march 2023 update
Posted 2 years agohello again, time for my annual journal.
first things first, hi and thanks to new followers! and hi to everyone who's stuck around. I'm thrilled you're all here. reminder that I post pretty much the same art on tumblr/instagram/twitter if you'd like to follow there also/instead. I'm not particularly social anywhere (sorry! I'm a tired and weird old hermit) but comments are enabled in all those other places and sometimes I do actually reply.
the most imminent news is that there'll be a little shop update in the next 2-3 weeks, depending on when the last bit of merch arrives. patrons can see a sneak peek.
if you'd like to know more about what I've been doing and what I'm planning, I posted a lengthier new year's blog on Patreon, which is public and free for everyone to see (and includes a little one-page 2023 calendar you can print. it has an otter, as a portent of things to come). likewise my bi-monthly wrap-ups are also public and contain timely news and a rundown of all the new art I posted that you may have missed in the hectic madness of social media. this year those wrap-ups will include a little video with some clips of art-making and other random life bits (cats. it's mostly my cats) and if you just want the videos you can follow along at youtube.
anyway, other than once again saying I miss anthro art and really do want to get back into it soon, I guess that's it! see you next year ✌️

december 2021
Posted 3 years agotime for an update!
thank you all so much for the love and support, even as i remain terribly unsociable! i appreciate every little watch/fav/share and have received a few comments & messages that genuinely made me cry (in a good way!). not gonna lie, it's been a rough fuckin year and not primed to get much better in the next. i hope my art, at least, will continue to improve in both quality and quantity as i feel like i'm finally figuring out what works for me.
there are loads of things i'd like to do next year. only time will tell what actually gets done. at the very least, i'll continue to bring you good news & fun fact art on a semi-regular basis, and a smattering of extra sketches and mini zines over on patreon. my shop will probably flip-flop from being open for just a couple months a year to taking a hiatus only a couple months a year and a few new items will trickle into it each season. fingers crossed, i'll finally have that american canid zine i've been promising for ages, and get started on the draw-every-endangered-species-in-AL project. the final patreon sketchdump of 2021 will be up in a few weeks, and i'm considering putting together a best-of printed 2021 sketchbook zine, in addition to a little printed zine of cleaned-up comics from my 100 Days project earlier this year.
other than that? i guess we'll have to wait and see.
as usual, i'm still not even pretending i'll keep up with comments here on FA. better luck on twitter or instagram, and tumblr if the blue hellsite doesn't eat your messages.
visit me on patreon for a smidge more art (and mail! we just hit a patron goal, so i'll have a reward to send out soon) and check out my shop if you want to bring some art home.
thanks i love u be good to each other <3

spring update
Posted 4 years agohello! it's been a few months, so i figured it's time for a fresh journal.
at the moment a lot of my energy is going into my personal illustration series, Good News and Fun Facts. i'm trying to post at least one or the other once a week, but the schedule is not yet super reliable. i do put a lot of time (possibly definitely more than necessary) into reading about the subject i'm drawing. i can only hope it shows a little bit! i started these series (Good News first) because i was already spending a great deal of time reading ecological news and folks, it gets real depressing real fast. this art makes me seek out positive happenings, and focus on them for a while, which i assume is beneficial for my mental health (studies are as of yet inconclusive). i hope it does some good for everyone who sees it, too.
if you've got some good news or fun facts you think i should draw, please tell me about it!
other Projects in the works are not really being posted about yet, but you may occasionally get a glimpse through my instagram stories or patreon blogs.
(and as you may notice, comments are still disabled on everything, because i know i'm still not going to reply in a timely manner and that's not fun for anyone so let's just avoid it altogether. sorry.)

back! maybe!
Posted 5 years agohey FA, it's been a while. trying this again.
comments are going to be disabled on everything, for a while at least, because i know i will fail to reply in a timely manner and that's not fun for anyone so let's just avoid it altogether.
anyway. hello! i'm stina (or a variety of other nicknames, anything works) a lifelong animal nerd living in al usa with dogs, cats, ferrets, and the ghosts of several horses. i am looking for freelance work, taking private commissions on a limited basis, and just opened a patreon. currently i'm drawing lots of pumpkins and will be selling them in a couple weeks to benefit a yet-to-be-determined charity.
thanks for visiting!
