Posted 14 years agoToday I woke up at 1pm CST :D I went to bed the night prior at around 11pm.
When I got into work around 1:50, I took my pills:

I had with a clove of raw garlic, a V8 low sodium and a bowl of Fiber One Original + 1cup 2%milk.
Prepped my half packet of Pro Performance Lean Muscle Meal, then waited a while before heading out to the gym. Went around around 4:30pm, ended about 6:40pm.

Went inside for a cool down before starting my run. I took my 2x Pink Magic, 1x Horny Goat Weed and my second dose of D4 (granted it was early I don't recommend doing that) along with a Natures Valley Oats N Honey bar. I started my Weight Vest (20lbs) run at 7:30pmish. Finished it up at 8:15pmish. I shoulda kept better track of the time, but the sun + humidity had me walking a bit on this jog. I usually don't walk..... it was hot. Total distance was somewhere in the range of 3.5-4.5 miles, I didn't have my droid with me to measure, as I knew I'd sweat alot.
When I finished running, prior to my shower, I downed a 2tblesppon dose of Tropical Oasis with a few pieces of Jack Links Beef Jerky 3.25oz and 2 bottles of water.
I took the evening dose of 2x Pink Magic and 1x Horny Goat Weed at 10:30pm while writing this up. I finished off the bag of Jack Links Beef Jerky 3.25oz with it. And I know I should have eaten more today, but I guess It'll make up for extra's I had at Applebees ( I had the icecream Cookie as an appetizer, with an oreo shake, then ate a double patty chedder burger with chili cheese fries, and a basket of onion rings on Thursday).
My back is starting to get really big, I'm thinking about dropping weight down a bit to just stay toned at this point.

I did not want to risk getting sore/pulling muscles in my back/shoulders while trying to fire weapons today otherwise it would have been a full workout.

My Workout Routine - I Change it up Randomly
Posted 14 years agoFigured I'd post a journal about what I do as a routine for working out.
I'd like to start off by making a confession. In my line of work I'm required to meet certain "requirements" every 6months or so. What I've done for the last 5 years is start working out hard, with supplements about 2 months out from one of these milestones. The day of the milestone, right after passing, I usually take a group of us at work, and we go gorge ourselves at IHOP, as a celebratory indulgence. I then splurge for 4 months, exercising little while eating as much of whatever I want. Repeat the cycle. I always made the mark, though there were 2 close calls about 4 years ago, body changes and you have to adapt.
About 2 years ago I wanted to start working out hard again and get my body prepped for bodypainting, it sounded fun and had "other"applications. I'd been starting my workout sessions a month earlier, turning into a 3month splurge, 3 month workout routine. I didn't stick to it though. I kept not working out hard enough to keep the calories off, I'd always regain the weight I lost doing the harder workout periods. So it was put on, shed, put on, shed cycle all over again just different length of periods for each.
Essentially I re-motivated myself with the iksar bodypaint suit I designed off of watching Alex Kovas on youtube and
lyonlover at FC/AC. Though that motivation, while strong, wasn't strong enough to endure alone. I've since gained the extra motivation to work out coupled with the bodypainting concept, things like better fitting clothes, more strength in the bedroom, more sex appeal with people, upward progression at work (finally looking for a promotion) and all around I like the intimidation factor that goes with it.
I will contribute a bit of credit to
Iceman for some tips, supplement suggestions and ideology that he's shared with me, and his continued words of encouragement, he's an awesome guy and knows his stuff good. I'll also contribute a little more credit to
lyonlover, as seeing him in costume in person makes me want an iksar body paint more and more, and to do that I need to tone my muscles back up.
I'd like to point out that I did weight lifting my sophomore - senior years in high school, as well as off an on sparraticly throughout most of my life. I've a large frame to work with and the muscles have at multiple points in my life been tweaked and perky, I just have a real problem with food. It's the addiction I cannot kick and coupled with video games and computers as a job.... well I don't burn a lot of energy daily ;p Though I'm not obese, just well padded.
I practiced several forms of martial arts from the age of 14 till around 28, that used to keep me thin and toned. Having stopped attending formal sessions has been a detractor for me. At one point I was practicing in 9 classes a week and teaching in 4. I believe if I could rekindle my fire for MA I could look like
beowulf this guy is ripped :D

I do ab workouts every day, irregardless, but normally only do weighted abs every other day.

