Small update but just wanted to say thank you to all my friends and fans for pushing me past the 400 mark! Viewers accrue quite slowly here, especially for an infrequent poster like me, so it makes me very happy that enough people to fill a large room are now enjoying both the art I commission and the vorny soundscapes I create!

I am aiming to open up comms again in early to mid august. The waitlist is already (over)full at the moment so it's possible the next three slots will go immediately, but if not, I'll post a journal here and open them up to the greater community. I'm still willing to put more people on the waitlist if they are okay with a longer wait.

Comms closed back in September, totally forgot to post that (not that I really get comm requests via here anyway!) and I've since had to pause work on the comms currently in my queue due to an important proposal I'm writing that's due on the 16th. IRL academia alas will always take priority as it's my main gig. I thank my current commissioners for their patience and trust in me and promise three ssssssssPICY new comms, including a nice big long one with multiple voice actors, will be out in the none-too-distant future! I do not know when I'll have time to open comms again, I'm thinking it'll be next year. Also, I plan to hike prices by $5-10 a minute, tentatively. I hesitate to jack up price without getting a better mic and a sound isolation baffle, but it's just not in my budget at this time and won't be for a while as I need to (can't believe I'm saying this) move AGAIN as I had to transfer to a new college. It was a good run on there, but engagement has ground to a halt, many have left, and I struggle to find the motivation to post on there knowing my words and art are just waiting to be dumped into AI databanks without my consent, so I think it's time to start fresh. Snack ($5+) - I will write your name or OC's name on a piece of paper and eat it, sending you a picture of the name in my claw as proof~

Appetizer ($10+) - I'll eat your name, and will also record a short (usually around one minute) recording of me eating it, with growls, mouth noises, noisy swallows, belches, and teases! Tell me what you want to hear~

Entree ($15+) - In addition to the above, I'll print out a picture of your sona and send you a picture of them sitting in my maw~ (Please note, this is my actual human/player maw, not a fursuit or VR model)

The Full Meal ($25+) - I will record a short video of myself swallowing a picture of your oc whole! (Again, real human, not fursuit or VR model. Perfect if you're into player/human vore!)

I've had 11 customers so far, all through twitter, all quite satisfied with my work, and wanted to expand my audience to the FA community! The money goes to paying bills and affording things outside of living expenses.

Please note that I'm mostly doing this for fun rather than a job. These comms are short and simple by design, and I am only comfortable doing what I have laid out here; I will be unlikely to accommodate longer/more complex requests, at least at this time!

I'm not very active on here, as my written piece production pace is spotty with a chance of hell freezing over and my art purchases infrequent. I am however quite active on twitter, at SearillO. I regularly post unfiltered vorny thoughts, story ideas, ramblings, etc. there. So if you want more marine science dragon vore content, you know where to find me! I also have a private twitter circle for hard vore, disposal, and other more extreme kink thoughts and ideas, and there's 19 slots left for that. DM me on there if interested in that.

Now, an update on my financial situation.
The Go Fund Me mentioned in my previous journal is going well and I have been able to raise $690 thus far through the fundraiser and an outside donation, all of it transferred straight into a savings account I won't touch until it's needed. Between that and corner-cutting I'm now at $991 saved which is excellent. A SINCERE THANK YOU!!! to those who donated, helped raise money, and shared my situation around. What is less excellent is that my landlord has told me in no uncertain terms that I will NOT be able to leave my lease in December as planned, but will either have to gamble with subletting to a stranger, or pay rent until may. While this means I will be stuck paying for two apartments starting January, there's a slight silver lining in that I'll be able to make multiple trips and avoid a U-haul. Regardless, I've upped my goal to $2000 (honestly I need closer to 3k but I'm keeping my hopes low) and the fundraiser is still ongoing. Even $5 will pay for a meal during the very lean times ahead. I do not like asking for charity. I was taught to be ashamed it, in fact, but I'm really, really scared. I move to OH for grad school in early December. Rent in Dayton is going to be 30-50% higher, and my already quite small income cut almost in half. I am leaving my toxic job and apartment early, meaning I have to break my lease and will likely lose my deposit, and I will be without income through December. It's been a little over a year and a half since I came out to the world as a furry, as Searill the Insatiable. I made a lot of friends, some of them brief, others still around and well, and have spent countless hours roleplaying as an orca. I've called Searill my persona, but as I've gotten more into this, I've started to grow a bit frustrated. I'm sure that everyone approaches this differently; I have friends with dozens of characters that they freely jump between, who don't necessarily call a single one "home." I, however, see my Sona as an extension of myself, and cultivating that, through roleplay, commissioned art, and my dinky little twitter account gives me a lot of comfort. Lately I've been finding that Searill just doesn't fit me the way he used to. He was my first shot at creating a new me; nowadays, Mekken, my dragon character, is a much closer approximation of me as a furry. He's who I want to be in this community.

But I'm torn. A lot of my oldest friends now see me as Searill, even if I try to mention otherwise (maybe I'm not doing a good job of mentioning), and all my accounts and social media handles related to the fandom are Searill. I also have garnered a bunch of cetacean followers since I started posting here. I worry people will lose interest in me if I don't keep up appearances, and I feel like there's an expectation (especially from my RP friends) to be orcaboy (Do note this change doesn't mean I won't do anything with orcas again, I still love em).

I'm not sure who will read this, but it's on my mind, a lot. I just wanna feel comfortable in my Sona skin. Feedback appreciated.

Since Midwest FurFest I've been really pondering ways to deepen my connection to the furry community, beyond the roleplaying that I already do, because I love this community, and in the past couple years have realized that it's a significant part of who I am. Thoughts of investing in a partial Dr. Mekken Scrill fursuit have been strong on my mind, as has been throwing my money down on commissions. But science doesn't pay much, money is tight, and the new year will bring only larger bills. So, thoughts turn to producing rather than purchasing. The issue is, focusing isn't one of my strong suits, and while I can draw just fine, sometimes rather well, it's really difficult to force myself to sit down and art with any regularity. I also feel intimidated by all the talented digital artists around me when all I have is a pencil and paper.

The other day Fischie was distracting me at work with some writing he was working on, when he suggested that I try my hand at writing vore stories, said I had "a nice vorny mind" for it. And I'm no stranger to writing, I've been doing it for most of my life in other contexts. So I thought, why not? And over the past two days I banged out "An Endangered Feast" as a gift to my friend, and he gave me the green light to upload it.

Maybe this will be a one-off; I'm reluctant to pick up a new hobby at this stage in my life. Maybe I'll write more. But it feels good to have contributed a little something to a community that has provided me a home the past couple of difficult years. Very good.

Well, it's about time; for too long I've been lurking in the depths, enjoying everything that FA and the vore community has to offer and never contributing to it; that changes now! I have started work on illustrating myself and hope to post the fruits of that labor soon; still trying to figure out if I want to stick to pencil and ink or explore digital options; I've always found digital art difficult but there's always room to learn and improve.
