goals? Projects? Info here!
Posted 9 years agoI'd like to take a moment to directly apologize for the terrible upkeep to my commissioners. I swear I am trying to keep this up and get what I owe out. I am deeply sorry for all of this. I wasn't prepared for workload and retail stress.
With that much said I will not be doing any commissions for a very long time. I might open up once in a while for badges or icons but that is it. I'm going to focus on self projects, character developments, animation projects, and prior commitments I still try to put time aside for. I have not forgotten who commissioned what and I have my list saved. At this point I'm just trying to get it done so I don't stress anymore.
Core study for this year will be animation projects and background art. I'll be posting my findings here, my weasyl account, and my youtube account, all of which follow the spinningpeanut namesake.
What does this mean for you? Well commissioners don't fret! Or fret but not too much I'm a journal not a cop. Hound my ass for the projects I owe you so I can get my art back on track. I've all but given up and I hope you haven't done the same for me.
Fursuit projects will begin starting with Crayon the Dutch Angel dragon and renovations on Pnut v3. A pnut v4 will be in the makings as well with a teddy bear style to the paws and feet this time around for added cuteness.
RMFC report! I had a blast and now have a somewhat pet for Lazer, a bumble bee named Booby. I just wish the memory was as fresh in my mind as it was when I was driving home from the event. All had sort of fled my mind when I found Oliver dead.
I have a new bird! His name is Dusty and he is a sweet as sugar cockatiel, though tough to work with because of his extremely timid nature. He'll be featured in an upcoming animation project to be ready by christmas 2016, which you can see a short wip of that project on my youtube channel along with other unfinished animation projects and one completed test project.
Animations. Now I have been working into getting myself some animation practice throughout the year, when an idea pops into my head I had to rough it out or do a simple animation for it. "Pnut would play any game on earth" is a test where I went back to my starting roots and did just a headshot lipsyncing with minimal effort in all other areas. The rest are wip ideas and testing different animatic and animation fleshing techiques, most failed. I am currently committed to a Warrior Cats MAP to be shown in May where I might have found the perfect way to get my animatics fleshed out into lines and full animation.
So what did I do all year? What happened to the uploads? Why did spinningpeanut's FA just kinda die? To tell the truth I was (still totally am I'm shaking like a leaf typing this) in fear of disappointment to those who purchased a commission due to my lack of commitment to the project, the on and off concentration. The fear has put me on an anxiety trip that has sort of made any sort of activity disappear. "Oh she's drawing this thing but not working on my commission? artistsbeware here I come!" I don't want that to happen but I may have put myself in a hole and bitten off much more I can chew at once. So I am a learning pup. I probably won't take on any commissions of this size again.

Farewell
Posted 10 years agoNot to FA. It's not my farewell. Oliver has passed on. He was caught by a cat and though there were no external injuries he died from the shock. He was a good bird. He could speak many phrases like "Silly bird, Who's a bird, C'mere, Silly bitch, Silly bastard, Fuck that shit, Wanna see my butt, Shit, Hi, Adorable" and many other things that he was still learning. He loved to have his head scritched so very much and made the cutest sound when he did. He was small but he had a big heart. He was my best friend in the whole world and a fantastic companion. I was never alone. Now I have lost him.
Goodbye Oliver. Soar high and free and eat all the millet your little heart desires. Your time was short but you've touched many hearts. Your flock will miss you.

Trouble in toon town!
Posted 10 years agoWhat does this mean for the citizens? Not much really. While moving I realized I misplaced the cable for my tablet. For now while I work on getting a new one (honestly this is becoming a major chore since the cables I found don't work at all) I'll be posting the new fursuit wips. What's that? Pnut's gonna be making new suits?! Is that a chill in hell I feel? Yes! Pnut is getting a FOURTH upgrade! Plus say hello and to another addition to the suit family! She's colorful, she's got teeth, can you guess who? ....wow you're bad at guessing. Blacklight and Crayon will BOTH be making an appearance on the fursuiting scene! Also coming to a con near you (well maybe not but you get the picture) a special punk pussy cat made by my best friend and kitten cousin,