Oh and one supplement I recommend to EVERYONE is Tropical Oasis, it's a colloidal mineral water, with amino acids, vitamins and in some varieties, additional herb extracts. I use it on days I eat very little, to ensure I get my nutrition. I use half a cap on days I eat normally or heavy.
I'd like to start off by making a confession. In my line of work I'm required to meet certain "requirements" every 6months or so. What I've done for the last 5 years is start working out hard, with supplements about 2 months out from one of these milestones. The day of the milestone, right after passing, I usually take a group of us at work, and we go gorge ourselves at IHOP, as a celebratory indulgence. I then splurge for 4 months, exercising little while eating as much of whatever I want. Repeat the cycle. I always made the mark, though there were 2 close calls about 4 years ago, body changes and you have to adapt.
About 2 years ago I wanted to start working out hard again and get my body prepped for bodypainting, it sounded fun and had "other"applications. I'd been starting my workout sessions a month earlier, turning into a 3month splurge, 3 month workout routine. I didn't stick to it though. I kept not working out hard enough to keep the calories off, I'd always regain the weight I lost doing the harder workout periods. So it was put on, shed, put on, shed cycle all over again just different length of periods for each.
Essentially I re-motivated myself with the iksar bodypaint suit I designed off of watching Alex Kovas on youtube and
lyonlover at FC/AC. Though that motivation, while strong, wasn't strong enough to endure alone. I've since gained the extra motivation to work out coupled with the bodypainting concept, things like better fitting clothes, more strength in the bedroom, more sex appeal with people, upward progression at work (finally looking for a promotion) and all around I like the intimidation factor that goes with it.I will contribute a bit of credit to
Iceman for some tips, supplement suggestions and ideology that he's shared with me, and his continued words of encouragement, he's an awesome guy and knows his stuff good. I'll also contribute a little more credit to
lyonlover, as seeing him in costume in person makes me want an iksar body paint more and more, and to do that I need to tone my muscles back up.I'd like to point out that I did weight lifting my sophomore - senior years in high school, as well as off an on sparraticly throughout most of my life. I've a large frame to work with and the muscles have at multiple points in my life been tweaked and perky, I just have a real problem with food. It's the addiction I cannot kick and coupled with video games and computers as a job.... well I don't burn a lot of energy daily ;p Though I'm not obese, just well padded.

Probably still missing a few names :( why am I always so busy/overcommitted!
Had a total blast at AC even though I went emo (never done that before :/) It's nice to have people who can pull emotions out of me even if they are ones I'd rather not have!
Iceman's birthday party at Zentrin's was more epic than I ever thought it would be, his journals and others comments really don't do it justice!
I owe 3 journals to the FA community at this point, as well as my friends, one for AC, one for Ice's birthday and one explaining why I commission (some people noted me inquiring). I'm hoping to get those done up, posted and over with prior to my trip down to the Texas Furs next week.

Posted 14 years agoI've done pretty good at hiding from/avoiding being in pics/vid at cons, I'm pretty camera shy. But I think this year, there was no way to avoid it completely. I've never seen so much equipment in one place ever, all ranging from smart phones to top end video recorders. If you stole my soul please note me about the images/vid so I can go see ;p

So while it looks like the certification may happen soon, I still have trouble swallowing a political figures words, even though he's still in the service, as that's exactly why they were hired. I only hope that his words are TRUE and not just trying to suave people.
Resistance still incoming heavily from within congress. Hopefully not heavily enough, or fast enough to stop/hinder the process already in play.
Personally I want everyone to have the freedom to choose, without fear of retaliation, or fear of job/life. So I'm backing this wholeheartedly!

