Totally Fucked / Vent

This is how i feel about now.
The university health service his fucking me so hard. So I needed a TB test for an internship this summer, so I tried to schedule one almost a month ago. But the place has been swamped with cases of salmonella and gastroenteritis, and I couldn't even get an appointment for a simple TB test until last Monday. Monday rolls around and seriously no more than 2 hours before my appointment I receive an email telling me the physician has left town unexpectedly and they don't know when he'll be back. Great. So now I have to reschedule the appointment and tell the internship people why my stuff is going to be arriving late. So I make a new appointment. But the lady that scheduled it apparently interpreted "I need a TB test" to mean "I have TB and I need to see a doctor." But of course I don't know this until I show up for my appointment this morning, and they so "oh, you don't need to see this doctor, you need to see this other person." Fan-fucking-tastic. So the earliest appointment available now is Saturday, which of course they can't do because I would have to have the results read Monday, which is a holiday, and the health center will be closed. So now I have to wait until Tuesday to have the goddamn thing done WHICH TAKES 3 WHOLE MINUTES, and have it read on Thursday. Oh, forgot to mention I'm supposed to arrive for the internship on Wednesday. Fortunately I already had plans to arrive two weeks late so I can attend my little bro's graduation. But still, this shit is ridiculous.
And on top of everything else I have an organic chemistry final tonight.
I'm totally fucked.

Posted 17 years agoDrop what you are doing and go see it. Now. Probably my new favorite action movie and definitely a top 5 overall. DESTROYS spider-man and any other marvel movie.
a good cry
Posted 17 years agohave you ever felt a need to watch something incredibly sad? not because you were depressed or anything, but just wanted to get yourself so emotionally wrapped in something that you bawl your eyes out, just as a kind of release? It can be almost therapeutic, I think.
I generally have a hard time letting my soft side out, who knows why, but there are a few things that will always get my choked up. movies and a tv show. yeah, i know. anyways the first movie is the Shawshank Redemption - when Brooks is orating his letter and carves his note and... i'll leave it at that.... guaranteed to get the waterworks flowing. next, John Coffey's execution in The Green Mile - how could you not shed a tear? Then there's Armageddon - largely a typical hollywood mess, but in Bruce Willis' final scene with his daughter - man, just something about seeing a grown man cry, especially bruce willis. Finally, there's scrubs. i know what you're thinking. but hear me out. Find the episode called "My Lunch," episode 20 of season 5 - its the top ranked scrubs episode. at the end, when Dr. Cox's friend dies, and Cox loses it... I lose it to
so yeah. if anyone has any tissue-grabbing material they feel like sharing, be my guest ^.=.^

feeling down?
Posted 17 years agoI certainly have been lately. Life-altering injuries can do things like that. But I was browsing my music library when i found Life is Like a Boat by Rie Fu, which i must have downloaded ages ago when Bleach first came out. I remember being mystified by the beauty of the song, and it had the same effect on me today. Simply an amazing and pure song, I can't help but feel better after listening to it. If you haven't heard it, here's a youtube clip of the music video. The low quality won't do the song justice though.

I also watched Rocky Balboa yesterday. Say what you want, but i LOVE that movie. and i know theres some pretty mushy stallone shmaltz in there, but some of his words really hit home for me. "it ain't about how hard you hit, its about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward." its only another way of saying "roll with the punches" i suppose, but it just applies to me so well in my current situation, and not only do i feel inspired, but I find i'm actually excited to take on tomorrow.
So if you're feeling down, listen to that song, watch some Rocky fights, and make your day just a little bit brighter.
