My freakin' Leg, Trolls, and a kick-ass song
Posted 15 years agoSo, as some of you may know I fell off a curb recently and broke my ankle and leg in three places, having to have surgery. Now I have metal rods holding my leg together and have nicknamed her the nutcracker, bwuahaha...The best part was finding my soul-mate in the ordeal. I'm...Recovering, but realizing that my memory is like Swiss cheese from a combination of pain and pain medication, both of which have been rather abundant here recently. Usually pain meds don't do this to me; a neurologist said that the shock, trauma and extreme pain (it was a *really* bad break) would cause me to forget...Well...Everything for the past month, besides a few fluttery memories that come and go. Now I'm sober and still can't recall much, even from the day to day.
My fella has a craaaaaazy ex who's totally trolling me and I think it's hilarious that she believes on any level that she's intellectually superior...Hahaha. I tried being nice to this girl, because hey, shit happens and I literally fell metaphorically into this guy's lap. Take that, grammar! But it's amusing that she's so obsessed she's making fake FA accounts to slander me. Ooooh, big scary bitch, trying to net-mess me. If she had any real balls, I'd just show her the "Nutcracker Suite". :)
And last but not least...There's a hip chick singer named Brenda Kahn who's an awesome anti-folk singer, and you should totally YouTube Mint Juleps and Needles because the song rocks.
Merry Christmas, if I don't get to post again! Heading to San Antonio next week to spend Christmas with my sweety and his family :)
Hope everyone's well!
**Lyrics**
Next to the club where your girlfriend
is dancing on the bar,
I left a stain on your glass. You called it a scar.
Speaking in tongues through tar-paved lungs,
the boy fell off his chair--
Too drunk to notice and too lost to care.
And you find that your life is a frustrated vision
of Gauguin's, Rodins, excellent diction.
Mint juleps and needles don't add up to wisdom.
You're cracked. You've gone mad. Makes me so sad
I like you better than most of the men I've had.
He took my hand by the Charles and said art is my only desire,
then spit out his drink, headed back to the barroom choir.
She said madness is triggered by sadness
and slipped down the fire escape.
And the rain on the roof tops is silenced
by sirens and violence.
You walk like a man but your heart has been raped.
And you find that your life is a frustrated vision
of Gauguins, Rodins, excellent diction.
Mint juleps and needles don't add up to wisdom.
You're cracked. You've gone mad. Makes me so sad
I like you better than most of the men I've had.
And next to the club where your girlfriend
is dancing on the bar,
I left a stain on your glass. You called it a scar.
Half a glass of cognac and a punch in the mouth--
We are the people our parents warned us about.
And he struck me like a matchstick, only to prove
there's really nothing at all I have to lose.
And you find that your life is a frustrated vision
of Gauguin's, Rodins, excellent diction.
Mint juleps and needles don't add up to wisdom.
You're cracked. You've gone mad. It's hopelessly sad
I like you better than most of those men I've had.
And next to the club where your girlfriend
sells herself on the bar,
I left a stain on your glass. You called it a scar.

A Letter To Eben
Posted 16 years agoI couldn't find my and Ben's damned marriage license to change my last name, so Xavier wound up being "Prentzler" instead of "Fisk" (They give the baby the mother's last name if she can't produce a marriage license). That's gonna be a hard one to explain to him one of these days.
Hope all is well and you haven't...Yanno...scraped your balls on a rusty cheese grater or anything. Oooh, picture idea!
Happy belated birthday. What are you, like, 30 now? Old fucker :P
(And in case it wasn't apparent, everything I wrote in this was meant to come off as funny, not serious...Heh. Except for the thing about Xave's name...That's actually true..."Xavier Teigan Cassus Reign Prentzler.")
I still hate you more than you will ever comprehend, but in all seriousness, I'd like to know you're okay.
And by the way, I dropped all the charges last August.

TV Guide Channel!
Posted 17 years agoWe were flipping through the channels, and saw they were airing the auditions on the TV Guide Channel...And I got to see myself on national television!
How awesome is that?! Sorry...Just excited =D It wasn't even a long clip (the interview was longer) but it's such a big accomplishment for me...I was talented enough vocally and artistically (I did a portrait of the judges) to get national television time.
Just wanted to share! They'll probably re-air this several times, because the TV guide channel usually does, in case anyone's ever flipping through :)

Cancer...
Posted 17 years agoThis is pretty sobering.
