Looking for Opinions!!
Posted 6 years agoIt's getting to that time again where I open commissions once more.
That being said... I'm wondering again what 'model' of taking commissions is best. :thinking:
If you guys could let me know what you think/what option is best, I'd love to hear your opinions! <33
• A) Post journals with limited slots, then have slots claimed on a first come first serve basis. (CURRENT SETUP)
Pros: Fast, simple, and lower overall wait times in queue. (~2 Weeks)
Cons: Have to wait for journal announcements. Not everyone is around when the slots are announced. Can be somewhat luck-based.
• B) Have an 'unlimited queue', always open, and commissions are done in order.
Pros: No waiting for slots to open, everyone gets a chance no matter the timezone or schedule availability. No need to pay until you are out of queue.
Cons: Much longer wait times in queue (likely months).
• C) Post journals with an application-based form, leaving it open for a week, then I personally choose which commissions I'd like to take on.
Pros: Lower wait times in queue (~2 weeks), everyone gets a chance no matter the timezone or schedule availability.
Cons: Have to wait for journal announcements. Can be disheartening to not have your application chosen.

I'm finally back in my own home. It feels so comforting to be back, and thanks to everyone who was able to donate, I was able to afford myself a new mattress! It's all set up and I had the BEST sleep EVER last night!! TvT <33

Posted 6 years agoMister hurricane Dorian took our atlantic canadian city by storm (lol), and all was well and dandy for us until our ceiling collapsed. T_T (Partially, not the whole thing LOL)
Repairs are taking place today, but I don't know when I'll be back in my home. A couple days, maybe? I hope so!
Either way, I need to get myself a new mattress, new bedsheets/pillows/etc. My poor bed took the brunt of the hit and got soaked through with dirty roof water xD;
THANKFULLY it missed the computer corner completely TvTb Oh mygosh so lucky.
So that being said, there will be a small bit of a delay with commissions this week. I'm staying with a friend until repairs are complete, sooo I'm kinda stuck with mobile for the time being.

Besides that, if you have anything to spare, I'd be forever thankful for donations towards my new mattress/bed T_T;; I hate asking for help, but I don't have a lot of options atm, being without my computer and whatnot.Although... I could borrow my friend's laptop and snag some things off of st.ash to do some uploads, at least.

Even though I don't do meat, I *can* utilize any recipes that call for ground beef/pork. We got dem substitutes. <3

We forgo the cilantro though. >:P That shit nasty.
And you can also forgo the tofu too, if that's not your thing! We made it that way for a potluck and it was a huge hit.

Home Again, Home Again~ [And commission news/stuff]

And by "home again", I mean I'm going *home* to my hometown for a visit.
My mom is getting married eeee <33 I've never been a maid of honour before so it's also kind of nerve-wracking.
I'll be gone from... well, today (leaving in an hour), until Monday.
BUT!! I'm going to segway this into commission news for next week!
There are two commissions I'm going to finish before opening anything ("GROUP I", if you two are here, hi!), and then I should be set to start reserving more commission slots!
This will be sometime next week, for sure. Also! If you currently have a commission with me (or art trade), your ETA for completion is now officially "two weeks or less"! Woooo <3!
In addition, would anyone be interested in me testing out some streaming next week too? I think it would be cool to work on some stuff on stream, and maybe chat a little if I'm not too shy lol. :D

It's pretty cozy and warm down there.
Don't have too much to say other than... hi again!! The break was well worth it, and I'm doing -so- much better!
Hope everyone has been well these past few weeks. :D
It's been... sooo damn hot here. Can I have Autumn yet? Heheh.
Oh! And regarding commissions, I won't be opening any new slots until after I've worked through my backlog of current to-dos. ^^ Including the Patreon sequence and a few friend art trades (I haven't forgotten about you!).
And Ps: Daily uploads for a little while! There's a backlog of finished art to post, too. Pew pew pew.
It's pretty cozy and warm down there.

As a few of you might know, poor Sylv is a slurry of health problems. >v>;
And as another few of you might know, I also have a tendency to work/draw a LOT!
And... it turns out I might be overdoing it, and that's exacerbating some things I'm trying to heal right now. OOPS.
The doc is not happy with me.
As reluctantly, and as much as I hate to do it, I should sign off for a week or two.
I really hope you guys don't mind. You know how much I love this community, and how much I love being around and posting stuff. D:
I hope you still continue to support me when I come back! <3
But yeah, a few housekeeping things~
• Regarding Commissions: I'm still going to be working on these offline, not to worry! And I'm still going to be updating my [Trello] with progress. The only time I'll pop onto FA will to be to message people with finished commissions, or commission drafts.

Just popping in to give you a heads up that I'll be opening some more slots tomorrow for commissions ^^
I'm opening 3 slots! They will be up Monday, June 3rd at 12pm (noon) EST.

My health has been kicking me in the butt and as such I'm slightly behind on my current to-do list, so I apologize for the smaller amount of openings this time around.

Life doesn't like to slow down! Wow!
As a few of you (but not many) might already know, I've been recently diagnosed with a condition that, tl;dr, causes my body to not absorb nutrients the way it should. Think weakness of muscle and bones, and sleeping ALL the time! The good news is that I'm on medication for it now, and it's been steadily improving! The bad news is, apparently it might have affected my eyes a little, and by might I mean it definitely has heheh. TvT
It won't be getting any worse since I have my meds now, but because of this my eyes like to uh... spasm when they work too hard? Lol - that sounds scarier than it actually is! I can't tell when its happening, and you can't see it unless you're a doctor lookin REAL close, but gosh damn it gives you crazy headaches and blurry vision. So THAT's why I'm a little bit behind... I have to tend to headaches a lot! - BUT!!!
Guess who's getting specialized glasses tomorrow to help that <3 They somehow help your eyes focus? I don't know how, but at least they're suuuper duper cute!
They're um... $600 though. >v>; Good thing credit cards exist. And rice and beans are yummy and cheap lmao!
I have special eyes.
Might open up some YCHs once I get caught up on commissions to pay that bill off!
And hopefully smooth sailing from there! >:D I'm gonna kick life's butt right back!!
In these trying times, it's always lovely to see all of the nice comments you leave on my work <33 I'm going to make sure to reply to those tomorrow!

Posted 6 years agoHey hey everyone ^^! Hope you guys are doing well. It's super stormy here right now - so cozy!
Had a crazy busy week last week, but finally things have calmed down for me to begin tackling commissions again. (;v;)b
That being said, I'm opening 5 commission slots tomorrow (May 15th) at 11:00am EST.
Work on them would begin around the end of May.
Looking forward to seeing what ideas I'll be working with next ^^ Cheers!