"Thanks for the Watch" explanation...
Posted 14 years agoLOL I really didn't think this needed explaining, but apparently, it does.
Why do I remove them? Because I saw an artist post a journal telling people that if they saw "Thanks for the Watch" they'd remove them as fast as they saw them. I stopped and pondered about it for a bit, and realized, that for the most part, I agreed with the artists stance on the removal of them. I really don't do it to be an ass or conceited.
The reasons I don't keep them cluttering up my shouts, is because... I see it as an unwritten automated response mechanism on FA. It has no real meaning. Someone see's someone watched them and they immediately go shout "Thanks".... why? Why not shout something less automated, less like every other shouts out there? I feel sorry for galleries I run by and the entire shout page is filled with "Thanks for the watch"...... It means they were spammed, or no one felt like leaving a real comment. I'd rather have real comments visible for people to read. Something with more.... substance, depth, meaning, background, etc.
I admit I've removed a few shouts that had more to them than just "Thanks for the watch" but all in all I decided that the core of the shout, was just that... "Thanks for the watch" with extra padding trying to look obvious at typing it, but also typing just a tad more.
A friend made a few points that I can see, but don't necessarily agree with. He said alot of the people who write it, just want to be noticed, and start a conversation. Well... if that's the case, go shout something actually signifying you want a conversation, not just a drive by thanks. He also said that people who do it, probably are pressed for time and that's all they have to give while trying to friendly. I just don't see anyone who can only type that, even bothering with clicking to the page, typing the shout and hitting submit ;p. Though I suppose it makes sense that a few may be like that.
I'm not saying praise the characters, art or such, I'm simply saying I don't want those cluttering up my shout page. I also don't go around thanking for watches, primarily because when I do find time to do such, I'll comment on art in the gallery. I don't do watchbacks, as I already have lots of art/journals to sort through each day. So I apologize if that's a bit selfish. Sometimes I will toss a note, but mostly it's just comments on journals/submissions.
As to the whole starting a conversation reason..... I've had people try to start conversations in notes, and that really doesn't work well at all. I in fact, still have a bunch of notes that are awaiting me to reply to them :(. I already have tons of people in my messengers, so I'm not handing those out. And while I'm strongly contemplating going to a real email account for art/business, if I post it up, it's not going to be there for meeting new people.
I do most of my people meeting at cons, AC and FC. AC may be coming off my attendance list due to it's ...... size, cost and issues. More of the people I know already go to FC, many do both. I also tend to meet people in streams while I'm out artist hunting or simply watching artists work.
I'm not trying to be a hermit, but when people try to reach out, I really do feel bad when it takes me weeks to months to respond, or I have to reply with busy right now maybe later, and later never comes.
So I'm NOT saying don't send notes, and I'm not saying don't shout, I'm just trying to explain why I remove "Thanks for the watch". I think shouts are really a waste of coding on the site to be honest. Though some people put them to good use. A really under/mis- utilized function.

Anyone know if she's still around? Sure looks like it but she has no new journals since Sep 2010, and no responses since before then. She does have some tattoo pictures she posted in March 2011, the most recent activity.

Posted 14 years agoThis guy keeps popping up posting "Boohoo, I hate your character" comments on artists submissions of my character, and apparently other people's characters he has issues with.
Saw another comment of his on Fenrir's scraps today and it looks like this guy goes out of his way to hunt art of Ssvanti down, comment it on and just be his usual ass self for no other reason to start drama.
I have no idea why he picked Ssvanti to target, but Ssvanti isn't the only one, this guy has.... a vendetta for basically anyone who commissions more than him.
My assumption would be he's unhappy with his life, how things are going, can't seem to find the right choices to make the changes he needs for himself, and would rather vent on a web based site where people pretty much leave him alone.
Feel free to read his own thoughts on his life and how it's going for him, as well as what he's trying to use as an excuse for his choices/actions both in life and here on this site, I personally found it rather.... concerning... I'd honestly hope he'd go see a doctor soon.