They found pre-cancerous cells on my cervix during my first Pap-Smear for the pregnancy. They can't freeze them off until after the baby is born.
I did some research on Dysplasia, and it has a 66% chance of developing into full-blown cancer within ten years.
It's also the second leading cause of death of women worldwide ages 15-36. I'm 25 now.
I'm a little freaked out, but the prognosis is good. Still...I'm a little worried.

The "COMMON SENSE" Party...
Posted 17 years agoIt's that time of the half-decade again, people. The time where rainbows, rimjobs and lies are abundant; where kissing hands and shaking babies is more than the norm, but a requirement. It's time for another presidential election....Hurray. (Can you taste the enthusiasm in the air? [/sarcasm])
I, for one, think the party system of politics is absolutely ludicrous. Why should I have to vote for a group of ideals that I don't agree with? Parties should be obsolete with modern technology. It's pointless. It's futile. And it is definitely NOT in the best interest of America, on the whole. So here's a new one on you - the "Common Sense" party. Use your brain, it's there for more than wall decoration.
The idea of democracy is great, if only it were applied in a more equal fashion. Why not create a social-security number driven voting system? The SSA maintains birth/death records for every citizen in America. Who cares if you're a felon? You're still a citizen, and should still have the ability to vote. With the Information Technology industry as it is, it wouldn't be difficult to set up a system of voting that cross-references your SS# and a few special PINS when you register to vote that would prevent fraud. Add an internet-based voting system and I guarantee you'll get a more accurate voter-base of Americans, on the whole. Right now the only people who vote are those who have enough money, time, and energy to feel like they are making a difference. That in NO way encompasses the majority of our citizens - which kinda defeats the purpose of a democracy in the first place, does it not?
1) HEALTHCARE - Nationalized healthcare systems are a good idea. Ensure that everyone in America can be seen and treated free of charge or for a low fee. You wonder how that can be afforded? See point 2.
2) DRUGS - Legalize them. All of them. You're worried that uncle Charlie is a heroine addict who refuses to clean up his act? That's his problem. If he kills himself and it breaks your heart, that really isn't your fault, and it really isn't your place to prevent. Stop being so damned selfish and let him make his own decisions. Government should NOT take the place of personal responsibility, or common sense. Instead, tax the shit out of the drugs! Use the money to educate the public - and I don't mean in scare-tactic campaigns that just say "Drugs are bad, mmmkay?" and point out the disadvantages of use and abuse. Be honest and candid about all aspects of drug use. Allow people to make their own choices and be satisfied that you have the freedom to CHOOSE what you do with yourself. Focus on the education of the masses and you can't go wrong.
Legalize and tax narcotics, and we can afford to allow everyone in America to live comfortably within a few years time.
3) Poverty & Welfare - STOP focusing on third-world countries who don't have enough to eat, and START focusing at HOME! There are enough starving people in this country eating from trashcans, having to STEAL for the basic necessities of life. Poverty creates crime, moreso than greed. Make sure all mouths are fed, backs are clothed, and roofs are over our heads and you will fix many of our problems. Rich, poor, or middle class, we should all be able to live without fear of desperate need hanging over our heads.
4) EDYAKASHON - I can't stress this enough. Put qualified teachers in schools. It's not about time spent in classrooms, but the quality of material being taught and those who are teaching it. Make a smarter future for us all. Teach the children to rely on themselves, that anything is possible with simple thought. Thought is the basis of all things we do - be it an unconscious action or a conscious choice. Teach the kids to use their brains, not just memorization of textbooks.
5) Energy - Use OUR oil, while we need it. Before long everything will change to alternative energy sources, and it won't be a necessity anymore. For now, while we need it, use it. Being "Green" and "Environmentally conscious" does not mean to expect other countries to to the dirty work for us.
6) IF THIS IS A DEMOCRACY, MAKE SURE EVERYONE VOTES! Voting should be MANDATORY. The patriot act has already raped us of our constitutional rights, the government forces us to conform to what they want - we HAVE to pay taxes, we HAVE to go to school in some fashion or another, if there are so many things we HAVE to do, why not add one more that would actually make a difference and make apparent the wishes of the TRUE majority of people?
Just basic common sense. With mandatory voting, then the majority WILL rule. The government needs an overhaul from the ground up - it's time we stand up and DO IT RIGHT!

1/4 to Childbirth!
Posted 17 years ago 10 weeks done out of a 40 week pregnancy..I'm a quarter of the way there!
Three more weeks to my next trimester, which is the next milestone for me!