Though a note on these fursuiting feats of awesome. They are only half as awesome. Pnut's losing some fluff. No not her tail or mane. I'm talking around the tummy and waist. Yup I've been losing weight! Pnut's current suit is being hemmed down to size for conventions, however all new suits will not be getting bodies...yet. Lazer is strictly a partial but you'll see a clothed crayon chirping around the place. Blacklight is the biggest challenge yet though. I mean LOOK at all those COLORS! She may not be ready in time for rmfc since my schedule is already packed up hardcore. Her colors are hard to find the right match for. Especially that orange and blue. Gotta find a goldenrod i think.
Anyways I know I've been a bad nut with your arts I owe but as soon as I find the cable I need I can get back to work. I haven't taken any extra commissions on my plate knowing I can't keep up right now. I won't be taking anymore commissions until July. I'll be taking badges exclusively from that point on. Until then *franticlysearchesforthatdamncable!!!!!*

I've been working on arts when I can but right now I have been moved up in work hours again. Still trying to balance work, art, and moving. It's a butt combo. I'll share wip updates with commissioners this weekend when I can. Thank you all for your patience and I am sorry for my absence.
In light of the imvu drama I will be moving my butt to weasyl too so watch me there!

Posted 10 years agoseeing how my conditions are, might be going on three since no medicine is helping my cough. I have a day off work as part of my normal schedule to try and get this hacking under control. If it's not, I am missing out on about HALF of my paycheck. I have bills and food that need to be addressed ;n; why did I have to catch this damn illness? I'm more mad about this than anything. It's gonna be tough, but I have a large goal to meet to catch up on this madhouse of a payschedule.
I am mostly open for badges but if you are willing I would be more than happy to do a painted portrait of your sona! Paintings are limited and will take more time as I need more practice with them.

We're all here cause we're not all there tonight
Speaking of a fever I have a real fever! I don't know what temp since I don't own a thermometer but it's hot. I can barely stand let alone art so give me a few days. I might work on a little bit of painting for self practice but that's if I can make it out of bed. So long story short I'm out of work for a couple of days. Every penny I get is crucial to my survival so I am open for toony badges to cover up those losses. Toony badges specifically for TFF. I won't get to work on them for a few days but hey, there's a good month until then. If you don't want a badge for said convention that's fine too. any badge will do. Let's say $15 for a fully shaded badge. As we get closer to the con I'l open up options for printing and hand delivery but for now it's starting at $15.
The werewolf piece is top priority still so don't worry about it. I'm learning some extra painting skills just for this piece so I can make it look just as good as a $40 commission each character from a top artist. You'll see more wip soon!

Posted 10 years agoYou see depression posts several times a day. I know it gets old. I skip over these myself unless it's someone I am deeply concerned for. But if I have somehow caught your attention I'd like to spill out my heart.
I don't cry anymore. Well I haven't cried hard in a good while since I came to colorado. The last big cry I had was with the death of Toby. Well I'm facing financial issues that are driving me to put tears on my pillow during sleepless wee hours such as these.
I can't rely on myself for commissions. I'm just not good enough yet. Can't make fursuits for other's for the same reason.
I work with office depot. Unless you are desperate like me don't work there. It's minimum with very few part time hours. Only if you work in awful pay conditions with no benefits at all and so few hours (13 hours right now for me) until the time you get promoted to a manager which could be years. Many other companies follow the same practices. It's making finding a living wage job extremely hard. I have been abusing my mate to take care of me so I don't live on the streets again. It has been years since I've wanted to kill myself, but this time it's for very different reasons. This time it's not to escape the torment of family. This time it's to lift a burden off the ones I care for the most. I have no job skill sets that are living wage worth in this country. I flunked out of high school and can't go to uni. I'm losing faith in the world. There is no place without extreme flaws to their government. The only thing I wish is for my mate's freedom to fulfill his dream. I'm done nothing but hold him back.
I only wish I could be paid to fursuit... it's the only thing I might be ok at.

Painting Practice leading up to....
Posted 11 years agoA giant high res werewolf drawing. I am redrawing it from scratch to get it right. I am still working on it. There's gonna be some new things done with it. I didn't forget. Work's been taking a huge toll on me is all. It's been very stressful and the hours don't work well for my art. I keep trying to destress and actually make my art look good again. No luck with that. I swear I am just so stressed out I end up crying more than I need to. Please forgive me for my slowness in getting this done. My brain is fried like a burnt egg.... that's on fire.

Posted 11 years agoSooo my pen nib ran down and I went to go get the box my tablet came in to get another nib but I realized that I threw the box out while in a super tired state and cleaning. Sooo I had to wait for payday, today, to buy more nibs, so next week I can actually draw stuff x.x i went to go draw a warm up while trying to copy cat lion king style or at least practice my big cat faces and feral body shapes. FML

Posted 11 years agoI'll be in tears for a while due to an old friend of mine. I just can't take it when I get lashed out at because I couldn't say a thing to them to help them. I still cry over those I can't talk to. I still want them to be happy. I still miss all of you who helped me during my time of need. Those of you who were there for me when I was homeless, just to be someone to talk to while I slept in mc donald's parking lots so I could still get wifi signal. We don't talk, but we should.