Now this isn't a bash Journal, I'm trying to rally people to go check him out and see if you can become his friend. I think the absolute best thing in the world for him right now is to have a friend. And I'm hoping someone not on his target/hate list can become his friend and give him someone to talk too and help him make the .... right choices.
So if you want to do something astounding this year, you know before the world ends for the 3rd time...... make a new friend and be a true friend to that friend!
I'd do it myself but .... sheesh... the guys really not liking my leezurd, for really silly reasons, and that kinda puts a damper on things.
So lets turn a frown upside down, and do something positive to help this guy out!

Posted 14 years agoI'm still attending AC, but I've been informed as of today, that AC will be without my suit. So while I was hoping to at least unveil the mask at AC, that appears to be no longer possible.
So while I'll be sad about that, I'll just have to look forward to FC2012 for the big first, assuming I get to attend.
I suppose I should be happy I get more time to find someone to make the tail, and find a clothes maker to make the 2-3 sets of threads for the final costume as well, but I'm still down about not even having the mask for AC.
So to anyone hoping to catch glimpses, sorry to disappoint. Still only currently planning on FC and AC in 2012, and I may be nixing AC, as it seems to me, to be too large of a convention, and with them closing off the roof last year I'm sure they'll figure out more things to take away from the con goers because of idiots who can't control themselves. If I do remove AC from my list, I'll see about finding another convention to attend.

That's the journal where I was attempting to collect new methods of contacting the artist.
Since he's unreachable by anyone and PayPal refused to allow me to file a dispute due to the window having expired quite some time ago, I did a charge back. I encourage all the others who at this point, gave him money to charge it back. If you didn't use a credit card, but rather used your bank account you can ask your bank for their policy and see if the bank will charge back.
The only reason for posting this as a new journal is because the edit on the old one, doesn't show up to anyone, and I want to make sure people know how I resolved this.
But as I stated in the last journal. If he ever shows back up and presents the artwork, completed and to standard of his quality along with the commission requirements I'll VERY HAPPILY reverse the charge back. If the charge back can't be reversed I'll shoot him another payment in full for services rendered.
I'll give him a little more time before adding to my list of bewares, though at this point I honestly don't believe there will be a change in the situation.

This is a call out to anyone that knows him or can actually get a hold of him. Have him contact me. I've sent him plenty of notes, that have gone unread for too long. Additionally, one of his two paypal address cannot be emailed. The other has been used with no reply.
I've attempted contact through his msn chat with no response.
I just want to find out the status on the project as well as my personal commission. I'd rather get in contact with him and figure out what's going on. It's always my preferred method of dealings.

Ok so here's a status update for anyone who is owed artwork from him.
I've received no replies from any of his contact emails, chats or acquaintances. I've been extremely patient long enough.
I filed a PayPal dispute today on the two transactions, and was told by PayPal that I was outside my dispute window, which was expected. Since I attempted that first, and was denied, I filed a charge back on the card used. The card has already issued me a refund in full for the amount withdrawn.
This will be my very first charge back on an artist, ever. I'm not happy about it. But if Tenebear is willing to provide the artwork commissioned, I will gladly reverse the charge back.
So again I've been trying to contact him through notes/email/chats/PayPal and all methods available to me with no response since 15August2011. So unless there's a note I missed in my archive folder, that's the absolute last response from him to me.
I would at this point recommend anyone who gave him money and also can't get a hold of him, to file your disputes/charge backs. I'll give him a little more time to respond before doing any artist beware posts, as this might be the nudge that gets a reply.
This situation is very... depressing and is not the course of action I wanted to take.