...I'm REALLY hoping for a girl this time, since I have a son, but I'd be just as happy with a little boy! Ben wants a boy :)
~~~~~~~~
Still no bids on my auction...10$ isn't that bad for a full digital commission.
New Computer & Commissions!
Posted 17 years agoWell, I finally got my new computer...YAY! Thank God, I've been dying without my Photoshop, heh.
I'll be doing commissions again but they may take 2-3 days to complete since Benji and I are sharing the monitor (And mouse, and keyboard...) I still have the laptop, but the hard drive is so fucked that I can't install anything and it's basically an internet-only machine.
Sketches - 10$
Full Digital Painting - 25$
email sirenshriek at aim.com or message me here on FA!
Guess what?!
Posted 17 years agoWelcome back, FA! I missed this site last month...I think I wore off the ink on my F5 key, lmao!
So much happens every month, things are always hectic...Last month was no exception.
I had an appointment on July 2nd with an OB/GYN to start on the medication Chlomid, which is a fertility drug. My car broke down on the way there, so I missed the appointment and was sooo disappointed! I've been trying to get pregnant for a couple of years now without success, it broke my heart that I couldn't make it to the doctor's office.
On the 21st, I went to the American Idol audition in Louisville. I was on FOX news the night before the audition (It's on YouTube, just search for Sabby Fisk Interview) The painting got me so much media attention! I had 7 interviews total. I'll even be on the TV guide channel again this year singing "Amazing Grace", so if you're channel surfing and see the rolling coverage of AI, check it out!
I can't say whether I made it on the show or not because of the contracts...Hope everyone understands! ;)
The day after the audition I passed the biggest test of my life...My pregnancy test! That's right, I'M PREGNANT! Turns out I didn't need the Chlomid after all, which is a good thing because it's expensive and NOT covered by my insurance. I'm due on March 22nd, 2009. I had my first OB/GYN appointment yesterday and got some ultrasounds pictures (I just added them to my gallery). Everything is developing right and on time, and her/his little heart was beating at 143 bpm. .
We had to move again, our landlord's trailer burned down and they moved into the trailer we were living in,,,But that's okay because my aunt Trula gave us the house we've been wanting since we moved to Kentucky in March.. It's ours now, and we won't have to worry about getting kicked out anymore.
So, yep...It's been a hectic month, but very, very productive.
One A Day...
Posted 17 years agoThis should be interesting to watch...
My audition song for AI this year is Denice William's "Let's Hear It For The Boy" (Remember Footloose?)
I am going to make one video recording per day until July 21st, 2008, of this song. Not only will this help my practice regimin, but the transformation over the next few weeks is going to be pretty cool, I think.
PhotoShop Tech Video/American Idol Hell Month
Posted 17 years agoWould anyone be interested in buying a video documenting some of my Photoshop techniques? It's a quick 10 minute video showing
~* Realistic Eyes *~
~* Fur Techniques *~
I set up a paypal account ( SirenShriek[at]aim.com ) and am asking 5$ for the video.
I plan on making several PS videos, this is the first in the collection.
If you're interested, PM me and I'll send the video!
Alright, I've decided that - no matter how I look right now, I can't pass up the chance to audition again. Especially since I passed the first round last year. Especially since I passed the first round of Nashville Star this year.
So I have a few things I need to do before I can audition on July 21st (the day before my deceased mum's birthday, oddly enough!) The audition is coming to Louisville, KY, so I don't even have to make a 500 mile trip this time. I just woke my hubby up gasping when I got the audition info.
So, on top of everything else, here's the plan -
At least 3 hours of practice a day. Gotta get the chops back into shape, right?
I need to make a partial denture. Realistically, there's no way in HELL I can come up with 500$ by next month. I'm not gonna roll over and take it, I'm an artist, dammit. I can come up with something. I'm thinking about making a mold from my hubby's teeth and reshaping them to fit my mouth. A little denture adhesive and model car paint and voila! It's farfetched, but desperate times call for desperate measures. ANY ideas for this are appreciated.
NO more soda. Period. I've weaned myself off of caffeine mostly already. I DON'T need the extra sugar content.
Going either vegetarian for a month, or low-carb. Dunno about going low-carb again, given my energy issues right now.
Gotta get a new dress and a VERY binding girdle or corset. And those gel bra inserts...The girls are kinda saggy these days.
Nails done, hair done...Most of these things I can do myself. I need to acquire new make-up, wont be too hard.
