The reason is our staff got cut at work, and as a result I've been doing the
job of two people more and more. I'm working on changing my current job,
but I don't know when my work life will settle out.

Hey guys, sorry uploads have been a bit sporadic lately.
The holiday season has been rather rough this time around.
Once we're past the holidays my schedule will resume stability.

Hey guys!

I wanted to let you know that I'm going to be taking a little break from drawing for the month of November. This is partially because I want to participate in National Novel Writing Month, and partially because inktober burned me out drawing-wise.

What this means is:

PKMN RN will not be updating until December.

Also I'm not going to be finishing inktober. I got sick last week and am too burnt out to finish. Good news is I'm on meds and doing much better health-wise. Overall I am very happy with how my inktober posts came out. I might post a doodle or two if inspiration strikes through November, but I plan on using more of my time to write this month rather than draw. This will also give me time to plan for the holiday PKMN RNs!

Here's some of mine:

Izzy was my absolute favorite in the whole movie! I enjoyed every scene she was in X3

Was kinda hoping for another male character in the main group of friends though. Preferably a unicorn that way it's 2 of each race. I like the balance.

I really felt like the earth ponies got left out of the ending. At the beginning of the movie it was kinda hinting towards earth pony's strength in innovation since they never had magic or flying abilities, but then you see the Pegasus city and they look like they are LEAGUES ahead of the earth ponies as far as tech goes. I was kinda hoping the lack of magic would result in earth ponies having some sort of famine due to them losing their connection with the earth or maybe they start lacking in the near super strength a lot of earth ponies possessed.

I was honestly hoping that Sunny's dad wasn't dead (even though we all knew he was gonna be dead) and was just messing. With him being a researcher and there being a LITERAL MAP OF G4 EQUESTRIA in the childhood scenes, I was thinking he would have just gone missing searching out the abandoned city of canterlot or something. Then Sunny has to go searching for him, making friends along the way. Even better would have been had they FOUND SPIKE! Funny enough EVERY generation of MLP (except G2) has a purple dragon character named Spike. It would have been so cool had they found a massive adult Spike sleeping under the ruins of canterlot. Spike then could have explained the stories of the mane 6. I was also kinda hoping the "spirit" of Twilight Sparkle would make an appearance and it turns out she made the 3 crystals as a fail safe if the three races ever became divided again. A symbol of friendship and a catalyst for the friendship magic that could be used to save all of equestria.

Also, I think having active political tension over resources or something among the three races would have been more interesting to watch too. With pegasus hiding the fact they can't control the weather, unicorns hiding the fact they don't have magic, and earth ponies hiding the fact they are losing connection with the earth, each tribe grows more and more hostile with each other. WHY aren't the pegasus giving us the rains we need?! Why are the earth ponies holding out on food?! Why won't the unicorns help by supply with magical remedies?! Would have helped drive the tension.

Also did anyone think it was interesting that the names of two of the main characters are SUNNY starscout and Izzy MOONbow?! Even more with Sunny becoming an alicorn?! I can't help but enjoy the parallels of our two favorite 1000 yo princesses! But rather than a sister relationship, I'd rather ship Sunny and Izzy. They're interactions throughout the movie were too cute!

Someone throw Sprout in jail please. Dude committed war crimes, or at least was very close to.

Over all I thought the movie was cute and fun, and I'm excited to see what they do in the new generation! What are your thoughts?

(How are these ponies gonna handle dragons, griffons, zebras, etc., if they barely handle each other?)

(Hey wait a second! How come zebras were never at Twilight's school of friendship?!)

I'm Team Steampunk!

This year it is Team Cyberpunk vs Team Steampunk

Joyce (audino)
-Actually traveled around for a while before becoming a nurse. It’s really common for pokemon to travel before settling down somewhere. She traveled around Unova (he birth region) and later Sinnoh.

-Because she is an audino she got attacked a lot more than other pokemon. To make matters worse, she wasn’t exactly anyone’s first choice to join a team. Audino’s aren’t known for much outside of healing and giving more exp when defeated. Joyce had trust issues for a long time because of this. She was always friendly, but always on guard at the same time. It was exhausting. More often than not, she would travel alone. She also got pretty good at fighting over time.

-Audinos have very good hearing, and their ears can be very sensitive. While she was traveling she got a horrible injury resulting in her left ear becoming partially damaged. She’s not deaf but there is a deficiency on one side, resulting in her ability to locate where a sound is coming from being off. She’s very self conscious about it.

-She did make a few close friends during her travels. The most notable would probably be an absol named Avalon. He was ostracized by a lot of pokemon since some still believe absols cause disasters. When Joyce settled down, Avalon kept traveling. They still keep in touch. Avalon works as a rescue team pokemon, and sometimes drops rescued pokemon off at Joyce’s pokemon center.

-She has a friendly personality but actually has deeply suppressed anger issues. She rarely gets truly angry because she’s afraid of the angry side of herself.

-Hobbies include surfing and video games. She also has a bit of a sweet tooth. Hot chocolate drinker for sure!

-She swears more than you might think. Never in front of patients tho. Gotta be professional and all that.

-Nursing school was actually really difficult for Joyce. Where she did well in school before, nursing exams are a whole other kind of evil. Thankfully her skills shined bright during clinicals. She has good instincts.

-She lives far away from her family. Relations are...strained to say the least.

-She met Boone (her ursaring husband) right before entering nursing school. The two just clicked really well. They are now happily married and love each other to the point it’s kinda nauseating.

-Joyce is bisexual

Joy (chansey)
-Nurse Joy has been a nurse for 25 years now and has traveled A LOT. Like every region!

-She’s married to an arcanine police officer named Jenny. Like most chanseys she’s a lesbian. (personal head cannon that chanseys tend to be lesbians due to all chanseys being female)

-She’s a huge fan of crime novels and ghost stories

-Joy and Jenny like to investigate haunted locations for fun

-Once got kidnapped by a mewtwo. Too bad she doesn’t remember.

Janis (Indeedee)
-Use to work as a cafe pokemon before becoming a nurse. She developed a love for coffee and tea, and a dislike of certain pokemon (the “karens” if you will). Her years in customer service have only made her sass stronger.

-lover of coffee and tea. All the caffeine!

-Most likely to be instagram famous. Runs a blog that critiques various cafes.

-The goth gf we all dream of

-Unsure of her sexuality at the moment, and doesn’t really care. She knows she will figure it out when she figures it out. However, she is definitely attracted to Yvetal.

-Joyce’s work wife! They are BFFs! They actually started working at the pokemon center at the same time.

-Since Janis is an indeedee her horns can pick up on the emotions of others. One of the reasons her and Joyce are such good friends is because Janis can feel Joyce’s positive personality. Although she would never tell Joyce, she find’s Joyce’s determined optimism very comforting, especially on harder days in the pokemon center.

-Don’t let the pokedex fool you! Not all female indeedee’s make great baby sitters! Janis has no interested in having kids or becoming a pediatric nurse.