Posted 11 years agoThe vet couldn't find a break in his foot but she found an extra bruise up under his feathers on his leg. He's got some medicine for the pain and swelling and he'll be ok. The bill was $97. I had some cash with me to take care of the difference. Thank you guys. <3

Posted 11 years agoI had just so much fun. I met so many amazing friends and fans a like. Just the amount of love I felt had me in tears. It felt like a dream that I never wanted to wake up from.
So Friday I caravaned all the way up to denver with my bud
imdoinflipsnlsh and I totally beat him. He said he was going 5 over but I don't believe him cause so was I. It was a fun race but the winner was inevitable. So then after I parked (everyone was double parking over the lines so when there was an "empty" space it wasn't really empty.) I got my badge and suited up! I walked around with 
bonfirerave and the gang in suits, shaking everyone's hands going "Hi I'm Tom!" and got lots of pictures and stuff taken of us. I ran into all sorts of people and I turned my other friend 
jchan1e into a packlizardmule to carry my stuff. Or as tachy calls it, a "baggage bitch." So then I went and did fursuit things more and more, karaoke, swimming, got cider yums, noodles n co, and OH MY GOSH I was amazed at how many people liked my suit. I met another toony artist 
tweeko and I just love her stuff! I hope to be just as good one day. Grumped around a lot and went to bed a happy fluff. But first I gotta tell you a story about the amazing grey fox and how he is an awesome driver! So we went on a late run to get burgers and mc d's and some either stupid or drunk asshole turned left..... into the leftturn lane we were in. Did we crash? No. Our awesome fox got out of the way before we went into a head on. Kid's only 16! He did so awesome and was so perfect in that manuveur that both us and the asshole were spared. Did I mention there was a median so the asshole couldn't go into the right lane he was supposed to go into?
Saturday was so awesome. I went and bought things in the dealer's den like more car stickers and some soap. Then soon was to be the fursuit parade! The parade was so fun, as usual. Then the human and fursuit games. They shoved us into a teeny tiny room for that. With 30 fursuiters it didn't work at all and it was waaaay too hot. In fact all of saturday was waaaaaay too hot. So I talked to a sweet bunch of guys after for a long time. I won't forget that chat <3 was was so awesome and I was touched what the gal said to me and my fursuit performance. I'm tearing up right now of just how nice she was. I will never forget it. I will keep being the best fursuiter I can be for her. So after that I went to walk around and see 2's performance. To those who were minors you didn't miss a lot. Trust me. The real fun began at the Adult Fursuit Charades. But we were again crammed into the smallest room possible. People were lining up around the corner just to see this event and with 20 fursuiters in there it was a boiling hot sauna. It had to have been 100 F in the room. I was in a partial i'm not just stretching truths. I was sweating so bad and I felt so horrible for the fursuiters that were in fulls. I was scared they were going to pass out. Then that hilarious improv group right after and I never laughed so hard that evening! Anal bleaching XDDD. So then I went and watched pirates with the roomies and we went night night.
Next day I lost my fan's battery pack v.v;..... I took off my suit and left it in the game room for my friend Matt to watch while he watched the brawl tournament and when I got my suit back the battery pack wasn't with it. Who ever has it, if I never get it back, I hope they at least have it in the back of their mind that it was a fursuiter's battery and I hope they enjoy the sweat smell on it. Also I hope if I don't get it back that it stops working on them.
Sunday I was catching falling fries from a balcony!
"hey Pnut!"
"hey! What do you want?"
"We're eating!"
"I want some!" (keep in mind I always say this around food, candy, drinks, etc)
"You want some fries?"
(about to burst into laughter)"Sure!"
And that's the story of how I got a handful of fries from someone tossing them down from a balcony.
Also I am in love with the caffeine soap! It smells great and it does work! I don't understand how but somehow it wakes me up! I quite enjoyed the con. I really will miss it for the next year and the PCD has returned this year. I never quite felt it bad after my 2nd year but it returned. I don't know how. God I will miss it and all of you. I hope I can go to more cons but it looks unlikely that I will be able to attend MFF and TFF this year. I will try, I loved those cons. I want to go to them all. I don't know how you guys get that sort of time off. I'm looking at you