For the night before, I probably wont camp out onsite this year. Oh, God, last year that was fun! Woodstock for karaoke, about 200 people getting drunk & high with the cops right across the street. I smoked out of a bong with a safety officer, now that's a claim to fame. But last year, I was alone down in Atlanta. I took a bath in the Chattahoochie river the day before the audition. Ah, lovely transient lifestyle...But I wasn't going to let something as small as being homeless and living in my car stop me for taking a chance on life. It paid off, I got to be on the show for a round and make fun of my ex-husband on national television to boot!
I was also on Fox news in Atlanta, as well as on camera for SEVERAL other newscasts. I was on the TV guide channel in the background. Seriosuly.
I'm doing free song requests. Basically, if they have it on SingSnap or Ksolo I'll sing it and post it here. that's the best way to diversify. just post any requests here, and I'll add it to the list.
This is going to be a hectic month. Good thing I can practice and do commissions at the same time :)
I set up a paypal account ( SirenShriek[at]aim.com ) and am asking 5$ for the video.
I plan on making several PS videos, this is the first in the collection.
If you're interested, PM me and I'll send the video!
Alright, I've decided that - no matter how I look right now, I can't pass up the chance to audition again. Especially since I passed the first round last year. Especially since I passed the first round of Nashville Star this year.
So I have a few things I need to do before I can audition on July 21st (the day before my deceased mum's birthday, oddly enough!) The audition is coming to Louisville, KY, so I don't even have to make a 500 mile trip this time. I just woke my hubby up gasping when I got the audition info.
So, on top of everything else, here's the plan -
At least 3 hours of practice a day. Gotta get the chops back into shape, right?
I need to make a partial denture. Realistically, there's no way in HELL I can come up with 500$ by next month. I'm not gonna roll over and take it, I'm an artist, dammit. I can come up with something. I'm thinking about making a mold from my hubby's teeth and reshaping them to fit my mouth. A little denture adhesive and model car paint and voila! It's farfetched, but desperate times call for desperate measures. ANY ideas for this are appreciated.
NO more soda. Period. I've weaned myself off of caffeine mostly already. I DON'T need the extra sugar content.
Going either vegetarian for a month, or low-carb. Dunno about going low-carb again, given my energy issues right now.
Gotta get a new dress and a VERY binding girdle or corset. And those gel bra inserts...The girls are kinda saggy these days.
Nails done, hair done...Most of these things I can do myself. I need to acquire new make-up, wont be too hard.
For the night before, I probably wont camp out onsite this year. Oh, God, last year that was fun! Woodstock for karaoke, about 200 people getting drunk & high with the cops right across the street. I smoked out of a bong with a safety officer, now that's a claim to fame. But last year, I was alone down in Atlanta. I took a bath in the Chattahoochie river the day before the audition. Ah, lovely transient lifestyle...But I wasn't going to let something as small as being homeless and living in my car stop me for taking a chance on life. It paid off, I got to be on the show for a round and make fun of my ex-husband on national television to boot!
I was also on Fox news in Atlanta, as well as on camera for SEVERAL other newscasts. I was on the TV guide channel in the background. Seriosuly.
I'm doing free song requests. Basically, if they have it on SingSnap or Ksolo I'll sing it and post it here. that's the best way to diversify. just post any requests here, and I'll add it to the list.
This is going to be a hectic month. Good thing I can practice and do commissions at the same time :)
Wow...
Posted 17 years agoI just looked in the mirror (or more precisely, on the webcam when I was getting a picture of another sketch...) and realized I hardly know who I am anymore.
My appearance has changed pretty drastically, and I know a HUGE part of it is the fact that I have no front teeth...Taking care of my body I think probably comes in second to that. That's the first thing people will notice about me, (Honestly, it is...You can't help but notice a girl with no front teeth, right?)
On top of it, my muscle distribution has changed drastically. I weigh the same (which is still 40 lbs. over my goal weight...) but all of it is in my belly. I have this HUGE flabby stomach and look like I'm preggers all the time.
At this point, I don't know if I'm going to audition again this year or wait til next and try to clean up a little bit first. Right now, my hubby and I get to eat on a GOOD day, which means we eat maybe 3 days a week when my aunt has work for us. We just signed up for food stamps, which will be a HUGE help............next month.
I dunno. I just don't feel the same anymore. I used to have fire or ambition or drive or something...Now I've become pretty anti-social. I don't know why, either. I used to be a VERY friendly person, now it feels like I have so many problems to address myself that it's hard to involve myself with other people.
