Today is Squish day, well it's 12:05 as I type this so technically it is. (And I'm getting distracted a lot so that's why this is being actually posted like 30 minutes later)
Already got a put together a large TV stand and medium bookcase so those are my physical presents this year.

I hope that I don't get random people adding me just to force roleplay then make it sexual and then shame me for not wanting to be sexual about it without knowing them for more than ten minutes, like last year.

I've not been too active simply because I've been keeping to myself, no trades have gone through in a little bit and  datblangry has been doin' their own thing.
I've never been that hot on FA in general as it's not where my true passion lies.
Been sort of wanting to make at least 2 or 3 new OCs (one of them being a new sona-though obviously Stormy will still be around) but I've not too many ideas for appearance etc along with not being much of an artist + doing work on other things 80% of the time and I simply don't have the spare energy. It stresses me out quite a bit and makes me wonder if it's worth it just for FA where my account is essentially for people to look at animations, not my character ideas and such.

Birthdays should be great for all peeps. I think if everyone had great birthdays maybe they'd feel more inclined to be nice to each other. I've had mine be tepid or go wrong too much to really want to even bother any more but, eh.

Few things have happened while I was predisposed; Fallout 4 had it's smallest DLC update before what Bethdesa calls their biggest DLC yet. Dark Souls III is now a thing that exists, I found out like that newish Blazblue and Guilty Gear AND Final Fantasy 9 are on Steam. I lost 3 champion heroes in Darkest Dungeon on my first attempt at a champion level and I even manged to so far avoid contracting scarlet fever so far and watched the first two seasons of Chuckle Brothers (which is actually great and that I'm sad I missed it first time around).

I don't make journals much, you can see why with run on sentences but that's also because I'm just back and still recovering from traveling etc, hope you lot have had a decent time while I was away u:

As some of you may have noticed, I recently took down a commission I did for someone due to the fact that he refused to pay the negotiated price for it. As of now, he has still not paid and he is the first to flat-out refuse to pay at all.

Due to this, I have decided that it is time for a clarification on my pricing scheme. I would prefer not to argue with anyone on this in the future, so I’m going to try and explain it in as much detail as I can.

To start, I charge hourly. Some may not agree with such an uncertain pricing method, but it is what I’ve deemed to be necessary. I will offer estimates when asked, but that may be off by a good margin. The standard rate is $10 an hour and time taken varies based on:
- Difficulty of the image to be traced (complexity)
- Amount of characters
- Specific animation requirements
- Revisions
- Other unavoidable efforts

I have stuck with an hourly pricing method because I do not wish to devalue my work, or the time that I spend doing it. In addition, I almost always round down the time it takes more heavily than would really be necessary. In the event that you cannot pay in full, I do not mind taking partial payments, or waiting a bit longer, provided you’re not a dick about it.

If you commission me, I expect you to consider the fact that this is laborious work, just like any other job, and will be respectful towards the expenditure of my time and efforts. So far, almost everyone who has commissioned me has been very nice about this and it pains me that I must set this forth in such a stern way. I’m not going to let a single bad experience ruin what I do.

Then I'm sure that you know of this scenario, it's either happened to you or someone you know;

Someone asks for a commission and is quite vague about it, even when pressed for details
'Okay,' you think 'some creative freedom while giving them what they want, that's cool'.
You do all the work and show it to them
It's totally wrong, not the right shape, wrong angle, sky is wrong colour
They tell you to do it again
Professionally, do you refuse and ask for payment or do you just do another, essentially for free?
Did this hypothetical person simply not think of the details they wanted and assumed you could mind read?
Or are they a complete bastard who wants to get tons of free art by guilting and whining?

Well, fellow people who draw stuff for others for money, I have a small suggestion to hopefully cut this problem down a bit, simply add this, or something to it's effect, to your info on commission handling:

By agreeing to commission me, you agree that if you are too vague about the specifics of what you want, then find that it hasn't been done to your liking, I am under no liability to refund money or redo the image.
In no uncertain terms: If you do not give enough detail about what you want then it is your own fault the product hasn't been made to your expectations and I still expect payment as I tried my best with the details you gave.

It would be unprofessional to put fingers at people who may fall into such a category as these hypothetical people, but word does get around in a few ways and artists tend to look out for eachother.

This is just one journal and I hardly expect to change the world with it, (I haven't even included any hash tags like the real social media super heroes) but I hope it may help even a small bit to artists who may find themselves possibly being taken advantage of.

Just a head's up; I'm going to be updating all of my animated submissions today; from now on all current new animations will begin muted and have a speaker icon on the top right to enable, as well as the volume being lower.
The noises are rather intrusive and loud and I never really left warnings, and these being fetish things afterall I'm sure a good number of people are trying to exercise discretion so this is for you guys, also people who find opening tons of tabs as they go through stuff to view and having to mute entire computer until they find the culprit tab also :U

Oh, I always assumed this would go without saying but thanks for the attention, views, faves and especially comments on stuff that I do, I guess I don't think much of it usually because I consider it normal as what I do here is lowest-common-denominator; fetish and sexualized things will always get attention.

Despite this I try to have pride, respect and a an assurance of quality in my work and any suggestions to help me make it better (and thus everyone enjoy what I do more) would be mondo appreciated; I already use some tricks with movieclips inside movieclips to allow separately looping body areas to make the animation less robotically-looped but if there's actionscript/plug-ins that I can use to further the animation without having to learn entire scripting languages/totally new programs I'm down for giving it a shot.

Oh also adding a small logo linking to my page on all of them just so if people do submit them around (people who commission me are free to submit them anywhere) then there's still a way to get to my page.

Unsure where else I could put this info where it could be viewed but if any artists want something of theirs animated, instead of paying we could do a trade, possibly even they draw something we both like the idea of then I animate it; everyone's happy!
