Posted 16 years agoHey, just wanted to let you know new stuff is on the way, starting with some Ice Age 3 fanart. I really wish I would stop falling off the radar like this, but this time it's kind of legitimate. I spent a good 11 days in California with my mom and step-family for Christmas and New Year's, and just put aside the furry mentality for awhile to focus on my family. This unfortunately has the adverse affect of causing me to feel daunted by the general "catching-up" I'll have to do with artwork and friends/acquaintances, which often only prolongs my return.
But you guys have always welcomed me back with open arms :3

Posted 16 years agoSo, I asked another girl out at work yesterday. Quite the cutie too! Chubby and kind of shy :3 But, per usual, she's already seeing someone (or lied and is not interested). "At least I got it off my chest," I laughed. Really, It's better than actually dating someone only to find out her father is hillbilly-rage dad. That was not fun. But now I'm 0-5.
The fact that I'll eventually have to reveal all this furry stuff is a daunting prospect in itself that often makes me feel a relationship could only end badly, but it's getting easier to say "Whatever. We'll do it live!" and just get that first step out of the way. I'll worry about that when I come to it. But no, every single female ever is already happily dating someone else.
...Ok maybe that's a BIT of a hyperbole. But still!

Seeing as how, in my sparse use of Windows Live Messenger (MSN Messenger as I know it), it became filled with names and emails I don't even recognize, and because the account is attached to an email no longer in use, I created a new email address for messenger [ deluxe.starman[at]gmail.com ]
The account and email will be solely furry related as well, so you could like, send me pornographic fan art via email if you felt so inclined without fear of getting me fired or anything! Not that I currently HAVE a desk job, but still.

Shortly after getting over my Dynasty Warriors 6 addiction, I broke down and bought a PS3 after hearing rabid ravings from my friend about the game Demon's Souls. It sounded REALLY awesome, and there was a good sale so I got them both!
Prior to that I installed Windows 7 on my computer. Ees nice! Unfortunately I hafta reinstall everything, including Photoshop and the like. But before that I had to get the Internet working, and install program drivers, and you know how that goes. Plus my PC had accumulated lots of dust and shut down on me a few times during this process (that problem is now solved).
And so it goes that a picture that should have been finished WEEKS ago remains undone. It certainly didn't help that every time I sat down at my computer I thought "Hmm, well I could sit here and watch loading bars... OR I could play feckin' DEMON'S's'sS SOuLS!"
Yeah, I'm really an instant gratification sorta guy...
Oh hey, Photoshop just finished installing!
... Time to go play Demon's Souls!

Posted 16 years agoWell Rainfurrest was fun. I have to say, much nicer than the first one! I ran into old friends and acquaintances (and had one of those mutual "Wow, you're a furry? I had no idea!") moments with som'un. Bought some nice porn (spending more than I probably should, but eh) and topped it off with insight on Adobe Illustrator, which I may soon try my hand at.

Long have I wrestled with this fact, originally under arguments of morality and god a few years back, but now almost strictly on the less clouded topic of how it affects my work ethic, and occasionally on what harm this could cause long-term on the social front. I honestly think, thanks to a powerful libido, that self-made and/or discovered porn (yes, often times my own porn ... /narcissism) coupled with masturbation has become, for me, TOO pleasurable. Heck even without porn my mind can go to town and spend its mind-money on all sorts of mind-candy at increasingly exotic and bizarre mind-stores.
I do not feel obsessive about recapturing this feeling. More so, I simply feel through repeated exploration, my overall perception is altered into one more detached, and even aloof. It's like "Yeah, that sounds fun, but you have no idea how much fun you COULD be having."
Wait. Ew. Why am I talking about this? Oh, I'm on FA, that's right. ^_^
So, I guess what I'm saying is, I need to broaden my horizons! By which I mean... I need a mate? XP. First off, I'm gonna cut down on the porn. ...Don't worry, I'll still be making it for you guys! I'm slow is all. :p
Anyway, enough introspection! I gotta go somewhere!

Posted 16 years agoJust letting watchers know, I just got back from visiting California for my mom's wedding. It hasn't really sunk in yet that my extended family just got a heck of a lot bigger.
I'll be here tomorrow and the next day, then I'm heading out on Wednesday to see an old grade school friend until the start of August.