Seriously...IRL I'm finding it hard to even talk to people I don't know.
My world is becoming smaller.
Eh, random rambling. Felt like posting a journal. :)
Newton's Cradle
Posted 17 years agoIn this vast existence we are guided...Be it by gravity, inertia, or some supernatural means, we are driven constantly onward towards the things we desire most.
When you find the part of your life that has been missing, all of the balls in Newton's Cradle collide, and the pendulum begins its dance.
I believe with all of my heart that everybody needs somebody, no matter how big and bad and tough you act on the outside.
I've been happily married for 4 months now to the man who really is my perfect other; my moral parallel and my best friend in ways that I never could have comprehended before. He's always there for me, always ready to give his all just to see me smile...He busted his ass to raise 600$ overnight to get me out of jail when I got caught driving on a suspended license (Really, I didn't know it was suspended!) I did the same thing or him back in December...
He's my muse, and I feel like I can accomplish anything now. :)
Good news! I have my own place, internet, electricity, running water, and a laptop...That means for the first time in about 2 years, my life is pretty damned stable. I'm going to start doing art again...I owe a few people some commissions that I never quite finished, then I'm going to start taking them again. :)
Plus I'm working on a few gifts right now for some of you who have helped me along through that dark period of my life.
I love you guys! Thank you so very much for everything!
.....Not being afraid to show affection in public, knowing were going to get smacked for it.
.....Grabbing my ass going up the stairs, because I know you still want me now as much as when we first met
.....Smoking a big bowl together, because smoking alone isnt quite as fun
.....The cheesiest lines you always use on
...Taking my temperature when I feel sick (heheheh...)
.....Holding my hair up when I puke
.....Not judging me because Im...Quirky....and odd.
.....At least acting like youre listening, when Im rambling on and on about nothing
.....Being there when I need you
......Giving me your heart, when I know I dont deserve
.....Candy Necklaces. Nuff said.
......You.
I Will Die...
Posted 18 years ago...Of lung cancer, when I am 36 years old. You know, the odd thing is, thats what Ive said since I was about 13 years old.
I have always had this intuitive knowing that will be my time and reason (though the place is still unknown) So last night, while I was sitting on the bed enjoying a big bowl of reefer with Ben, it hit me - thats the positive side of knowing when you will die.
Thinking I am going to die at 36 of lung cancer gives me so much time to accomplish what I want to accomplish, see what I want to see, and do what I want to do.
No matter if I die before, on, or after that, then Ive been living my life to the fullest.
So, would you rather know when and how you will go, or leave it up to destinyfatesurprise (question mark)
I have computerage!
Posted 18 years agoBen got a new system and I've inherited his old one...YES! WHOO! That means I can actually start doing art again without the threat of having to take the pc back to walmart.
I'm so happy. Seriously. Life is great.
I was right, about fall being my season. Something good is always happening in the fall.
Happy Halloween!
Posted 18 years agoSince I might not get another chance to post before candy day, Happy Halloween everyone!
I came back to Savannah - it's funny, no matter how many times I leave I always wind up here. Maybe because this is really about the only place in the country that I can truly call home. I have a ton of RL friends here, which is great. Now I have a whole new circle to fit into as well. Makes things interesting.
Last night I went to a kick-ass Halloween party, where I proceeded to get drunk off my ass. They had a liquor tree....*nods* 40 or so people, unlimited alcohol of every type imaginable (Mm, Jello shots...)
And probably my biggest update ATM is tht I've found someone so perfect for me that it's at times scary. I <3 my Ben!
Just letting you know I'm alive. I've been without a car for the past three weeks or so because my Corolla Condo blew a head gasket...BLAH. Hopefully getting a new car next week. *dance*
Losing the Computer...Again...
Posted 18 years agoWell, my car is broken (Distributors SUCK.) and the only way to fix it is going to be to take my PC back to Wal-Mart. *cries profusely*
It's two days past the 15 day return period, so I only hope they take it back...Because otherwise, I'm fucked. I'm getting kicked out tonight, and that's my corolla condo, AKA my crash pad for a little while. I don't wanna be out hitchhiking, and until I find another place to stay the computer doesn't do me a whole hell of allot of good, anyway, you know?
*bangs head repeatedly on desk*
So much for this being a GOOD fall...
Anyway, I'll check back in as soon as I can. Dunno when that'll be, right off...
Love you guys.
Miss you lots.