I filed a PayPal dispute today on the two transactions, and was told by PayPal that I was outside my dispute window, which was expected. Since I attempted that first, and was denied, I filed a charge back on the card used. The card has already issued me a refund in full for the amount withdrawn.
This will be my very first charge back on an artist, ever. I'm not happy about it. But if Tenebear is willing to provide the artwork commissioned, I will gladly reverse the charge back.
So again I've been trying to contact him through notes/email/chats/PayPal and all methods available to me with no response since 15August2011. So unless there's a note I missed in my archive folder, that's the absolute last response from him to me.
I would at this point recommend anyone who gave him money and also can't get a hold of him, to file your disputes/charge backs. I'll give him a little more time to respond before doing any artist beware posts, as this might be the nudge that gets a reply.
This situation is very... depressing and is not the course of action I wanted to take.

First off, NO I'm not looking for some plushy tail or paper mache.
My initial intent is for a silicone tail with a body harness and silicone flaps that can be adhered to my skin then painted over to hide the seams with a "support" that the tail was molded on to keep it connected to the harness. Sturdy enough to run in.
Other concepts I'd be open for but seriously, no plushy, no fur tail, no paper mache. The person I was going to have make it, told me to hire a professional company. I'm not really aware of any. Anyone know one that can work with this type of tail?

Posted 14 years agoSorry I'm just really excited. I just bought my very first "new" auto. Really feeling exhilarated!
My first car purchase was a used unfortunately, and I've been driving it for quite a few years. Never really cared much about cars. They get me here to there, possibly back ;p
Since the old klunker has been failing more and more, now only getting 75ish miles on a half tank of gas (18gallon tank), I figure it's about to die. So I had to look at a replacement.
Looking at options, the only cars I was dying to get a hold of were absolutely out of my price range, so I had to do a bit of compromising to find suitable candidates. So after double checking my credit scores, credit record, accounts, savings, etc, and asking several people I work with about their recent new car purchase experiences, I laid a plan out to get one that suited me.
I started off looking at Lexus, but found that to get what I really wanted out of the car, I'd be over budget after figuring in insurance, fuel, maintenance, etc. So I did some searching for cars that were like Lexus but cheaper. This brought me to the Hyundai Sonata.
Here I found everything I would be happy with, in a car, meet budget, and not put myself into a hole/bind. Using the wonderful tools available I found a few lots that had the models/drive trains I was interested in, in the color I wanted (Black on Black).
After requesting the quote, I got a few responses, and selected one that had the options I wanted, along with upgrade possibilities.
So after a long day in the lobby, waiting on financing I was happy to sign for a Hyundai Sonata SE Turbo, black on black :D (even though a bit of finagling had to happen)
I was so relieved when I made it to the dealership in the PoS klunker they were giving me trade in on, without having it die on the way :D The drive back home was pure bliss! The audio system rocks, everything controlled on the steering wheel was just too convenient and the ride was so comfortable!
The really awesome part about this, is the fact that I can now just drive myself to cons, instead of relying on air trans or other people! I won't have to worry about what I pack or how to get all of what I want to take to fit into certain small dimensions under certain weights. So the Iksar suit/supplies will be EASY to deal with!
So while I may slow down on newer commissions, this overall means less out of pocket for cons/travel, no more 400-500 plane tickets :D Also gives me the freedom to extend my stay or shorten my stay without being penalized by the airline.
I'm very happy :D

Body Paint - Body Painting: Attempt Take 2
Posted 14 years agoOk going to try again. I'm looking for "RECOMMENDATIONS" on paint. That's it. I prefer the recommendations come from people that have USED the paint, or at least have helped someone with the paint they recommend, IE used/tested/seen the durability.
I'm already WELL versed on the issues with paint, paint with amonia, paint with lead, paint with alcohol, paint with etc.
I've already made my mind up, I did so before the last journal, I made it last year when I hired Fydbac to make the mask and the prosthesis. I'm not looking for alternatives, I'm not looking sideeffects I'm already aware of. Just in LONG lasting, hard to remove paint recommendations.
So if you have used, or were with someone using body paints, please make a recommendation on the brand/type here.
Please make sure it's a long lasting type that won't just rub off or crack/peel if the wearer sweats.