Just lettin' ya know I'm still around. Or rather... back around. I hadn't been checking FA during my last stretch of school (Furry has and will always be secondary to my career goals) and so established a new routine without it, slowly forgetting the appeal I had felt back when I first started. There was also a girlfriend situation that facilitated this, which ended badly but I won't get into that. I also basically didn't draw anything but the occasional storyboard for schoolwork, and so now feel pretty rusty with that. So, yeah, I completely fell out of touch. But I miss it, and I'm coming back!
I've decided to start drawing a little bit each day (like I always should have been) to ease back into it. Note that since graduation I am working full time while applying for animation positions, and as I said that holds priority. Anyway, you and I'll find out soon enough if this eagerness is genuine if a new Chocobo set is posted on my page soon ;) I'll also get back to requests but would like to indulge in my own tastes at first, just to get back on the saddle.
Lastly, thanks to all my watchers old and new for keeping me on your list, and to my friends for missing my presence!

Posted 17 years agoI hate to sound like a broken record, but sorry I'm still not here guys. I've got commissions and loads of requests to do. And Rainfurrest to attend! Damn! (I'll try my best to show up, even if it's just for a few hours--either Saturday morning or Sunday at anytime. Friday's shot O_o)
Hmm... I need Hermione's Time Machine Necklace (or whatever the heck-sauce that thing is called). Or Doc's Delorean. There just aren't enough hours in a day.
My schedule consists of going to the Digipen art campus no later than noon and staying there working on projects and going to classes until it closes at midnight, occasionally leaving the premises to eat something. Then I go home and work some more because something is always due the next day, without fail.
Don't get me wrong!* I love art and animation and noticing my techniques and efficiency increase (slowly). I also have lots of awesome friends and we all work, complain, pass along inside jokes like wildfire, and every so often burst into song and dance together.
What I'm saying is, all that's nice, I just wish there was MORE time.

Posted 17 years agoWhere have I been? I've been at school. With new storyboards, 3d animation, physics, and video game design / development homework due each week, I've been swamped. This is on top of a 30-second fully rendered 3ds Max project which all students have been working on for nearly a year now, and that's due next week,
There is no time! My sword is NOT enough!
Anyway... I'll be back in some regular capacity come May! ...Cause school will be out! If I somehow get a hold of an internship somewhere, I'll likely go on hiatus again, but that's life for you. There's just so much to do! ... :D

Rainfurrest 07 and new people I've met
Posted 18 years agoI wasn't expecting much from Rainfurrest, my first con (and one of the smallest), but it ended up being a lot cooler than I thought :D Most of the time I spent drawing but also got to hang out with some new friends and acquaintances:
gasmaskdragon Not a new friend, but the one that got me going to RF in the first place!
dragonmaw Met in a little makeshift art jam with Bijoux and Gas Mask, he later bought his own art panel in the dealer's den to post up our drawings and sketches. This piece was on display: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/747424/
bijouxdefoxxe The stealthy admin. She draws very well, very quickly and was shelling out artwork like no one's business :o
monoth showed up from PAX and hung out in Gas Mask's room drawing for awhile the first night of the con. I was able to draw her character. She was busy working on con badges the whole time.
lordpico Gas Mask's mate, who I drew yiff of before even meeting :o

princekaro I met him in the game room and played some SSBM. He has a very cute character named Suzie that I ended up drawing twice.
davidasakura A fan of my artwork I hadn't known about! (which made me quite happy). Met him at one of the RF art jams where asked some anatomy advice. Now, I didn't memorize my anatomy that well, so I shared with him a book that helps draw figures more dynamically instead (Force by Mike Mattesi, check it out).
saiskunk Sai, Prince Karo, and myself, were the only three at RF who could claim to be "good" at Smash Brothers (That is until spelunkersal showed up :) ) He also put on quite the show at the pet auction... ;)
And last but not least
mursa, who stayed at my apartment rather than the hotel, where many a good time was had. He has a canine fursuit with a red and blue eye, so keep a lookout for him at cons!