The major part of the costume will be my natural body, painted up to look like Ssvanti, after adding the prostheses and mask.
One of my worries is the paint. I'm NOT even remotely worried about suffocation etc, so please disregard any commentary on that issue.
What I am concerned with is, the durability/lasting of the paint. I'm looking for something that will NOT rub off (ie if someone brushes against me in a crowded area), or if I decide to sit down, I really don't want to leave paint on the chair/couch/floor/walls.
So I need a paint that will not come off, even if I'm perspiring. I need something that will literally stay on for days, unless I use the proper remover product in the shower with scrubbing.
I've read up on a few brands, but most articles and reviews of the paints I've researched show they will come off more easily than what I desire.
So anyone with body paint experience, research, etc please respond to this :D
I'm really hoping for product recommendations, with detailed information regarding your experiences with the paint, not just a link to a site selling paint.

Spring Cleaning - very minor updates.
Posted 14 years agoWell, I started cleaning up my userpage. I felt it a bit cumbersome, and some of the stuff listed has been archived or deleted. I'm having a little more assistance with my Character Reference and Commission Policy. I've been meaning to re-write both now for months.
I won't be taking down any art. I don't believe anyone ever really has to worry about that. I bought the art to share, not just to enjoy myself. Though I may move some of the submissions to scraps, I haven't decided yet on just what would qualify. If I move something you, as an artist made for me, from submissions to scraps, I ask that you not take it to heart. I very much enjoy the art that I have commissioned and it is not out of disrespect, resentment or dislike of the art that I move it.
AC is coming soon, just not soon enough. Hoping to run into friends, artists and generally anyone I haven't met yet :D I am especially hopeful to meet in person a few particular people I've had the pleasure of chatting with and just never had the opportunity to meet.
I've bought more of the supplies needed to finish my Iksar Mask and Fydbac has been doing a magnificent job with it! Seriously, she is one artist, that if you haven't yet, you NEED to commission her in some form or another. She is an extremely mutli-talented individual and VERY fair for her prices.
DJ_mixer uploaded pages from his TMNT comic that debuted last year in one of the Doujinshi, and was released in pamphlet format at FC2010 I highly encourage people to go check it out.
Haven't really had a chance to contact all the artists with outstanding art yet, though more art is getting completed, I'm sure you've noticed as those artists upload to their galleries. I'm pretty far behind in uploading it here, and for that I apologize.
As to why I'm still so busy, for those that care, I've been hitting the certification track hard. My employer requires these pieces of paper to show a minimum level of competence, knowledge and ability. Luckily they also pay for the training and the exams, so my only true investment out of pocket is time.
I've completed my self study for CompTIA's Server+. This included reading the CompTIA recommended material, doing subject studies on wiki, hitting vendor sites for memory, mobo's, CPU's, other hardware/storage and the NOS's to ensure I had the latest information since most of the books/articles were well outdated. I've been managing servers for some time so most of the material was review for me. I should be taking that exam shortly, just waiting for the voucher.
I'll be moving back into the CCNA study mode at this time. I've been through the 4 base semesters a few years back, kept up on most of the material since. I need to revisit sub netting, IPv6, CIDR, VLSM and specifications (like hold down timers, hello times, etc) of routing protocols. I've been managing a small LAN over the last 3 years, and assisting a larger company with their LAN for a bit longer. I figure it's just time to finally nab that piece of paper since I've been doing the job and my employer is willing to foot the bill. I might push into the CCNA/Security or CCNP arena's shortly after.
On track for later this year, I should be going back to nab the Windows7 MCITP. I already have the Server Administrator and it can't hurt a resume to have both the server/client sides of the house.
After that I still have to figure out when I'm going to get my last 50 credits to complete my bachelors, work toward the VCP as well as CompTIA Linux+ (for fun).
Employer has informed me I need to start prepping for my CISSP and CEH as well.
So while things aren't ever dull, I always seem to have something in the queue. The positive side, is once I get all that done, and they put more on my plate I should be fairly competitive for those higher paying positions, meaning I can see about hiring more artists at a time ;p
